Internet marketing sounds really interesting, but from Workman, its worthless. I don't know if she even knows how to use the internet. I know because I run an e-commerce site, and nothing she taught was of use. Wait for another teacher, if you can.

This is a pointless class. She has her favorites from the beginning, and won't acknowledge the other students.
it's hard to go to the class because there is no reason to. just make sure you get the test reviews and take the tests and you should do fine. oh, and do good on the final project!
Don't go to class, except to get the test review sheets. She'll e-mail them to you if you ask. Easy tests and only one group project, which took a total of 2 hours to complete.
Letty is good professor.great class overall. CAUTION: choose your group WISELY.the **** who reviewed below me who spent only 2 hours on the project is someone who rode off his group.i had to do 90% of the semester long group project and i spent hours and hours of time on that thing. i got an A and got all my lazy group members A's as well.
Abrasive and rude, but she doesn't realize it. She does tries hard and knows her stuff, though.
Knows her stuff, but often uses canned presentations. She would be great if she did a better job of teaching. Is a business woman, not a professor, that's the reason.
She is one of the worst teachers at this school. She is unwilling to help anyone and is very unclear about everything. You will spend so much time working on her project that you will have no time at all for your other classes. If you want to have a life or do well in your other classes DONT TAKE HER CLASS
Went to her for help and she turned me away, she told me that she would not answer my questions and that i needed to show more effort. All of this after i told her i looked through the book and was still confused. horrible teacher
Tough teacher and will not like you if you don't try hard. The project is tough--CHOOSE group wisely!! She is a good prof to have in your corner--she can be short but fair. I liked her!

One of the worst teachers I have ever had. She is not willing to help anyone unless you are on of her favorites. She is knowledgable about the subject but is a terrible teacher! I would not recommend this teacher to my worst enemy!
If you all that is asked of you will get a good grade and know the subject, however, a lot is asked. If you can't commit don't take her. I loved the class, and I think Letty is a fantastic person. I wish she taught more classes
Tests are not related to anything discussed in class. Book isn't discussed in class. All of classes are devoted to her "special" project. Didn't treat students very considerately when questions were asked. I am neutral about this teacher.
The class isn't hard if you are at least skimming the book or coming to class. HER EXPLANATIONS ARE GREAT! She's not a push-over, but she'll help you if you come ahead of time. Highly recommended!
She is willing to help students, but only if you visit her on your own time. She is not willing to accomidate students in class and appears disrespectful. I had the constant impressions of a power trip, though I do not think she means to come off that way. She will work for some, but I do not recomend taking her as a teacher if you can help it.
Letty is a horrible teacher. Lectures consist of her talking about sears or her tacobell dog, and watching pointless videos. When a question is asked, she VERY often makes the person that asked it feel stupid or worthless. She does not listen. Her exams are made up of pointless facts that were never taught. Letty = Terrible teacher.
Letty is a worthless teacher. She is very into herself and spends much of the class period telling us of her accomplishments in life and how great she is. A big portion of your grade is a marketing plan. If your group sucks you are in deep trouble. She is rude to students. She seemed to pick a few favorite students, and was a jerk to rest
I am in Letty's class right now and I 100% disagree with the previous comment. Letty has been great to work with and has offered clear objectives for us to succeed in her class. Like any other class that you would achieve anything from, you must go to class and participate. I would refer Letty to those looking to actually learn the material.
Very hard. She expects way too much from students in this introductory course. Her grading is ruthless and the semester-long project is extremely intense. Choose another professor, she belongs in a graduate program somewhere and not this introductory course. Horrible experience.
Letty is does not change they way she wants something done, she is quick to help but only if you want to hear how she wants it. I got an A in the class because my group pulled together and presented a excellent project. The Project is graded VERY Harshly, I never read the book, get into a GOOD GROUP and no slackers, you'll be good.
Letty is more of a facilitator than a teacher. She merely walked through a few powerpoints and had us watch some old videos of commercials. We felt like we were thrown to the sharks on the group project. She adores the group project and assigns it in all her classes. Make sure you get a good group! This class was a disappointment.
Finally a class that demanded excellence! Had to work hard individually and with my group. This was very rewarding since it was a bar raising experience that got us totally involved in real marketing.
I didn't learn anything from her, I learned a lot from the book. You have to figure out what she wants. She expects too much and gives too little.
I dont know what everyone on here is talking about. I thought Letty was a great teacher. She is very willing to spend time with each student to help them with the Marketing Project. If marketing isn't your cup of tea than yeah it'll be boring. But if you are going to learn, Letty has a lot to offer.
Not helpful at all. All she wants and likes is to do things her way wether she is right or wrong. The class could be better if the idea was kept without the professor. I liked doing the Marketing plan, but disliked Letty too much because I didn't feel like I needed her to learn; all I needed was the book and the PPTs.
Don't waste your time by taking this class. You will learn the exact same from reading the textbook from your house. She has not spent a single minute the entire semester teaching us anything. All she does is hand out the powerpoints and asks the students to get in groups so that they can teach the class instead of her.
Letty does have a passion for marketing but I agree that its frustrating she assigns power point slides to us to teach rather than teaching us with her real life experience or stories. Dont be surprised to be teaching the class while she sits there.

Letty was extremely unhelpful. Her instructions were unclear and her expectations unrealistic. She belittled students, and I dreaded going to her class. I took her service learning marketing class, and I think that the requirements were too high considering I am merely a business management major and not a marketing major.
If you want to go into marketing take another class. She is a terrible teacher, she gives minimal information on assignments, but then grades very harshly. She expects all students to meet with her after class numerous times throughout the semester, if you don't you are screwed. I would never recommend this class to anyone!

This class was a ton of work. like a TON. I don't think i have ever worked so hard for a grade. I learned a ton though. She made you learn every thing. which is good. She wasn't always to clear on the assignments. But she is very willing to go over it with. She was a good teacher.
Avoid her whenever possible. She gave assignments with little instruction which she graded harshly, she was never available for help, she announced we were dropping our final in place of a presentation but in the end we completed a 100+ pg group consultation, an oral presentation, and a 22 chapter comprehensive final all within the last 2 weeks.
Learned a lot from the project (which she does in every class she teaches no matter the subject) and about marketing in general, but learned nothing from her or on Advertising and Promotions which was the name of the course. Didn't get the book, didn't pay attention in class did our project EXACTLY the way she wanted it and got an A. Try to avoid.
I don't know what everyone else on here is talking about. I took this on the block and it was great. She gave detailed instructions on assignments and gave a great study guide for the tests. She was almost always available to go talk to her and I got very quick replies to my emails. I only wish we would have had some more time for a good project.
Learning by doing. Hardest class I have taken but WORTH IT. Doesn't waste time with hard tests. Whole semester was building a marketing plan for a real company. Didn't take BS for real work. Graded extremely hard until you did it right. You can't BS your way thru the real world, and she gets that across well. Recommend 1000x
I really enjoyed this class. Study guides were very helpful on Exams, presentations were fun, and the term paper was interesting. The overall workload wasn't heavy. This was by far my favorite class this semester!
For principles of marketing? Two words, TAKE HER! She is awesome! Her assignments are REALLy easy, her lectures are fun and interesting, and I dont even think we had tests. You'll love her.
Dr. Workman is terrible.Tells you what she expects for her assignments but grades off another set of standards. When you try to ask questions or get clarification on anything she talks down to you like you are an idiotic child. I pay a lot of money to attend UVU and am insulted by the way she treats her students. Would not recommend her to anyone.
Class could have been very interesting and beneficial. Professor is very disorganized. Couldn't keep up with her constant changing of how things were to be done.
I really enjoyed this professor. She really cares about Marketing and is knowledgeable on the subject. The study guides are awesome preparation for the test and the homework seemed reasonable. I would recommend her highly.
Dr. Workman is excellent. I learned so much in her class. Show genuine interest and she'll be your best friend. Take marketing from her. Not much homework. Projects are worthwhile.
Professor Workman has an infectious passion for Retail Management and is without doubt one of most invaluable assets of UVU. I highly recommend taking a course from her.
Dr. Workman is an excellent teacher. The assignments were directed to teach students how to apply marketing to the real world. Very easy grader. Moderate amount of reading. I highly recommend Dr. Workman!
The class wasn't too hard. There were three small papers that were essentially teach a chapter to the class with a short presentation (like 3-4 slides short). She was an easy grader on that. There was a big qualitative semester project that wasn't too bad. She gives study guides for each test. As long as you use it you'll do fine on tests.
Seriously this woman has issues. Heaven forbid that she make a mistake or you make a mistake. Very arrogant and condescending.
Dr. Workman is one of my favorite teachers I have had at UVU. She has a strong passion for marketing which is shown through her teaching. She has a fun personality and truly cares about the success of her students. Her class is very organized and she gives clear instructions for assignments. She is also a fair grader. Definitely take her class!
She's the sweetest. In class there were three chapter assignments-paper and a presentation for each. They were pretty easy, and she gives you 100% if you do it. Tests are really easy-straight from the study guide. One BIG paper. Long, and you do research (interviews) before hand. You have to transcribe the interviews, which took me almost 3 hours!
She is very nice. Sometimes she is a little unclear of her expectations but if you ask she will clarify a little better. If you at least do the work with minimal effort you can receive a B.
Fantastic, and would absolutely take more classes from her. She expects you to show up to class and participate. However, all of her slide shows are available online. She posts all of the assignments on the first day of class as well, so you really do not have an excuse to not do them. She's very passionate and makes the class time go by very fast.

She comes off all tough and serious at first but she is the Grandma I wish I had. Super caring and wants you to succeed. There are NO group projects. 3 tests with a super easy outline. 3 assignments where you read a chapter in the textbook and apply it to marketing. 1 paper-8 pg. If you go to class you will get an A. Her lectures can be a bit dry.
Professor Workman is very passionate about what she's teaching, which made the class very interesting. Since I took this during the summer, we had less time to do the same work. There's a main term research paper that is highly involved. She paces things to help you stay on top of it. Choose a topic that interests you and you may have fun doing it.
I was honestly surprised by some of the ratings on here. Letty is one of my favorite professors at UVU. She is caring and passionate about the subject and wants students to succeed. The term project is a lot of work but if you don't procrastinate it really wasn't bad! I hands down recommend this class!
This class is a joke! You are required to attend class for less than 15 minutes of lectures and then go home. You basically learn out of the book with little relevance from the professor. If you have any questions, don't bother she always needs to leave for the train. I love marketing, but UVU needs a different professor for this class. Don't take!
She is the best! One long paper but it uses so many long quotes that it wasn't hard to meet the 8 page max. All of her tests are straight off of the reviews. Be respectful and share examples in class and you will be good!
Wow. I don't know who is giving this woman good reviews. She literally requires groups presentations every other class period. I think she only lectured like twice all semester. If you don't suck up to her, good luck getting an A. Not possible unless you become her pet. She's probably a great person outside UVU... other than that, do not take her.
I really enjoyed Professor Workman's class! Attendance is mandatory, there's 4 tests (including the final), and the big term paper. As long as you study for the tests and don't procrastinate on the paper/those related assignments you should do well!
Class was interesting and she is nice but the assignments are not your usual college course assignments. Much more in depth and more work, not a tone of assignments though.
Letty is the best prof I've had at UVU! She loves her job & loves to teach. I respect her and her knowledge of the subject. The class is easy! Just do your assignments, which ARE NOT difficult. 2 assignments took a good amount of time, but not difficult at all. She is an easy/fair grader as well. Take her at all costs. You will love her class!
Letty was a great teacher if you appreciate work done the old school way. (Submit in person.) It was a presentations class but not like the others at UVU, she LOVES information on your slides. The more the better! If you go to class every day and work with your group you will for sure get an A. Filling out the SRI got me an extra 10 pts. as well.
This woman is ridiculous. I typed more papers in this class than my english class. She is so rushed. Lectures so fast and expects you to remember it. So focused on the stupid term paper. The term paper has to be done exactly right or she will fail you. I learned nothing about consumer behavior. Was way to buy worrying about the stupid paper.
The truth is that Professor Workman's classes aren't overly difficult. I took two classes from her. Both classes had four tests, a presentation every week, sometimes every other week. With your presentations, you turn in a two-page explanation of your presentation. The final isn't cumulative. Her grading criteria aren't clear, but you'll pass.
Awful teacher! everything that you do are presentations and writing a paper. She doesn't have any soft skills, super rude and she always thinks that she is right. Even if you want to give your opinion on something she will tell you that you are wrong and humiliate you right in front of the class. DO NOT GO TO HER CLASS! PLEASE!
Has 4 test, no comprehensive final. Work on the final paper all semester, and you will be fine.

Great Professor! At first she comes off as strict and a bit cold. But as the semester progresses you will learn that she is very caring and has a good sense of humor. There are 3 assignments made up of a paper and presentation. Other than that the end of semester Research Paper is the pinnacle focus of the class. A LOT of work goes into the paper.
This class was awful. she has no idea how to do online classes, the modules were all screwed up not showing the proper due dates on assignments. She gives awful feedback. Most assignments I got a good grade on, but all she did was critique what I did wrong, very nit-picky. She shouldn't be a teacher if she isn't going to be helpful or encouraging.
Worst professor ever. I've never felt so uncared for and disrespected in a class. She only cares about her opinion and her rubrics, not if the content is good or if you learned anything. It's an easy class, but don't expect to do well on the paper. I am a straight A honors student and she called me a liar and said I chose not to listen to her.
If you don't like group projects, I would consider taking another class or another professor. You have a weekly group assignment, 4 large group projects, and the final is a group presentation. Dr. Workman is passionate about Retail Management and has a lot of experience. She was very accommodating to any issues and provided lots of feedback.

Run, do not take this teacher. I am a 4.0 student and on my final paper out of nowhere, she gave me an F (49%) because I did not write on a topic that aligned with her beliefs. I reached out to her with questions on my grading and she got defensive and quit responding to my request to meet with her to discuss it in person or over Zoom.
I have never felt like a teacher wanted her students to fail until I met Letty, I would not take this class. Spent over 15 hours on my final paper to have it bomb-shelled, good luck.
Letty is a great professor. Her class is easy to pass if you just do your part. She is a strict grader, but she gives clear and detailed grading rubrics. I took the class online, but when communicating through email she was always very kind and respectful. She is very knowledgable and passionate about the subject, and I learned so much!
I think the hardest part of this class was that this was her first time doing an online course and it showed. Her Canvas course was so disorganized. She had assignment instructions in a totally different place than where you actually submit the assignment and everything was all over the place, which made it easy to miss assignments.
She grades with a heavy emphasis on trying to find ways to make you lose points. Her assignments are silly. Instead of encouraging students to use technology to make assignments easier, like the real world, she makes you type a massive amount of unnecessary busy work.
Hypersensitive to formatting and her rubric. While some level of adherence can be expected, there were some papers I literally lost half my points on solely because the works cited page didn't have proper formatting (missing italics and a year to be specific). I understand missing points for errors but missing 50% is beyond excessive.
It seems like everyone else here is on the same page. For a consumer behavior class there sure was a lot of emphasis on APA formatting and non-specified grading criteria. Grades heavily on minor technicalities rather than marketing content. Avoid if you can.

Awful teacher. Assignment descriptions and grading criteria is super vague, but she will penalize you heavily if you can't read her mind. On an assignment with no page # requirement she will dock you if it's too short. She grades on how many pages it is, but not on the quality of it. It's almost like she wants you to fail. STAY AWAY!
She is extremely picky about her APA format. The term paper is not graded on content but rather how well you can mimic the example paper and follow her strict rubric. She does not care about marketing. She should be an English teacher with how strict she is with the papers. Avoid her class. Youll learn more about APA formatting than marketing.
Professor Workman is terrible, I am sure she is an excellent academic but her organizational skills and overall lack of compassion or empathy destroys her credibility. She cares more about the formatting of a paper than the content itself and will doc more than half of your points if she sees fit. She will also assign ridiculous amounts of homework
I have NEVER left a review for any professor until now, this one was bad. In order to do good in this class you will have to learn to read her mind as to what she wants from your assignments. She will dock you points for not including references when she didn't mention them anywhere on the instructions, just please skip this one.
Avoid Professor Workman like the plague if possible. The most frustrating part of her MKTG 3620 (consumer behavior) class for me was that my very best and hardest work was rewarded with 43/150 points. When I asked what I could do to improve, I was told to do better on the next assignments. Extremely difficult to work with and would NOT recommend.
One of the ABSOLUTE worst professors at UVU cares more about format and APA than marketing in general. I'm only halfway done with the class and the amount of homework and unnecessary assignments are unbelievable. I have not learned one thing about marketing and have wasted my time by taking her class. Find another teacher for this class!!!
HORRIBLE professor. I am a 3.9 cumulative GPA student and spent 10+ hours on my final paper just to receive a 78% on it--the exact same grade as another student who only wrote half the amount of pages required. I am barely getting an A- in the course. I don't know if Letty is sexist or hates life, but she is the WORST PROFESSOR I have ever had.
Avoid this professor. She has very unclear expectations for how to complete assignments, and I would often get poor grades for not following the assigned prompt... despite the prompt being wholly insufficient at conveying what was expected for the assignment. She's a stickler for APA format. I learned nothing from this class.
This class was put on Canvas and left on cruise control. When I talked to Workman my needs were not met in a respectful way. She did not provide feedback in a clear way and was rude when I asked questions. This being my first semester at UVU since transferring this course made me question whether the professors actually cared about the students.
