She is not good at teaching physics. You will have to learn the majority of the subject by reading the text and by using the discussion board for online homework. She is not a very approachable professor and often seems to be temperamental. Although she mentions that she is willing to help you, it sure doesn't seem that way when you talk to her.

Let me start off by saying I got an A in her PHYS 121 class. She is a below average professor and probably the worst one I've had at UMBC. She is unclear and akward. She regularly asks a 300 seated lecture questions expecting a response. She often pauses and asks (in a 300 seated lecture hall) why someone is talking. Thankfully I studied hard.

Dr. Cui is one of the loveliest people I have met at UMBC. She is brilliant and enthusiastic, and will do as much as she can to help you. I enjoyed both 121H and 122. I don't know why she has a bad rating, she's such an awesome prof. Her BB is so organized, lectures are interesting and quizzes are all based on the hw and lectures (expect the same type of Qs). Recorded lectures, slides posted after but clicker questions used for attendance. Quizzes are open-note, cheat sheet can be used on final and "midterm".

Dr. Lili is a great professor! She has a strong accent, but she's really easy to understand nonetheless. She's super nice and gives great lectures. She really wants students to succeed and gives you TONS of opportunities to get extra points, every reading quiz and homework gives you 3 attempts so you can learn from your mistakes. She's wonderful!

Dr. Lili is very nice and gives you many opportunities every week for help sessions. It's honestly a LOT of homework though, due 3 times a week. The labs get a bit annoying too. Uses clickers, only grades for participation though. Midterm and final, and you have to do well on each Friday quiz in order to pass the class.

Not a hard class if you're willing to put effort. Dr.Lili is very helpful and she has 2-3 office hours per week to help so please take that opportunity. Definitely a lot of hw but they're very helpful to study for the weekly quizzes. Seriously, her quizzes are very straightforward. Amazing and funny professor!!

As a professor she is not the best, if you could take someone else do it. She speaks in a condescending tone when you ask questions or need clarification. She does not respond to emails so you would need to find her. The class itself is easy but having her as the lecturer makes it harder than it needs to be, YouTube will be your friend.
