Leslie is an anthropologist who teaches Native American studies. She respects students and helps us understand the material. She doesn't judge and is very fair in grading. Leslie really gives the student a chance to learn Native American arts and history.

Very fun class if you are interested in American Indian Art. Totally helpful. Very organized. Offers fun extra credit assignments.

Hehehe...interesting projects. One was an aluminum foil sculpture..sweeeeet. Easy A and offers TONS of extra creidt. If you eff up on the tests...NO SWEAT! Your extra credit can more than cover you butt.

Great teacher, no homework...just do the reading and listen to her lectures and you will pass the class with a A! She is very down to earth and loves to interact with the students!

easiest class at deanza period......dont have to do any work and the tests are unbelievably easy.....the only downside is shes anal abt attendance so no ditching here....take it in the summer.....

berry is cool! very easy going and very helpful. if you like crosswords, you get them every week for homework! just be there everyday and do the work, read the book. she is so chill! ENJOY! ^-^

If you sit down and pick her brain (especially during in-class assignment time!) you can really learn a lot. She is not the best "teacher" but damn does she know her stuff. I really enjoyed this class because Leslie is very articulate and she really knows how to address the topics discussed in the course. The books suck, but the teacher rocks~!~

Prof. Berry-Anderson makes a 4hour class short. Every meeting, you do a 2-3 group or individual paper work that can last for about 30-45 minutes. The movies she shows are old, but very knowledgable. She is good enough to make a notwantingtoread person skim the book. Her uplifting persona makes her very approachable.

Totally easy! Every test was a take home, no quizzes, homework was mainly chapter outlines. She is very nice and understanding and despite how easy it was I did learn some interesting stuff.

Every week you have a group discussion/paper to work on from your readings, and there are NO books! She has a class website to get your readings from

Oh my.. what a headache. Stupid art assignments, stupid quizes, stupid final. It was just such a waste of time and not worth anything. Yes, she is an easy A, but its just a ridiculous class from beginning to end. I thought I would get a lot more out of this, but nothing. Can't believe I spent my money on such an idiotic class.

easy A. class is only one day a week. almost 4 hours each day. she lets you out early most of the time. she cancels a whole buncha classes. no one ever pays attn in class. the back row literally has 6 people playing ds in a row. lol. what i dont understand is why she flys in from washington every weekend to teach. the teacher is fun tho :]

She is very nice. Always smile and make the class interesting. There are lecture notes on her website. The book is used to answer questions in class. There are some art projects and puzzles. Midterm and final is T/F based on the lecture notes. Good luck men! I love her.

easy A class!

3 midterms and 1 final. A lot of in class work and assignments. Mostly group work but mainly time consuming. Tries to make the tests as easy as possible, but you still need to study. No more take home exams. Some extra credit. Lectures from powerpoint everyday.

i love her, she is a very nice lady. Book is required. Her exams are not that easy, I mean, I have to read the chapters to get 158/200... anyway, she answers her email quickly and she is extremly helpful. If you read your book you will get a good grade for sure!

Best teacher in the world. If you come to class and do the work and study then easy A. She really makes the lectures fun and also does her best to make the midterm and finals easy, the midterms and take home:) There is LOTS of extra credit that is not that hard. Overall i would say she is my favourite teacher at De Anza, take her!!!!!!!!!!

She is absolutely amazing. Really raised my interest in anthropology, and prompted me to consider the field as a major for a while. Don't be intimidated by the long lec. hours. She makes class time super entertaining! Take her. Even if you don't have to! You will not regret it! :)

She's really great. Out of this world! You will learn things in here that you would not have the opportunity to learn in most other humanities 1 courses. This professor truly has an open mind, and she's great at lectures.

The thing with her classes is that there are a lot of busywork type of assignments. The good thing is that anyone can get full credit on all of the assignments, and there is extra credit in addition to this. I found the class boring because she uses powerpoint for most of her lectures. Very helpful if you ever have questions

There are a lot of projects where we have to create our own pieces of art, and we had two exams which were both take home. There were plenty of extra credit opportunities given. Very helpful and attentive to student's needs. Class isn't at all stressful. wasn't my favorite class, but it was bearable.

I cannot agree her class is easy as the midterm and final is really hard. Even though she allows us to have take-home test, you cannot get the correct answers from the textbook easily. Only way to aces them is to "collude" with the other classmates. Tons of assignment and project, not recommend if you only try to satisfy you requirement.

easy grader on papers,BUT test are not easy even if it is take home. you really need to read the big fat book word by word to find out the answers. Do extra credit.

easy graders on class work and there's extra credit; even though the two test are kinda hard because it's based on reading, but overall, her class is fun, the only rules you have to follow is like super basic, no talking and don't be late.

She was very easy, as long as you attend the class and do the homework, you will be fine. The midterm and final were a little bit hard because both of them had 100 questions. But most of them came directly from the book. Do all extra credits, they would help you a lot.

She is one of the greatest teacher on campus. She cares about student passing her classes and she gives out extra credit. She is nice and helpful.

She is hands down an awesome professor. She had to cover a lot of material and knew it was a lot for students to take in so she did a fine job breaking down key points in class and assisting students in focusing on some things over others. Clear and as helpful as can be. Had a varying assignments (essay, cross-word, etc) to keep it interesting.

I loooved this class! 4 hours flew by without me even noticing, light HW/reading, awesome assignments like simple take-home tests, visiting a cool little museum and making a project on your family history. Basically got an A for listening to her always interesting lectures, watching that crazy NatGeo Taboo show in class, and never leaving early.

Easy class. Just really boring since I have no interest in Art. You do assignments in class have online forums to do but they're all really easy. Easy A, and lots of extra credit

I took her online class for ICS 5. It was super easy. Weekly lessons, which are powerpoints online and weekly quizzes that you have 3 tries for, each. She also has random forums that you have to post on. The final exam is pretty easy as well. Do all of this with the extra credit, and you're golden. She is also a very lenient grader.

So I took her hybrid class. This class was, by far, the most simple class I have taken in my life. 3 attempts for all quizzes AND THE FINAL and she reveals the answers in the end of the quizzes/final so you can attempt again! Easy A+ w/o trying. She's super nice and answers her emails quickly too. She'll be teaching online only now. Take her!

She is very nice, she reply ur email extremely fast. she checked my research project very carefully, and gave me a long comment! there are 8 quizzes, 1 presentation, 1 research project,many assignments, final and 6 extra credit. you can get a good grade if you finish all of her work on time. wanna take her class again!

I didn't buy the textbook, and most the answer you can find online or through her lecture. If you did all the require work, you will guarantee to get an A.

Incredibly easy online class, as long as you stay organized and put in the time. Having the book is essential because the quizzes and exams are all based off of the book (the questions are very specific!). She's very thorough and clear with her expectations, and always provides great feedback. Overall, a very interesting and easy class!

The class is super easy. Textbook is only optional. You can study ahead to finish the rest of assignment and quizzes only if you're taking online class. She give out a lot of extra credits, she is very generous. Exam and final exam are super easy, if you failed, you can it again for 3 try attempt. Same thing as quizzes. Overall the class is easy.

Interface itself is daunting, but she is extremely organized for this online class. She has online office hours which you can chat with her on Catalyst, which is helpful for busy students who can't make it to campus. All weeks unlocked so you can truly study at your own pace. Awesome online course for your GE's, didn't buy the book

Professor Berry was tough but fair. Always clear directions and great feedback. She always responds to questions in a timely manner, and she knows so much about the subject of anthropology. It was a pleasure to take her class and I learned so much from the experience. Would definitely recommend her to Everyone. A definite must while at De Anza!

Grades are calculated by a point system of 1,000. 800 of those points are through assignments, surveys, quizzes, exams. 100 points for the Fossil Project & 100 points for the semi cumulative final. She offers 100 additional extra credit points. All of the weeks are unlocked and you can breeze through if you want to stay ahead. Only solid grades.

Very easy class. All you need to do is do the work and you will get an A. A good amount of quizzes but you have unlimited time and 3 tries. 800 points for assignments and quizzes, 100 points for final, and 100 points for the project.

At first glance, her syllabus in Canvas looks daunting. Once you figure out how to manage your time appropriately, this class is extremely easy. It's literally the same type of assignments every week. After the 3rd week, you get used to the pace of this class. The people who are saying it's hard are lazy. Took 1 hour for 10 assignments per week.

If you need to take a humanities class, definitely take this one! The work was really easy, and doable (don't get frightened by how much work she requires, it's all really easy to complete!). Since there is a lot of work, and it is an online class, make sure you're comfortable with that since everything is due on Mondays. She takes awhile to grade.

Her class is very fun and easy A. At first, you will be surprised by the homework, but they are SO EASY. You just have to give your opinion, and comment on 3 other students every week. She gives 80 points of extra credits. You will learn so much about culture, art, and meet new people from different countries. Her class is fun.

Awesome professor! The class was super easy to go through, as the assignments are interesting. There is quite a bit of reading, and assignments every week. She is also really easy to reach through email if you have any questions.

Professor Berry is a solid choice, but the one thing I dislike is how late she responds to emails. I feel like she only checks her inbox like once a day. Weekly discussions, some write ups, and a self check quiz that gives you 3 attempts, but takes the average of the scores. Otherwise you learn quite a bit of interesting material.

Great easy class. There is a lot of busy work every week, but it is easy and manageable. Received full score on all the assignments. She is easy to reach through email. Learned a lot of interesting aspects of art and culture, definitely would take this class again!

I love professory berry. she made it very easy to complete a ge course this winter term. :) definitely take her! no papers, just graded discussion assignments, easy quiz based on textbook every week, no proctored exams.

There is a LOT of reading assigned each week that is honestly not needed for the homework/ quizzes really. Other than that, every week she assigns a one question MC "quiz" that asks for you opinion, something you have to research about (usually 150 words), a discussion (usually 250 words + replying to others), and a 5 question quiz. HELLA EC THO!

Class was online and async, but it was well organized and easy to navigate. Most assignments are just writing with a few creative projects here and there. Easy class to pass so as long as you put in the effort to log in and complete the assignments.

Independent work, didn't really talk to prof but she left comments on assignments constantly and always told me why I got the grade I got. Overall easy class, great feedback.

4 assignments/week (true/false quiz, opinion-based form, discussion post, mini research assignment), the final exam was also true/false and had 100 questions, 4 extra credit options for 100 extra credit points in total, gave very clear feedback, easy to get 100% on the assignments if you follow the clear criteria, Overall a very fascinating class

Good class with a reasonable weekly workload. 2 assignments weekly with 250 word requirement. Also 2 weekly quizzes, 1 participation and 1 based on textbook. I'm trash at art, but this class has only 2 (very easy) art assignments in total so it was fine. Final project super easy. Recommend.

It's very clear what is expected of you. There is a very reasonable workload (1 quiz, one discussion post + comments, and another smaller write up, both 250 words) per week. She does kinda get on you if you like to phone in your responses to classmates. As long as you contribute somewhat meaningfully in every response you should be fine.

She was honestly a pretty great instructor. Super on top of grading. Available when you needed her. Workload was highly manageable (discussion posts were grating tho) The only thing that really sucked was the final exam. 100 true or false questions is hardly a good gauge on comprehension but whatever. I highly recommend taking her class!
