I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HER!! She is a wonderful teacher! She explains literary concepts by applying them to actual life experiences. I loved her "boring personal stories." She lets you re-write essays if you do badly, and does everything in her power to help you get an A. I'm hoping to take her for my upper level classes as well.

My most favorite teacher. She made my humanities class my favorite of the semester. I was always present because she made class exciting. I completely recommend her as your next teacher.

Dr.Harrelson is my all time favorite teacher. I enjoyed every class because she made it fun, and interesting. Listening to her read poetry was amazing. She really made poetry come alive, and easy to understand. Her personal stories were hilarious. I would take her for any class. She is the best!

A great teacher, very witty and alot of fun. You will not be bored in class. You must read given assignments to do well though. My only criticism, is that she doesn't always explain tasks very well, or in depth, as to what see wants from you.

She is a good teacher. She makes the class interesting with personal stories, but tends to get off subject. She gives the option of rewrites but never returns any papers for you to rewrite and doesn't post grades. So if you want to know how you're doing you have to talk to her personally. Very easy class, didn't learn anything new.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr. Harrelson. She's very outgoing, has TONS of experience and has traveled and experienced a lot. I'd love to have her for every class.

She is a very easy teacher. She treats everyone like they don't know how tor write at all...which is helpful for some. Uses the textbook in class almost everyday for little assignments. If you want an easy A, definitely take her.

AWESOME!! Dr. Harrelson is a very easy going professor!! She lets you rewrite every essay she grades and retake any grammar quizzes that you take in class!! She relates almost everything to a personal experience or something in the news when teaching the class!! If you are looking for a great teacher and an easy grade definitely take her!!

I love this woman. Perhaps my favourite teacher at DSC. She is brilliant, imaginative, helpful, slightly eccentric, and terribly funny. She provides relevant and modern examples to clarify concepts. Tests are easy and she is an understanding essay grader. Attendance is important, but I can't imagine anyone not wanting to attend. Take her classes.

Amazing teacher whose specialty is British Literature. Must attend class. Class discussions and readings are always interesting. She provides many different choices for essay questions and honestly wants you to succeed. May wander off topic sometimes, but everything is covered in due time. A most lovely lady.

Dr. Harrelson has much compassion for her students. She understands what it's like to be a student working for what they may want. Dr. Harrelson truly wants to bring the best brain out in someone. If people would actually take classes seriously, then they would see that it's not about easiness, they're about bringing out the best in a person.

I loved this class and I adore this professor. She's probably my favorite one at Dalton State. I can't wait to see if she teaches more upper-level classes soon!

Mrs. Harrelson is my favorite teacher at DSC! She keeps class interesting even if you are discussing the most boring subjects. She is funny and extremely helpful. If you ever need anything from her she will take time aside to sit and just talk with you. I'm taking a Humanities class in the summer just to have her as a teacher again!

She was an extreamly helpful professor. she was willing to go above and beyond to help. slightly scattered but basically gave you everything you needed. you will use your book alot. lets you re-type papers for a better grade. she gives funny relivant examples from her life. very funny.

Dr.Harrelson is great she met with me anytime I needed to speak with her. If you want a teacher who cares about you learning to write without making you feel dumb...take her. Her lectures are great! I will be taking her in fall 2013 because I enjoyed her class so much. I highly recommend her and Dalton State is lucky to have her Talent.

Dr. Harrelson is one of Dalton State's best teachers. She is helpful and more than willing to answer any questions. I feel like she made the material so interesting. She responded to emails/texts even on the weekend. I have the upmost respect and admiration for Dr. Harrelson. She is the best!

Dr. Harrelson is for the students. She definitely loves to make us laugh and keep us interested. She is very determined to bring out the best in each and every one of her students. This is an easy class, attendance isn't mandatory, but she does give out a lot of work and answers a lot of questions. No tests, just a few quizzes, and lots of papers.

Had her for Brit Lit 2, I wasn't crazy about the class but Dr. Harrelson always explains things and doesn't make you feel dumb. She's very passionate about the stories. Duality is important! She also is big on class participation

Wonderful professor! Really tries to make it easy for you to understand the themes of literature and this class. Come to class with a knowledge of what you will be discussing in class. She really made me like literature.

I had to take this class as a requirement, and I didn't know what to expect of the material. It's actually fairly interesting, and that's coming from someone who hates anything history. Dr. Harrelson is definitely the reason it is a decent class. She is so funny, and she is also very helpful and will do anything for her students. She's VERY upbeat.

The best professor I have ever had. She is respectful, patient, compationate and highly favorable. She will proof read essays as many times as you like before the due date. Reviews before every test and she doesn't try to trick you with deceptive questions. She is Absolutely a wonderful professor and person wish I could have her for every subject.

Dr. Harrelson is awesome. Her lectures are always interesting and insightful. She is the most accessible teacher I have ever had. On her tests, it is important to think outside the box and when she asks a question in class more than once, it means it will be on the final. The final isn't terms, it is describing and analyzing quotes from the book.

Absolutely amazing. Got help on my paper at 8:30 at night the night before it was due and she didn't care to help. Tests were open book. She is very inspirational with her stories that relate to what we are reading about. Take her! It will be the best lit class you ever take.

Amazing teacher! She is great! She is always so sweet and always seem to be in a good mood. You can always count on her to help you out in any way. She also is easy to access out of class. A lot of reading assignments BUT I didn't and I received an A. "Quizzes every class" she said! Just answer her questions during class and no quizzes.

Dr. Harrelson was an incredible teacher. Each essay was graded and handed back to us to correct (including the research paper). I thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Harrelson and her enthusiasm! If possible, I will take her again.

Professor Harrelson is so sweet and really does her best to make sure each student is accomodated to the very best of her ability. Humanities is not an area I am interested in at all but she really lectures so well that I forget I hate the class. Wonderful professor and a real sweet person.

Dr Harrelson is one of the best teachers I had at DSC. She made humanities one of the most interesting classes I ever took so far. Be sure to understand the notes you take in class to easily pass tests. She also assigns a research project that is not even hard. She had flexible office hours so she can know and help you much better.

Dr Harrelson made world literature one of the best classes I took at DSC so far. The way she taught class helped my have a good interest in literature. Read the assigned works to get good grades on quizzes. For the research paper, office hours are totally recommended because she can proofread your paper before turning in the final draft.

Dr. Harrelson is really great! She makes the literature come to life and always relates it to everyday life. But she can be VERY scatter-brained and unclear with her expectations. So be prepared to take initiative. Participate and READ! Definitely would recommend her, though. She is so sweet and accommodating!

Dr. Harrelsons class is so easy to pass. Show up and youll do fine. She is very scattered and you will have to double check with her multiple times about what is required. So easy though. She pushed back research paper by 2 weeks like 3 different times just because we asked. Really nice lady.

probably one of the most easiest classes ive taken. everything was based off the book and she even gives a study guide for the quizzes. midterm and final were super easy, she also gives 2 attempts on the quizzes! this class was super laid back given that it was an online class. i would take her again.

She's very energetic. I loved her and her class. She was very easy to work with whenever I asked for a deadline extension. Few assignments, and it was very obvious of what she expected from you. Very kind.

Amazing professor. Truly teaches like she cares about your own personal development. Class was graded via 4 major papers and a midterm+final, midterm+final were not difficult so your essays would display your grade. Papers were not difficult either as she would look at your drafts and give you feedback on how to improve them for a better grade.

Professor Harelson has been one of the best professors I have had so far. She is super friendly and funny and very easy to contact outside class. Although attendance is mandatory, she is very helpful in class and will give you extensions if you need them.

Dr. Harrelson is like Ms. Frizzle, but the fieldtrips are her personal stories. The class is exciting, and when you are willing to participate in class discussion time flies by. She can be chaotic at times, but her lectures and accessibility are unmatched. Take note of due dates and ask questions. She isn't "easy." She just knows how to teach.

Dr. Harrelson is probably my favorite professor I've had at DSC - I even considered changing my major (despite being three years in!) She is very kind, funny, and knowledgeable and if you don't know something right away she'll give you the benefit of the doubt and help you. I hope I get to take another one of her classes before I graduate.

My first language is not English but that was not a challenge for me in her class, my level of writing in English grew significantly thanks to her help. She is very kind and funny, everyone in the class likes her, and I wouldn't take any other English class with any other teacher than her. I really recommend to everyone to take her class.!!

Professor Harrelson is very fun! I have the ADHD brain, and so does she, so she was easy to follow for me; if that is not you, the professor may not be the best fit for you, but I would give her a chance! She is lively and cares deeply about what she is teaching! When I took her Spring of 2024, all of her tests were online as well as the final!

Highly recommend Dr. Harrelson. She is super sweet and caring. She is a little bit scatterbrained and doesn't give clear instructions a lot of the time. Only had one essay, midterm, and final. Her lectures are super interesting, but attendance is not mandatory.

She normally lets us out early she is a great professor and has a great personality, I normally don't like English, but she has a personality that works with it. She does grade on if you talk in class, it's not as bad as it sounds sometimes, she will ask how you day is so you can't get the points. She is awesome!

Dr. Harrelson has been my favorite English teacher to date. The way she teaches is engaging and the relaxed atmosphere of the class has allowed me to appreciate these readings much more than I would otherwise. Your grade is influenced by class participation but it's not bad. The class has a quiz for each story as well as three major essays.
