Might be okay for a lower level math class but couldn't explain the higher level material. Everyone in the class was lost!

She is the worst math teacher in the whole campus!! Why do they still have her teaching? She gets pay for nothing, we (students) are just wasting our money when we take her class. You learn nothing, she does not clarify things at all, you are pretty much on your own. She is Horrible!!

the meanest teacher at suffolk.. rolls her eyes when u ask and question and embarreses you.. had me scared the whole semester to ask a question.. doesnt care when people dont understand. she doesnt allow people to go to the bathroom or leave the classroom.. worst teacher i ever had at suffolk.. she pretty much ruined the past few months of my life

I agree that calculus is tough, but a professor should impart information in a clear, informative and stimulating way. I do not feel she did. Also, a prof. shouldn't get nasty when you point out (s)he messed up a problem or isn't explaining clearly. I withdrew before first test. Took calc. for non-sci with another professor and got an A!

In the beginning of the semester,i thought she was a pretty cool prof. As the semester progressed, i wish i withdrawed. Shes extremely hard and very mean. I reccommend you dont take her for statistics. I used to love math,now i hate it. If you decide to take her class, make sure you use the bathroom before class, she has a fit if you get up.

OMG I just threw up. She is so horrible. She doesn't teach!! She just goes on and expects everyone to understand what she's doing. God forbid you have a question, she will avoid it like swine flu. Then she makes you feel stupid in front of everyone and tells you to go home and figure it out. I definately dropped her class and took it in selden A!

She accuses me and the other classmates of ignoring her when we ask questions and no matter how hard you work you will never pass. She will accused you of not trying hard enough if you ask anything. She even makes fun of the students.

Worst math teacher Ive ecer had, worst attitude, worst teaching style. DO NOT ENROLL IN HER CLASS. She's like 60 years old wearing mini skirts, and tells FULL GROWN ADULTS that they cannot excuse themselves to use to bathroom during an almost 2 hour long course. Why she hasn't been fired yet has been puzzling me since the day I met Buck.

Did anyone pass her class? I came to this class with high c SAT scores in Math and an a+ HS Math average. I Did the work showed up for every class and STILL failed. She has no business teaching!

Worst teacher I have ever had. I think everyone failed her class when I took it. Only 2 of the 20 or so students even bothered showing up to her final because they already were so deep in the hole. Its really bad when I fail a math class, considering my GPA is 3.71, have the national math and science grant and in 5 honors societies.

She makes us do problems that are WAY BEYOND A COMMUNITY COLLEGE LEVEL. The class is harder than the equivalant course at Stony Brook. Thinks shes doing us some favor by teaching us concepts except shes not because no one can even do the problems, even with hours spent on homework every night. SHE IS ALSO A RUDE AND MISERABLE PERSON.

I couldn't even do the first nights homework because she's a horrible teacher. She wont let you go to the bathroom and gives you a quiz everyday. I'm dropping it after day one.

I just withdrew from her class.Horrible Prof, she is rude and a sloppy teacher. She makes a lot of mistakes and she is imcomprehesible. Don't take her class, your better of finding another proffesor or another school that teaches the same subject.I went to her for extra help and still couldnt understand the material.

DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER! She does not allow students to ask questions, because she believes you either know or you dont. Second, do not try to go to the restroom or she will FLIP! For the first test 19 out of 20 students got a D or lower. The Suffolk Dean needs to adress the problem with this professor. Enough is Enough for her.

Ms. Buck is not prepared for her lessons. Offers no hand outs during class no practice problems just assigns homework out text. She is not a friendly instructor she is very harrasing to students for having to go to the bathroom or ask anything. She will stast teaching 1 chapter for 2 hours then see she has 8 mins left and teach next chapter bad.

She doesn't teach. She does math problems on the board w/o explaining and makes the tests harder than they have to be. She is not helpful at all. bad teacher!!!!

this professor is ridiculous. She makes the class harder than it has to be and she doesn't explain the topics clearly. If you take this class, expect a quiz ever day in class, you come in late expect the professor talking down on you and prepare to get a test that'll be 10x harder than the quizzes you get in class. DON'T TAKE THIS PROFESSOR.

This professor was extremely rude and very unhelpful to say the least. I never felt welcome to ask her a question because of the ill manner in which she responded to her students, this made the course very difficult and unpleasant. She truly didnt seem to enjoy teaching the clas . Certainly wouldnt recommend her to anyone. Avoid by all means!!!!

Very difficult to understand. Took 5 years of undergrad classes and precalc with Buck was my least favorite. I'd say that this course was entirely self-taught from the text book and I managed a B as a final grade. Took calculus when I moved on to SBU and loved it by comparison. Advice? Steer clear of precalculus with this one.

Avoid her! Rude as hell. Whole class was doing poorly in calc 1 and everytime she would talk about the test she'd put us down. I stopped answering or asking questions in class entirely. her attitude and constant eye rolling will make you hate calculus and her. assigns 80+ questions a class and quizzes everyday without going over questions on hw 1st

Worst teacher Ive ever had. She doesnt teach at all. She made her own textbook but it barely explains anything. She doesnt help you understand the material. There are quizzes every class and the tests are hard. Avoid taking her at all costs! DO NOT TAKE AT ALL. I withdrew because I didnt want to jeopardize my transfer acceptance. & I love math

Shes fairly rude to students during lecture; her teaching style is very uncommon and involves doing HW for 90% of the class and going over last nights for 10%. She has you read the chapter and do the HW w/ either a HW or reading quiz every class. If you ask a question and it has a simple answer, shell roll her eyes and sigh, making you feel dumb.

Shes downright nasty to students, doesn't teach anything, and gives no time for the quizzes and will rip them out of your hands if she feels like it.

She is not a professor I would recommend signing up for. She teaches in the classroom as if she was teaching an online course meaning she will read things from her self created textbook and then not provide adequate time to comprehend the lesson or work on example problems. You will need to regularly go to her office to get clarification.

Professor Buck seems to understand the topic but has no idea how to teach it. I saw the bad reviews and figured people might be overreacting, plus I usually have no problem connecting with people in general. I was wrong, should have dropped when I could have. Take another professor unless you already understand precalc and can teach yourself!

She tends to be rude in person as well as over email. Gets easily annoyed when anyone uses the bathroom or is late to class. Homework every night and a one question quiz every class. She hates when you solve problems a different way than she taught you even if it's completely correct. Overall, just an annoying professor to have, would't recommend.

i need this class for my degree and She was the only professor left on the riverhead campus and now during the pandemic i thought she was going to be more understanding but i was wrong!!! Gives up to 50 homework problems just for the quizzes to only have 1 or 2. Doesn't explain anything and isn't willing to give extensions due to me working.

Im taking an online course and not only is forcing you to download a anti cheat program to your computer but she makes you set up a webcam to watch you as you take your test. This is some creepy 1984 way of teaching. Lots of work, with most of the information coming from other people. Do not recommend

Honest review she is one of the worst instructors I've ever had. First off she uses this stupid lockdown browsers which in one hand its fine for not cheating but it makes your computer lookin like a 1995 tech computer. I would ask her questions on HW assignments and for some reason refused to help me. She makes you other ppl vids and work solo.

She's very dismissive in the way she addresses people, when she's in class, and also doesn't go over the homework at all. her way of teaching is very confusing but worst of all is the online proctoring service she uses. Its this garbage software with 4000 1 star reviews that spies on you while you take your test.

She can't even do basic math correctly. A quiet girl in the back was constantly correcting her math, she messed up basic adding and subtracting. Worked my ass off for this class and still only got a B, and if you walk in a minute late she gets annoyed. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR

Prof Buck does not teach this course well, which is tragic considering my ok past experience in her MAT125 course. She doesn't use enough examples and lectures from a PowerPoint, which is not linked to the textbook or HW. The final grade is reached by adding 15% from HW, 25% Final Exam, and 30% each from your two best of three (non-final) tests.

Worst teacher ever. Only does silent videos to teach math. Math teachers should be engaging. If you want to fail this is the teacher for you.

this teacher teaches everything through a youtube video , very snarky and rude with students.

She is extremely rude and snarky she makes fun of students for not being "smart" she makes a scene if you're late by rolling her eyes and slamming her computer closed after she takes your attendance she teaches by using youtube videos she does not explain a problem when she is doing it she says arithmetic matters but can't do it herself

worst professor i've had, she is contradicting and teaches like she hates her job. she'll sigh and scoff and even refuse to go over the homework questions even if SHE asked us if we had any more questions. will do one thing and then say the complete opposite. i have one F and six B+, my overall average is still an F ?!?!?!?

don't take her class, she turns simple topics into rocket science

I had experienced a loss a quarter into the semester, emailed her midsemester about how I was concerned about passing since my grades got lower and explained why, I asked for some guidance and she said something akin to figure it out yourself. I had asked for help and explanations on the subject before but she just told me to "focus more".

very cold, doesn't like her job. Her passion is to see students fail. Very monotone voice and extremely difficult not to space out. Her phone went off, and it was dogs dying/very inappropriate. Very disrespectful and clearly is tired of working. A teacher who should consider retirement
