Sociology simply means society with us. This Professor take his students into the society, to understand sociology by application,and not only in theory as other professors do. Attendance & answering questions in class are his top priorities.He makes the class easy to understand and encourages students to think. Easy "A" for serious students.

I had no interest in sociology, didn't even know what it was. Dr. Sibilski sparked an interest and showed me the importance of the subject. He stresses participation because he wants to know you are learning, and is willing to compromise and help everyone. A truly wonderful teacher, who makes learning fun!

Professor Sibilski is one of the best at MC. He's dedicated to his students and willing to raise your grade as long as you're putting the effort in. Participation in this class is key, even if you don't like participating he will find a way to make you speak. He finds different ways to make the class fun and interact with other students.

one of my favorite professor my spring semester. He looked mean when I first enter the class, but he was the funniest teacher. he loves teaching and cares about his students. He will push and push you to achieve higher. the class was great and I would strongly recommend taking his SO 101 class.

Great Professor. Is easy to learn from. Keeps his students' best interest in mind. Always willing to help. At first he may come off as a bit stern but turns into a sweet person later on. He is vary fair when grading as well. One key point is participation. He focuses more on understanding rather than memorization. He even helped me get published.

LOVED this class. The professor is really cool, and you really do learn a lot about Sociology. But this isn't an easy A class, you have to work for it, but honestly it's not too hard getting an A just participate and memorize whats on the first few chapters and you will do well!

The class is very interesting with its structure of lectures of chapters and group discussions. Participation really matters and it is important to ask questions as well as answer them. He expects you to read each assigned chapter thoroughly enough to talk about it. He also makes you use your mobile devices to use social media in the classroom.

Dr. Sibilski has a plethora of connections in his arsenal that he opens up to his students. He shares and relates his job at the World Bank, his experience as an Olympic cycler, marathon runner, and his involvement in the fight for causes such as Climate Change through the use of technology and multimedia such as cell phones, Youtube, Twitter, etc.

The professor was very unique in his teaching style and showed a major focus in students participating. Also he was clear in conveying the materials and lessons given to us.

He took participation and interaction as top priorities. We would engage in class discussions that were lively and interesting because we would go deeper into each subject rather than trying to scrat h the surface only. We would watch moving and interesting movies that showed us a different perspective on the world. Honestly I enjoyed the class.

Professor Sibilski is an awesome professor. He's very passionate about his teaching and demonstrates it through his lectures. He's hilarous! Always joking. Group projects and participation are a must to stay on his good side (which also means an A) WILL TAKE AGAIN.

Exams are based on the questions at the Chapter Review sections of the textbook. A very large part of your grade is based on your participation in class and how much you talk comment on things in class discussion. Get ready to use lots of social media. Very unconventional teaching methods, and a fairly nice grader overall.

A very engaging class. Dr. Sibilski's class taught us the tools we need to conquer any obstacle life might throw at us. He is a very knowledgeable man with a ton of experience. He incorporates videos into his lectures that really supplements the material. I would definitely take any class Dr. Sibilski's teaches.

It was about 4hours lecture, but it was not boring at all! He helps students to be participated in class. He is flexible on tests and quizzes. He wants to teach students more than judging them, and sure, he is an easy grader if you show your understanding and participation. The videos and discussion is delightful. Recommend to take his class!

I took Dr. Sibilski's SOCY100 class for winter 2015 and my only regret was that this class wasn't longer! He is an awesome professor! You MUST have the textbook! Get involved in group discussions! Don't be afraid to ask questions! He's super reasonable if you do your work. And don't come late or else you'll be sorry. Overall, he was enjoyable! :)

Clear agenda and he's also willing to bend over backwards to help you with anything you need. Always uplifting the class and showing us the we're more than what we think we're worth. Dr. Sibilski is one of the most passionate professors I have had. His attitude drives your work and he pretty much wants everyone to get a good grade&learn a lot . Dr. Sibilski is passionate about Sociology and a nice grader. He's a former Olympic cyclist, and work's for the World Bank. You'll use social media extensively for this class. We each sent about 50 tweets and 10 FB posts promoting articles related to social issues for homework. Do the HW, participate, don't be late to class, and you'll get an A.

If you should take Sociology Class, go get his class! He is such an inspirational prof. He helped a lot of his students to get the best grade and respected to every students' hard work. The key is dont come late, do the papers (only 2 in a semester), and be proactive in the class. I am so happy, I got A from him.

His class are fun and he makes sure to keep the class engaging. His assignments are never hard and only really asks you to put your all into it (and there's not even that many assignments). He just really wants you to take away something worthwhile rather than memorizing just to pass a test. Just make sure you participate and don't come late!

He literally told me if I participate more I would get an A and I did. At first he gives a lot of open note quizzes and a closed note test (which is literally the quizzes combined but never multiple choice). Showing up 2 class is a waste of time b/c u can do all that at home but show up anyway to get an A. U get 2-3 Five pg papers but they're easy

He's dynamic and totally into knowledge. Welcomes different perspectives and questions. Learning is rather easy, but productive at the same time. He has a good sense of humor and he is very humane to students. You wont regret taking this course with this professor.

Participate in class, write the papers he assigns and you will pass the class. He can sound rude at times but he's always kidding, so don't take it personally.

Hes very involved with social media so be ready to tweet away and take lots of pictures. He is fun and always has the class laughing. he gives lots of quizzes but they are always open book. But don't be late to his class he HATES it.

Professor Sibilski is a good teacher, he teaches the current and future of sociology instead of teaching us its history which can be pretty boring. We had a couple of quizzes, some open note, some not. We didn't have final exams, just 2 projects involving social media. Would highly recommend.

I'm really glad I took his class. He doesn't go too heavy on on syllabus or the theoretical material itself, but wants you to apply it in an everyday situation. His appointed projects: #WorldBicycleDay and #LoveUChallenge were quite fascinating to say the least. This also his last semester at MC, so people going to UMD should take him.

He is demanding, but fair. Very diversified class activities. Take him and you won't regret. Dedicated to his students.
