She is a great Professor! She takes longer than any of the other professors on chapters to make sure her students get the material. Just like any science or math class, it is important to go every day. I feel I could have done well had I not missed due to medical reasons, causing me to withdraw. I would take her again though for this course.

She has no problem staying after class to answer any questions you have. She does have excellent power points, that outline the chapter, she also posts them online for you to review them. Attendance is extra credit but a must attend to pass the class. Textbook has specific questions on the exams that arent specifically mentioned in class. ShesGreat

Lilia is soooo great! I absolutely loved her class. Chemistry is not an easy subject but she tries her hardest to be as clear as possible. There are a lot of assignments, but they are necessary to learn the material. Read the textbook, go to class and do the assignments and you will pass.

She has about 5 or 6 tests (50% of grade), and about half of them are take-home tests, plus the final (25% in the testing center). She also gives relatively easy assignments online (25%). She isn't the most clear teacher but she is still really great.

I took her class spring semester 2016. You read, study, do the HW, take the exam. There were no group assignments, nor presentations. Attendance is optional. All questions on the exams are straight from the textbook. English is her second language but she is very easy to understand. Must put in the work to succeed. She is firm but kind and helpful.

I love Lilia! She has high expectations but they are made very clear from the start. Do what is required and you will succeed. The course and material is pretty difficult. All tests are done through mastering chemistry so your tested on your ability to apply and understand concepts. A very challenging course but Lilia is great and wants her students to succeed. Spend time in the chem lab getting that extra help and you'll do fine.

Lilia White is great teacher, although all her tests are at the Testing Center. Make sure you set aside time for those tests in advance. She is one of the few amazing Chem teachers that is actually good at chemistry and teaching! However, this is Gen Chem and your grade will largely depend on how much studying you do outside of class and if you attend lecture regularly.

I'd recommend her to anyone. I enjoyed her class very much. She lets you use a 3x5 note card on all her big tests which reduces the majority of the fear when taking those. She does let you take a notecard to use on all the tests, but you can't take it on the final, so you do need to make sure you've understood the material to a decent extent.

Lilia inspired me to work hard and fall in love with Chem. The first test I thought I was prepared for, but after getting 78% I realized I needed to change my study habits in order to get an A. If you want to get an A(which is totally possible), you have to READ the chapter, do the practice tests, review her slides, go to TA sessions & GO to class!

I took Professor White for CHEM 1010 and CHEM 1215, and I've had a great experience in both. She has a clear grading criteria, if you do everything she says you will succeed. For CHEM 1215, if you include everything she says to include in your lab notebook, I guarantee you will do well in the class.

Dr. Lilia White was one of the most outstanding professors I have had. This lab class was very straight forward and had lots of fun experiments to work through. She is SO helpful in guiding her students toward their success. The only downside is you can't miss. 2 missed labs and its an automatic fail. If you show up and work you will get an A.

Professor White was a great teacher. She is very organized and is very clear on what you are to do for both the labs and the pre-lab quizzes and exercises. She is a very sweet lady who really cares about her student's and their success in her class. She is very strict about deadlines. I only gave this a 4 difficulty because it was a 1st block class

You can't learn by just going to lectures (though they're super helpful to review) and you get EC for showing up. Don't slack on reading certain chapters. It can be easy to get behind this way, but Lilia is always there to help you! You are guaranteed an A if you do all the homework and practice. I thought I sucked at chemistry before this class!

Professor White is fun, engaging, and enthusiastic. She has very clear and realistic expectations, just note that she does't make exceptions for anyone and strict about deadlines. She has a Bulgarian accent which makes the lectures interesting to listen to and easy to stay engaged in (plus it makes her jokes funnier). I would definitely recommend!

Very clear in her expectations of her students. Very heavy on homework. You have to write out the whole lab in the lab notebook before class and do the quiz. The most difficult thing was that the lecture didn't line up with the lab so you may end up teaching yourself most of the time. The professor still assists in helping you understand.

This is a great big class (100+ students), and it was very good. It's great to get an intro to Chemistry, and Professor White is a great teacher. She has presentations for every class. There are a lot of assignments, but they are all online and pretty easy. Plus, you can redo them 10 times. The book is the easiest textbook I've ever read too.

Chemistry is hard, she's good. The tests are easy just read the book- I wouldn't rely too heavily on the slides. The Final is ridiculously easy. She gives you notecards for all the tests (including the final) you have to go to class in order to get one. She can be really condescending with questions. Test heavy. Extra credit is available.

She has so much energy. She is very clear about her expectations of students. She is very motivating. Her exams require study and practice to get good grades. Sometimes the questions can be tricky. She has review days before every exam that is open the whole hour for questions which was a lifesaver! She offers a little extra credit.

Professor White cares about her students more than any other Professor I have ever had. She is Bulgarian but I didn't think that her accent was hard to understand. There are loads of extra credit opportunities and if she is very accommodating if you ask in advance. The tests can be difficult but she allows a note card, it's not hard if you use it.

Was a great teacher for Chem 1010 class. Is extremely supportive to answer your questions and help you when you need help. Offers extra credit and will be added at the end of the semester, so be sure to do it! Assignments are straightforward. Be sure to attend the lecture and write down what is said, the slides will be posted.

By far the best professor at UVU. Professor White knows that chemistry is a challenging subject which is why she encourages questions, and explains topics thoroughly. She cares about her students and gives a clear view of what is excepted of you in order to succeed in the course. She also always a notecard on all of the tests including the final.

Pro. White is an incredible teacher. Sshe really cares about her students and their success in class. She is from Bulgaria and has a pretty strong accent. If chemistry is a class you struggle with and have a hard time understanding accents, it could be very challenging. I have never struggled with chemistry or accents and was able to get a B easily

Lilia White is a wonderful professor and I really enjoyed her course. I took summer Chem 1010 and it was easy if you did the work. This course was 16 weeks condensed to 8. It was easy to keep up with this course if you read the chapters and made flashcards. This course was literally easy if you actually try and understand the material.

Prof. White is motivated and really does care about her students. One of the best- hands down! Chem can be tough, but she gives you lots of extra credit opportunities. As long as you prepare before classes and study to understand the concepts instead of only memorization you'll totally pass. Very accessible and loves to be there for her students.

Lab was a really fun class and I learned a lot. There is a lot of outside work to do, although it isn't hard, just time consuming. If you put in the extra hour or two a week you will do great. Writing everything down in the lab notebook is key and will help you pass the final. She is a great teacher and you can tell she loves chemistry.

Lilia is a phenomenal professor! Course lined-up well with Heider's lecture content. (Not always the case). A *detailed* lab notebook, preparedness, and sincere effort will take you far. For every lab, you have to fill out a lab notebook, complete a pre-lab quiz, and write a lab report. The aide grades this and was a pretty tough grader but was willing to offer help. You can use the lab notebook on the final so take good notes on what Lilia shows on the board throughout the course. Lilia is a good and fun instructor.

If you want to have a solid understanding of chemistry, go with Professor White. She seems intense at first but she really cares about her students. If you do your best to follow the rubrics for the lab notebook & report, ask questions when you don't understand something, & write her whiteboard notes in your notebook, you'll get an A in the lab.

I was in Professor White's livestream class. It is very important that you attend and participate in the lectures to understand the material. But she explains everything very well and is always available to answer questions. She is very funny and class was enjoyable. It could be difficult at times but I got an A with minimal trouble :)

I enjoyed Professor White's sense of humor and concern for her students. She went through a slideshow every day of class and often reminded us to read the textbook. Her slides covered everything in the textbook, though. She was always willing to answer questions but only if they were very specific--she wouldn't review concepts. Extra credit helped.

Amazing professor. Would take any class from her in a heartbeat. Genuinely wants students to succeed. Lab is going to be hard no matter who you take it from but she made it easier. She always gave clarification for each lab. I have friends in other labs who got bad grades because their instructor didn't clarify changes from the original procedure.

Great professor, but make sure you put in the work. Don't expect to skip assignments and still get a good grade. Grades fairly and is understanding, but you need to get assignments in on time.

UVU's chem department creates all the assignments, not the professor. So sometimes the grading criteria was a little unclear, but Prof. White did an excellent job at answering all questions, even if I sent her message at 10pm. She always responded quickly. She genuinely cares about her students and their success and has a great sense of humor.

Don't get me wrong, this was a tough class, but I wouldn't take CHEM1215 from anybody else! Professor White is an excellent lab instructor and does a very good job helping students navigate the rigors of chemistry. If you are going to take this class, take it from Lilia.

Prof. White does a good job teaching chemistry. In her class, you'll learn what you need to know for the tests and can get your questions answered. She is pretty heavy on platitudes about student success/working hard/etc, but if you don't mind that then definitely take her class. Her extra credit assignments give a nice grade boost at the end too.

She offers personalized feedback & encouragement. She gave us tips on how to be successful in the lab before each experiment. Wonderful instructor.

I really liked her as a professor. However, I do think she was a bit too tough on grading. I got a 4.0 this semester, with the exception of this chem class and I took classes that are supposed to be way harder than chem 1010. She was always prepared and really cares for her students though.

Chemistry has math, I would recommend you should at least taking a math 1050 course or equivalent before taking this class if you struggle in math. Read the material for each chapter to understand and ask questions. Use an index card with notes, if available, for tests.

Lilia was great at giving feedback, but this class is horrible. If you don't have to take Chem lab, I would advise you to not take it. This was the hardest class I have taken, and every assignment was graded so harshly, no one ever got 100% on any assignment. She isn't the best communicator, and I promise you will be confused the whole semester.
