I HATED her. I didn't like the way she lectured because it was jus too much. She didn't use powerpoint like the rest of the science teachers because she wrote her notes on the board. It made it very confusing.
She's nice but she grades hard.
Excellent notes, hand written, hadnouts when topic is difficult, Exams completely from the notes, easy labs
made things seem clear but then once u get to the exams realize that you dont know anything and that it was in fact the teaching style...i mean she has great character and an honest desire to help you learn, but the teaching style screws you over...
Very nice lady, and pretty easy to talk to. Her notes seem to make sense, and she explains things pretty thouroughly, but god only knows where the test questions come from...the tests are very hard, and she is a difficult grader. Labs are fun and easy.
don't take this class
I took King for both Gen Bio and for Physio (for nursing). In Bio, I though her lectures contained too much info and the tests were from the material, but still difficult. In physio, the material is more specific -- the tests are still difficult -- so get your hands on a previous semester test.

she writes her notes on the board and she goes over everthing on her notes. she's an easy person to talk to, so use her office hours if you need any help. although she's really nice, her tests are very hard.
her notes are good. Its all about learning the material and taking the time to do it. Science cant be done any other way though
i loved this class and prof king. she's really nice and helpful. she explains things well. i thought the class was a piece of cake, the tests were challenging but fair.
Bullsh*t! She's a smart woman, but definetely needs to get with technology and use PowerPoint. Her handouts were print-outs with her scribble all over it. At least hole-punch it for goodness sake! Unfortunately, this is a required class for science people, and she's like the only one teaching it.
This class was easy considering it was a Physiology class. She's boring, but nice. I don't know why I didn't like her...there's just something about her.
Very nice prof, really cares about your learning, the notes on the board was a lot easier to learn compared to the printed powerpoint stuff, because it had like 2 slides on every page for like 15 pages! exam's get tougher and tougher, learn 2 memorize and REALLY take advantage of the studyguides and old exam's from friends!
She is straightforward andclear about expectations. Keep up with the work and you will learn a lot.
terrific teacher! She knows her stuff and helps you out as much as she can. Very clear and straightforward. Not hard to get an A in her class.
LOVE this teacher. Helpful, clear, nice, caring, funny, and fair. Study from the lecture notes, and try to get your hands on an old test. She never tricks you, and her study guides help a lot. The material is difficult, so make sure to study.
Don't be fooled. If you're not getting an A, you're not getting help. She only loves the overachievers.
This professor is great. She's very nice and sincere when she says she's available for help. To do well in her class, make sure you study her study guides early and you'll do fine.
Puts her heart into her work. Really nice and helpful... but needless to say, not a push-over. Notes are straightforward. Quizes and exams require you to have good understanding of concepts discussed in class.
she's very nice and wants everyone to understand the material. she makes herself available if you need her. her tests are pretty challengig
She's a great teacher! She's ALWAYs willing to help and her tests really arn't that bad! She's awsome! She always enourages asking questions and she is soooo helpful. Take her and you won't regret it at all!! Go Prof. King!
really nice, clear teacher, exams aren't too bad, genuinely nice teacher that cares about students getting info, not boring at all
great teacher, very nice and approachable, knows her stuff, writes/walks through notes with students, prints out packets for students, tests are based on her lecture notes and study guides, attend class! she also gives out candy on holidays :]
Always helpful and fun, especially in lecture. She doesn't take attendance, but you should still go, because she gives answers to test questions. She knows it's a lot of information, so she's always there to give you a hand if you need help... don't take it for granted though. Class is pretty easy if you study for the tests and pass the lab.
She is so nice and really wants to make sure you understand what she is teaching.
TOTAL BABE!!!
Unhelpful, really fake lady. Take anyone else if you can.
AWESOME!!!!
she is a great teacher, but midterms are pretty hard. just be prepared to STUDY STUDY STUDY!!!
super professor - she is extremely helpful, knowledgable and approachable.
Professor King is awesome! She is so meticulous yet very concise in the material she expects you to know for the exams. The tests are challenging but you will be well prepared if you take it upon yourself to really understand what she tells you is important. She is very fair and extremely helpful. She has a genuine interest in our learning :)
(physio)I wasn't the biggest fan. I emailed her and never got a response back, got a tutor and was helpful. I guessif you are really interested in the subject you'll do pretty well.
Really good teacher. Very willing to help and extremely nice.
excellent instructor. Lectures were very clear. Tests were all on material lectured. Instructor is very helpful and fair. Loved this class.
She is a very organized teacher. She knows her material. Although her test are hard, if you study her notes you should be just fine. Memorize her notes.
taught very well, tough but very clear and available for help
Her lectures are very comprehensible and she makes clear what will be on her exams. Study or memorize her notes, and that will help so much. I like Physio more than Anatomy because she gives out more quizzes (that are easy) and blackboard/lab assignments that definitely help boost up your grade some. She's helpful, clear, and very sweet. Take her!
GREAT! Aweomse! The Best! Very clear! Lecture material is tough but she teaches it great. Tests are no suprise they are straight out of lecture notes. Study study and study and you will do well!
She's really funny when you pay attention to her and lectures are always crystal clear and she often provides really good examples. Tests are straight from notes as well as little things she says in class, but she'll tell you what to know and what to have a general idea of. Talk to her during office hours, she's extremely helpful.
she's very good, clear, helpful and nice. for some reason though her tests are written to be 10x trickier than the review sheets or her notes, so stuff on the tests is written in some way to trip you up. what's up with that?
Great, easy A teacher. Her midterms are easy too -- just study off her lecture notes and her practice tests and you're good to go! I didn't use the book a lot, because her midterms are VERY straight forward. GO TO CLASS b/c she tells you what's on the midterms. Overall, great teacher! I'd definitely take her again.
Physio was easy with her! GO TO CLASS because she tells you exactly what's on the midterm. The book isn't used since her tests are based off the lecture notes. Study her practice exams along with her study guide. I studied the morning of the day of the final and still got an A in the class by studying off her notes. :)
Loved professor King! She knows her stuff and loves to help you with any questions you have. She loves questions that relate to physio but aren't what she teaches. Highly recommend going to lectures as she tells you what is on the exams. Her exams are very straight forward. Overall loved her.
Don't just attend lectures, make sure you pay attention. She explains things in the simplest way, but seems to have the power to put everyone to sleep at the same time. Tests are much more difficult than she makes them out to be, make sure you study A LOT. Try to go to office hours to get help, as well. STUDY STUDY STUDY!
amazing! super nice, funny at times, and more than willing to help students! wish she taught some of the other science classes...
Great Professor! Take her if you are Nursing or ESS for sure!
Took Human Physio. She's sweet. Made cookies for anyone to have after you finished your final. Take notes, study hard. Easy enough, just a lot to learn. She's pretty clear about everything during lecture and also when it comes to saying what will or won't be on the tests. Go to office hours if you need help and she'll def help you out.
King is a great teacher. Everything that will be on the test or quiz is in the lecture notes. study and memorize those and you'll be fine. I haven't opened my book yet and have gotten A's on both midterms so far. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it helps to go to lecture. She is extremely helpful if you have questions! TAKE HER!
Absolutely wonderful - Extremely supportive, helpful and FUN! Best Bio teacher thus far at USF.
She is extremely helpful! If you print our the powerpoints all you have to do is fill in the blanks during class and usually that's what you get tested on. The class can be hard if you don't keep up but Prof King gives you everything you need to get an A
She was very helpful, I loved her! She cares a lot about her students. I had her for physio and loved it.
One of the best teachers I've ever had. Definitely take her class. She gives you everything you need to know for the tests in the powerpoints. She's super nice and always willing to help. She makes it easy to do well if you're willing to put in the effort.
It's my first semester at USF and I've really enjoyed taking her physiology class. She's always there for her students when they need extra help understanding things, and she's very clear during her lectures. Her lectures are recorded and put online, but attendance is definitely recommended if you're someone who asks a lot of questions like me
Her class was so easy! I'm a lazy person when it comes to studying and I got a B+ in her course. Her recorded online lectures helped me out big time since I didn't always show up to class. Everything you need to know on the tests WILL be on the power points (and she'll inform you on topics you won't need to know).
Lectures are clear, several lab summaries, no homework, exam can be hard sometimes, but she grades it fairly, do attend the class and ask question or go to her office hours if there is anything unclear, she is always there to answer your question
She is very helpful and wants you to learn. She is an expert at what she teaches and encourages questions when you are stuck.
Dr. King is one of the sweetest professors I've ever had. Even if I had her for an 8AM, her enthusiasm in her lecture is what keeps me going. Her tests are fairly challenging but she gives you review questions and other study tools to prepare for them. 10/10 would take her again.
Her lectures and labs are very organized and easy to follow. She cares about students and very approachable. Also provides tons of study tools to prepare for exams. I will definitely take her class again!
she is AMAZING. super nice and caring and wants everyone to do well. if you study the notes, the tests will be fine. shes no easier than any other teacher. but she is easily one of my favorite teachers at USF
The kindest prof I've had. She's understanding of students; takes her time going through the material and presents so that every student can understand. Frequently stops to ask if students have questions, and you don't have to fear speaking up when you don't know. She learned most our names. She's passionate about physio so lecture is enjoyable.
Prof. King is one of the best teachers I've had here at USF. She loves biology, loves teaching, and is super easy to talk to. The class isn't an easy A because tests can be a little challenging but King goes out of her way to make lectures interesting/engaging. Take her class!!
Favorite teacher at USF, period. You can tell she really loves what she is teaching and genuinely wants her students to understand the material. Teachers like her are hard to come by! Looking forward to taking other Bio classes she will be teaching.
king is sweet & genuinely wants her students to succeed. that being said, those qualities don't always equate to a good professor. her ppt slides are disorganized and she explains concepts in 3-5 different ways and overcomplicates simple topics to the point where she makes it even more confusing. quizzes are on random days. tests are badly worded.
I LOVED having King for 106. She is so sweet and I loved listening to her lectures. She is so funny with her random side comments about the material. I had her for lecture and lab and it was such a great experience. Love her!!!!
Exams are always based off the her slides, no need for the textbook. Tells you EXACTLY what will be on the exams. Slides can be a little disorganized, but if you study the info it will make sense! Always willing to help and answer questions and is super kind and sweet. This class was on the easier side, but you do need to put in a little effort.
Professor King is a great and caring professor. She is passionate about physiology and wants what is best for her students. Her tests aren't the easiest, so you definitely have to put in the effort to pass her class (just study her PPT notes and pay attention in lectures). Regardless, you will learn a lot from her. Take her!
King is super sweet. Her lectures can be a little slow at times which makes it difficult to pay attention in the morning, but she is very knowlegeable and passionate about biology. She gives extra credit and often curves exams by a few points.
Phys was a challenge in the sense that there is a lot of info packed in for each exam, but this is said for most science courses anyways. Dr. King, however, is the NICEST person, she's extremely witty, and cares a lot about her students. She makes it clear about important information and genuinely wants to help you learn. I loved her a lot!
Prof King is a GREAT professor. She cares so much about her students and gives engaging lectures. The class and labs are also really interesting if you're into physiology. Fairly easy A if you put in the effort and study!
Professor King is the sweetest. I can only attest to my online experience with her, but she is very good at explaining concepts. Lectures are recorded and are a little slow, but very clear. She divides the class into discussion sessions to review concepts and go over previous exam questions and hosts a drop-in Q&A once a week. 100% recommend
She is very thoughtful and devotes effort to help students learn. Her lectures are very constructed, understandable, and helpful. Her exams are pretty difficult tho. But should be fine if you read the class slides thoroughly. She often tests on the small details or things that you might think are not so important. But TAKE HER IF U CAN!
There are a lot of recorded lectures, so don't procrastinate but King really helps to tie in all the information when we meet up once a week for class. Some concepts are difficult to grasp so make use of her drop in hours. Textbooks are not mandatory but helpful, the exams are more so lecture based so focus your attention on lecture notes.
Amazing professor and interesting class. The exams are just hard and are a large portion of the final grade.
Professor King is amazing. Her lectures are actually interesting and she includes things that will be on the test. Overall I would recommend. She makes you love bio.
The course material can be challenging sometimes, but Prof. King makes it really digestible and interesting. Everything on the exams comes straight from the lecture slides. She is really good at explaining concepts, and is super approachable and encourages students to ask questions outside of class. Would love to have her as a prof again!
Nice professor, listen to lectures. Has fill in the blank type lecture slides. Those blanks will be on the exams.
Prof King cares a lot about your understanding and will help you whenever possible. She makes learning really easy by giving mnemonics and examples that are easy to memorize and follow. Will take her over any other professors for gen bio, human physio and any other class she teaches.
Professor King is amazing and her lectures are really engaging. Her powerpoints are fill-in-the-blank which helps make the material easier to understand. Exams can be a little tricky but she gives lots of resources like review questions pertaining to each chapter which are super helpful. She also gives fill-in charts and recorded review sessions.
Dr King is lovely and passionate. If you pay attention in lecture and write down the notes in blue, they will be on the exam exactly like that. She holds review sessions and gives good review questions. Follow the lecture, study with enough time, and complete online assignments and you'll be set. There is also extra credit questions on exams.
Professor King's lectures are quite overwhelming, she does not pay attention to the class´s pace and this is reflected in the class's midterm average of 75%. She records all the lectures which is great. Lab procedures are not designed for 4 ppl to work on them, yet you work at groups of 4.
One of the best professors I have ever had! Very compassionate and caring about her teaching and her students. Exams are straight from lecture slides so best if study from them. For one of the exams, it will cover a lot a lecture material so I recommend studying immediately once you get them.
I'm the biggest Leslie King fan. I took her Bio106 class as a non-major and she was really supportive. She's genuinely really nice and not condescending at all. She encourages us to ask questions and come to SI and office hours. I took her class on a recommendation from a friend and I'm so glad that I did.
one of my fav profs! she is so sweet and caring and makes learning/studying easy and fun (at least in my opinion). provides study topics and sample questions for exams which are great study tools for this course. she is also very communicative and expressive; feel more than welcome to ask her questions. take her, you won't regret it!
Professor King is so so caring and such a lovely person who wants you to succeed. Yes the lectures are kind of fast paced but she makes sure everyone is on track and is more than willing to help in any way possible. Class consists of weekly canvas quizzes, 3 midterms, and a final exam. Classes are recorded but attendance counts towards grade.
her slides/lectures are kind of all over the place. she jumps from topic to topic going back and forth and it can honestly be rly confusing. the way she explains things can also be rly confusing. you have to spend A LOT of time outside class going over the material yourself or to office hours bc otherwise you will not understand what is going on.
King's class was rlly chill. I'm not a physio person, but it wasn't that bad. I would have done better if I had actually studied properly and hadn't crammed. Her lecture material can be confusing, but she's really caring about her students,/v approachable if u still have questions. Remember to study and you'll do great c:
Amazing professor and an even better person. Her class is pretty easy and a great 8am class if you have to take one.
I loved this class! It's easy to see that Dr. King is passionate about this subject and really wants you to succeed. Take notes during lectures! Exams are tough, but her posted study guides make it easy to do well. Barely any homework, just a weekly quiz of >15 questions. Thoroughly enjoyed this course and found it easy to succeed.
Although very sweet material is difficult. If you don't get it right away becomes hard to understand. Goes super fast in lecture but always willing to explain and help. The SI sessions were not helpful bc went over different things. Overall somewhat easy class better than the other professor. Tests were very difficult needed to study everything!
