She's very interesting and cares about your success in her class. She offers many extra credit options and uses real pictures she took on her adventures around the country to assist her explanation during lecture. There will be a lot of reading to do out of the textbook so TAKE NOTES from both lecture and the text book.

Dr. Boop is an amazing professor. She made geology fun and interesting. She puts in so much effort into making sure the students enjoy what they are learning. She has a very good sense of humor. The tests are tough, but if you study, study, study then you'll pass. Start studying in advance. Also, take good notes in lecture and when you read.

Amazing professor! Very tough grader but makes geology super interesting and fun. She's also really funny and throws in a lot of geology jokes. Nice professor. If you need help in the course, ask and she will take time out to help you. Fairly easy to earn an A if you put in the work. You read one chapter before each class and have reading quiz, but She said she might get rid of textbook for future students and replace with videos. She was hilarious and full of energy. She gives a lot of extra credit! I would recommend her if you need a science class. The Lab Practicals are worth a lot, so make sure to STUDY for those.

I enjoyed Dr Boops class as she made the class interesting. The labs were funny to work with you groups. Multiple extra credit opportunities. The tests can become difficult if you dont study. Just focus pay attention and you'll be alright.

Professor Boop was an awesome online professor. She laid everything out in an orderly fashion. There was a required group project but she grades individually. Tests were hard because you have to take detailed notes on the textbook. She does a lot of interactive activities that take time so just set time aside for her class and you should get an A.

She has a flipped classroom which means she does not lecture in class. She posts lecture videos of her on BB and you are supposed to watch them before class and take notes. She also does cafeteria-style grading points which makes it more flexible to get zeros on some assignments and still pass with an A. Caring and motivating professor!

Boop was a great professor. Not saying you won't have to work for your grade because YOU WILL. She is highly motivating, she wants her students to have a fair well understanding of the subject she's going over. At many times i felt unmotivated and like I was slacking, but she pushed me through the semester. Easy A, if you try!

I took her 8-week online class and it was very fast paced and consisted of two chapters (2 QZS, an activity, and an exam for ONE chapter) due every Tuesday and Friday morning. Also, there was two group projects for this class due. For this class, you need to be on top of things and need to put in work to earn your grade. Very caring professors.

Class is pretty straight forward. She lines up everything that is due that week and makes everything clear and simple. Due date each week is Wednesday morning which I liked a lot.

Dr. Boop uses the flip classroom-style meaning learning at home and practice on campus. You bring your notes to class and you can use them for the activities she has planned from the modules. She uses cafeteria-style grading. Her lecture exams are based on comprehension. It's a lot of work but shes truly cares about her students.

I took her online class. It was pretty straight forward she had everything laid out on the blackboard with videos of examples on the instructions to access everything in her blackboard class. She is always responding to your emails and she even has a group chat that you can use to chat with her or the class when you have questions.

I took this class online, thinking its going to be so difficult because its an online science class but it wasn't at all. The professor was always welcoming and helpful to all my questions and allowed us to have extra credit. The work is very organized and isn't hard if you read! Overall I would definitely consider taking one of her classes again

This class to me was challenging but in a good way. This class is definitely not a class if you want an easy A. I know I didn't but Dr. Boop is a professor who not only teaches but motivates. The course does have some difficulty but, as long as you put in the work, you'll have no trouble at all. She is always communicating with the class and is more than happy to help. Honestly the best class I have ever taken at San Jac. She lets you know what you need in order to pass with an A and it was so easy. Just make sure to watch the lecture videos before class because youll participate in groups and the little points MATTER, theres a quiz before each class meet and it isnt optional but in order to get an A, it helps

Take Dr. Boop! I promise you will not regret it. I took her for a 5 week summer course and would do it all over again. I have taken a lot of online courses and she is by far the absolute best. Everything is organized to perfection, videos she made to correspond to individual things, available to help you and passionate about it.

Dr. Boop has all the assignments laid out so you can get ahead if you wanted to. She has a groupme and replies pretty quickly if you had any questions. Some things were hard to navigate in the beginning, but you get the hang of it pretty fast! I'd suggest not procrastinating in this class though because it could get tedious. Overall, it was easy!

She is a great professor! She is definitely organized and always responds to anyones needs within the same day. The course was a bit tough but if you dedicate the time and effort you can pass the class! I took a 13 week course and it was a good amount of work. I recommend to take her class!

Absolute favorite prof ever. Kind, helpful, fair grading (as long as you work for it) and deadlines, clear grading criteria, makes things easy and fun. Adjusted things for online class and made it easy to complete the hands-on units and still understand what was being taught. Does give quite a bit of work but gives plenty of time to complete.

I took the online version of her Geology class along with the lab. It was one of my better online experiences. Everything was consistent , well organized and easy to keep up with. Labs were long, but having those meetings was extremely helpful. She was very hands on and made a point to be available if we had questions.

Professor Boop is a great teacher even though the course is hard. I personally had a bit of a hard time because of the summer course pace, but the professor is always there to help you when you ask for help and explaining the work to you.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU PLAN ON TAKING ANY MORE THAN 1 OTHER CLASS OR WORKING!! The average of 3 chapters, 16-18 assignments, and 2 labs per WEEK was BRUTAL!

I highly recommend this professor! She is super nice and easy to reach out to if you're struggling. She is very passionate about her class and makes it tons of fun! The book is a lot of reading and you have a fair amount of work but so long as you keep a weekly schedule its very easy to stay on top.

This was one of my favorite classes. As other reviewers have said, there's a lot of work for the class, but it's all helpful for learning, not just busywork - and it's all very well-organized. Prof. Boop is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about geology, and always available for questions. She was really able to share her joy in the subject.

It was the most difficult class I've had but in the best way. Not only was the content amazing, but Dr. Boop is so great! Very passionate about her subject and wants to help you if you try! It is very content-heavy and will take a lot of your time, but the information is worth it! Definitely don't recommend it if you're a lazy student!

8 weeks of class is NO joke, you dive in, if not due dates will eat you alive. Professor gives you so many materials to help you with your assignments, book and chapter PowerPoint were my best friend. She is not easy on grading and she does not extend due dates nor does she allow you to email her assignments. Good luck all!

READ THIS! If you are not a science major, do not take geology! This class is designed for science majors. If you are looking for a science credit I would recommend something else. This class is very demanding but structured well and labs can be lengthy during class. Dr. Boop is a great professor and she is very accessible if you need help.

Ms.Boop is very caring for her students and answers emails quickly. She makes lots of jokes in class which helps me stay awake and teaches very well. I took the class hybrid (online/in person) but I'd recommend to take it 100% in person. I think non science majors should not take this class and take a science class that is geared to them instead.

This class is VERY demanding, especially when it gets down to the midterm, finals or any of the exams. Her lectures are very clear, she is friendly (and a little nerdy), she is always willing to help and is willing to do whatever to make sure you understand. If you can, absolutely take this class in person, it can be hard teaching yourself online.

Heavy workload. You can Zoom in during conference hours. She replies to emails quickly. If taking 3 courses or a non-traditional student or just passing through to get where you need to be, I don't recommend it. Felt like a Science Major course. But, if you love Geology/Science, you'll enjoy it, just stay on top of things and you'll be okay.

This is and 8 week course, so that means 16 weeks condensed! If you are enrolled in other classes I would reconsider taking this shortened course. The professor is great, but the workload is no joke.

If you would like to reap the full benefits of the course, I would not recommend taking this condensed 8-week course. Though interesting, this course is extremely tedious, requiring many exams, daily assignments, and lab assignments due each week. The professor is excellent. It's obvious she cares about her students and wants you to succeed.

Professor Boop was an awesome professor. I took the 8-week course, be prepared for a lot of reading if you do the same, but the pace was good. She made her expectations on assignments very clear and was so easy to get in contact with if you had questions. Her class was the first class I've taken since being out of school for a while and I loved it!

The amount of work expected for this non-science class is ridiculous! 30 assignments a week. You do not have access to study from the quizzes or tests, The flashcards & book definitions do not match. No study guides for midterm or final (proctored) Professor Boop does reply to emails, does not drop any grades, and does offer extra credit.

Yes, this class has an extremely heavy workload, so if you can't sit down for a few hours a day/week, then don't take it. Other than that, Professor Boop is extremely kind and helpful. She wants you to succeed and do well in the class. As long as you are diligent, then this class is an easy A.

This class was not hard, there was a decent amount of work but not too much. It was about 2 chapters a week, followed by a quick quiz and activity, sometimes a geotour, and a test for each chapter. As long as your time management is good this class is a breeze, even with other courses. Very communicative and caring prof as long as you do the same.
