she's very intelligent, but nothing's right unless she agrees with it.

Don't take the Honors section -- the group sessions served no purpose.

Terrible professor. Nazi-testing procedure which is completely unnecessary, tests are never on info you expect, always lets out late. i can't believe this wonderful dept. has kept her on staff. and i agree criticism of current govt taints teaching.
the hottest professor HANDS DOWN!! so interesting not because of the material but because you wont be able to stop looking at her!! tests are a piece of cake and you dont need to go to lectures to get an easy A, but youll want to because she is so hot!!

Terrible teacher, shouldn't be allowed to teach an intro course, rambling & incoherent lectures, combative, aguementative and overly opinionated. Doesn't like to answer questions. Seizure-enducing wardrobe is hilarious. My TA ruled though

Absolutely crazy!!! impossible to talk to very combative and confusing in the process. Absentminded,,forgets about things and loses things like it is her job,,,oh yeah it is her job and she is terrible at it!
Forget what others say, tests are easy as long as you go to class and take notes. Definitely able to get an A or at least a B. Problem is most people who rate the prof take the class and arent interested in Poly Sci. Going to discussion section a must.
This class is easy if you study a little and attend the Discussion sections. Get to know your TA, they are the ones that write the exams.. There is no way to get less then a B, unless you tick off the TA.
This was an interesting class for me, but I'm also a poly sci major. I wouldn't reccomend it if your not one. Tests are kinda difficult, so go to discussion. Don't raise your hand in class because what you have to say is probably wrong

Class is easy and informative as long as you are interested in the material; don't take it if you don't care about politics. Predictable tests. She is intimidating, but very helpful and more personable if you go to her office hours.

This was the most horrible professor I have encountered in my years here at UD. Pre-Law people...I feel sorry for you...guess who the pre-law advisor is... ;-)
She sucks big time!! Her outfits are hideous... she can't match for her life. She drags out class.. very boring and doesn't like anyone to disagree w/ her God forbid! She hates conservative people... very liberal. Don't take her classes she sucks!
STAY AWAY!!!!! She is very unclear in her instructions. You won't know what she expects of you, but she will grade you solely on her expectations. She's rude to her students and likes to embarass people in class. If you take her class you'll regret it.
Yeah she's not the best teacher and she is boring...but her class was one of the easiest I've had here. The lowest grade I got on a test was a 95% and you don't have to be a politcal science major to actually enjoy it

Gives out exam questions before the exam, very easy. Interesting and challenging class. There's a lot of readings but she's very thorough in explaining what you don't get. I enjoyed this class a lot.
incredibly intelligent. very knowledgable in her field but is humble (will tell you if she doesnt know answer) is a hard grader but that benefits you in the end. can not bs her class to get good grade. must study hard. discussion groups were waste of time bc i didnt pay 800 to hear students opinon.
Very poor communicator. Frequently misunderstood students questions. Assigned books she admitted she had not read. More interested in spelling and punctuation than content. Better qualified to teach at the gradeschool level.

listen, when you take this level course you have to expect that it will be difficult and it was. But she is a great teacher and although the course is centered around you teaching yourself I did learn a lot form her. If you are a serious student, take as many classes with her as you can. Ryan secrest out.
If you are serious about school, take any class you possibly can with this woman. She is very intelligent and well educated. Whatever bad things have been said about her were by people who obviously don't put any effort into school and expect to get good grades. You may have to work hard but it will only pay off in the end.
At first, I thought I could escape this class with just doing the minimum readings. Not the case at all. This course forced me to put forth more effort and, although she is a hard grader, you walk out of that class a better student. Incredibly intelligent as well. I highly recommend her for any POSC class.
I would aviod her if possible. Her lectures were a waste of time. She is almost a week behind in the syllabus. Very intelligent and very nice lady but I won't be taking her again. I feel the grading was a bit unfair.

I've dropped soap in a prison shower before, and I'll say this, I'd definitely rather sit in Goldstein's class. The lady knows her stuff. If your lazy and don't want to do the work, don't bother. But if your interested and want to get the most out of your parents money instead of wasting it on Sue Davis and the like take her class. It's worth it.

this professor is AWFUL. she has absolutely no personality, she's SO unnecessarily rude, she hates you if you dont participate but she makes you feel stupid if you do. plus she has no idea what she's talking about. i would advise NEVER taking her.
though very knowledgable, she is still the worst prof i have ever had. her grading is unfair. she is all over the place in class. expects you to participate in class, then sometimes belittles you. not approachable, not interesting at all. get this-blamed students for not having book when bookstore sold out!

very hard teacher, very hard class, very hard tests, lots and lots of reading of supreme court decisions(obviously not fun). if you can, avoid this class and this teacher. although she is extremely smart, she is unorganized and all over the place. i give her a thumbsdown
her 403 may be hard, but she makes 285 pretty easy.everthing you need to know she gives you in lecture, you can get away with cliff's notes for the readingg (even though they're interesting), and you meet with the TA's in groups which clarify things and get you ready for the exams...exams are essays and the class isn't bad!
She is great. Just pay attention and take good notes. Will force you to think for yourself, hoever, so not an easy A. But if you do no want to work, why are you in college?
i love goldstein! she is great professor who is a series academic. take her and you will become a life long learner
...one of the most uncompromising professors ive ever met. And she has her TA grade your work, so basically her teaching has nothing to do with what you get in the class because it's all based on the ta's interpretation. do not take this class if your looking to boost your GPA... she's stuck in her old ways.
Had her for both 285, 434 theory classes and also constitutional law with a gender topic. Take her only if you like political theory prior to class, do not expect her to instill that interest in you. A's ARE possible, i've gotten 3. Just take her interpretation of the texts, memorize quotations to back that interp. up, & always show up hand raised.
I breathe a sigh of relief for any current UDel students as it appears she has retired. I graduated in 2011 and I still remember her and tell people about my experience in her course because she is the worst professor I've ever had. She fancied herself a Ruth Bader Ginsburg and treated poor 200-level students to condescension and derision.
