GREAT
WAY TOO EASY TO THE POINT YOU ARE NOT LEARNING ANYTHING, SHE CANCELLED OUR QUIZES BECAUSE PEOPLE WERE NOT PASSING...
Mrs. Hendricks is such a great, amusing teacher. She made a subject that I absolutely loathe understandable, and I passed with a decent grade. She gives you weekly quizzes for easy points and makes sure everyone understands anything she teaches.
tells corny jokes
i liked the class. all the notes were clear. the study guide was your notes which was the test. Test were easy since u knew what was going to be on them. And i really liked her as a teacher
She is really interested in what she teaches and her enthusiasm is cute. She does not move on unless everyone is on the same pace. I would recommend this professor to students who love biology and even hate it. Fun class!
She was a great teacher! She is hilarious and she doesn't mean to be. Very easy quizzes, gives a study guide for mid term and final.
I've taken Mrs. Hendricks twice already and would do so again if I could. She's a great teacher with a good attitude that she should pass on to other teachers. She was enthusiastic about what she was teaching and is so amusing in every class. Take her for every biology that you can.
I LOVED HER! She moved at a very easy pace and made sure that everyone knew what she was talking about before she moved on. She gave homework assignments which really did help in alot of people's overall grade. We didn't even have to take notes. Just had to fill in the blanks on the outline she posted of the lecture for the next day.
easy class.. she gives you the notes, just go to class and fill in the blanks..
loved this teacher. she was really easy the outline that she gives is the best idea. i totally recomend this teacher.
she is an excellent teacher! she gets into when she teaches and definitely knows what she's doing! gives u a lab report but, u get to go back and correct it! but, beware! she gives quizzes EVERY week!
She isd an energetic and fun teacher. She knows the material and is very helpful. Funny while doing the labs, and will not move on till everyone knows what they are doing. I ended up with a B in the class, coulda been an A but I slacked off. Great teacher take her. Study for the quizzes major part of the class. Gives bonus also. TAKE HER!!!
Ms. Hendricks is an AWESOME teacher! Her enthusiasm for biology is absolutely wonderful and makes taking this class MUCH easier--even for those who don't like science to begin with. She treats all of her students with respects and is willing to help those who will help themselves. WONDERFUL teacher!
Test come from lecture and notes. If you go to class you won't fail. Without trying I got a B so a little effort will get you a long way...
worst teacher i have ever had!!!
do not pick this teacher. does not cover information on test!
I absoutely loved this teacher! I got an A in the class and the hardest thing we ever did was write one lab report and she gave us a second chance to fix our mistakes and get a better grade. I recommend her to everyone!!
She has no clue what is going on. She asked us quiz questions that didn't make sense. She couldn't answer some of our questions and she didn't grade fairly. Avoid her.
Very helpful. Follow her lectures and write everything she writes on the board and you'll have an A!
The course started with around 25 students and ended with 10. It's common for her to get the names of the structures mixed up making the class confusing; She takes forever to post quiz grades, grades hard, and if you ask her a question, she'll answer it for you but not before she makes you feel retarded.
Do not take for ZOO251. She literally read straight from the book. The questions on the test didn't make sense. Most of the time the correct answer was not even a choice. We ended up with 8 people left in the class.
She's a nice lady but not a good teacher. She give 5 question quizzes so if you miss one its automatically a B. On most of the quizzes there was one question everyone was kind of looking at each other like "that wasn't in our notes" so you can pretty much expect a B at most on the quizzes. She never posts grades!!
Not the WORST teacher ever, but I Do not recommend to take her! She gives bad notes, and there is a quiz every class which are only about 5 questions! She NEVER posts grades on Bb, and she takes over a month to grade a lab report! Oh, and she says "jokes" that are not funny at all, but she thinks they are. Take another teacher if possible.
Very nice and funny. Class is easy if you study for the midterm and final.
Quizzes each week are ridiculous b/c there always at least 1 question on there she never talked about! Never can make above a B on them. She is pretty unclear on what to study. The labs are interesting sometimes.
I love her! I recommend her to everybody. Her quizzes arent too hard, its a lot of common sense. She gives pretty good notes & her tests are SUPER easy! She's pretty funny and sweet too. She's a little slow with the grading, but oh well
Very nice, but unfortunately that is not what makes a good teacher in college. She can not answer questions because she only knows what is in her notes. It is easy to make a "B" but you will never know what your grade is because she does not post them! Finals week and she has not posted anything since midterms! Tests are not consistent! RUN!!!
Very slow with grading. She is nice lady, but I wouldn't take her again.
Very nice teacher. as long as u study the notes and pay attention in class you should make a good grade. if u need help she will easily answer questions and explain things further if u need her to. shes funny an kpt me intrested
I love Mrs. Hendricks. She is so funny and interesting to listen to. She will have you laughing all class. She gives quizzes on the material covered the week before so look over your notes before each class. Her class is very easy.
Nice Lady, but never grades says she has to many other more important things to do than grade, she will work with you if you need help though, Not an easy class only take if you are self motivated
She was a nice lady but not a good teacher!! It was alot of information and the test or confusing!!!
She is willing and encourages students to stay after to go over the material that has given during that instruction(10 min top). She tells her students to write everything out when studying. She quizzes every class. If taken seriously you can get an A. I studied when I could and found the class to be easy. Taking forever to grade final though.
She is one of the best biology teachers I have had. Very nice and will spend time in class if you do not understand. Go to class thug and take notes. Tests come straight from the notes. It is biology so you HAVE to study.
I loved having Mrs. Hendricks as my Biology 152 professor, she was passionate about her teaching and was really funny and sweet as well! She gives quizzes every week though so just study material from the lab done the week before and you should be fine. Her mid term and final were easy and you only have to write one lab report.
Mrs. Hendricks is such a sweet woman. She's very helpful and her lectures are clear as day. She's so enthusiastic about Biology, which keeps the class interesting. She gives small quizzes before each class. Don't worry, it's nothing hard. She's a wonderful teacher. I plan on taking her again and would recommend her to anyone!
Mrs. Hendricks is one of my favorite teachers at SELU. She goes above and beyond to make sure you understand the material bc she knows how overwhelming it can be. There's a quiz every week and a midterm and final exam which are all fill in the blank so be sure to study regularly. There is also an easy 10 pt bonus opportunity.
leslie hendricks really is not a bad teacher, although she really only reads from the power point. its most helpful if you read from the book the night before the next chapter she is going over. if you go to her you can receive help, but you have to be willing to study a lot. i would have rather her clarify a lot more but still not a bad teacher.
Uses the pictures and diagrams in the book sometimes, but all of her test material really comes from her power points and lecture. Her tests are not basic recall questions. They are higher level critical thinking questions so be prepared for more than memorizing the notes. Great person though and will answer all of your questions In class.
Mrs. Hendricks is really bad about reading straight from the slides. She is very unorganized with her powerpoint. She doesn't elaborate and her tests are really hard. She rarely puts grades in. She was one of the worst professors I have had. I would not recommend her to anyone.
Professor Hendricks was one of my least favorite professors. Sometimes she would confuse herself when trying to teach, and she is the teacher. She put no grades in until the night before they were due. She is very cut and dry. Definitely would not recommend taking this professor.
Mrs. Hendricks is a wonderful lady. She is always willing to help her students. Zoology lab is a difficult course because there is so much material to cover. Because of this, expect a quiz each week in her class. The quizzes force you to study and if you study, they can really help your grade. Overall i loved her and would take her again.
ZOO-L 252 is a very, very hard class--regardless of who your teacher is! Leslie Hendricks is a tough teacher, and do NOT expect and easy A...I found myself doing +10 hours of studying per week for this 1 hr course. This topics are dense, and the department made midterm and final are even denser. She is a hard teacher because she prepares you for it
I initially thought that she was great but she's something else. When you ask for help, she repeats what you already have written in your notes and tells you you should've been paying attention. Also very slow with grading, took 3 months on one particular assignment. Also, she doesn't make the labs clear to the lecture.
There was a 10 point quiz each week on the previous lab. There was also two tests. The final was not cumulative. Great information and tests reflected the lectures and labs. The only downfall was the slow grading. It took two months for the first lab report to be graded.
Super easy class. Just a simple outline of GBIO 151. There's a 10 point quiz every week, 3 lab report sections, midterm, and final. She is very slow at grading the lab reports taking upwards to two months. This could be a good thing because she'll push back the final lab report due date until she grades the first two. (4 extra weeks)
She was a terrible Zoo Lecture instructor. She changes her mind on how things are graded and what she'll give credit for. Very scattered brain and her tests were impossible. Class average was around 70 for every test, even though we had 300+ class quizlett cards for every test....
Go to class, always! Otherwise you will fall behind & fail.
I absolutely loved this class! There was a quiz at the beginning of every class, but she gives you hints so that you can get the correct answer. All of the experiments were fun and she tries to do them quickly so you're not always there for the whole class. She has an easy midterm and final and gives a study guide.
I loved this class and maintained a B all semeseter, until the final. I now have a C in the class and I emailed her about it and she didnt try helping me or anything. There are 5-10 question quizzes at the beginning of each class so be early or on time .Theres a midterm and a final, which include t/f, multiple choice, fill in blank and microscpe ?s
Mrs. Hendricks is a sweet lady, but sometimes she can be unclear. I asked her to clarify what part on the model she was talking about for a quiz and she wouldn't answer me because she was "afraid to give away the answer." Definitely not a bad professor if you can get past the fact that forgets somethings and grades slow.
Very good teacher class is just difficult. Get ready to do 2-5 hours of studying every week. Gives weekly quizzes but also gives extra credit and grades a few assignments that you work on in class. Over all very good teacher I thought!
Mrs. Hendricks was a good professor for the most part. The course itself is pretty hard to teach because there is so much information to absorb all at once. She's a tough grader and gives pop quizzes daily, but as long as you study the material thoroughly you should do fine. I would recommend her.
I would not take Leslie Hendricks. She gives quizzes ever class and she does not allow you any opportunity to raise your grade. Never take her!
she has quizzes every class but doesn't give you the correct material to study for them. she's a sweet lady, but her teaching style was not for me. she also doesn't allow any opportunities to bring up your grade. and she takes forever to put in grades so you never know what you actually have in the class until it's too late.
I don't mind teachers who are lecture heavy but she not only lectures from notes she has revised over the years but doesn't give access to her notes and expects you to go by those notes and not the book. She confuses herself constantly & she dumbs down the material in class but the tests are not dumbed down. She makes easy material difficult.
She is all over the place and never answers questions fully. If you study youll pass but you may have to teach yourself. She takes forever to grade everything!!!!
I had her for both the lecture and lab for zoo 2 and honestly she was amazing. While the class in general is difficult, she makes it much more bearable. She curves every test and genuinely wants her students to do well. She offers a lot of filler grades that are a good way to boost your grade and she also offers extra credit for her lab. lover her.
Professor Hendricks is AMAZING! She makes sure that you understand while she is teaching. She made ZOOLAB 253 very very easy! TAKE HER!
Inconsiderate. Assigns too much homework before tests. Youd be better off reading the book word for word because thats basically what she does. Teaches her class like its 1999 with lengthy outlines and doesnt give students access to her powerpoints. Acts like her class is the only class on your schedule and doesnt care about her students.
Her notes are never clear. She backtracks during lecture a lot. A lot of things get repeated that will never see on the test but will pull random material from the textbook. Do yourself and favor and stay clear of Professor Hendricks.
Makes this class way harder than it has to be. Be ready to take tests every week and pull your hair out. She will give you articles before the test to write while your already studying her ridiculous material while also having to do connect lessons. Makes her class impossible to pass. Worst teacher at SELU
Makes your write articles for each test. She is a tough grader and she will not help you if you go to her office. Just an all around bad person. Avoid her class at all costs.
Professor Hendricks is extremely lecture heavy and her lectures became more confusing the longer she talks. We had 4 tests including the final and two extra credit assignments. She does care about her students but her test are very difficult and cause her students to struggle to make a good grade. She is also very late with grading tests.
Caring. Doesn't want to see people fail. Offers extra credit and gave my class a second chance on a test vast majority failed. I cannot deny she is unorganized and scatter brained, but shes highly educated and simplifies some of the most complex definitions so you can understand. I enjoyed taking notes, but she does go fast. Pay close attention.
No Dr. Hendricks does not require attendance but this was obviously a lab and you would be hurting yourself more if you did not go. Quiz at beginning of class every week!!
Her class is kind of all over the place and tests are extremely hard. She is easy to get in touch with through email. Grading takes forever and lectures are so boring, and her class was virtual for this semester.
Quizzes every week and 100 pt midterm and final. It was virtual this semester, so for the midterm and final she gets you to log onto google meet and keep mic and camera on during the midterm and final.
ZOOL253 isn't really an easy subject, lots of memorizing. Go to class. She's very nice and easy to talk to. Quizzes help your grade a lot and she gives bonus opportunities. Tests aren't terrible just a lot of information. Don't study the day before a test. Only tests are midterm and final. I have had bad lab teachers. I recommend her!
I thought she was really nice. At times she was a little all over the place, but overall I felt that she was very clear in terms of explaining course material and what we would be tested on. Creating quizzes took a while, but unlike my last couple of lab teachers she at least had them. Both her quizzes and tests also weren't impossible, just a lot.
Slowest. Grader. Of. All. Time. Finished this course weeks ago and I'm still waiting on grades. Super sweet lady that truly cares about her students but sweetness is not what makes you a good teacher. Walks around answering your questions even if you ask multiple times & bad feedback. Save yourself the headache and take someone else for BIOL152.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! I only gave her a 1/5 because 0/5 isn't an option. By far the worst professor in my college career. Sweet lady though. Does not give feedback & grades incredibly slow. Bad grader. Takes way too much off for small errors. don't risk your GPA. It's hard to read her tone through writing because she ends every sentence like this...
She didnt like the virtual learning but she tried her best to get used it. Assignments were comprised of exams, online connect, & writing prompts. She only curved our first exam. The most difficult exam was the acid-bases one, which was the exam before the final. I had an A before but it dropped me to a B & I couldnt get back up to an A.
I took her virtual class. Tests were strictly lecture based
I took her for my Bio Lab and I wish I hadnt. Shes very nice and teaches the information well, but she grades so hard. She will really pick your assignments apart so you need to make sure what you turn in is perfect or you wont pass.
Very nice and energetic teachers. She keeps her students engaged by choosing random students to answer questions. The class is hard so study! Homework assignments and quizzes are fairly easy, just the midterm and final is very difficult.
She grades hard !! I took her for BIOL 152 & I have to retake. On our quizzes, midterm, ND FINAL she does not give the opportunity to go back and change your answer. I skipped a question on the final & FAILED. Definitely recommend someone else. She is very sweet though.
STUDY!!! She gives out pre-lab quizzes that are very poorly executed. I understand we need to take tests but the way she gave them was very poor. Ended up switching to us doing worksheets every week cause we were failing the quizzes. When I had covid she made sure I understood what I missed. Only grades are lab quizzes final and midterm. Super nice
Mrs. Hendricks was a great professor. She made understanding the material pretty easy. Make sure you study for pop quizzes at the beginning of each class. She also gives participation points that can help bring your grade up as well as bonus at the end of the semester.
I enjoyed taking this class with professor Hendricks as she gave great notes (which is what she recommends you study) that give you all the material you need in order to take the test. She gives many assignments to help with your grade such as article reports (1 page), homework, extra assignments.
Mrs.Hendricks is very sweet and caring. But she a hard grader. Takes off points for everything. She has weekly quizzes so go to your class or you will be confused. Have to make up quizzes doing exam after your forgot the material. only 2 test midterm and final. She gives a "review" very general. If you ask her for help she will help you.
ZOOL 253 is a difficult class in general, but this professor does a good job teaching the material. There are weekly quizzes on previously discussed material and 2 exams. A reason why this class is so difficult is due to her harsh grading and deducting points for minor misspellings among other reasons. She does offer a bonus assignment at the end.
This class is tough no matter who you take because there is a lot of studying involved. One quiz per week on what was learned last week, 10 write out answers it is not multiple choice. midterm and final are 50 questions. Her quizzes were easy if you memorize all the parts and study the info. She offered an easy bonus for 10 extra points. I got an A
This class was not hard for me just a lot of memorization.1quiz per week all written with no multiple choice. It was a little unfair for the spelling taking off points on quizzes and exams. Midterm and final around 50 questions. Bonus opportunity 10 points. Just study, study , study the manual every day and you will be fine.
Mrs. Hendricks is a great teacher. She is caring and willing to help. Bio in general is very complex so she tries her best to break it down and explain it. She does assign work in Cengage, but the work helps you with the test. The tests are manageable if you study. Overall it is a good class just study the study guides and do the work.
AMAZING!!!! could not have had a better lab professor. Yes, weekly quizzes but usually only five questions and all of them are things she has gone over. Soooo funny, and caring, always makes sure everyone in the group is pulling their weight.
This class requires a lot of studying! You have to remember the parts which is a lot; and the midterm and final are practical. She doesn't lecture too much, almost always got out of class early, only graded by worksheets which we got for every lab, midterm and final. If you go to class you should be fine.
Tests are difficult but she gives guided notes that include what will be on the tests. Lectures for a long time and goes off topic sometimes, but knows what she is teaching. Gives multiple chances for extra credit and is willing to work with you if you need help.
I would absolutely recommended. She gives study guides for all of her tests, and her tests come exactly from them. Obviously you have to understand the material, but she made zoo so much easier. So sweet and responds to emails very quickly.
Sweet lady, she can be all over the place and get off topic but she means well. She made study guides for our midterm & final. Takes a while to grade lab reports.
Class wasnt really difficult, just unorganized. She also gives a 10 point quiz at the beginning of each class, with material learned from the previous class. She is a little sassy sometimes too. Her midterm and final were NOT just multiple choice. They had written reponse, graphs, matching, etc. but they were pretty easy.
Dr Hendricks was very caring and you could talk to her about any of your concerns or needs but, her guided notes never really matched up to her test. Her lectures were very long and boring being that we were watching her flip through slideshows and filling in blanks on our notes. Overall I'd give her a 4/10, would probably not take her again.
There is a quiz every week on the material that you learned the week before, which helps you GREATLY in studying. She teaches very clearly and makes sure everyone understands. The only exams you have are the midterm and the final, besides the quizzes. She is very understanding, but she does not respond to any emails. Took her for BioLab as well.
I will be taking her for ZOO 252 next semester. I also took her for GBIO. She makes the material easy to understand and gives alot of mcgraw hill homework's that cushion your grade. I love her classes. Easily one of my favorite professors at SELU.
I made over a 100 on the first test due to a bonus opportunity and then it went downhill from there. The guided notes do not help as she just rambles on off topic about other topics. Between her lack of explanation about complex topics and the smart books not lining up with her lectures at all, I would recommend any other Bio professor over her.
Took Mrs. Hendricks for Bio 151 lecture and lab. Lab class was fairly easy, she gives a quiz at the beginning of every class covering material talked about in last class. Lecture class was hard to get through, as she just lectures a powerpoint and you fill in blanks of the exact same notes. I had to read the textbook to teach myself a few times.
Short, sweet, nice, grades easy, you get a heads up on everything. 100% taking her again no questions asked. For our class she didn't have late penalties.
Professor Hendricks makes the material easy to grasp. Her tests align closely with the study guides, and she offers plenty of assignments to boost your grade. I'd recommend using unstuck ai alongside the textbook for effective prep.
She makes this class much easier . As long as you go to class and study , you'll pass.we have 10 quizzes total. You must attend class to take the quiz. The final and midterm are on paper (must write out answers, no MC). Overall she's a great teacher and she doesn't mind working with you so you can understand the material better.
Took her for the lecture and the lab, During the lecture before exams she would literally tell you everything that was on the test. Her outlines were exactly like the test, and made the class fairly easy. Whenever we were struggling with topics she would allow us open notes on tests and our final was take home.
She is a good professor and she always tries to get us out early. She is funny and wants her students to do well. There is a 10 question quiz every week, but if you study and memorize the information you will do fine. She is definitely one of the better options to take.
