Mrs. Frenzel is by far one of the most helpful, down to Earth professors I have ever had. She gives tons of extra credit and is very straight to the point. Her lectures are very funny and she loves story telling, her pop quiz are very simple usually one or two questions. She does not try and confuse you. I look forward to taking her again!
Gives lots of extra credit and short pop quizzes.
I really liked her class. The "textbook" you need is more like a book of powerpoint slides, not expensive at all, but you'll definitely need it. Gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit. She's pretty funny and tries to make things relatable to what we know. Lots of vocab and memorization. If you have an A you DON'T have to take the final :D
Mrs. Frenzel is an amazing professor. Very enthusiastic about the subject. Provides additional feedback and facts about the topic being learned, just because she is knowledgeable of the subject. Gives a TON of extra credit. Tests aren't hard, if you study. I would definitely recommend going to class, especially because it is just fun.
Leslie was AMAZING! By far one of my favorite professors so far! She gives lots of extra credit so as long as you pay attention in class, you're bound to get an A. She tells you exactly what you need to know for the tests and hints when her next quiz will be (there were 10 pop quizzes total). Definitely buy the course packet!
I would definitely take this class again. Enjoyed going to lecture. Easy A
Dr. Frenzel is so funny and really helpful. I dont know how anyone could not get an A in her class. She holds a review session before each test, GO to those and you essentially have an A or a high B. Buy the course pack and be prepared for pop quizzes (she normally hints at when those are and sometimes they're just based on attendance.)
She is extremely funny and tells you exactly what you need to know. She gives quite a bit of extra credit opportunities out and overall the class isn't very hard. I would definitely recommend her she keeps everything up to date.
Dr. Frenzel tells lots of funny stories about her family and livestock experiences. There are pop quizzes, but she tells you before hand and gives all answers in class. She gives lots of extra credit and its easy points. As long as you go to class and reviews it should be an easy A. Always willing to help inside and outside of class.
She is so funny and her lectures are entertaining because she never hesitates to add her opinion in a light and humorous manner that spice up the lectures and draw you in. Very clear what is expected of you and offers many extra credit opportunities. You never go a class or conversation without a good laugh. Get to know her, she is a great person.
Dr. Frenzel is awesome. She gives a ton of extra credit opportunities, basically tells you what's going to be on the tests, tells you when pop quizzes will be, and makes lectures interesting. She always has funny stories to throw in too so they're not boring. She occasionally gives attendance checks that count for a quiz grade, so show up.
Fantastic professor. She gives a ton of extra credit - please take advantage of this because at the end of the semester you may find yourself a couple points short of an A and she will not offer any more. Gives very detailed review session before tests and tests are not too tough. Has pop quizzes, but aren't too tough either. 10/10 recommend.
Best professor I've ever had, extremely helpful and she actually cares about students learning. 11/10 if were being honest
great teacher, makes the class laugh. offers a lot of extra credit
I loooooove Dr. Frenze! I took ansc 107 as an elective, and she made me actually enjoy the subject! She's engaging with the class and really cares about her students. She presents the information in an interesting way and had a good sense of humor. She also gives a ton of extra credit and her tests are so straightforward. Easy A.
Dr. Frenzel is awesome! Decently easy class and interesting lectures. Gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit along with the 4 tests and an optional final if you have an A. Absolutely would take any class of hers in the future.
Professor Frenzel is by far one of my favorite professors. She gives an extreme amount of extra credit and makes class honestly quite enjoyable. Make sure to show up on days she hints that there will be pop quizzes, those do add up. Overall she is a great teacher and if you put in the basic amount of work, you should easily get an A.
She has to be the easiest professor at A&M. She gives at least 40 points of extra credit throughout the semester and the final is optional if you have an A. The tests are pure memorization and pretty easy. However, there are true or false pop quizzes, but most of the time she gives a pattern so just figure it out to make a 100! Great teacher!!!
Dr. Frenzel is an amazing prof that I would highly recommend to anyone. She makes the material fun with a light-hearted touch but is also very passionate about her work. Tests are difficult so you must work for your grade, but she does offer a lot of extra credit. Great grading policy and more than fair. Overall really neat lady!
Frenzel is a great professor. She teaches directly from the notes that you can buy from the bookstore, which is highly recommended. Tells you exactly what to circle, star, and highlight and offers great reviews for her tests. It's a very easy A class and the material is interesting too.
She's not a bad professor, but she's frustrating. It's a very easy class, but she's really hard to contact outside of class. I had to miss two class due to illness and I missed three quizzes (one was extra credit for attendence). It took me THREE WEEKS to get her to respond to my emails about making up the quizzes. Other than that, easy class.
This is an amazing and hilarious prof! She truly cares about your grade and gives many easy extra credit opportunities. There are 4 test and if you have an A, then you don't have to take the final.10 pop quizzes. Get the course packet, everything you need is all in there. She goes through and tells you what to study the day before the test.
If you have the chance to take Frenzel, seriously do it. I loved her class. She gives out lots of extra credit in class and her tests are pretty straight forward. She even goes over the notes and tells you what you need to know for the exams. Do your job and this class will be an easy A.
10/10 would recommend! Frenzel is awesome! Buy the course packet from the bookstore and go to class because there are 10 pop quizzes. She also gives a lot of random, easy extra credit points because she wants everyone to make an A. Tests are easy especially if you go to the class before the test because she tells you exactly what to study.
Lots of extra credit to get an A. Final is optional if you have an A by the 4th exam. Exams are pretty straight forward, but you definitely need to study. It's a lot of memorization. Everything is in the course notes so I got away with missing class, just make sure there won't be a pop quiz, but she is good at letting students know in advance.
She is one of the most hilarious professors I have ever had. She loves what she is teaching and gives so much extra credit that you have to basically do nothing in order to not get an A. If you go to class before the exams she will tell you what is on the test and it makes knowing what to study much much easier.
Dr. Frenzel is an amazing professor! Her class was fun, filled with hilarious stories, and educational! Attendence isn't mandatory but beware of pop quizzes. She also gives random extra credits so make sure you go to class as much as you can! She tells you exactly what will be on her exams so it should be an easy A as long as you are attentive.
Pop quizzes are random, so attendance is kind of mandatory. She does a review before each test and basically tells you what exactly to study. She is very kind and goofy. I would take if you just need a life science credit. The class is somewhat interesting and pretty easy if you just listen to her lecture.
Dr. Frenzel is the way to go. 10000%. I've never been good at science, I didn't ever care about science actually, but she changed that. I would not take this course without Frenzel.
An easy Science Credit and her lectures are very entertaining! Grading is based off of 4 Tests(if you have an A before the final you don't have to take it), in which she gives a quick review of exactly what is on the test, and 10 pop quizzes, so attendance is kinda mandatory. TONS OF EXTRA CREDIT
Absolutely loved having her and would definitely take her again. She tells you exactly what is on her test and gives tons of extra credit! She likes pop quizzes so going to class is important.
Dr. Frenzel is an amazing professor! If you have the chance to take her for 107, DO IT. She gives many quizzes throughout the semester but as long as you show up and pay attention, you should do fine. Gives tons of extra credit and also gives very detailed test reviews the lecture before your exam. I wish every prof had the enthusiasm that she has!
Dr. Frenzel was one of my favorite professors I have had so far. She is super easy to get along with, has great/ funny lectures, and is very knowledgable about her field. She tells you 100% of the material on the exams so it is very clear what you need to study. I'm not an ANSC major, but took this class for a science credit & it was an easy A!
Dr. Frenzel is an amazing professor. Her lectures are funny and she tells stories of her experiences in order to help you relate to the concepts. She is interactive and easy to talk to if you need help or just want to learn about campus. Her tests are easy as long as your listen during your lecture and her quiz questions are straight forward.
She is hands down the best prof I've had at A&M! If you go to class and take notes on the packet you will get an A. She randomly gives extra credit in class and there is extra credit for the tests. She's super understanding and is a fun to listen to and gives engaging lectures. If you can take her Animal Science 107 class, do it!
If you need a easy science credit, definitely take this class. There is 5 quizzes and 4 Test and one final. But if you get an A before the final, you exempt it. Make sure to go to class! She randomly gives extra credit! Best way to study is to type the notes in quizlet and memorize. Everything she tells you to study, will be on the test.
Ditto what everyone else has said. She's super sweet and willing to break down information for you if you don't get it. She tells you what to expect for each test and there was so much extra credit, I needed a 12 on our last test to hold on to an A. Even if you don't know much about animals, this will still be a super simple science class for you!!
I'm a business major & took Ansc 107 as a science credit. It's definitely one of the easier science courses offered, however, I still went to every class & studied for every test in order to get an A. She gives so much extra, and makes the lectures more interesting. She tells you everything that'll be on the test, however it's still a lot of info
Loved this class! I took it as an easy science credit. She makes class interesting and FUN! Offers a ton of extra credit. She tells you most of the stuff that will be on each exam. Tests are easy if you go to class and study. One of my fav professors here at A&M. Final is optional if you have 450/500 points after the last test.
Dr. Frenzel is an amazing professor. I would definitely recommend taking her class!! She doesn't like it when people don't come to class, so she sometimes gives extra credit on days when not a lot of people are there.
Honestly you don't actually have to go to class to pass, but why would you skip on a professor as great as Frenzel? Her lectures are hilarious and relatable, and the stories she tells connect the material really well. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT. I'm about to take an exam that I need a 29% on to get an A in the class because of it. ANSC 107 is great tbh.
I had NO animal science/agricultural background before taking this class but Dr. Frenzel's lectures and notes were so great that my lack of knowledge did not hinder me in any way. If you need an easy science credit, definitely take ANSC107 with Dr. Frenzel! She is hilarious, truly wants you to succeed and learn, and is very generous with EC.
Dr. Frenzel is one of the nicest prof I have had. This class is the definition of an easy A. She is so giving with extra credit, I made 2 C's and 2 B's on her tests and I was still excluded from the final and received an A in the class. A very interesting class if one is interested in animals. 5 "pop" quizzes and 4 tests. Great class.
Frenzel is an amazing professor. You will need to buy the required textbook to do well. She gives out an insane amount of extra credit. If you have an A before the final than you are except. You do not necessarily have to go to class but I recommend you do or else you'll miss a pop quiz or you will be unprepared for a pop quiz.
Dr. Frenzel is an awesome prof, very funny and cares about her subject. The tests can be overwhelming with the amount of information you have to study, but she tells you everything on it. I went into this class thinking I wouldn't really have to study, learned from my mistake after the first test. Offers an insane amount of extra credit.
Dr. Frenzel is an amazing professor. She takes what could be a dry lecture and adds humor into it. I loved this class and am not even an animal science major. Her exams are straight from her lectures. I would definitely take another class from her again.
Great prof and does care about students, she can be fun and overall great to be around
she is the best prof I've had! she loves what she teaches and makes class fun even if it isn't your major. Tests are exactly the review and straightforward. she gives so much extra credit and you don't have to take the final if you have an A beforehand! overall very sweet, if you're looking for an easy A this is the class to take
I loved this class so much! Frenzel is an amazing professor and will really try to make you understand the information. I have an AG background so this class didn't require a lot of studying for me. Very easy A. There is one group project but I never once met with my group so it shouldn't be something to worry about. Lots and lots of extra credit!!
Great professor! She's fun and her lectures are interesting. Tests are pretty easy, but most of them are primarily true/false. Just study the slides.
The easiest class I've taken in college. She offered almost 10 points added to our overall grade from extra credit for coming to class. Getting a B or lower is harder than getting an A bc just skimming the notes the night before and morning of is sufficient. Also, she says the notepack/textbook is changed every semester, but it really wasn't.
Yeah this class is not as easy as everyone said, she had to make it harder this semester because the department got on her for giving out too many As. Don't take as a blowoff.
While I like Prof Frenzel a lot, her class was not an easy A like I was told it would be. The tests have a lot of information and some tricky true/false questions. She will say she is posting a quiz Monday at 5pm and post it Tuesday at 11pm. Sometimes the way she records grades in ecampus is confusing. Barely any extra credit. buy copy of slides
the tests require a lot of memorization. i wouldn't take if you arent an ANSC major, take a KINE or POSC instead. this class was way harder than everyone said. you used to not have to take the final if you had an A but she changed that this semester. she is a great prof, though
As a Prof she is great but for a freshman level class and a class where most people are here because it is taken for an elective its a little too serious. Each test will have 80 questions while the final has 100 questions (haven't taken a 100 question final since high school). If you aren't an ANSC major don't take this its a waste of time.
This is the hardest class Ive ever taken. She doesnt offer any extra credit like she used to. Exams are 70 plus questions and requires a lot of work.
Fairly easy A, a lot of memorization but completely doable. She is an amazing professor and extremely helpful. Her tests are very straightforward and do not try to trick you, they are almost exactly the same as in class lecture notes.
She changed her entire course so now there's no extra credit, a mandatory final, a group project and at least 10 busy work assignments. She also crams way too much info into an exam and is terrible at getting back to your emails. The semester is a week from over and she still hasn't graded at least 6 assignments that I turned in a month ago.
Dr. Frenzel is one of the most passionate profs I have met. She truly cares about her student's success inside the class and out, even when she's super busy. If you don't have a background in agriculture this class could seem tough, but you're in college to learn. I had a bit of background knowledge so this class was an easy A.
Although she did change her course, this wasn't her fault and rather it was the department asking her to make the course a bit harder. It was still fairly easy and honestly just showing up to class will help out, although I did skip a couple of times. She offers extra credit periodically, and her lectures are okay, just study the course packet.
As a person she's great! However, she got in trouble for too much extra credit opportunities and now only gave one this semester. The class was changed to make it be harder. My advisor told me to take this for an easy A class but with the changes it is very difficult. I recommend taking a different class if you are looking for "A's". Heavy on tests
Frenzels a really nice professor who genuinely cares, but her class is a different story. Its not hard (the 4 exams and quizzes are straight off her slides), its just an absurd amount of material for a 100 level class. She also took way too long to grade assignments. Not an easy A, but if you set aside time to study the notes youll be fine.
Reading the reviews when I signed up for this class made me believe that I was going to never study and make an easy A, but that wasn't the case. I studied more for this class than I did for the classes that were actually supposed to be hard. I ended up squeaking out an A, but it wasn't without pouring hours and hours of studying for tests.
Dr. Frenzel was always high energy, enthusiastic, and showed that she was happy to be teaching. She was very clear in her explanations and always cheerful. She would go in depth about certain topics and it would really benefit the class. She is awesome, easy grader too. You should get the textbook as it has everything you need, I didn't buy it.
I am surpirised to see all of these good reviews I have never had a professor be more unresponsive or late in grading than she is. I am not sure why she is behind, she doesnt teach lectures but just sits there while speakers talk. It doesnt matter how many times you reach out to her, she will not respond. THis class is USELESS save your money.
Very unresponsive and very slow at grading. Class is a waste unless youre going to vet school. She is clearly not up to caliber of what students should expect at Texas A&M. Unprofessional and brash.
Mrs. Frenzel is really sweet. Her exams hold the most weight in the class, but they are all based off of memorization and she even explicitly tells you what will be on each exam during her lectures.
She was always very excited to lecture and her enthusiasm made me stay engaged. She does grade very slow, for example my group project took about a month and a half to grade. This is only a 100 level class and is a ridiculous amount of material but that isn't her fault. She always created a quiz and reviewed before the test so you were prepared.
Make sure to pay attention and take good notes!
Frenzel is the worst professor I have had, her teaching consists of reading verbatim from slides and telling you what to underline in your notes. She acted kind early in the semester but slowly turned rude and unprofessional. Half of your emails are not responded to and her grading is full of mistakes which takes months to fix sometimes.
Dr. Frenzel is hands down my favorite professor I have taken at A&M. She does so much for the department and stretches herself so thin, but that just shows how much she cares for the students. Grades might take awhile to come in, but when it matters she is extremely reliable, passionate and willing to help anyone.
Awesome professor. Tells you what to underline which will definitely be on the exams. The exams are verbatim the slides in the packet, read over them/ memorize them and you will do fine. If you cannot get her on email, she will always talk to you before or after class. She is also very passionate about meat science.
Lectures from powerpoint slides but tells you what notes to put with them or what to underline. Very straight forward on what will be on test. You do have to study some and try for tests and quizes but it is very do-able. Will help you if you have any questions or confused on anything.
The class is incredibly easy however frenzel does silly things messing up your grade. Often shed be unclear on hw and the entire class would have to resubmit corrections. Lectures are unnessary if you study before tests. Office hours are by appointment only and shes not too helpful in them. Id definitely recomend a different proffesor.
Having taken both Ramsey and Frenzel before, Frenzel is definitely the better choice. She is much more clear about what will be on exams and doesn't have pop quizzes. Exam questions were hard, and exams require lots of studying. Not an easy A
This is one of the best summer classes I have ever taken! Your grade will be based off of the 5 quizzes and the Final Exam, each worth 100 points. If you listen to the lectures and take notes you should be great! Professor Frenzel grades super quickly and answers emails very fast (for a professor). She is super nice, and loves to teach this class.
With no exams and grade determined by assignments, a group project and weekly quizzes simply doing your work and watching the lecture videos will undoubtedly lead to getting an A for this course. Quizzes are a bit fast paced but its all open notes so its not too bad and assignments and project are easy if you don't procrastinate.
Dr. Frenzel is awesome. Her lectures cover exactly what is on the weekly quizzes, and they are open notes. You should be familiar with the material beforehand though, because the quizzes are timed. There is 1 quiz a week, 5 assignments throughout the semester, and a group project, but it's not hard. Watch the lectures and you will do fine.
Easiest science credit you'll ever get. Tests are on quizlet so just study those and you'll get an A. There is a group project but I barely spoke to my peers and we got a 100%. There are 5 "assignments" that take 5 minutes tops and you will get a 100% if you just do it. Lectures are optional if you really want to learn the material. Best class ever
This class was mainly uploaded lectures and then quizes, then a handful of assignments. You had a single group project with multiple steps, but it wasn't bad at all. Dr. Frenzel was great, you could tell in her lectures that she cared about her students as well as what she was teaching. Great Prof, highly recommend her for ANSC 107.
Asynchronous was so easy I put in 30-45 minutes every week and have an A. group project was the easiest project I have ever done. 10/10 recommended for an easy elective.
She is the best professor ever! If you are thinking about taking a course with her please do so, I promise you wont regret it! I learned so much and had so much fun doing so.
Quiz every week so pay attention/take notes during lectures. They make up a big portion of your grade so if you do good, youre set. No tests, just quizzes, 5 easy assignments, and a group project. Super easy and great prof!
Asynchronous class with weekly quizzes and assignments that didn't require too much work. Get the required book. One group project that wasn't too much work. I think there was also extra credit opportunities in the end. She definitely made online learning a whole lot easier for the students, which is rare these days!
No exams. SO freaking easy. Worst part was the group project and that was still not that bad. She even offered extra credit. DON'T buy the book. You don't need it. There are quizlets for you to study that are online and easy!
Easiest class Ive EVER taken. This was online and combined with another ANSC class. There were no tests, just easy quizzes (that allowed two attempts) and a group project. We did the group project in one day and got a 100. Take this class!
How passionate she is about the subject she teaches and how eager she wants everyone to learn.
