Although it is a hard class, I LEARN a lot.We do 3 grop projects,3 excels,HW,and exams, and a NON-accumulative final.my friend is in Yamasaki's class,though easy, they don't learn abt how to compute statistics in excel. I would recommend this class to everyone. but remember to read before class=)

Alot of work. but she is very smart and knows her stuff. you can learn alot in her class. The only thing is that her Powerpoint presentations need to have more info about what is going to be on the test.

Although Lum did expect a lot from you she is a really good teacher as well as a really nice person. If you ask for help she will do her best to help you. She makes the coursework hard because thats the amount of work expected from you later on. I worked my butt off in her class and because of it I had a much easier time at the university.

This class is really easy you don't even need to book DON"T BUY THE BOOK there just trying to make money with that its completely useless didn't even crack to book open all quarter

Ms. Lum is really nice fa sho. She's got a lot of knowledge in that field. Her book is very helpful if you try to learn. Like in anything you've got to read so... do it... lamers complain. I got an A-, i got B's on the tests and A on projects and assignments. she knows her stuff. take her class. if you're into investing, you'll benefit from her clz

Besides the fact that I got B, I loved her class. But I love everything about money and stocks too. It was very helpful for me, her classes and book are very easy to understand. Her assignments are challenging, they require very big amount of work. I haven't taken GB101 with her, but myne was also boring. Statistics is very hard to get by itself..

Leslie is a really good teacher. It's a hard class and she expects a lot from her students, but she is really good. You can do well if you apply yourself. Just make sure you attend class, because she goes over the assignments and exams which are helpful.

Leslie doesn't require attendance, but you wont do well if you don't go. Alot of the learning in this class is self-learning because she doens't give lectures often. But she is very helpful with any question you have! The class is self grading for assingments, but if you don't want to take the time to leran material on your own, don't take it.

Great teacher. She truly cares about the success of her students. I would highly recommend her as she is not only a great professor, you get a lot out of the class.

Leslie regularly demonstrates that she can pin down her class demographic, and adjust her teaching style accordingly. I think it's really a matter of taking the time to ask her questions. Sadly, at least 75% of our class is taking her class as "an elective," and they don't really give a c**p about the content.

Leslie is a great teacher. She knows material well and knows how to teach. Yes, her classes are harder than average, and require a lot of word, but it's totally worth it. You actually learn a lot from her, especially if business is your major. Though exams are hard, she is an easy-grader on it. And her videos are GREAT! Will definitely follow her.

Come on guys seriously? college is work... and her class really isnt that hard. I read these reviews.. took the class and now ive realized.. they so are not true. All you have to do is read the chapter and take a "10 minute write" on it.. so easy. any papers we write are like 2 pages max.... and I learned alot. dont be afraid of her class..

Leslie is the best teacher I have had at Bellevue College. She expects a lot out of her students and her class is challenging which is nice for a change. Anyone who is complaining about her being unclear has simply not read the syllabus. This is college she shouldn't be expected to hold your hand and spoon feed you every assignment. Great teacher.

Amazing!

Talk about a spitfire. She's here to educate you in the field of finance and accounting. No matter if you're going into marketing or economics, you're going to know accounting inside and out. She's a tough lady; tons of homework and practice exams. Make sure you know your stuff because three exams total 60% of your grade!!!

Leslie is GREAT. Although she has timed write every fridays, her gradings are very generous and rather forgiving. One thing though, she didn't explain anything about paper assignments ( though its really easy to find it online) but overall rating, she is very good. the class has lots of teamworks which is fun and is very dynamic

I took ACCT&201 with Leslie online Fall quarter at BC. This is the first in a series of 3 accounting classes which I must take in order to transfer to UW Bothell into the business program. I had several interactions with Leslie throughout the quarter. She was always very helpful and genuinely cares about helping her students. I would recommend her.

Positives: Lectures are to the point & easy to understand. Test Preps excellent. She is always available to help with this class & others. Negatives: Wiley Online HW. Problems are good exercises but grading on it is not fair (dinged for IT issues). Exam format is horrible, should not be back to back!!

I loved Leslie! This class was ridiculously challenging, but she was wonderful help and I learned so much! I strongly recommend for people who are ready to work very hard.

This class was a love/hate relationship, but with Leslie's guidance and help & your determination to do great in this class you will succeed. This is not an easy class, consumes a lot of your time. Leslie has a genuine interest in your success, but you have to want it more than she does. I advise no more than 10 credits when taking this class.

Great teacher! This course itself is one of the harder ones I've taken at BC, but it was worth the effort. I'm using the research, presentation, and communications skills I developed here in all my classes at UW. If you have space, and are actually willing to put in the time, this is a good class to take. Looks good on your resume too!

You will use the project management skills you gain in this class over and over again for years to come. The class is not a walk in the park and the challenges you go through as a group will push you. For people transferring, it is a great class to get you ready for the the increased workload. In the end, it will make you that much better.

Leslie is always helpful to her students. Willingly receives them during non-class hours to discuss difficulty. Project selected for class brings together all concepts of the class.

Leslie is a very supportive teacher and she gave us a lot of review sessions before the exam. You have a lot of opportunities to raise your grade with extra homework. She is very cheerful and positive. I would highly recommend her for courses related to the business area. I took accounting 201 with her and Multicultural Business Consultancy.

In the "Multicultural & Business Consulting" course, each person was expected to take ownership of their class project. Not only did we connect with real world local business clients but also made a difference by serving as student consultants. The class was a challenge, but the whole experiences and the doors it may open more than outweighs it.

Leslie was an amazing instructor! I really enjoyed how she would present the material, then dedicate periods of time during class to practice the material. She would provide great feedback on individual and group assignments. I would definitely take a class with her as the instructor again.

She often gave us good feedback, but sometimes it made us confuse because the idea was completely different from our idea. anyway, she is usually really helpful advice and supportive for us.

She gives her students so much help outside of class. She was incredibly helpful when our consulting group really needed it.

I learned a lot from her class. Also the difference between high school students and college students is that college students need self-discipline. So if you want to get good grades, the most basic thing is to go to class every day. Dont complain that your grades are not good or that its too difficult. Its because you dont study hard.

Great teacher. Love the textbook. The class was just a bit harder than most, but the weekly chapter question assignment can go die in a hole. You basically have to recite certain subject matter from the textbook in your own words weekly and hope the submission has a vericite score below like 30%. Tougher class but a good teacher.

I'm not sure if Leslie just changed her teaching style or if all of the low raters are just people who've never actually had a HARD class . . . Leslie was great - Lots of extra credit opportunity - All lectures were help (lots of practice/recorded so can rewatch) - Quizzes and tests were easier than the homework - Great at explaining concepts

This professor is literally amazing! Yes you do have quite a lot of work but if you attend her classes, everything is super easy. No final exams, tonnes of extra credit, group debates, easy presentations. All you gotta do is attend class everyday and finish assignments. 1 week delay 10% penality and 20% thereafter but still super easy. TAKE HER!!!!
