She goes a little faster than Johnson, and doesnt let you take notecards into exams, but I dont think shes that hard. She's a grad student and always willing to help. Homework is a must, though. I enjoyed her cause she was laid back and really helpfull.
She is awsome. She is always willing to help you out. Homework could be a bit hard, but if you go to her she will help you with your homework. One of the nicest teacher that I've gotten so far.
Leslie was an awesome teacher. I learned a lot in this class because she is so helpful, approachable, and really down-to-earth. She is always willing to explain things again if you have problems & go to her during office hours. The homework is tough, but if you can do the hw, you'll ace the exams. Overall, this was a great statistics course.
Leslie is a great professor! I still haven't opened the textbook for this semester and our final is in 2 weeks and I have a 96..this class is NOT hard...homework is NOT required and she gives out practice exams...she is so nice and helpful also!
She is really nice and helpful. Do the homeowrk because one of those will be the quiz for that week. Exams aren't bad either. I would take her again.
Mrs Hendrix rules easiest class in my life shes nice and you actually understand the stuff shes extremely funny and for some weird reason likes to play scrabble alot
shes the bomb dot com!! stat is kinda hard in my opinion but she will do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to help out anyone. she is probably one of the niest and most kind hearted professors at USC. she teaches really well. It is extremely easy to get a B in this course with her awesome teaching style.
She is an amazing teacher. I hate math with every fiber of my being, but she didn't make it so awful like the rest of USC math professors try to do.Plus, she's a student, so she can identify with all the hell we go through in a semester.
She's really helpful and likes to make jokes to keep her students interested, not always clear, but always willing to give extra help, she cares about the students and wants them to succeed
She's nice & has a good attitude towards the class. I had never taken stat before and her class was a breeze for me but I know some people that did have trouble with the class but if you go for help you'll be fine. She uses the iclicker & you can get tons of extra credit just by paying attention in class.
Great teacher.she is willing to help you if you need it. Dont be rude to her.She is a great person and a great teacher.
The class is not too enjoyable because it is just so much material, but having Hendrix made it so much better. She genuinely cares about her students and does everything to help. If you come to class, do your hw, and pay attention you can pass- just study a lot. She's extremely nice and she can be funny too.
great teacher. explains everything very well and is always there for help.
She was extremely nice and helpful but her wordings for problems are ridiculously confusing and she will get mad if you tell her this. The class was really big and she tried using the projector but her left hand kept covering the notes. do homework and you will pass!
Her notes were terrible, stick to the book!
she's really nice and helps when you ask for it.. but very boring and really unclear. i went to class and learned more from the textbook than her
Cutest teacher ever. She tries really hard to get her students interested in the material. You don't need the book at all, she posts notes on blackboard. She's really sweet and is there if you need help with anything. I highly recommend taking her!
Topics seam confusing at first, but she explains everything perfectly. It's really easy to get an A, but don't buy the text!
Great professor. The material is extremely easy to grasp, and math is my worst subject. Notes are great. DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOK. I started reading it at the beginning of the year and realized it was no use. Every last thing you need is in the notes. Not exaggerating. TAKE HER, ESPECIALLY IF YOU'VE NEVER HAD STATISTICS BEFORE. Overall excellent prof
She's super easy! dont buy the text. Just use ur notes & questions from hw to study. She curves grades alot & really wants her students to pass. Take her!
dont buy the text. she will teach you everything you need to know. great teacher and really tries to help you out if you are coming to class and using your i-clicker. my recommendation--go everyday and use your i-clicker. if you dont do well on homeworks "clicker points" go as bonus giving you a 100 homework grade and bonus points in class on tests
love her! very helpful/informative. go to class to get clicker points to make up for incorrect homework answers! easy class, if you attend (which isnt mandatory). she is bubbly and cute as a button!
Hendrix is such a good teacher. She really wants her students to succeed and will go out of her way to help you. She's super cute and friendly. You get clicker points for coming to class which count as extra credit, which is awesome! Don't buy the text though--we never use it. Such an easy class, even for people who hate math.
Precious! She's an awesome teacher and very helpful. She's always willing to slow down or help you out whenever you need anything! Take her for Stats!!!
She's great! Especially if you don't like math and never took statistics in high school. She takes time to answer questions and emails and she will stop to break down a concept if you don't understand it. TAKE HER and dont buy the text!
Extremely helpful and sweet teacher. She won't move on with the material until everyone understands it. Study guides and practice tests are given, as well as "clicker points". Highly recommended.
Professor Hendrix is great! If you have to take STAT 110 take it with her. I-Clicker points almost guarantee a 100 on every homework assignment as long as you attend class. Sample tests are very similar to the actual test. Always willing to help. I didn't use the book at all because she posts all notes on Blackboard.
Mrs Hendrix is a wonderful teacher. She really wants everyone to succeed and does not take attendance, but uses iClicker points. Only assigns homework every week or two and the iClicker points basically mean you'll get a 100 on every assignment. The class before the test she gives a sample test and goes over the material
DON'T BUY THE TEXTBOOK. I didn't and I never once needed it. Everything you need is in the lecture notes on blackboard. She's a great teacher, really willing to help her students, and always willing to explain a concept again if you don't get it. She's probably my favorite professor of all time. Take her! :)
She's extremely nice and you can tell she wants everyone to do well and loves teaching! She tries really hard to relate her subject to every day life and show where you can apply the concepts. The class is relatively easy if you show up - and she's always willing to help her students out if they need it! I would highly recommend her!!!
She genuinely loves her job and the students that she teaches. She will do anything she can to help her students get the grade they want and she has great teaching methods. She prepares you well for all the tests and tried to help any way she can. she is a great teacher!
she is so nice and helpful! definitely take her the class is not too hard and she gives tons of extra credit with clicker points..just go to class and get help from her if you need it and you will definitely get an a!
Really goo teacher! She knows what she's teaching and offers a lot of help! She gives you extra credit (clicker points) just for showing up to class!
soo easy.
Very good teacher. Enthusiatic and very cool. Lots of clicker points. TAKE HER
easiest class/professor on campus, period. I skipped class ALL the time, but did my homework and would study just a little before exams, and I made over a 100 in the class.
Great teacher! she really wants her students to do well and will gladly tutor you. she has a clicker point system that helps you learn and can also be used to help low test grades. She has a great personality and you will want to come to class. you learn a lot and will continue to use the information.
Awesome teacher! Probably one of the best on campus. She really wants you to do well, and will help you as much as she can. Go to class to earn points for missed questions on homework. Attendance not mandatory, but it's a fun class. No reason not to miss it. Tests are straightforward if you study. Highly recommend!
great teacher! so many clicker points that you have to get an A. take her!!
Very good professor!! attendance is Not mandatory, instead she gives out clicker points when you come to help your grade. She gives you two attempts on Homework. Her study guides are just like the exams. She will answer your questions. You can also exempt the final exam.
easiest class so far in college. attendance is extra credit (done by iclicker), she practically gives you the answers to the exams by the practice tests, she is always willing to help if you need it, and if you have an A or B at the end of the semester you can exempt the final. highly recommend this professor and class!
She tells you everything you need to know. Tests are just like the study guides. She's very nice and always willing to help. My favorite teacher!
Very simple stat class. Good lectures, simple homework on blackboard about every 2 weeks. The practice tests are just like the real thing. Bonus points for attendance, plus...she's smoking hot.
Don't bother buying the book, you'll never need it. An easy class if you pay even a miniscule amount of attention since she relies a lot on iClicker points. Her voice is a bit grating, but worth it for an easy credit.
Take her. Stat is a simple class anyway, Leslie keeps it that way. No book use, easy homework, easy tests. Heck, I even only went to class 25% of the time. Not that I hated the class, it was just my only Friday class. You'll learn what you need to know, plus super easy to exempt final exam.
Her tests were kinda hard...gives a lot of notes though. She was rude to some students. Quizzes werent that bad, it came straight from hw questions.
I probably would have failed statistics if I didn't have her as a teacher. Even if you did bad on tests, as long as you got a lot of clicker points and did your homework you would still end up with an awesome grade. Take her if you get the chance. She is great.
She is awesome! best teacher ive had since being here at usc. and shes suuuuuper nice.
Mrs. Hendrix is awesome! Definitely take her if you can. She wants students to do well. Attendance is not mandatory, but you get bonus points for going to class which really help you in the long run. Don't buy the textbook though because you NEVER use it. Easy class if you do your work.
she was so nice and so helpful! super easy! LOVED HER
She is a GREAT teacher! She really wants all her students to do well and will do whatever she can to help you! I would take a class from her again in a heart beat! I actually wanted to pay attention to her even though i hate stats! TAKE A CLASS FROM HER!
She is amazing. She's super sweet, first of all. Always checks in with us to see how we are doing. She teaches all of the material, and does such a great job explaining that it makes it very easy to understand the work, even if you are not a math person. Look at your notes, do the homework, study a little before tests, and you will do great.
No textbook, provides lecture notes to just fill in. Attendence isnt required. She sets up the grading to help you as much as possible: 3 exams and all of your (easy) quizzes add up to total as a 4th exam. Cares about students and realizes Bio is a hard major. Very helpful if you just ASK! Plenty of opportunities for bonus points. TAKE HER!
Honestly, she was without a doubt the best math related professor I've ever had, hands down. She's incredibly sweet and genuinely cares about her students, even if it is in a large lecture room. Math is NOT my best subject, but I ended up with a B+. She's very easy to confront about questions and is always willing to help students.

Kinda a "motherly" type of teacher. Very helpful if you have questions. Fair grader. Will go over things time and time again if you don't understand. Good teacher in general. If you study you should be fine for the quizzes and tests. Go to class because it helps
Dr. Hendrix was awesome. Her class was really easy and she made it impossible to not do well. Every time you answer an iclicker question its like extra credit and she gives a lot of questions during lecture. She really is the motherly type so I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND HER.
Professor Hendrix is the one of the best teachers I ever had.If you study-you will do fine.If you need a help-go to see her,she will always help you.She is a happy person and like a "mom" to everyone.
Dr. Hendrix is the best. Period. She cares so much about her students and she will go out of her way to help you with any issue, academic or personal. Class is not mandatory but you can earn a ton of clicker points that go straight toward boosting your homework grades. I highly recommend her.
Dr.Hendrix is by far the best professor. She's in it for her students and wants to see everyone succeed. She moves at a great pace so that everyone understands what is going on. Her practice tests reflect what will be on the test, which is super helpful. Go to class and it's an easy A. Definitely recommend her!
Dr. Hendrix reminded me of my second grade teacher...in a good way. She cares soo much ! you wont find another professor on this campus that cares as much as she did. If there was ever anything she could do she made herself available. She didn't take attendance and DO NOT BUY THE BOOK BECAUSE WE NEVER USED IT ! keep your money :)
She is a great professor. Really cares about the students and wants all to pass. Just take notes in class and do the ungraded and graded HW and you will pass her class with a B or higher. 2 tests and 1 final!
She is adorable and really cares about her 400+ students. She likes to share personal information which makes you feel like you can talk to her. I've taken stats before in high school and I've had teachers explain things better, but her tests are really straight forward so you should do fine. Plus lots of clicker points is an easy A
She is great!! So sweet and really cares about every student. Gives TONS of clicker points that help your homework grade and some test grades. Homework on BB and you always get 2 attempts at it. TAKE HER!
MOST AMAZING PROFESSOR EVER! She is soooooo sweet. Definitely take her. If you learn her practice exams, you will get an A in the class.
TAKE HER! She is sooo sweet and if you try any at all you will get an A and on the plus side you get to exempt the exam if you go into it with an 80 or above!
Amazing teacher! She truly cares about every student.very helpful with everything inside and outside of class.very understanding. She did online videos for an army student who got deployed for a few weeks. She is the best teacher on campus.Take her class but DO NOT take advantage of her! She is so sweet and people abuse that a lot and it hurts her!
Loved her! She was so sweet and very helpful. I learned a lot and there is absolutely no reason you shouldn't make an A in this class. I would definitely recommend her!
One of the best professors I've ever had. She is really caring and helpful. The class is easy as well. She basically gives you everything you need to know for the tests. Easy A
She is the best teacher ive ever taken! She is SO sweet and is very fair she does everything she can to help you get a good grade in her class. You can opt out of her final exam if you have a B or higher. I would DEFINITELY take this class again, she is amazing! Very light work load and i made an A.
Very helpful!
She is so sweet. SHe loves her job. She will help you every way she can. Do the homework and CLICKERS! Pay attention in class no matter how hard it can be sometimes
Leslie is awesome. She explains everything so clearly. She's very mom-like and works with you to get good grades. The content of the class is also really easy. She posts notes on Blackboard and you print them off for class. Really easy. Tests are much like the practice exams, and she helps you out to prepare.
Best teacher ever. she is so sweet and is willing to help you always she is very understanding fun to be in her class TAKE HER ! she is so sweet and she cares : )
Mrs Hendrix is one of the best math/stats professors I've ever had. She is extremely helpful and loves to teach and her students. Attendance is mandatory but you will want to go to get the notes and get clicker points that will help you on your homework. You should defiantly take her for your statistics course!
She is the best stats teacher I've ever had! She explains everything very well and is very helpful with anything. Although you have to attend class, you will want the notes for homework and exams and to get clicker points which can boost you an entire letter grade at the end of the semester. I would definitely take this course with her!
Hendrix is THE BEST! Coming to class is not mandatory but it is best to go bc of clicker points that will be HELPFUL TO YOU! You dont need the textbook, she spoon feeds you all the information you need & really tries to help you understand the lesson! Her office hours are incredible, & the study guides are really helpful! TAKE HENDRIX! :)
awesome! loved her! so helpful and easy class. take her!!!
TAKE HER! She is so nice and sweet and really cares about her students. She is always willing to help out and work with you.
She is totally awesome!!! Really nice, caring and takes time out to make sure her students understand the material! She is one of the best professors anyone could ever have, especially in Stats! There should really be more professors like her. LH if you're reading this... I love you!!!
Attendance is not mandatory, but showing up is very beneficial. She is awesome and has a way of explaining the material in the easiest way without being condescending. And if you still don't understand, she has NO problem helping you as best she can. Really wish she taught 201 because she made a dreadful subject for me interesting:) take her!!
She gives a lot of opportunity to get extra points and to redeem bad homework and test grades if you go to every single class. She was very helpful and good at explaining everything. No text book necessary
She is very clear when teaching the class. She is interested in what she is teaching and always in a good mood. I really enjoyed her class and we got extra credit all the time! Great Teacher!!
easiest class in the world. hendrix is so sweet and makes everything very simple! she was sick all of the time though and cancelled class 5-6 times so it basically ended up being an online course. you get clicker points for going to class which factor in as extra credit so try to go as often as possible
SUPER nice and helpful, almost all the info you need is online, attendance isn't mandatory. Take her class if you can
Dr. Henedrix is a very sweet teacher. She is very concerned about her students knowing the information for the test so her students can pass. She never minds her online students coming for help. I would take her again just not online!!
Tests were easy, she pretty much told you what to expect on tests. Attendance isn't mandatory but you can get bonus points for going to class that go towards your homework. You can also exempt the final if you have either an A or B
Awesome instructor. Will go to any lengths to help you understand the material.
Easiest Math class I have ever taken ! so easy professor hendrix is so nice.
Pretty easy but the tests don't follow the review towards the end, you get EC for coming to class. Don't use the book but she isn't very helpful or understand when it comes to needing help.
AWESOME! She's very willing to help you understand everything. This was my first stat class, so I visited her for extra help before test pretty frequently and she always had no problem helping. Easy to understand, but you just have to put in the effort. Over all great class to take.
LOVE MRS. HENDRIX! If you have to take STAT 110 TAKE HER! Super easy class as long as you go to class. You use an iclicker a lot in class & the points you earn from it are used as extra credit. Review practice is JUST LIKE the tests! Will give out extra (old) practice tests if needed. Seriously take her, liked her so much i'm taking STAT 205 w. her
Sooooo extremely helpful!! The class is a bit confusing when she teaches. However reviewing the notes before tests and the homework help a lot.
Dr. Hendrix is really sweet and makes the subject easy to understand. I struggle with math, but I made an A and exempted the final in Hendrix's class. You don't need to get the book, but definitely take good notes and go to class.
very nice lady! super helpful! if you pay attention not a hard course. Literally can go out the night before and exam and still get an A
Really nice lady. Makes concepts easy to understand. Uses iClicker daily. Didn't really need the text book. You're allowed several attempts at online homework assignments. It's hard to go wrong in this class.
She is the best prof I have ever had. She is so easy to understand and makes the information interesting. She teaches according to how she tests. TAKE HER. Don't even think twice about it. I went to class even though it wasn't mandatory because I liked her and it that much!!!
Dr. Hendrix is an awesome professor! If you don't understand something even on homework, you can e-mail her and she will get back to you right away. She is very approachable and always willing to help. Great teacher and a great person!
TAKE HER! Hendrix is one the nicest, most helpful professors I've ever had. To me, the material was extremely hard, but I met with her during office hours & before tests & she had no problem helping me out. She really does want to see her students succeed. You can message her for feedback on your quizzes before you submit them, &DO THE UNGRADED HW
The best!!!!!! I suck at math and I usually hate it but she's so awesome! Very helpful and easy to reach if you have questions! The class is also pretty interesting for a math! I wish she would teach every math class I would have to take! I highly recommend her!
AMAZING PROFESSOR! Attendance not taken, but if you want to fill out the lecture notes, and get clicker points for extra credit at the end of the year, you should go. She is enthusiastic about her job, and that's what really makes the best teacher. A PIECE OF ADVICE: print out all lecture notes, and bring them to class to fill out. Study and u good
Very easy to follow; walks you through the lessons step by step. Would definitely recommend her!
She makes this class almost too easy. The clicker questions are the test questions, and she posts them with the answers online. Clicker question points help your grade out so much even if you don't do well on tests and quizzes. I'd suggest going to every lecture just because it makes the class so much easier if you do.
One of the best professor at UofSC. Pay attention in class, read your notes, do the practice exams and you should easily get an A. Attendance is not mandatory but iclicker points really help your grade.
Super sweet and outgoing. Love her as a person but I noticed toward the end of the semester, the material got harder and she became more confusing. Homework due every week. 4 tests, no quizzes. Homework is online. You get "clicker" points for participating and those will really help your grade so GO TO CLASS. Must have a clicker for this class!
She's awesome. Her notes are really easy to understand and are online. Her quizzes are also online and you can retake them so it's easy to make good grades on them. Her test are straight forward and right from the material. Class isn't mandatory but it's helpful and you get extra credit for coming. don't buy the textbook!
Professor Hendrix was always super helpful, easy to understand and really likes to see her students succeed. I feel like I was in a high school class again. Even though the class had 200 people in it, I felt like Hendrix made the class personal and easy. Take her!
She was no help at all. Every time I would go see her, I would ask a question about the material. She would just say do the hw and then ask her again. Well if I could do the hw I wouldn't be in there asking her for help. She was unclear in class and didn't spend enough time explaining what each method means or is used for. Avoid her.
Not an easy class, 10 quizzes and 3 tests are the only grades. Attendance is mandatory. Passed with an A but wouldn't have without help from a student who took it the previous semester.
Very good explainer and very nice! Participate in class with clickers because they end up being extra credit for missed homework's. Overall it was a great class!
Total sweetheart! Take her. She sincerely cares about her students. Extra credit is awarded through iclicker points and you can drop the final depending on your grade. Don't buy the book unless you're horrible at math and like to study. She uses a site that has practice quizzes and notes.
She's the best ! I hate statistics with a passion but she made it enjoyable. I was actually excited to go to class at 8:30 AM. Attendance is not mandatory but you get extra credit points for participation. Do well on your exams and you won't have to take the final.
Nice teacher. Actually watch the lectures because STAT 110 is not like other stat classes. They use different formulas and names than advanced classes
Mrs. Hendrix is a nice lady, can be condescending at times if you ask to many questions but overall, this class is not easy. The method by which she does the final is really weird (can replace your lowest grade, even if you score lower). Quiz grading is nice. DO NOT BUY THE TEXTBOOK! Didn't open it once, it's really confusing, her notes are enough.
This was my first time taking a Stat class and she made it very easy to understand and learn. All HW is submitted online and you have two attempts. She always provides study guides or practice exams before every test. And extra credit is given by answering clicker questions and the beginning of class. Up to 4 questions points a lectures. NO BOOK.
Sweet lady. HW is optional, and quizzes are all online. That being said, she doesn't like it when you ask her questions about the material when you haven't tried the homework. Her exams are easy because almost everything on it come straight from the optional HW (she gives you answers too). Attendance is crucial because a lot is covered in a day
Super easy class. Just pay attention and do the homework. Extra credit comes from clicker points. Don't buy the book. Would recommend taking this class online because it was a waste of time sitting in the classroom. Hendrix is super helpful and sweet.
I loved taking her for statistics. I would take her again if I could. She will work with you on anything that you have confusion on if you see her. She gives out extra points in clicker points. One of my favorite professors.
She gives ungraded homework as practice so try to do it because you'll be lost. The tests are worth 75% and the quizzes are 25%. She docks you in points for being late or absent but attendance isn't factored into your grade. I struggled in this class despite going to office hours and staying after class. The material seems foreign. Take STAT 201!
I didn't like how she treated me a bit like her child, but she taught well and clearly. She was helpful and wants you to succeed.
The class seems difficult and scary at first, it's easy. A lot of her questions off the test repeat throughout the other test. Some of the quizzes are hard as hell though, even though you do them at home for homework, notes didn't always help. She's helpful and a great teacher. Just study and you'll be fine. She tells you what she wants on test
Hendrix is awesome. She is so helpful and really cares about the class. Attendance is not mandatory but if you go you can get extra points through the iClickers which is awesome. If you feel like you are struggling, she is so nice and wants to help all of her students.
She's hot. Shes fun. Take her class.
Dr. Hendrix is great. She is helpful and provides all lecture slides along with practice homeworks and solutions. Keep up with the class and you will be fine! Great professor.
There are three 25 question tests and several homework quizzes online. Participation is not mandatory but you can get extra points for answering the iClicker questions during lecture. You can exempt the final if you like your grade after test 3. She's a really nice and really smart lady. Highly recommend her class.
Hendrix is super nice, but she treats the class like little kids. She explains concepts clearly, but then asks if we understand then explains again. Also be prepared to use none of the University technology, and to buy an iclicker. But since you'll be spending money on all of that don't buy the textbook.
i love professor hendrix. she is the sweetest person ever and cares so much about her students and how well they are doing. offers practice tests before exams too.
Professor Hendrix is the ideal professor. Even in a 200 person lecture, she makes sure you can ask her questions individually. She is very tech-savy, and is very willing to help when certain apps or sites don't work. Tests are exactly like the practice exams, and everything is discussed in the lecture notes. Definitely take her for intro.
She is one of the most caring professors i have ever seen. She truly wants her students to succeed and tries to accommodate everyone. She is also very tech savvy.
Leslie is honestly one of my favorite lecture profs. She is so understanding and always willing to answer questions throughout lecture. Homework is helpful and fair. Tests are straightforward. She has YouTube lectures online in case you need another lecture on the same material. You get notes on blackboard that follow exactly the lecture in class.
She thoroughly explains the info in her lectures, & if you need clarification she posts her lectures to Youtube, & is always willing to provide extra help during her office hours. She truly cares about how well her students are doing & is willing to stop class to answer questions. Her test reviews are EXACTLY like the tests, so easy to get an A.
Professor Hendrix is so full of energy which keeps you awake and engaged, which is especially great for an early class. She goes at a slow pace and makes sure, even though it's a big lecture, that everyone understands before moving on. The class is easy as long as you put in effort, and I've never been a math person but Hendrix makes it enjoyable!
Honestly.. AMAZING TEACHER! She really does care about her students and I was so surprised how organized she was considering her class has atleast 200 students. She's honestly just great. Show up to class and be respectful. Just a super nice lady. Her test are like the study guides.. so study!!! She really does put effort in and try as a professor.
definitely my favorite professor at USC. such an easy A. don't buy the textbook!! i never opened mine. she also posts study guides and practice exams for every test and offers so many opportunities for extra credit. take her class the first chance you get; you'll enjoy it.
Hendrix is the sweetest lady!! I had her for STAT110, and she made the class so easy and fun. The study guides/practice exams are essentially the same for the tests, and she makes the final optional. Attendance is taken. The textbook is not necessary. Overall, a great intro to stat class and would definitely take another one of her classes again!
Pay attention in class or really look at your notes, and this class will be a piece of cake. Her lectures are straight from the notes that she posts on Canvas. You can't miss more than three classes, and she took 1/2 an absence every time you left early or came in late. Her tests are exactly like her practice tests, which she goes over in class.
Stats can be boring but she tries to make it as interesting as possible. You can stream the lecture online even after class so need not attend. Posts slides beforehand. Very organized with syllabus and HW. Sample tests are great help since actual tests don't differ much. Very helpful with questions even over mail. Adorable and sweet.
Professor Hendrix made an other wise bland subject interesting most of the time. She puts notes on blackboard before class which is helpful. Plus she has the lectures online as well if you miss. She really cares about her students and is always open for office hours. I went to her and she was very helpful and accommodating. Recommend for Stat 110.
She is super sweet and nice. She's good at explaining and answers questions. Her office hours are super useful. She has a couple projects that we worked on and presented, but she helps a lot. Her review before tests are very helpful. Her take-home quizzes are short. Her optional homework assignments are really helpful.
Dr. Hendrix is absolutely wonderful. She is so energetic in her lectures and really puts a lot of effort into making sure that you know the material. There are questions after each section that help you comprehend every little thing. She provides ample amount of resources like HW, quizzes, and practice tests before each exam. Great professor!
Hendrix is awesome! Definitely recommend going to class because she takes attendance. Stat can be boring at times, but she clearly wants her students to be successful and is a wonderful teacher. There are a few projects which are easy if you go into her office hours and ask questions. The weekly quizzes follow the optional homework. Effort A
Dr. Hendrix is an awesome professor. The class was 12 homework quizzes, 2 projects, and 3 exam (optional final). Her lectures are very easy to understand. She is probably the most helpful and accommodating professor I've ever had. Go to her office hours if you need help. She wants everyone to succeed. Don't get the textbook. I never opened it.
I loved Professor Hendrix!! She was very understanding and clearly cared about her students. There's four tests and the final is optional. Each test is 25 multiple choice and she designs the tests so that you don't need a calculator, so they're super easy. Perfect class if you just need to meet carolina core requirements
Dr. Hendrix is by far my favorite professor that I've had at USC. She always takes the time to make sure everything is clear and everyone understands what she is teaching. There was a good amount of homework, but I think it helped a lot in understanding the material. She definitely cares about your success and is very helpful outside of class.
Dr. Hendrix is a really sweet lady but if you struggle with math then stay away. It's mandatory you go to every lecture (attendance is graded by reef and will check location) and there's only 3 Major grades with an optional final. Homework/participation are VERY SMALL grades which bothered me a lot because I was struggling and needed those points.
Dr. Hendrix is great! She's fun, helpful, and very invested in working with students. Tests are based off lectures and she gives fill-in-the-blank lecture notes, so don't bother getting the textbook. If you have any questions/problems, just ask her for help!! Tests are pretty easy.
A little annoying attending lectures, but overall an easy class. Definitely wants to make sure you understand the material; encourages you to ask questions.
A wonderful woman! I've never been a good math student, but she made everything very simple and understandable IF YOU PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS. If you don't pay attention and take notes, you probably won't understand. She's good at what she does and is so nice if you try to get to know her and ask questions.
Ms. Hendrix is a great professor! Really knows her stuff and teaches the material really well. 20% of your grade is homework and 80% is exams. The final is optional since the lowest exam grade gets dropped. She does take attendance with reef and that can lead to extra credit along with the clicker points. Easy class because it is really basic stat.
She was the best math teacher I have ever had. She was very caring about if you learned the material or not. She tried to make the class interesting and relate-able. She gave us very little homework and I usually did pretty okay on her tests considering I typically fail math exams. They were all multiple choice, I am just really bad at math.
Shes a super nice lady really enjoyed the class. She had a really rough semester but she still was there for us. The class is a hard subject in the business school no matter what teacher you have its hard. By far one of the most caring teachers even if you dont get the subject like me.
She had a hard semester but tried her best to have class when she could. She didnt really teach 2/3 of the chapters on the final in class. Firm believer in earning your grade and refused to bump grades even if its only a point away. Her test content isnt hard but her wording can make it very hard to understand.
It was her first time teaching this class and this course was redesigned this year. The projects and cases were difficult but she did help as long as you attended office hours. I dont know who said she doesnt bump grades but thats completely false. She bumped me and other people i know as well. Doesnt use calculators & easy tests. Best teacher
Very sweet lady and easy class. Has many office hours for you to ask questions in. She's more than willing to answer questions through email or during office hours. Three tests--two midterms, one final--somewhat tricky case study/quizzes, several projects. Get a head start on Kaggle project, and go to class--she takes attendance with iClicker.
One of the best professors and people I've worked with. She moves quickly in class, but you should print off notes and write everything down that way you can look over it outside of class to figure out what's going on. Great projects, and she will work with you every step of the way. Truly cares about her students. Whatever you do don't cheat!
Dr. Hendrix is a boss. She does everything she can to help you succeed in her class. She has a passion for statistics and makes it applicable to business students. She very quickly responds to messages concerning homework or anything else in the class. She also teaches students how to use R code (like many businesses use) rather than Excel.
Amazing teacher, she really listens to her students feedback and will do anything for her students to be successful.
This class is very difficult material, but prof. Hendrix is the most devoted professor ever. She is always willing to help you, and make sure you understand the material. There are a lot of extra credit opportunities, and she drops your lowest assignment grade. Overall really challenging material, but she tries to make it as easy as possible.
She is very average teacher. Material is hard and lots of computer work. Good bit of homework and tests are hard (but she does give decent study guides). Lots of boring lectures and group projects. Attendance is mandatory too. I probably wouldn't recommend her overall
Just not a great teacher...
be ready for a lot of group work so make sure if you take this you have friends that are taking it as well. She gives a study guide which is pretty much the test, just a little different. Lots of using new types of computer software's which get to be very annoying at times. Also normally has everything due, plus tests all on the same week.
Dr. Hendrix was fantastic. Her lectures were crystal clear, exams were very similar to her practice exams, and she gave everyone bonus points at the end of the semester. There were a handful of HWs, a few simple projects, 1 bigger group project, 3 exams, and an optional final if you wanted to improve your grade. I would totally recommend her.
Hendrix knows her stuff, but the material is so confusing. The stuff she teaches in class is not really like the homework, and it's hard to relate that to what is on the test. She gives you study guides for the tests which are really helpful.
This class was pretty difficult and the lectures often did not line up with the homework and group projects, but Professor Hendrix gladly went out of her way to help many students understand the material. Tests are very similar to practice tests given. She gave us bonus points at the end and offered extra credit. This class sucks but she's great!
No textbook and a good bit of extra credit. The class itself is hard no matter who you take, but taking it with Hendrix is your best bet. The learning curve is steep just because you're learning a new software program from scratch, but she wants everyone to do well. She does get a little technical in her lectures, but go to her office hours.
Took online MGSC 291. Super easy class, have to use the program R console instead of excel, was hard at first but easy once you learn it. All you gotta do is keep up and do your work and know the study guides for the test. She adds points to your final to help you out at the end if she knows you put in a lot of effort. Super nice and pretty hot.
MGSC291 is terrible and pointless but she is a good professor. I took it online and it was a lot of teaching yourself how to use R which was challenging but she provided good resources. Exams are almost exactly like the practice exams. Optional Final.
The R Coding software was used heavily (tough to learn but she is great with giving help during office hours). She makes her own "textbook" so don't bother buying the other one, just get the access so you can do the connect HW - HW is pretty easy and relates back well to the exams. Exams can be rough, but she tells you exactly what to study.
Love her! Super accessible in person even though it was an online class. Pay close attention to her lectures and take good notes. Always redo HW and practice tests before her exams! You do have 4 group projects even though it is an online class, but they are pretty simple if you do them as a group rather than individually.
Dr Hendrix is a nice professor and means well but this class is challenging. It was difficult to learn R during lecture and it was the first semester where it was in the curriculum. Be prepared to teach yourself some of the concepts, and there are 4 group projects and cases, but she gives extra credit and an optional final to help your grade.
If you have to take MGSC 291 take this class online with professor Hendrix. She is extremely helpful in her office hours and her online lectures are extremely helpful. Good to take online though so you can go back through lectures before the exam. She gives study guides.
Online MGSC 291 was so easy. Put in minimum effort and you will still pass. A couple group projects but nothing too tough and exams are just like her reviews. Her online lectures are also too the point and not boring. Shes really sweet too. Solid choice!
She's a solids choice. She gives extra credit a few times during the semester and her notes are fill in the blank. It's difficult to learn R in the class so I recommend using the Data Lab. She gives a lot of practice problems for the exams which is really helpful. The class gets easier as the semester goes on. I'd recommend her.
Professor Hendrixs class was very difficult at first trying to learn R all the while teaching yourself completely unrelated material. It gets easier as the semester goes along, and she gives a big boost of EC at end of semester.
Professor Hendrix was not helpful to me when I was trying to learn the material. She does give a lot of extra credit at the end of the semester, but expect to study a lot on your own to learn the material.
Professor Hendrix is amazing and I learned a lot in her course.
Not helpful to students who needed help with the class. Take this class in person and with another professor
she is cool but I recommend not taking it online I had to teach myself R all by myself even though she has lectures theyre not that helpful to really understanding R. I studied so much for all the exams and got Bs on all of them when I was expecting an A. She does give extra credit though
The exams are pretty difficult but she gives a lot of other grades too so it is possible to get an A. Make sure not to miss any assignments or it will automatically put you at a B. Make use of the data lab, they are really helpful and can help you get A's on the homeworks and cases.
Professor Hendrix is the best professor ive had here at USC. This class seems really challenging at first but if you ever need help go to her office hours. She is so helpful and so knowledgeable about this course. The tests can be difficult but there is a lot of prep given for them and extra credit.
Good professor, very nice and helpful. Make sure to use the data lab as much as you can. A bit of a tough class, but possible to get an A
I am really not a great student and R is hard, but she makes it easy all u have to do is try a little Watch her videos she posts before case assignments and tests and you'll get an A HW is on chegg Literally watch her course videos right before you have to take a quiz or test and its enough to get an A. Vids are soo quick and easy. TAKE HER
Do not take this class unless it is your only course for the semester. If you do take it, take it in person with a different professor. The amount of work it requires is a little bit ridiculous, even for an accelerated course. Would not recommend.
I can imagine that this class is relatively easy if taken in person. However, when taken online at an accelerated pace this class is HARD. It was my only summer course, and I do not believe I have ever struggled this much with course material before. If you can, avoid taking this class online to preserve your mental health.
By far the worst class I have ever taken. She is absolutely no help when it comes to teaching students online. Her lectures don't explain how to use R and expects the students to figure it out. For someone who had never used it before, it is impossible.
Her lecture videos don't help at all and she did not even hold office hours during the week that a major project was due. I would seriously consider taking someone else.
This class in person would probably be easier than completely online. Hendrix gives 4 cases and 4 group projects during the year, and I felt like the cases were extremely difficult. On top of that, she doesn't give you much aid in initially learning R. She is obsessed with students cheating, and has even joined group me chats to catch students.
If I could rate her a zero, I would. Avoid her at all costs if you can. Does not know how to teach R. This is very difficult course and she is useless and clueless as a professor. This is not a class that should be taught online. Does not care about her students. We had no choice but to take this course online.
She is the worst professor I have ever had at the school. She does not care about her students or your grade. She will go to extreme lengths to catch people cheating, even when you have used the data lab, which is ALLOWED, she will report you for cheating. This class is difficult to begin with, so it does not help that she sucks as a teacher.
Great teacher, if you want to succeed in the class make sure to go to the Data Lab for all of the cases and help for the project if needed. Online 1 case/ project per month pretty much. Hendrix is really nice and understanding the online format gives you a lot of time to get stuff turned in and checked by the data lab or her. Take initiative
Is always ready to throw out academic integrity charges. I use data lab (which is recommended for the course) to help with assignments and she tells me I copied codes from a classmate. I spend hours on end in data lab getting help and get slapped in the face with 0s on assignments. All my classmates I have talked to deal with the same situation.
DO NOT TAKE LESLIE HENDRIX!!! She goes out of her way to report basically all her students to academic integrity without a second thought. She gives out 0s like it is nothing, which is ridiculous considering this is a completely online class which her students are forced to take. I would recommend taking any other professor for this course.
She is a very tough and strict grader. If you're not willing to work extremely hard on your own to understand the material, I do not recommend taking her. There are 3 group projects throughout the semester, but the rest of the work in her class must be done completely alone. She considers working with classmates on classwork cheating.
3 group projects, 3 exams and optional final, 9 hw assignments, 4 cases. If you think this class is hard you didnt use the data lab then. Put in the minimal work and youll be fine. unlimited attempts on the HW. Dont wait til the last min to watch all her pre uploaded videos cuz they take forever to take notes on since you pause every 2 sec to write
This class in itself is hard. The notes she provides are certainly helpful but from my experience, I feel prepared for exams and end up doing poorly. Lots of opportunities to get help (office hours, data lab) but she also is extremely strict on cheating. No help allowed by others in the class on nearly anything and if she finds out, she will report
I will never take a class with this woman again (thank goodness I dont think I have to). She sent out messages a few weeks ago ab ppl saying untrue things (prob on rmp), yet they r true. She goes out of her way to catch people for "cheating," if you unfortunately have to take her, talk to no one but her & good luck bc her responses suck&r unhelpful
Not really sure how she has a 4.3 but she is actually the WOAT. Really goes out of her way to literally NOT help you, confusing how a professor can do that but she manages to. Do not take her. Turned me in for case 3 for no reason, spends more time finding students for cheating (when using data lab) than actually teaching
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Prof is a nightmare. She spends all her time worrying about kids cheating than actually helping them succeed. Will give out 0's frivolously for no reason. Has told me on numerous occasions that she does not have time to speak to me which is neglect. Thanks Prof Hendrix for making the stress from this pandemic even worse <3
PLEASE READ MY REVIEW. as an online course, it was more difficult. she was less accessible and did not allow for collaboration with classmates. she was a picky grader, BUT the homework is very easy since you get unlimited attempts. I know people say she was mean and horrible, but she is better than your other options! they are not as good as her.
Professor Hendrix gives a lecture packet with her videos but goes through the material too quickly with few examples for students to go off of. The cases are hard and she is hard to reach for help if you dont make her office hours. The group projects are not explained well either. If there is another teacher avaliable i recommend you take them.
This professor might be harder than the already difficult class itself. Most professors will go the extra mile to help you but Prof Hendrix will do the exact opposite and go out of her way to give you 0s and bust you for cheating (even if you werent cheating)! Might actually be the least understanding human I have ever met. Take any other prof!!!
Prof is difficult to reach. Oftentimes I would contact her with ample time before deadlines with pressing questions only to have her reply after the due date. She is only concerned with catching kids for cheating. Has said that she "does not have time to speak to me" in regards to a 0 I received on a project for an error in HER directions. Avoid!!!
Is a very nice woman and the class load overall is fine. Great information to learn! However... She wrote almost our entire class of over 200 students up for being in a group chat. With a heavy online semester and year, it's hard to meet people in our classes... excessive and unnecessary need to report students to conduct so BE CAREFUL!!
Whatever you do do not take Professor Hendrix. like seriously!!I have never had as much stress as I have had this semester and it is because of her!!She randomly reports so many of her students for cheating (even the ones doing the best in her class ) and has no empathy towards them or the PANDEMIC going on. Do yourself a favor and AVOID HER!
I think Hendrix is a great choice for MGSC 291. Although the lectures are sometimes boring, it's not her fault it's just the material is dull. Other than that, she was always really nice, very helpful and easily accessible outside of class via Canvas messaging.
What a selfish, terrible teacher. She spent over 120 hours reporting students to academic integrity for something as trivial as naming their projects similarly. She then tried to make us students feel bad because our attitudes were negative this semester, as if all of us are not dealing with trying to learn online during a pandemic.
She does report a lot of students, but this tends to happen in a lot of lower level courses. However, if you try to communicate with her (politely), she is a caring professor. She does love her students, but some people don't see that. This course is a lot of work though but if you aren't willing to put in the effort, don't take this course.
This class isn't easy but it's not impossible; you just have to put in some effort. Dr. Hendrix is extremely accessible and wants to help you in any way she can. 3 exams and an optional final. Several (maybe 12?) homeworks, 4 case studies, and 3 group projects. There are also multiple extra credit opportunities. Take Dr. Hendrix!
Do not take her. I got reported for academic integrity when I didnt even cheat and also for dumbest reason I have ever heard of. She obviously doesnt mind giving so many people unnecessary stress and anxiety during a pandemic. Worst experience of my entire life. Still mad.
She is awful. Goes above and beyond to try and get her students in trouble with academic integrity. She has reported an absurd number of students despite us all struggling with a pandemic. She will then go and try and convince academic integrity that we are guilty. She then wants us to feel bad for her as a teacher in the pandemic. Horrible human
She really cares about her students and give you feedback on your assignments. Her classes were prerecorded but if you messaged her with any problems or questions she would respond quickly. Her tests were just like the practice tests and her hw has multiple trys with the same questions and answers.
She reported me for cheating on case 3 along with apparently half the class. I didn't even know anyone in the class. Not really sure how I collaborated if I don't know anyone? Even after proving that she protested to academic integrity and still tried to convince them of cheating just because I named a category different than she would have. WACK.
Prof Hendrix is very very nice and so understanding. I feel like she really cares for her students, her material is a little hard because its R code, but she is very very helpful if you ask her questions
Hendrix is amazing in regards to lectures and the tests are easy. My issue with the class and where I have a lower than I wanted grade is due to the TA. Canvas grades your work but my TA went back in and re-graded our Cases changing what was 90&100s to 40&50s because "coding was wrong". Hendrix did not help when I came forth and asked for feedback.
Watch the lectures, do the homework, you will get an A. Exams are multiple choice.
Hendrix does a great job of making the material easy to understand and given many examples of problems so you can see how to work through it. While this class was completely online and asynchronous, she was very responsive and easily accessible. I definitely would recommend taking her!
The class material was hard for me. But she always had office hours multiple times every week to help everyone. She is super sweet and actually cares about you learning and understanding the material. The quizzes were easy but make sure you stay up with the videos.
Hendrix is the best professor I've had at Darla Moore since a being a student there. She is extremely well versed in what is arguably the most difficult class in the business school. I was terrified of the course content at the beginning of the semester, but she gives you every resource you need to be successful. I wouldn't take anyone else!!
I took MGSC 291 as a summer class and I was scared about the complexity of the content. However, Prof. Hendrix did an amazing job explaining things in lectures and provided solid preparation for tests (the tests were pretty easy). The hardest part of this course would be the cases, but it's honestly doable. You definitely have to study to do well.
There is nothing wrong with Hendrix, there's also nothing right with her. You have to take this class if you're in DMSB, so unfortunately I cannot advise you not to take it. Its useless and unnecessarily hard completely online. Canvas, the software, is unforgiving of missed points.
Professor Hendrix has created an impressive formula in which her TAs grade everything, and she teaches by making her students watch year old lectures that are almost related to course content. Have fun teaching yourself how to code, and getting your grade lowered by 50% by a TA.
Shes awful. Do not take her if you can help it. You literally teach yourself how to code using R. Shes extremely unhelpful. She knows the material so she expects us to just magically know it. Shes a great person but horrible teacher.
Took her online class, so I'm not sure how she is teaching in person, but her lectures are very dry. She posts about 4 videos every week that you have to leave a comment on. She is not very understanding for questions about grades. She lets TA's grade everything, and they grade every harshly. She drops lots of grades or else everyone would fail.
Posts four 30 minute lectures a week and thats all you get. Terrible audio quality. I didn't watch a single video, and am doing reasonably well, so its possible to finesse a good grade. Its a tough class in general, and all the professors are pretty bad. If you're not good at teaching yourself, I wouldn't recommend this course.
I hated this class. nice person but the class is brutal. Lots of people get accused of cheating when they didn't even cheat. Cases are very difficult and you are often left up to your own means to complete (data lab isn't allowed to help). I'm a good student and I really struggled with Hendrix. I would avoid, don't let the good ratings tempt you.
Truly the best professor Ive ever had at Darla. I complained to her about personal problems and she offered me great advice. Made the content clear, a wonderful experience in such a hard course. 10/10, everyone should take. I dont normally review but this professor is a positive impact on every student and their education.
Professor Hendrix is a great person and is super sweet, but her lectures were dull and the exams were moderately hard. She accuses so many people of cheating even when they don't, so be careful if you take her. She does give extra credit opportunities though which helped my grade in the end. Overall, the class wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great.
Awful and mean. Try your best to avoid her class!!! She is an expert on trump up charges and adopted ridiculous reasons to send students to the integrity office without notice and communications. By the way, PPT reading is the only which you can get during lectures. Protect yourself; I don't want you guys also to overwhelm a fabulous charge.
I liked her teaching style and thought the class wasn't that bad but she did falsely accuse me of cheating in a bogus way and when I said it was a mistake she dropped it.
I took this class online. Lectures were boring, homework and tests were hard and the homework/group projects/quizzes never felt connected to the lectures and tests. Class is hard in general though so I can't place all the blame on Prof Hendrix. Bad class with a teacher who didn't help very much.
You have to pay 30 dollars for someone to proctor you. The proctoring cite almost charged me twice until I told them about it. Professor is nice at first but starts to ignore/ help you once you guys advance in the course. I would not take this class.
I honestly liked Hendrix. For as hard as MGSC291 claims to be she made it bearable. R is confusing, and stats is hard. It's hard to make it interesting it's not her fault. She gives you video lectures to go back to during cases and studying. Every time I have messaged her she has been very kind and helpful. Take her, just make sure you keep up.
The class was very hard, mainly because R is hard and the version she asked for is very old. The group work is a pain and the teacher will specifically remind you not to let students who don't work properly get points. This can make some students behave badly, I was reported once for some reason, but the teacher is very nice. she gives me points.
291 in general is a hard class. R is a coding console that you use throughout the whole semester. She doesn't explain the functions in R she just states them. The cases is what made my grade drop. Tests are not bad. There is so much content of this course be prepared. She's nice but other 291 professors content of the course are a lot easier.
If you want a good grade and try, she is more than willing to help. She tested a new style of the course for the SP22 semester and it uses real-world examples. Weekly readings/vids require comments for participation pts. I went in during office hours once at the beginning of the semester and highly recommend.
Hendrix is a really great teacher considering that R is very tough and complicated at first. Since I took it asynchronous everything was posted in advance and usually a few lecture videos and a homework or quiz is due every week. R is def. easier to learn online, so if you are taking MGSC 291 I recommend Hendrix.
Great teacher. hate stats and still did well.
Professor Hendrix was alright, mgsc 291 sucks no matter what professor you take so I guess this class wasn't too bad. it was all online and there were weekly videos you had to watch and then one main big assignment per week. the class sucks though.
MGSC 291 is a really difficult class. Any teacher you get is going to be tough because the class is just so hard. Watch her lectures and take notes. GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS. She explains so much in her office hours and it helps so much. She is very kind and is looking to help you. One of the better MGSC 291 professors.
Although she gets a bad rep for having grading harshly on the projects, if you go into her office hours and ask for help, she is really trying to help everyone succeed. She had us fill out a feedback form on how to make the class better and she actually took our advice which made it a lot better. Overall super caring.
Nothing is very clear and the concepts are poorly explained then a group or solo project is assigned on material that everyone is still confused about. Impossible to reach her, and you need to navigate perucall and canvas for the class. She does not accept emails, but messages through canvas and mine were never seen.
Although this class is difficult as is due to the heavy emphasis on R as a key aspect, Hendrix helps as much as she can. She provides every resource necessary, although you will likely still struggle at some point in the class. The group projects are weird and probably unnecessary but they do not really matter that much.
The class is tough in general, but Professor Hendrix is not good at explaining the material. Hard to reach her and if you do she is rude with her responses and isn't much help. The homework, lectures, and practice exams help a little when it comes to the real exams which are 50% of your grade, but a good portion isn't even covered by her.
Leslie Hendrix is not the nicest person and hard to reach outside of office hours, sometimes not responding until days later. Lectures are not helpful for case studies, and group projects are a big jump from doing no coding to having to do a lot. The class is difficult as is, but not having much direction from Hendrix didn't make it any easier.
just don't take her other professors will work with you better and make this class a better experience
The class is hard itself, but I don't think Ms. Hendrix helps. She rambles in her lecture videos and grades harshly. She has office hours, but she was not that nice to me. Office hours were hard for me to schedule and she did not email back. I think this class is hard period, but I don't think the professor helps.
This is an extremely tough course and the professor is extremely difficult to work with. Avoid at all costs
Professor Hendrix was a decent professor. I took her class fully online and was more or less able to keep up until the end. It's a very difficult course and can be frustrating at times. She doesn't respond super quickly so I would recommend taking the class with friends
Great professor for online course. She was very accessible and answered emails quickly, always willing to help. Material can be very tough at times and many assignments use R, but Hendrix does her best to set you up for success. Class is in Canvas and many things can be done ahead of time. MonitorEDU tests aren't bad if you study. Great 291 option!
The content within this course is just hard in general. Professor Hendrix is a great professor and clearly wants you to succeed while learning the information. Whether or not you do well is completely on you. She offers plenty of resources as well as time outside of class to help you. I had no issue when it came to questions I had about homeworks.
Hendrix gives you a lot of opportunities to boost your grade during the six weeks. I did not even take the final; I just stuck with a zero for exam three and still got a B. She also gives an optional Final Exam to replace your lowest exam grade. You should do fine as long as you watch lectures, take practice exams, and do hw and cases.
This class was hard in general and had a lot of work and group projects. I took the online version of this class and found it to be manageable. There was an optional final at the end which helped with grades. If you knew people in the class you could ask to switch into their assigned group for the projects which was nice.
class is hard no matter what but i took her class online and actually understood everything. super helpful through email and so sweet too. A LOT of extra credit opportunities and she builds extensions into each assignments so its hard to get points off for late work. highly recommend taking this class with her, you will not regret it.
Knowledgable and passionate professor who goes the extra mile. Only downside is she makes you buy a proctor, a textbook, perusall, etc.... otherwise would recommend
Not a bad class to take online. Professor Hendrix was slow to answer emails sometimes which can be frustrating in an online class. She messed up a few assignments and when emailing her about it she told me that they were correct; she later updated them to the actual version after the whole class had already submitted them.
Not a super hard professor. Exams weren't weighted very heavy so if you get good grades on all the homework you can do bad on the exams. Final exam was optional and would replace your lowest exam score. Class is all about R which is not an easy concept but she gives very detailed notes and does a good job explaining in her lecture videos.
"I have no idea what's going on but I have an A" pretty much sums it up. A lot of extra credit, easy deadlines, exams aren't weighted much, homeworks and cases have unlimited attempts...I can go on. Hendrix makes the class as easy as you can for this subject. Exam 1 is easy but 2 and 3 are hard. It's just hard to apply R to real life scenarios
If you have to take this class take it online!!! All the lectures are recorded so you can go back and watch them. The majority of the grade comes from the cases, homework, watching the lectures and reading. This leaves room to get B's on exams and still get an A. She also provides extra credit in the beginning as well.
DO NOT take no matter what!!!. If you take her, DO NOT use quizlets to study for your exams. She has used over 40 hours this semester accusing students of cheating, even for studying a Quizlet. Her curriculum has been the same for over 4 years and she is too lazy to change it. Her priority is making sure students' academic futures are compromised.
I don't like the way the class is structured. You use Canvas, then you buy the Connect textbook, a program that grades your homework and cases, and a proctoring website. I didn't see the use in any of it and spent almost $200 for it. It took longer to set up the proctoring for exams than to take the exams and it was annoying.
I took her over the summer and it was fine, the exams were proctored with 2 devices and a person watching. She was also really helpful with the homework and gives great feedback. Also gave us a long time to do our exams and homework.
The class can be a bit messy with all the different platforms, but professor Hendrix makes up for it with detailed lectures and fair grading. Using unstuckstudy AI alongside the textbook was a game-changer for studying.
Avoid. Class is completely disorganized and overly complicated. Entire class is prerecorded videos and everything is graded by AI. $200 of required materials but she "cares about student costs." Different platforms show different due dates for the same assignments. Just take it in person, it's not too hard, but this is a waste of time and money.
I have never been more angry at a class in my life. It's the most disorganized class I've ever seen. Most of this is due to canvas, which is simple enough to use, but all due dates on canvas are a week before the real due date, so it's easy to forget assignments. Can't communicate unless it's through canvas. Extremely expensive. Take this in person
Worst teacher I have had at South Carolina easily. To say "teacher" is actually not right because all she does is accuse students of "cheating" because the AI system used to grade says every student plagiarizes and she doesn't care at all about the student's explanation. Takes days to respond to emails and is not helpful. Avoid at all costs.
She does not at all except tardiness
It's an easy class, but beware that she will accuse you of cheating and have Academic Integrity contact you to either have a conference so you can explain it wasn't your fault or have it on your transcript :) She says you can use notes and old assignments to help you work on these cases, but I guess not. Honestly don't take her.
Very tough class, Recommend taking it in person. Many of us are accused of cheating because of the online grading system grading system, Which has screwed many students with academic integrity violations. I've never studied so hard to get an a.
This class actually had me mentally drained even though it's online. Every time I open an assignment, I want to close my computer immediately. Her lectures are awful. They're just videos where she reads every word from her long lecture notes and expects you to know what she's talking about. Girly, I have no idea what's going on.
The homeworks do not relate to the exams so be sure to look at the video lectures. She frequently changes office hours so don't rely on them. While assignments don't have a strict due date, the exams do so beware of that. She was an okay professor, but the class itself was difficult.
Don't take her! The textbook is unreadable, the lecture notes are just a copy/paste of the textbook, and her lectures are a copy/paste of the lecture notes. So all the resources have the exact same wording. And good luck studying because you aren't allowed to ever use external resources. You will also inevitably be accused of cheating.
Professor Hendrix is a good professor, the class is just hard. You just have to practice a LOT- the people complaining about her probably just didn't take the class seriously. No matter who you have it with, it's difficult but I think she did pretty well! Just do the work on time and study for the tests and you'll be fine.
This is a difficult class with hard material but she does a good job preparing you for exams with the homework and reviews. If you have to take this class take her.
Not an easy class, but also not taught very well. The lecture notes are full of so much information that they're unreadable. The homework is only 5% of your grade, but costs $100 to access. It'll cost $100 more for other required materials. Office hours were changed a lot. Test prep materials were the only helpful thing to getting a good grade.
This is so bad. This class is awful and I'm not even a test in. She j talks off what sounds like a script. Impossible to understand and follow. PLS I am begging u to take the jawn in person, I'm going to in the fall since the online is awful and miserable.
Not a good class her lectures never get to the point. She makes you pay extra money for this creepy proctoring service that is really distracting to have a random person watch you for the whole exam when Respondus is free of charge.
She is honestly a very unkind person. She rarely replies to emails and if she does its with a sassy remark. This course charges you an extra $100 on a smartbook assignment that is not necessary in my opinion and another $40 for a proctoring service. Don't take her but honestly there isn't a single good MGSC 291 professor here.
Great professor for this class. I have friends with the other professor and they struggle to know the information. The class itself is a lot of work because it is a new skill in stats coding, so watching the lectures, taking notes, and doing the homework will get you a good grade. Exams are hard but if you study you will be fine.
Awesome teacher. Made sure to always be available for students at any point, and would help out if had any questions with assignments. If you do your homework and watch the lectures you'll do great in this class.
R is hard in general, and her lecture videos are unhelpful. All she does is read off her slides, which are just chunks of text, basically the exact words from her unreadable notes! However, her exams aren't too difficult, so it's still possible to succeed. Just make sure you know your terms and the interpretation part of R.
Her lectures are a bit tedious/long, but they're helpful. The textbook is the transcript of her lecture videos. Homework isn't bad if you understand it or know where to look in the textbook, and the code summary is very helpful. I took this in summer (6 weeks), and whilst there was a lot of stuff due, it was still very manageable.
the class seems like it will be much worse than it actually was. everyone seems to be doing better in the online class than in person. Just lectures to watch and homework in R is most of the work. the exams aren't too terrible once you figure out the format and the study guide was helpful enough.
Her lectures are extremely boring and overcomplicated. The exams are not hard at all but the lectures can definitley seem overwhelming with the amount of information complied in them but the material on the exams are not nearly as detailed or hard to understand. Overall, not a terrible class, not a ton of work either, but a lot of information.
I was really scared for this class, but I actually really ended up enjoying it. The exam guides are basically exactly what is on the actual exam. There is also extra credit that you can do that gets added to your final exam grade average. TAKE THIS CLASS!
I was worried for this class based off previous reviews, but it was way better than I expected! Professor Hendrix is extremely caring and moved due dates multiple times. The exams were not hard and although the lectures are long, you get a 100% just for watching. The only annoying aspect was the live lockdown exam, but you get used to it.
MGSC 291 is difficult, but I'd recommend it online with Professor Hendrix. I did it in a summer course over 6 weeks, it was intense but worth it. if you put in an hour or two each day of studying, you will do fine. She has an odd company monitor your exams, but other than that it was a straight forward summer class.
