bad teacher, not fair grading..no matter how hard i worked on my essays ( tutors even corrected them), i always get the same grade..not fair at all!
She is really nice teacher. Her class is very organized and step by step. But it is really hard get A on her class. Her quiz are really hard though. You can take her class, if you think you have the great writing skills.

I took it in summer and I think it is the most easier class I ever have before. She is fun and her quiz and test weren't that hard but u just have to pay attention to class. Nevertheless I have to write many essay in her class even it is a listening class

Why everybody rates her weakly? She let me bring several articles to class(She accepts others opinions.She gives two nice novels to read.She was happy about our cultural party in class in the last session.She puts students into different groups so you get to know everybody.She discusses about novels' contents and themes well and enough.She is good.

Very bad.In grammar class,she teach reading instead of grammar.Her formula is ?????crazy.If u take,u can't get good grade.Lecture is very easy,but exam is totally different.SO HARD!!!If u got "D" from any quize or midterm once..That for u final grade eventhough u try to best in final exam.

She gave us a lot of homework which a little bit too much. But she is a good teacher and I learned some new ways to study English from her. Take her but don't forget to apply the class as a P/NP class. Or you will mess your GPA.
If I wanted to waste my life again, I'd take her class again. Her assignments included copying articles for times. Her demand for assignments was full of trifles. Also, be careful when you have questions. Very often she stared at the student who asked her questions. The text (smarthinking) she used was good, so I could ask e-instructors online.
Letty, whose tests and quizes are confused, gives a lot homework that causes you have no time for any other classes. She says "This is very very important" for almost everything in the class.
What should I say - She doesn't have skills to be a teacher, but I'm supprise why De Anza college has known as a good school still has a teacher like her. It's not because she is a hard teacher or giving out alot of home work, but it's because students learn nothing from her.

the writing class is terrible. i don't know why she likes in class writing a lot. and she only grade 100% as A, 90% B, 80% C, 70%D, all below F. it sounds ridiculous, how come! what the hell is that? I got A in esl 263, but this class it became even hard to pass. i wrote a 5 page eassy, and my classmate only 2 page , but the content score is same.
Terrible. This is a writing class and we must learn grammar. All she had taught us were about commas, period or a little about adjective clause ( she taught worse than ESL 253 class where I learnt all this things already) We had three in class writings ( inlcude final ) and one writing about cheese cake.One writing about cheese cake for whole quart

I took totally 6 ESL classes in De Anza. NO one is the better teacher than her. She is the best. Take her class if you want to learn something.

Her class is really boring. All the materials seems pretty easy but when she gave us tests, the tests are kind of tricky. I didn't enjoy her class at all. She always forgot what she told us to do, and interrupt students and herself all the time. I thought I'll be pass but I got NP.
She is the worst teacher i have ever met in De anza! I got all "A"s for my other classes, except hers. She gave me a "C". I talked to the director of ESL department. And showed my essays to other ESL teachers, they all thought i am definitly is above a "B". So they agreed to change my grade to a pass instead of a "C". By doing so, not ruin my GPA.

A kind Chinese woman. There is many homework. You need to finish reading a 256-page novel in two weeks. The class is boring, but you can learn something. It is hard to get high grade from her. Fortunately, ESL classes don't count GPA.

She is a good teacher for grammar. If you have problems about grammar, you will not feel conmfortable with her. You want to learn academic writing, take her class. Her class is very hard, but it helps you a lot.
I think that many students complain about her because they want to get a good grade without efforts. I read other comments, and I realized their grammar were incorrect. That's why some students did not get good grades. She is an Asian teacher, so you have to expect that she is strict on attendance and student attitude toward study.

Wonderful teacher if you are serious about learning the English language. If you're a slacker who doesn't give a crap about learning English, if you're a slacker who only cares about getting an A when your effort or knowledge merely demonstrates C quality work, then don't take her class. Teaching technique is antique and she can not answer a questions. This is the worst writing teacher I've ever had. Do not recommend this teacher to anybody.
She is so mean teacher that I've ever met. The way she taught is like communist dictator. I think she got influenced by chinese communism. If one of us didn't do the homework, she forced the whole class to type the homework again. We're College students not like elementary schoolers.I very strongly recomend you guys not to take her class .
I can't understand why people don't like her. Her grading system is kind of weird, but she is very kind, helpful, and patient. You can always ask her questions. She doesn't even give you a lot of homework. Take her!

Well, I don't know why there are lots of people don't like Wong's class. Her class is "OK" unless u guys "SO" lazy. She doesn't give much homework, we mostly stick to the book. We go to school to learn, not to expect easy teacher to give us easy or even "free" credit. I recommend Wong.

She tries to help us, but she has an accent. Quizzes have dictation parts and you have to write down what she says. That's the most difficult in this class. However, if you do what she says and study for quizzes, you can do well. Good Luck!!

Letty, her class is not BAD, but definitely not good. If you click into this professor. Chances are you are late in the registration and there are no more great teacher. One thing that I concerned that the teacher won't give the quiz back, so you can see what you did wrong. However you can make appointment to see you test but who have time for that. Students would like to see the results from quiz and correction. That is how they know what they did wrong and could learn from the mistake. Right ? Good teacher tho

Based on what I feel about this professor, I think it is great to take her class because you can learn a lot. Her lecture may not be very interesting, but her attitude toward teaching is respectful. Also, she gives us some tips about improving our speak skill. Take her as pass/no pass grade. Do all the homework and memorize the words, then pass.
