I really love Mrs. McIntosh; she really cares about her students and even changed her testing style when receiving negative feedback on the first exam. She isn't the best at working with technology, and she just reads off the PowerPoints, but if you ask her questions, she will gladly try to help. All her unit test is on paper though.
For lab, she would get confused, which made the class confused, but if she couldn't get it and the class couldn't get it, she would throw out the whole concept instead of making us understand it on our own. There is a lot of group projects, but there aren't a lot of tests it's just assignment heavy. The class is very engaging 100% would take again.
Explanations can be confusing if she dumbed stuff down a lot more, she'd be perfect. Must ask her questions and put in a lil effort. Her personality is amazing, very easy to talk to, and will answer your questions even if you ask 100 questions she'll answer them all without getting mad. She's open to feedback and accommodates for students a lot.
Prelab quizzes due day before and can be very difficult at times but 5 attempts with no time limit or lockdown browser. Assignments hard lengthwise but not content wise. Hard understanding what to do but after that its ez. ASK HER QUESTIONS. Don't be that kid who complains about not understanding when you dont ask questions or you just ask 1 or 2.
This professor is very kind. Cares about your grades and your well-being. Very open to feedback. Mostly focuses on the basics of each subject. Lectures sometimes feel like they drag on forever. She can make a simple topic very confusing. Also the tests often had questions that are just impossible to answer because she didn't teach that content.
She's kind and easily approachable. I had her for both lab and lecture; both of which I liked having her for. Occasionally she can be a little scatterbrained or unclear about instructions but its never anything to worry about. Lecture consists of powerpoint lectures and a group activity per unit. Normal test difficulty. Ill miss her next semester!
God she's so sweet and really cares about her students. You have a Pig Practical and a Manuscript that are heavily weighed, but she guys you all the resources to succeed. She's also very good at answering emails, and very passionate helpful when getting her lab students to understand and retain the info. TAKE HER!!!!!!!!!
If you LOVE group projects then this one is definitely for you. She gives way too many group projects, makes topics incredibly confusing to the point where it feels like she goes in circle cause she does not know what she is talking about. She is kind and sweet, but definitely made me dislike biology when I used to love it.
She is hands down the best professor I have ever had at Kennesaw. She acknowledges the immense pressure put on students by professors and does her best to minimize it in her class. She helps you learn how to study and her advice is amazing.
She is overall a good professor but just warning you the lecture slides are pretty vague and the exams go into a lot of detail so be ready to study. Other than that is really isn't a hard class.
Exams are ridiculously hard compared to the vague, simple lectures. Always questions on exams that we didn't cover whatsoever. I've never studied so much and still had to worry about not getting an A on an exam. Talks in circles so have to basically learn the material on your own. But she is very sweet and kind, I love her as a person, not prof.
Very nice lady, only thing is the lectures are a bit all over the place.
4 exams and like 5 group projects. There's never anything on the exam that she hasn't talked about, so I don't really know what the other rate my before me is talking about. She records the lectures and posts them for you to rewatch! She is also very kind to students! I would definitely recommend taking her if you want an A!!!
Easy grading rubrics. Clear instructions. Two main grades that are weighed heavily so do good. She will answer your emails in a timely manner and is very kind!!!!!
She was very sweet, thought I would get a C but landed a solid A in the end. She keeps her students informed and responds fast to emails. She genuinely cares for student success. I didn't enjoy group projects, but I feel it's a requirement for 1108 anyway. I'll be taking her for lab next semester. I averaged a low B on her tests and still got an A!
I think the most annoying thing about this class was the group projects in a class of over 100 students she would assign new groups every week. She is a sweet person but makes her exams with AI... so they are very different from what we cover in class. Get ready to study your butt off if you want a decent grade.
Professor McIntosh was a decent professor. Takes a minute to grade assignments and responds to emails. Beware of group projects and manuscripts document. Hard and soft deadline accessible. Rate her 2.5/5.
By far the class I dreaded going to the most. Assigns things that even she doesn't know what she's talking about, not clear at all with expectations or instructions, all group work, does attendance every single class, and then proceeds to grade harsh for no reason at all and nit picks at every detail.
Prof Mcintosh is the nicest professor. Difficult tests, but some practice test Q's are used. Lots of reading like most sciences. Group work every week that it graded pretty heavily, very easy though. Drops lowest test and a few group assignments. Lenient grader for group work. Reading and studying should guarantee a decent grade in this class!
Professor Mclntosh is such a great professor, I heard biology 1108 is a hard class however she makes it easy to understand if you take the time to study the material. Getting an A in this class means you need work hard and take the time to learn whats on the powerpoints. I'd highly recommend you take her though and make sure you show up for TBA's.
She's a great professor who genuinely cares about her students' success. However, expect weekly group work—even in a class of 100+—which can be frustrating. That said, the group activities help balance out the tough grading on her challenging exams, so they end up being a helpful buffer despite the hassle.
Overall pretty good. I found the tests very difficult and didn't receive higher than a 80 on one. But luckily there are MANY group assignments one each week that help balance out the test grades. She also drops many grades at the end which help if you miss a few assignments in each category.
I took Professor McIntosh for SCM2000 and she was good! She is a wonderful person and very easy to talk to. I had no fears to ask her a question or reach out. Her instructions for an assignment were not always clear, I talked to multiple students and all were confused, but McIntosh was always happy to help and even sometimes extend deadlines.
She was very accessible out of class via office hours. She was the most understanding prof ever, and she dropped assignments which was a godsend for my grades. The learning objectives were very relevant to what was on the exam. She is the best!
Either she just doesn't know how to teach or she is just plain lazy b/c in the entire semester we ONLY had 8 lectures. The rest of semester were spent doing a BUNCH of group work (not graded on accuracy or completion, as long as you put your name on the paper you get full grade). so you learn nothing. Do not take her if you genuinely want to learn
Absolutely did not like this professor. I never wore my seatbelt while driving to school, because this professor made nothing worth it.
This professor's ineffective teaching made the class unnecessarily difficult. Emails were often ignored, group assignments lacked guidance, and tests were unrelated to study material. Exam averages were consistently failing or barely passing, highlighting the lack of support and organization.
This professor's poor teaching caused widespread difficulties. She ignored emails, offered no support for group projects, and created exams unrelated to study materials. Exam averages were consistently failing or barely passing, underscoring the lack of effective guidance throughout the course.

Consistently failing or barely passing averages on tests showed the lack of support throughout the course.
The exams were confusing and disconnected from study materials, making success nearly impossible. Group work was forced but unsupported, leaving us confused. On top of this, emails went unanswered. Exam averages were consistently low, reflecting the lack of effective teaching.
Emails went unanswered, leaving students without support outside of class. Exams were poorly designed and unrelated to study materials, contributing to consistently low scores. Group assignments were required but lacked adequate guidance, making the course disorganized and overly difficult.

Exams were disconnected from the study materials, which contributed to consistently poor averages. Group projects were disorganized and lacked guidance, making collaboration frustrating. The Lab was really confusing most of the time and never any fun. Overall, the course felt unnecessarily difficult.

Emails went ignored, leaving students without needed support. The professor's disorganization turned the course into an unnecessarily difficult experience.
The professor provided little to no support for group assignments, leaving students to struggle. Emails were often ignored, and exams were unrelated to the study materials, resulting in consistently low class averages. These factors made the course unnecessarily difficult and frustrating for students.
The professor's approach created significant stress for students. Exams disconnected from the study materials caused confusion and anxiety, as I felt unprepared. Group assignments without proper support led to frustration and tension among classmates. The constant struggle to achieve barely passing grades added overwhelming pressure.
High stress led many to drop the class. Exams unrelated to study materials caused confusion, while ignored emails left students without guidance. Group assignments lacked direction, adding frustration. Consistently failing averages heightened anxiety, making the course unbearable for many.

High stress led to many dropping the class. Exams differed from study material, creating confusion. Group assignments lacked guidance, adding frustration and pressure for students.
Emails were ignored, leaving students stranded without help. Group work was mandatory but disorganized. Exams were unrelated to the material, causing consistently low averages and unnecessary stress.
Surviving this class felt like navigating a maze blindfolded. Emails were ignored like they were spam, group assignments were chaos with no map, and exams? They were like pop quizzes from another dimension. It's no wonder students dropped like flies. Stress level: Higher than a kite.
Exams had nothing to do with the study materials, leaving students unprepared and resulting in failing averages. Group assignments lacked necessary guidance, causing frustration and confusion. Many students dropped the class, overwhelmed by the disorganization and lack of support.

The exams were disconnected from study content, causing frustration and consistently low scores. Group projects lacked guidance, leaving students to struggle. The overall stress led to many students dropping the class. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. You will spend most of your life teaching yourself the material.
Apparently this professor is supposed to be teaching anatomy, so she has no idea what she is talking about in this class. do not take her.
On a personal level, Dr. McIntosh is wonderful. She is caring and wants the best for everyone, however she lacks that connection when it comes to the course content organization. You have 4 unit tests and 1 final. Every test is drastically different than that units covered content. You will be teaching yourself.
This professor said that she doesn't have to teach us and that we pay for the content. Made me realize the mistake I made enrolling in her class.
Her class was challenging, because it seemed like she did not even know what was going on. She also told me that the way I was doing a project was okay, but then graded me very harshly on it upon submission.
Her entire grade book was messed up by adding up to a point total that did not equal what was on the syllabus, which was extremely stressful and confusing, because it resulted in people receiving a grade that was not accurate. This wasn't some small point difference though, it was over 200 points from the projected 1000
She had a group of TAs but even then I didn't feel like we were getting any help, because no one knew what they were talking about.
DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. I don't think anyone knew what was going on. Her curriculum was planned very poorly and the tests were often nothing that she talked about.
Whenever I needed help with something I would have to see her pin person. She does respond to emails.
She doesn't tell us what to study, she just say that the test is going to be on the unit and that is all. Don't expect a study guide or any way that she could help you. She is far too lazy for that.
No study guides or any way to study for the exams. The most she would give is a short list of topics for us to figure it out on our own. Take this course and watch your gpa drop.
I understood everything as it was happening in class, but when tests started coming she didn't give any study material or any clear way to study. When test time comes you are left completely in the dark. I wouldn't take this class unless you are really good at instantly retaining information or want your gpa to lower.
Terrible test prep for exams. No study guides or something that would truly help you with the course. Not very understanding as a professor.
Easy A! I do not know who left a SPAM of bad reviews, but if you pay attention most are from one specific day. I get being upset with course material but I do not think this class was super bad. There was a learning curve in the beginning due to the heavy group work but the test average increases every time and you can always ask her questions!
This class was very heavy on group assignments but luckily graded based on participation. Group assignments consisted of a worksheet that was fairly easy to finish with group members. If you go to class and attend group assignments, you'll be okay. Professor was very nice and easy to talk to.
Guys do not listen to the bad reviews they are from the lazy crazy kids who attacked her and did nothing, Dr. Mcintosh did so much to the best of her ability she just got unlucky with a bad bunch of kids. As long as you ask questions and participate you will be fine all group activities are completion grades
I am not trying to bash the professor, but she needs to reevaluate her lecture style and offer a different approach. Most students struggled with her class, I sit down and do my work, but when it comes to understanding the content she has... you're left guessing what will be on the test. group work only does so much to float your grade.
Ignore the ratings that are a 1.0 and 5.0 difficulty made days in a row 🤣it's obviously the sane person
Something needs to change with how the class is taught. She's kind and tries to help by offering various study methods to help someone study and group work, but many of us struggled despite putting in real effort. I did the work and showed up, but the lectures were hard to follow and didn't match the tests. Group work only helped so much
Easy, simple online lab... way better as far as teaching in the labs than compared to the lectures, which I would not recommend. There are group projects, but this is a very easy class that is impossible to fail unless you just are not motivated for an online course
She is a good professor, exams are clear and concise. GO TO EVERY CLASS IF YOU CAN! Study her power-points and lecture videos, she highlights what we need to know in red. With that said it is a ton of work, from homework to in-class group projects, multiple quizzes: team and individual mini quizzes. Do not take her if you have other dense classes.
Absolutely awful would not take again if my life was on the line
I would t take this professor unless you know how to teach yourself. Don't expect the study guides to match the tests and don't expect this professor to actually teach the information.
This is a very difficult class and it is entirely the professors fault. You will need to teach yourself to get through the tests. The class averages were either failing or just barely passing. I wouldn't take her class.
I liked Dr McIntosh- she was friendly and I did pretty good in her class. I attended most every class and I think that really helped because lots of my friends struggled. I would suggest taking notes when she lectures and going back over all the group assignments she makes you do. Also watch crashcourse for test prep- easy way to help comprehension
God please make it stop
She's just doesn't have a good way of teaching, your going to have to figure most things out yourself and that can make this class unbearable.
She is a nice person, but cannot teach. She doesnt try to make sure everybody understands the material and just assumes everybody knows based off the one person who did well on her exams.
Great lab prof! If you finished early, you could leave. She stepped in & was AMAZING when a group member sabotaged/wrecked our project. Took reports, pulled version history, then fixed grades accordingly. Group assignments are still MUCH better than having to do the whole project yourself. (Ignore those 23 bad reviews, they're all from 1 person)
People are dragging it this class isn't that hard. If you show up to lecture and participate in the group assignments it'll help your grade just as much as the tests. She's a nice lady and there's a lot of resources for help. Just study NOT QUIZLET and you'll be fine.
Sweet lady, bad professor! reads directly off the slides and drones most classes about nothing, and she will skip over slides and info if it confuses her and say it's not important, just for it to show up on tests. iclicker is inconsistent and she provides no study guide. She does give extra credit opportunities but be prepared to teach yourself!.
Nice person, but could be a better teacher. Reads off directly from the slides, gets off topic half the class time, has a laid back behavior. If she provides study materials for a test, perhaps 5 questions out of the 20 questions on a guide will be on the test. Go to SI sessions, they will help! Prepare yourself to learn the material.
Honestly hated this class. She very sweet I just can't deal with her lecture. I was lost and confused the whole semester. Take a different teacher and choose peace.
Lots of homework she does not tell you about or wont post til day their due. Team activities were helpful. Be prepared to teach yourself she is willing to help but has literally told us she didnt understand the material until she became a teacher. 4 exams and a final. She does a grading scheme and that will probably be the only reason I pass.
Lots of last-minute homework and unclear instructions. Team activities help, but you end up teaching yourself. She even admits she didn't understand the material until she taught it. Paper exams, unhelpful learning assistants, and iClicker for attendance barely work. The grading scheme is the only lifesaver. Avoid if you can.
Lots of homework and unclear instructions. Team activities help. You end up teaching yourself. She doesn't even understand the material fr. Paper exams where she walks around and hovers along with the unhelpful learning assistants. Uses iClicker for attendance, but it barely works. The grading scheme is the only lifesaver. Avoid if you can.
i really liked prof. mcintosh. yes, you will have to teach yourself things, but if you pay attention enough during lectures and take good notes on the slides (which are posted and you can go back to review), i think it is a very manageable class. i like that there were a lot of activities to help you learn and bring your grade up :)
Poor teacher, but really nice lady. She has admitted to not knowing things and has a hard time reading graphs. The class itself isn't hard - the ppts provided are a good study material and required team activities contain test material. However, she doesn't remind you of hw until the day its due, which I have lost points to.
Hard class, she just reads off the slides, your better off just teaching yourself. Even though she has 4 useless LA's, you get assigned hw that you're never told about all exams are in person on paper, where her and her LA's just hover and walk around the whole time. The only good thing is that she is pretty lenient with late hw.
She made this class so much more difficult than it needed to be. Her tests are extremely difficult and wordy. Gradebook and D2L are very unorganized and hard to navigate. Lectures are pointless; she often got very distracted and wouldn't finish her sentences. She once the entire class that if we're bad at test taking, to just "get better at it".
Honestly, Dr. McIntosh was an amazing professor. She gave good powerpoints and all you had to do was study and go over them. While the tests are more application based, it is very much doable if you put in the effort to study and apply these topics!
