San Jose is stealing this exelent teacher from Cabrillo! I've taken Leslyns classes before and am so bummed that I can't take more. She loves teaching and is really funny. Take her classes if you can.

This teacher is excellent. She has a positive attitude, can get a class excited and is not over the top with her assignments.Her grading is also very fair and legitimate,if you can get your work done, you will pass this class and will love it and her.

I took her class in Spring 06. I love her class so much. She's a trully teacher @ SJCC. She is there to help her students. If you've any difficulty about public speaking, she'll guide you step by step to overcome the problem. I learned a lot from her. She makes her students feel proud of themselves in very encouraging ways. Not like other teacher

I took her class during the summer. With a limited amount of time we had, she did her best to help her students. I really enjoyed taking her class. We didn't even need to buy a text book. Very nice lady=)

She is a very nice teacher, not like others. Take her, there is no regret. I had an A in her Oral COmmunication. Only 3 presentations and she is not taking hard on students. There is no barriers.

Was like a First grade class. Only thing bad about class was final was like 95 % of grade and she did not give many A's on final.

Leslyn is a great teacher and always make the clase fun. Leslyn like to use alot of pyshcology and techniques in her class to get the informations across to her students. In her class, you focus on learning the first and worry about your grade later.

I had Leslyn for Oral Comm. She's a great teacher who makes funny jokes, LOVES her job, is passionate about standing up for the underdogs, and lets you eat in class. No need for books, just show up on time and do ALL the assignments and you'll pass with flying colors... and PLEASE don't give a speech that'll upset the class, give funny ones!!!

Take her for your transfer creds, she is Communication SJCC at its very best. Beautiful personality, helped me win a giganic scholarship reccomendation, got the A through office hours corrections w/h help, she is absolutely about seeing her students make it to University levels, she lives her lectures. Do your part too, you'll know easy from hard.

I love her! There is no book in the class. She is so helpfull with the speaches. We do fun projects in groups, I recommend her to everyone that needs a communication class.

WHAT?!?!? She is THE best teacher for the job of teaching communication. There were many non-native english speakers in my class and all of them did just fine! She loves to teach and does it well. You can tell comm is her passion and she makes it FUN. You MUST take her for any Comm class. She will bring out qualities in you you never knew you had.

One of the best professors I have ever had! I learned so much in terms of communication competence and improving group communication skills. This class was an eye opener. There's analysis paper that is worth a major portion of the grade in class but if you take good notes of the terms in the text & apply it effectively you will pass! She's helpful

Leslyn was a wonderful professor. She realizes that everyone learns in different ways and she does a great job of accomodating students as well as making the class fun and exciting. Leslyn runs her class in a very effective way. There were five main speeches in the coms 20 class: an introductory speech, an informative speech, a persuasive speech, a training speech, and an impromptu speech. Three all speeches require an outline, and critique after the speech. The class is easy, but be prepared to get in front of the class.

Ms. McCallum one of the best teacher for COMS 45 or any COMS classes. I liked the way she taught the class. We did alot of fun group actiivites for that class. There is no tests or quizzes except the final paper. She will grade your rough draft before you turn in your final. Overall this was a pretty easy class for the summer. I had so much fun.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK! She grades everything and counts everything. Homework is very easy. YOU HAVE TO BE ON TIME!!!! We had 3 question quizzes on the 3 pg chapters we had to read. Two major group presentations last one counts as final. She is awesome really easy going.

She is quite creative and enthusiastic in the way she teaches. Other professors need to take notice on her methods! The one thing that was frustrating was constantly changing due dates and lack of organization. To combat this, due everything on time so you are covered regardless of due date changes and keep everything she passes back.

Wooh she's one of the best teacher. Very fun and easy. Took her for summer and easy to pass. You need to do 4-5 homework. It's really easy to pass her class. Just do all the work. It doesnt have to be perfect.

I really am glad i chose this professor for oral communications. She is so funny, and she makes me always wanting to come to class time and time again. believe me youll learn alot from her class. if you interact with her, she will love you. small group comms was so fun (my awesome group helped too), we always leave early and there is no final test. you do like 4-5 hw papers and you can copy and paste from those hws for the final paper. def recommend this class. just dont turn your papers in late and you will for sure pass

A really helpful and informative COMS professor. She does not believe in massive amounts of written work and prefers to apply what we learn in vocal activities and group sessions. She's very clear and explains everything to you. I highly recommend this teacher.

She is always so enthusiastic, fun, charming, and an amazing teacher! She is a tough grader though so watch out! Unless you're a native English speaker, make sure to get all your papers checked at the writing centers! Class project at the end, we give back to a local cause! Easy A if you show up to class, keep up with the assignments, participate in your group and write at least at an English 1 level. Don't text or go on your phone cos she'll dock you points even if she doesn't call you out on it.

Honestly I wish I could do this class all over again. I fell in love with my group and with her teaching style, it was such a fun class not the typical college class you would expect. Loved her and her stories she is so entertaining. End of semester party is awesome. Take her!!!

Took her for small group communication and she is understanding, thorough, creative, attentive and entertaining. Only a few assignments, and she even took off the last big assignment in exchange for a class group activity. She is a one of a kind professor and I am stoked to continue taking her for communications.

Very easy class. If you can write in decent English, like a senior in high schoolEnglish 1A, and make a decent and somewhat of an effort response you will get an A. She dropped 2 assignments and last assignment was a group presentation. Other than that, you don't present and she is just and awesome professor. Definitely take her! Easy work and A.

Leslyn is one of my favorite professors. She loves Communication Studies and she seriously cares for her students. This is a very easy A. Show up, make friends and learn some interesting facts. You do a speech and write a couple essayspapers but she will fully help and guide you along the way.

Best teacher at SJCC! Her class was so fun and she is hilarious. Not many assignments but the one's we did have were very easy and could be done under 10 minutes. Just one essay as a final but it is the easiest paper you will ever write based on a relationship. A lot of group work but it makes the class more interesting and makes time go by faster.

There were supposed to be 3 individual papers we had to write, but she dropped one paper. Total, 2 individual papers, 1 group project and paper. The group project we have to present only in front of the professor, which she will schedule the time and day for your group to come in and present. She made the class fun and interesting.

I had her for Coms. She was amazing and informative. I enjoyed going to class each time. I discovered myself through this class. I recommend everyone take her class.

Coms 10 with this professor is not what you'd think. No public speaking or anything. Short movies and lots of little exercises are the bulk of this class. Get ready to move around the room and meet the people in the class. Not much homework but if given very short self evaluat ion type. Show up, be respectful she is extremely cool and easy going.

I really liked Professor McCallum but shes an incredibly difficult grader; wont give you an A unless you go way above and beyond. There are surprise speeches that will drop you down a letter grade if you miss & you cant make those up. She is very nice and will try to work with you if you catch her at a good time but its a difficult class!

She is a really nice person. Very knowledgeable and motivating. There are a few essays where you do a self evaluation in which she is a slightly tough grader. You will be fine though. Theres a group project where you volunteer at a non profit organization. She has a pot luck at the end of the semester. No exams or anything. I would recommend her
