Dr. Wilson is a consummate professor. He offers great opinions and views, often about contemporary social issues, while allowing students to also voice their concerns about social issues. Also, there is a certain amount of writing for this course.

Had him for History of Black Americans and Intro to African Civ. I can honestly say that I think differently and more critically because of having Dr. Wilson as a professor. Ridiculously knowledgeable and approachable. Always available for help.

Very clear and interesting-makes you think-will help you out with anything-I asked for a letter of rec a day before it was due bc I had forgotten about it and he did it! Teaches in kind of a spur on the moment manner-but it works

a really nice guy... kinda funny, but his class is not easy. even though you only need to take two out of three tests (including the final), those test are not too hard, but not easy. often got off topic with students.

Leslie is the best, I agree with all the other comments and then some. He makes you think, and what's more, he makes you enjoy thinking, he really is an amazing professor...and he brought us snacks.

Leslie is the greatest professor I have ever taken at MSU. I've taken him twice, and would do it again if I could. He's so quiet but powerful. We love him...especially for honors classes!

Dr. Wilson is a great professor; gives thorough papers and thought provoking lectures. I laughed out loud during some class discussions. He is extremely helpful and will quickly respond to email. I took him for 3 classes!!

Most professors may be knowledgeable in their fields, but they are still narrow-minded idiots. Leslie is a glorious exception. Probably the best professor I've ever had, and really on top of things. You're never intimidated or insulted, and the material is great. Should be working in the White House

I had dealt with Dr. Wilson as a chairperson and for an independent study course. He is always helpful to students who need assistance for whatever problems they may encounter. I would highly recommend him for whatever course he teaches. He is a great person to work with!!

Dr. Wilson is a great professor. He is late a lot though ha ha, but that is okay. He is good when you have to hand papers in late and he is helpful. I recommend him to anyone, especially history majors.

He is my advisor and I must say that if it were not for him, I would have the worst Spring 05 schedule but I have the best. He is the best and such a nice man willing to help anyone who asks. I wish I could take a class with him but no luck so far...LET ME SEE WHAT I CAN DO!

Good manipulator in class. Doesnt teach jack about the subject in class. He only talks about present day stuff which is cool, but like i wrote before, HE DOESNT TEACH! The test gets trick with the multiple choice, He picks small little facts from the book.

Dr Wilson took over for Prof. Schwartz who left in mid-October due to illness and did not return. Wilson was great as where our discussions. He only gave 1 exam when Schwartz had 2 on the syllabus and cut 5 pgs of of our term paper. A great down to earth guy.

I had Dr. Wilson for an independent study. I would take the class all over again. He was very helpful in all that he taught, and was willing to go the extra step. If you are looking to learn in college, then this is a professor to go to.

Really makes you think in this class. 2 tests a 13 page paper and you don't have to take the final if you don't want to. Cool dude also!

Interesting subject, but don't bother coming to class. Read the book and show up for the exams (which are very easy). Class itself is full of off-topic discussions revolving around sports and sometimes current events which are irrelevant to the subject.

This guy is awesome. He really challenges your traditional American ways of thinking about history. I learned soo much about history, its construction, and the reasons behind its construction. 2 papers and 2 tests. Also gives extra credit, you'll do fine if you put in some effort..but of course, someone will fail LOL..

Study of History was mostly just discussion. He does assign A LOT of papers, but you a learn a lot by doing them. He's also very helpful and teaches something other than "jacked up history."

You;re in control.. hes not going to tell you that you have to come to class, you;re paying for college, you should want to go to class. Very nice guy and is always willing to help his students. He is a good resource.

I had Dr. Wilson for African American history. I had not the slightest interest in the subject, and was dreading the class, but he was probably THE best professor I've ever had. He's kind, and brilliant and helpful and you really learn a lot, but his classes are a challenge. Definitely recommended.

While he may not take attendance, you will miss valuable information. Dr Wilson can paint pictures with his words. His class is a journey well worth taking. You will need the text book; and a few papers are required.

OMG! Sitting in his class is like watching history unfold. He paints vivid pictures with his words, and pulls no punches. AMAZING! And I HATED history BEFORE this class. If you have to take history, this is the class to take.

ive had him 4 times in my college career and its not an accident. by far the best professor on campus. all of his classes are relevant, fun, and intellectually stimulating. he makes you think about things youve never thought about before.

Great teacher, very knowledgeable. Funny at times and is a great guy. Not too hard although does give a good amount of work. Only down side was he is very hard to get a hold of out of class, other than that great prof, take him u wont regret it.

This man is a genius. You will never be bored in class and he can be funny at times. His work is reasonable. My class had a blast and everyone liked him. Id recommend him.

Wilson is pretty cool. The class is easy because he really lets you do your own learning. With that said, you have to get the work done. Once you get the work done, its smooth sailing from there. His lectures are good, but a lot of it goes over your head because he presents stuff that is almost incomprehensible until half an hour later.

He's a really cool guy and is extremely interesting. Attendacne is not mandatory and class is very informal. Several writing assignments. My only complaint is that the way he establishes your final grade is not cool because he has this weird theory and its pretty much the lowest grade you recieved throughout the semester in his hist 100 class...

Class is easy, but there's alot of work...3 short papers (3-4 pages EACH) and 1 final paper (10-15 pages) you have to analyze about 14 websites...

Incredibly intelligent man who makes it a point to teach angles on life that are useful. He is fun, interesting and very thought provoking. His work can be tedious, yet the class discussions are great! I look forward to having him again.

Maybe the best professor I ever had. When I returned to school to finish my degree he provided a ton of help & advice. His style and presentation skills keep you interested in the subject matter. When I was laid off from my job he gave me the encouragement to continue my studies. I owe him a lot.

Professor Leslie is one of the best professors I had at Montclair State. 2 papers, midterm and dropped the final unless you needed it to help your grade. Lots of extra credit available. If you come to class there s no way you should get less then an A. I Highly recommend him he s awesome.

this guy rules. class should be rated in minds blown per hour. the 3-week summer version of this course is rough in terms of work load and pace, but that's what it is. wilson will change the way you think, and he is revealing and funny too.

I enjoyed the class alot! Took the 3 week class over the summer-There was alot of work, but hey, 3 credits in 3 weeks. It helped that all the material was really interesting!

This is a premier professor. He is one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever known. He is down to earth, classy, fair and entertaining. There is a reason people take him more than once in their college careers. His classroom is very democratic in that the students have a lot of say in the grading and style. Will blow your mind! Perhaps the greatest professor in the whole school. He completely changed the way I look at & study history. He is absolutely brilliant & really teaches you how to think. He will literally blow your mind. We sometimes walked out of class in a daze, due to his brilliancy (not kidding). I absolutely admire him. Take his class or forever be regretful.

Awesome professor but 98% of the assignments have no due dates so most of my classmates were struggling by the of the semester to get everything done...give urself some due dates to stay on track...very easy grader!

Dr. Wilson is the man! He literally is the smartest man that I know - he knows EVERYTHING! He is also very friendly, always has a big smile on his face. He will help you out with whatever you need - in or out of the classroom. He treats you as though you are equal, when you know that he's honestly better haha! Loved him!

One of the best Professors in the school. Has connections with every department to help you with anything. Weekly journals, and movie reviews but nothing due until the end of the semester. No midterm, No final. Had one presentation that was a group biography, gave everyone an As. Best professor the school has to offer in CHSS

Dr. Wilson is a kindhearted man with a vendetta against the Kardashians (Can't say I blame him). He was always there to make sure you had the help and resources needed to complete your work. The final paper had zero deadline and that was probably the most difficult thing about it. When one has no deadline, it becomes harder to complete the work

He takes a subject that is incredibly dry and required for history majors and turns it into an opportunity to teach how to think and write critically and to look below the surface of everything. He doesn't so much lecture as provoke lively class discussions. There is a lot of work, but he is very flexible with deadlines and gives helpful feedback.

Take him seriously and he will truly respect you. He loves to hear new ideas, and loves working with you. he is a great man and he loves what he is doing.

Dr. Wilson really is a great professor, its been years since I have graduated and I still remember him being one of the most informative and educationally sound professors I have ever had. I would suggest him to any history or education majors around. Just talk about transportation systems, its his favorite subject.

Wilson is a great guy but his papers lack a clear prompt that's hard to follow. That being said he does allow you to revise and resubmit to earn a higher grade.

Great class, he gives you numerous amounts of extra credits to do. I failed the first exam terribly but still received a good grade since I did all of the extra credits. They are simple and quick to do too. Def take him!!!

Often went on a tangent in class although it was still very interesting to hear his opinions on various things. The textbook is definitely your way of passing this class. Not a big fan of his teaching style although others may like it. He gives a lot of extra credit and the grading criteria is very clear. Fairly easy class and optional attendance.

He's amazing. He didn't just teach history, he taught us how to think and analyze things critically. Since the coursework isn't overly demanding I was able to enjoy the class more instead of constantly worrying about grades. He gives out a lot of extra credit, if you get anything lower than a B in this class then you obviously put in no effort.

Dr Wilson is easy going. However the key to passing is to read the textbook. His lectures are interesting but not much help when it comes to exams. He offers alot of extra credit so if you fail you really didnt try.

Professor Wilson truly is an awesome professor. If you want to do the work, he gives you every opportunity to get an A. The class is mostly discussion based and requires a significant amount of reading. The readings are from reputable sources and any supplemental material keeps to (mostly) moderate viewpoints. Simply put,the info is easy to digest.

A lot of papers but mas class really interesting. HIST100 is a class no one wants to take and no one wants to teach, but Wilson definitely makes it enjoyable.

I'm still in Prof Wilson's class right now for History of Black Americans (217). The most important thing is to actually read the textbook because tests or quizzes (depends on what your class decides) will be mostly from the text book and not class discussions. Not an easy A, but definitely worth taking. Hes a great professor.
