Shes a really good Professor who cares about her students learning.
Her class was one of the best classes I took in my undergrad college career. Lot of discussions and real world cases, definitely makes the class very interesting. She also really makes an effort to get to know her students and is very helpful in and out of the classroom. You ll miss out on something if you don't take her class.
Li is very refreshing as a teacher - funny, intelligent, caring. Among many topics (real world cases, PPP, current events, the intl landscape, exchange rates), Li took the extra time to help those who needed it! She supplements the book/lectures with the real world implications. Assigned meaningful homework. Very clear. Inspires me to do my best!
She doesn't think grades matter/tests are effective so she makes her 2 MidTs 10% and Final 15%. Our class discussions (which is the majority of our class) don't focus on test material usually but they're interesting. You only need to read the sections in the book that correspond to the ones included in her notes slides.
Every class you must sign in and other students grade your participation on a point based system. Her directions are someone contradictory and very confusing, but she will be adaptable in adjusting deadlines. Exam 2 is hardest and EC given on tests. Participation is 20-25% of grade, a group paper and pres is 20%, one other paper and 3 tests.
Thinks that everything we need to know for the test can be found through reading the textbook so lectures are spent going off tangents and focusing too much on examples instead of further explaining the concepts that she heavily tests on. Lectures are a waste of time and textbook is useless as well.
If you're only thinking about grades, you're missing a lot. School is also about enriching your values and perspectives. You know how hard it is to be brave and provide a diff POV about the world and then get in trouble with HR? She inspired me to look at the world in a different way. She has moral courage. That's what matters the most.
Wow! She did so much for the students from my observation. There were real companies as clients, executives as advisors, Sugarfina & Pizza Press catering. It's a consulting class that requires high business acumen and no hand holding. You present at the end. The entrepreneurial spirit and real world issue prepared me for my job right now.
So I didn't know that Li Dai is a warrior PHD prof who specializes in the "informal" market and conducting business in warzone. She is very respected in her field and should be teaching other PHD's. I'm not sure why everyone is only focusing on the grades, but y'all need a broader worldview. Just go talk to her. She loves her students.
Worst teacher at lmu hands down. Every class is just her rambling about YouTube videos she found interesting. She doesnt teach anything just asks dumb questions and wastes everybodys time.
This prof is so terrible. She goes on rants about useless topics and rants about her own personal conspiracy theories/ beliefs. Have fun learning everything on your own for the test. She also says very rude and offensive comments about the class and students in the class. Not a healthy environment. Stay away. Very strange class.
It is so easy to stay focused in class because she makes the subject matter so easy to understand. The kindest, most hilarious and honest teacher I have ever had. Tests are easy, as long as you do the study guide & read the textbook (but that's on you) the subject matter isn't rocket science, just terms and concepts so it isn't hard. TAKE HER!!!!!!
You either love her or hate her. Sure its an easy class but I did not learn anything from it. Tests have nothing to do with class material and all she does is complain in class. Not worth LMU tuition. Definitely better alternatives.
She doesn't do the political correctness/feminist bs and pretty funny. I enjoyed the thought provoking questions and situations she presented. Don't take if you're easily offended or can't be exposed to different sides. Have some sense of the real world.
Professor Dai is a knowledgeable professor that knows the ins and outs of INBA. Her lectures was filled with wholesome knowledge about the real world. She is very sweet and kind, but textbook reading and attendance/participation is mandatory to succeed in class. I have learned so much about the real world in one semester from Professor Dai.
One of my favorite classes ive taken in a while at LMU. Class is very discussion based and includes many current events as the class progresses. Lecture is half the class and discussing class topics as they relate to current events is the other half. A great and refreshing perspective from Dr. Dai
Dr. Li one of the best Prof at LMU, she really cares about her student. She is very intelligent, and she knows very well about the INT BUS. She prepares us for the real-life ( so many great examples from real life) You can reach her anytime, easy to communicate. Her class was very fun, but the same we learn a lot, thank you, Dr. Li.
The professor is very good at what she does. She loves teaching and is very caring when it comes to students. Her lectures are amazing and very true when it comes to real life matters. She has a keen eye on seeing the truth behind everything (news, media). I recommend this class to everyone who wants to learn something to be used in the real world.
Professor Dai is truly a very caring, funny, respected, and intelligent professor. She was very kind to me the whole year and she accommodated me due to personal issues throughout the semester. She is a very fun professor and her lectures apply to the real world. You will learn a lot in this class, trust me.
Professor Dai made my first, and turbulent, semester easy to manage. Her discussions gave incredible insight into important geo political issues.
If you want to learn more than the surface of this class and carry your knowledge to see the world in a more observing lens, then you came to the right place. Expect to understand her lectures, and always be open to listen to her various viewpoints. Tough grader, but gives incentives to make us want to do better in the next tests.
An absolute BLAST in this class. Prof. Dai is one of the most passionate professors and individuals I have had the pleasure of meeting. She does not sugar coat things whatsoever but she cares about hearing her students' voices unlike any other professor I have studied under. Show up to class (WORTH IT, hilarious lectures), participate, and study.
Dr. Dai is a great lecturer with a lot of knowledge to share! I thoroughly enjoyed every lecture and debate that we had in class. There were few assignments to turn in but each one had a specific purpose and was not just busy work like usual. I learned more than I have from any other professor thus far about course material and world views!
Dr. Dai would seriously do anything for her students. GO to class and participate you will do just fine. This is not your normal international business class you will learn so much more. Lectures are done so well and each assignment given has a certain objective in mind (1 paper, 1 group project, 3 tests) . If you get the chance PLEASE TAKE HER!
One of my favorite classes at LMU. Not only does she do a great job explaining business concepts in lectures, but she leads entertaining class discussions and debates. She doesn't do the political correctness nonsense and will challenge you to research and make educated thoughts on controversial topics. Just participate and you will do well.
Dr. Dai is one of the best Professor in LMU. She genuinely engages us in every lecture and learned a lot from her. She is caring and would help all of her students outside of class. The group project and her lectures expanded my knowledge about the real world.
Dr. Dai is one of the best professors I have had at LMU. She values learning and really cares about her students. She teaches current events that make you look at the world in a different way. Her class is very fun and unique; don't miss out on taking her class.
This is a class and a half. You learn a lot about real world stuff so it's not another boring foundation course. 3 tests including final, one short personal interview, two current events, and a term project is all we're graded on besides participation. Tests require studying but other than that it's pretty basic.
Professor Dai is the the most engaging professor that I have taken. She exposes her student to another dimension of education that many do not realize even existed. Her class equips students with skill sets that will help students significantly in the business world. She is caring, and she is inspiring. This is a must take class.
Read the textbook chapters to study for exams, as lecture material won't generally be tested on. Lectures are loosely based on the same topics as the textbook, but revolve mostly around discussions that allow significant leeway for intellectual exploration that you'll rarely get in most classes.
SHE HAS TENURE is all i have to say. Her lectures are great because of how informal they are and how much stuff you learn. Tests are only based on the textbook, so you don't really need to take notes during class you can just participate in the discussion. She provides study guides which are great for the midterms and final which are both 25%
One of the nicest professors and definitely not a usual lecture heavy class. She will tell you things that nobody else will and if you're not open minded this class is not for you.
Three noncumulative tests, an individual assignment, a final group project, and quite a few debates. Honestly, this is an amazing professor because you learn how to research and think (without too much work). Opens your eyes to new views. Take her class for stress-free mind expanding especially if you plan on participating and YouTubing arguments.
This is one of the most important classes I have ever taken. The debates are thoughtful and insightful. She gives little to no homework, yet you walk away knowing more about business and how the world works.
She is a great teacher, she tells to you the truth about everything. Take her class!!!
Dr. Dai is one of the realest professors on campus. Her class was extremely open for questions and discussion and felt so welcoming.
one of my favorite LMU professors ever!!! The realest, so easygoing and chill. You have to pay attention in class, but you will want to because she makes everything so interesting and applicable to real life. love love love her!!!
Dai Li is one of the best professors at LMU, she has opened my eyes on the world and I feel enriched after taking her class. Although she gives almost no homework, you learn much more effectively than in other classes because of class discussions and doing research when preparing for class debates. She is easy going and treats everyone equal. BEST
The best professor I have had at LMU hands down - doesn't sugarcoat topics and opens your mind to teachings and current events around the world. Really gives you a glance at a realistic view of the inner workings of our world.
u will never b bored. sometimes says conspiracy level stuff she usually has something to back up her claims. I love going to class bc debates r fun & lectures r super engaging. if u don't like participating don't take her. if u like fun lectures, do. u learn so much ab the way the world works just by listening to her and by doing debate research.
She would teach the class material hastily and say it's not essential in the real world. You learn some neat things about our world but not the things on the exam. She has a high IQ and is very intelligent at times, but her ego does get in the way of her teaching, and she ends up not teaching the material very well.
Professor Dai is one of the most polarizing professors at LMU, and for good reason -- she is not afraid to speak her mind and deliver real-world lessons. Yes, you must be open minded to do well, but Professor Dai really cares about her students and has taught me more things I'll actually remember than any other business course at LMU combined.
The professor was very engaging. She really cares about the success of her students and clearly lays out the guidelines. She educates her students and equips them with the essential skills to dive deeper into issues as opposed to believing surface-level information. She is really funny/one of my favorite classes yet. Would take again!
Professor Dai is one of the best professors at LMU. She is incredibly understanding, hilarious, and engaging in her lectures. This class debates/discusses a lot of controversial topics, so to truly get the most out of it and enjoy the class, then you MUST have an open mind. Take this class to open your eyes to the world with a wonderful professor!
I loved taking this class because I learned so much about international business and its application in the real world. There is so much to learn that I highly recommend students take this class. Amazing Professor!
Great Professor. Take this class if you want to learn real world stuff.
Great professor! Really cares about informing her students about what may be going on in the real world! Tests are hard, but class discussion is great. Read the textbook and participate in class!
You learn about the real world and what really goes on. She definitely knows her stuff. Everyone should take her class. Doesn't sugarcoat things.
Really enjoyed this class because of how discussion based it is, feel like I learned more from the discussions we would have. Professor is super caring and kind, she's well versed in her topics and super understanding! Structure of the class is one group project, usual chapter lectures, and debates. Would definitely recommend to take :)
She's brilliant, funny, and caring. Her lectures and topics talked about in class are thought-provoking. It's not like a traditional classroom, but still valuable to take.
Dr Dai is a great teacher, take her! I learned about so many subjects that have increased my knowledge and will definitely help me stepping into the real world.
She is an amazing person who teaches you about important world issues. Class is always entertaining and fun. Tests are tough, but she gives you all of the information you need to get a good grade.
I loved international business class with Dr. Dai! I think she offered an interesting perspective on International business without making it too boring or lecture heavy. She used in class debates a lot to get us involved and it was by far the most student discussion across all of my classes. Her class was topic based over the textbook content.
She's very intelligent and will definitely broaden your outlook on the world in a big picture way. You will leave the class much smarter than when you entered. She doesn't follow the textbook too much which is nice, the class is really centered around discussions about current events so if you participate you'll have a lot of fun in the class.
I learned a lot in this class and became more open minded about the truths of the world. I also learned a lot about deciphering my own beliefs based on what I am taught. Would definitely recommend if you enjoy an interactive class environment.
Be prepared to learn about the real world. She's unintentionally funny. Come into this class with an open mind.
funny professor. very entertaining. take her to actually learn about the world.
Get ready to learn she is caring of her students and wants the best for them. You will leave prepared for this world after.
Dai class was the only one that fit in my schedule but I am so happy I ended up taking her class. She is the best and she teaches more in-depth stuff about the world. If you have the opportunity please take her class. REALEST PROFESSOR AT LMU. just be prepared to participate.
She is a great professor. Matieral is digestable if you review it more than once. She makes you uncover the truth of the world. You learn valuable things beyond the textbook. Great class.
Dr. Dai is a great professor, she really opens your mind and perspective on how we view the world. Her tests are based off of the textbooks and she offers extra credit on them. I have been recommending her class to all my friends. She cares about her students and wants everyone to learn. Definitely give her class a chance!
Dr. Dai is an entertaining professor, who makes business very enjoyable. She covers a wide range of topics, allowing you to learn about real world problems. This class definitely helps you to consider your place in society. I appreciate Dr.Dai's openness as an educator and I wish more professors were like her!
TAKE HER CLASS!!! She is hands down my favorite professor at LMU and teaches you about what really goes on in the world. Her class is entirely discussion based with a lot of debates so get ready to speak. She is not afraid to speak her mind and encourages her students to do so as well. A MUST TAKE!
Dr. Dai is one of the best professors at LMU. She teaches you the truth. She forces you to think for yourself. The class is all discussion based with debates at least once a week. If you're not interested in doing your own research or are a close-minded person, DO NOT take this class. This class really opens your mind to how you view the world.
Beware, she loves conspiracy theories, and if you do want to take the class, PROCEED WITH CAUTION; lol, she will make you think outside of your average capacity!!! She's the best, and her exams are light work and are heavily graded towards weekly debates and one group presentation at the end, which is also very doable and not that hard. TAKE HER!!!
conspiracy theories one after another! dr. dai's class was always so interesting and I never knew what to expect. A few tests were the generic textbook tests but participation was the most important grade overall. no busy work!
best professor i've ever had. one of those classes where i thought to myself, "i was meant to be at lmu and take this class with this professor." she teaches u how to critically think and u will forever use the skills she gives u. 100/10.
I wanted to like this class but I didn't at all. It felt like the professor was all over the place with the way she ran her class and I didn't understand the relevance of her debates to international business. I wish I asked other business students before enrolling. In my opinion, this class may not suit everyone if you like structure!
Best teacher at LMU by far! Love Professor Dad
best teacher i have had so far at lmu. your grade in course is based on participation and not exams like a typical college class. She makes each and every class exceptionally interesting and teaches us not to believe everything we read and see without doing our own research.
We love u Dr. Dai
Dr. Dai's International Business course is truly a transformative journey with engaging lectures enriched with real-world insights. This class thrives on active involvement, catering to those seeking more than passive learning. Dr. Dai's teaching transcends the classroom, making her an exceptional educator.
Professor Dai has been the most life changing and eye opening professor I have ever interacted with. Yes, she touches the textbook but she goes way beyond that. She had the most important quality I think any professor has to have which is the encouragement of individual thinking. She would encourage us to speak our mind and use analytical skills.
Dr. Dai is the best professor at LMU! Hilarious and inspirational. TAKE HER
Overall a fun class that was pretty challenging. The difficulty in this class will most likely be from outside the class where you'd have to do your own research. If you're a person who likes to be spoon fed the information for class then probably don't take this one.
be aware this class is about conspiracy theories. discussion based. not great with structure and controversial opinions in the class. was not what i expected and not my cup of tea
Although I heard this was an easy A course based on purely discussion, I dropped the course because it was not a standard class setting. Most of your grade is debates on conspiracy theories. If u don't conform to conspiracy theories, you probably will not do well in the class. Changed to another regular international business professor instead
A captivating yet controversial academic experience with Dr. Dai, exploring conspiracy theories from COVID being fake to math being racist. While her lectures intrigue with bold claims, the advance of unsupported ideas raises ethical concerns about lies in academia. Conversational class and she tries to record it. Hi Dr. Dai I know you read these:)
Dr. Dai is easily one of my favorite professors at LMU. Her lectures are engaging and she uses real world examples to help teach the content. Her conspiracy theories have taught me a new way to look at the way that the world works - if I didn't have her class I don't think I would have gotten an eight of the knowledge out of this class as I am now.
Dai's class changed my view on literally everything.Class is challenging, but Dr. Dai truly cares about her students& is always open to offering feedback&help.Come to this class with an open mind& prepare to be introduced to interesting conspiracies& insights. Changed my perception of the world& what is going on beyond what mainstream news tells us
Dr. Dai is not qualified to be a teacher. As a researcher, she's supposedly great. But she has a loose relationship with empirical evidence and objective fact. She has trouble weighing information and ideas with regards to their speculative nature. Conspiracy theories aside, you won't learn about IB in this class. Also, easy A if you care; I didn't
Dr. Dai is the best professor at LMU. She does not try and indoctrinate us with fake news. While unconventional, I have never met a more caring, intellectually smart person. She speaks the truth when everyone is afraid to especially with topics like Covid. She is beyond entertaining as well and there is never a dull moment.
Best Professor. Very controversial with faculty but she brings up points to debate and really makes you think and do your research. Even if she gives her own opinion, you will still learn a ton about the world.
The first few days I wasn't sure I could stay in her class, but 15 weeks later she is one of my favorite professors of all time. Does she say very controversial things? Yes. Did I love every second in her class? Also yes. Dr. Dai really wants you to learn and "open your eyes" and for me she did. She cares deeply about her students and is so funny.
Dr. Dai is my favorite professor that I have taken throughout my time at LMU. She encourages her students to think deeper into the world rather than solely memorizing definitions from the textbook. Aside from international business knowledge, through insightful and organized debates, you are able to learn new research skills & how to formulate it.
This professor is not only unconventional and unstructured, you will not learn a single thing about international business in this class. All you do is argue about conspiracy theories with the class. Even though it is an easy A, I found this class n teaching style so weird. P.S. Ask former students since they were informative n don't trust reviews.
She's a professor of conspiracy theories!!!!! Super weird vibe, 10/10 do NOT recommend.
She yells to get her point across & can be very hostile to students.
Don't take her if you actually want to learn something other than weird conspiracy theories!!!!! LMU should look into this professor... there's something seriously wrong with this professor.
This probably will be the best class I've ever taken at LMU because of our professor. You will learn absolutely nothing about IB but you will have debates every week and can literally spew random BS to get an A. Quite literally the easiest and most fun class I have ever taken at LMU.
Very intelligent Prof, do not sugar coat stuff and actually encourage students to think outside of the box.Very hard tests though, make sure you study hella before tests.
One of the best professors I've had at LMU. She truly cares about her students but still challenges you with honest feedback. Not an easy A, but she makes you think deeper and see the grey areas. Her stories about coming to the U.S. and her work experience are inspiring. 10000% recommend!
One of the best professors I've had at LMU. Participation is the most important in this class, as there are weekly debates that make up most of your grade. Don't think this class is easy; you will need to put in the effort if you want to get an A. Overall, a great professor and idk why some of these reviews are hating. Challenges conventional views
She is an amazing professor and really cares about the course material. She wants you to think critically and look at both sides of any story. I highly recommend her class.
She's really nice, she cares about her students success. Participation matters!!! Don't take that for grated!! She has some really good insights about the world. I would take her again because I learned a lot!
One of the best professors I've had. She genuinely cares about her students, and her teaching is valuable (very interesting, engaging topics)! PARTICIPATION MATTERS. If you want an easier class, this won't be the one for you, but if you actually want to learn, it's 100% worth it.
Dr. Dai is a love-or-hate professor. Her main point of the class is to think more than anything. If you want an easy A, consider taking any other professor because she makes you earn it. There are 10 debates, and they are intense and divisive topics. Requires 5+ hours of research per debate. If you don't want to do it, don't take the class.
This professor is an instructor whose course touches upon a wide range of alternative perspectives. She is definitely disrupting the kabal academic world order. I appreciated how she compelled me to evaluate information and sources. Students should defend in debate the principles of climate change, diversity, vaccines, & others to maintain Order.
This course is unconventional but very informative. The government need to be aware of what this professor is teaching because she often refers to them in lectures. She teaches about the great globalist agenda but not in a way that favors it, unfortunately. Otherwise the class is okay, even if you dislike with her stance on socio-economics.
This class was the most interactive, interesting, and engaging class I've had at LMU. Dr. Dai brings a unique energy and perspective to every session, utilizing debates and conspiracy theories to analyze international business in a much broader concept. You will need to put the work in but the reward will be greater than the sacrifice.
Professor Li Dai is brilliant and everything she says adds real value. She pushes you to think outside the box and challenges you every class. It's fascinating but very hard. Debates take hours of research, preparation, and deep critical thinking. Such an amazing class that really makes you think but if you want an easy A, don't take her class.
don't take this class if you don't want to put in the effort. great professor though.
this class takes effort, don't take it if you're just looking for an easy course. Harder than you think.
don't take this class if you don't want to put in the work. Great professor though!
You need to put in the work, don't take it if you're looking for an easy class.
Dr. Dai is such an amazing professor. I didn't know what to expect coming into this class, but it was very fun and interesting. This is one of the classes that I truly felt challenged in, and at the end of every class I learned something new or went home to do research on a topic mentioned in class. Definitely do all the research!
If you wanna learn about International Business and you like researching, you should take this class its fun but not easy.
Don't take this class if you want an easy alA this is a very demanding but also very engaging class
Dr. Dai is an excellent professor. As someone hesitant to speak up, I appreciated how she pushes students out of their comfort zones. Participation is a big part of the grade, but she gives plenty opportunities to earn points. I really learned how to do thorough research on current events. Highly recommend if you're willing to put in the effort.
Professor Dai is an amazing professor, and if you take her class you will learn some interesting real world issues. The debates sound nerve racking at first but they are actually interesting debate topics so don't worry on that. The test aren't that bad either there is one midterm, one final exam, and one final group project.
