Not only will you have book homework, but she also gives handouts, of which the material isn't covered in the PBCC book. Plan to spend A LOT OF TIME the tutoring lab or researching the answers in other physics books or on the Internet! Don't try to take MAC2312 with this course!
thought she was an awesome teacher learned alot ofabout astronomy be prepared to study though
You have to take this professor, she is so great! She cares about her "people" more than any other professor. If you just study the assignments, you'll ace the class. Homework is not required, but does help understand info.
Very fun teacher. Always in a good mood. If you just study her assignments you should do good in her tests. Very easy! make notes and all the answers to the assignments are in the notes!
I'm not going to lie this was an extremely hard class.. You must complete all the assignments given and study all her review sheets.. Remember her tests are strictly on her review sheets so you basically don't need the book.. I learned that towards the end of the semi.. Great Teacher!!
Very helpful professor! You should definitely study her notes and the problems that are done in class and you should be fine. Homework helps to understand the material but her tests are primarily based on her notes.
Very good professor! Took her over summer and was still able to keep up with the material and not have to do a lot of work. Tests come from the notes and examples in class. I only did the hw for the problems that I wasn't sure about! Got an A
she goes on and on about things of absoutely no relevance to the test or book. all related to stars but not on the test or in the book. She expects you to go out and look star almost daily and record a journal.
Ms. Jordan is fun, and makes a difficult subject very easy to understand. She is concerned that her students do well, and goes the extra mile so that you can get a good grade - because you really have learned. Her assignment sheets are pure gold, and if you study them you will ace her tests. Great professor!
Professor Jordan makes Physics a breeze. You have to be a complete idiot not to pass her class. She's very sweet and very helpful. The tests are very easy, if you do your homework and put a little bit of effort. I live in Boynton, but going as far as Palm Beach just to take her class was more than worth it!
Ms. Jordan is one of the best teachers in Palm Beach Gardens. She's very organized and explain the subject accurately. Failing her class is impossible. You can study the notes online, get some extra credits when you do your entire homework, get some credits for the assignments. The asssignments and the tests are pretty similar.
Professor Jordan is one of the best science teachers I have ever had. I knew from the beginning that I would like her teaching technique and the class. She is very nice and helpful, and explains everything extremely well. She made the class interesting with ther teaching techniques. This class was easy, the tests were easy if you studied well.
Very nice professor. She gets very excited over the subject she's teaching so expect lots of enthusiasm. She likes participation in class. All you do is a little homework some tests and you pass easy. The only negative thing is that some tests she assigns group work as part of it and then you're stuck with possible morons and she makes you sky watc
She is a great professor, she really knows her stuff. Exams are very similar to the assignments. Nothing too crazy, study and you will get a good grade.
Good Professor. She tries to keep it interesting. Very nice. Plenty of opportunity to do well!
I would recommend having a good physics background before attempting physics w/ calculus. Tests cover a full 5 chapters of information, which makes it a little overwhelming. The class would be much better if she tested on no more than 3 chapters at a time. Homework problems usually take quite a while to understand since the book is indirect.
Very friendly and nice, not a difficult class by any means. Just read over the test reviews as they are the exact same questions as on the tests. She is very into astronomy.

What struck me about Professor Jordan is that she is extremely brilliant and she is just so charming! The class is not a cakewalk. One must work. They say practice makes perfect. This is true in everything one does, but in physics you simply won't get by if a student does not take notes or study. Prof. Jordan made it fun; I had A for phy2048! (Hot)
Great teacher!! Gives you the advantages that you will have when your done with school such as a note card or formula card. Gives home work that is more or less the test questions if you do it and learn it no way you can fail.
The best physics professor at PBCC. Take her even if you have to travel.
LOVE HER!!! She does not try to fail you and wants you to reach your maximum potential. She is very passionate about physics and uses a lot of real-life examples to illustrate problems. Took this class online, there is a lot of studying involved since it is physics. I recommend Jordan all the way!!! Textbook is needed and helpful.
Worst teacher I've ever had. I have my Bachelors, and went back to take this class, and she is awful! ONLY C I ever got in College. She makes no sense at all and never goes over any of the things you will be tested on. Gives you study guide which you have to teach yourself, because she never taught you how. DO NOT TAKE if you want to get an A.
Shes a good teacher, I took her for Descriptive Astronomy. Very nice and will answer any questions you have. Interesting videos with her power points too. She showed us some physics and how they apply to our subject (don't worry you dont need to know them for the tests) very little homework and her tests aren't hard at all
Her class has a hefty workload to cover and learn, but she is very lenient and flexible with the time scheduling in homework and tests. Her warm personality and smile makes lectures bearable, straining but not boring. She goes through example problems for the class to solve and voluntarily share answers. You will not feel stupid asking questions.
Took her for Gen Physics 1 & 2, enjoyed her very much! She is the best professor at PBSC! She cares about her students and wants them all to succeed. Her powerpoint notes are very organized and she gives lots of ex. to help you understand. She uses webassign for hw quizes and gives practice tests very similar to the tests. Got an A in both courses.
There is no professor better than Jordan. I'm harsh when it comes to rate, but she has no flaw. Kill for a chair in her class if you can.
I enjoyed Professor Jordan's class because she tried to make it fun. The difficulty I had in her class was a result of my learning style and her teaching style not matching up. I will tell you this, Physics is not an easy class. From what I understand everyone in the class did very well, myself included. Given the choice, I would not take her again
just do the test review like 4 times and attend the SI session. this is the best advice. she is very sweet but her lectures are all just proofs!!! they are not very helpful when it comes to the tests. they are tough!! again, DO REVIEWS.
Great teacher. Make sure you complete her test reviews as her tests are almost identical. She supplies power points of her lectures, so print those out prior to attending class so you can follow along...also helps you stay awake. Sometimes it gets a little boring. Homework is online and easy, her quizzes are conceptual and easy.
Hi Professor Jordan : )
wow there's so many nice things to say about this professor. Nicest person you will ever meet. 2nd time taking phy2053 and didn't realize how easy it was, and how a great professor can impact your grade. easy lectures, well explained. very patient, and caring
She is by far one of the best educator's I have ever encountered in my college career.
I TOOK HER FOR BOTH PHYSIC 1&2, LET ME TELL YOU, A BETTER PROFESSOR AND HUMAN BEING IS DIFFICULT TO FIND. SHE IS CARING, PATIENT, AND KIND. SHE WILL WALK AN EXTRA MILE TO ENSURE YOU LEARN THE MATERIAL, & HER PASSION FOR THE SUBJECT IS INFECTION. IF YOU TAKE HER CLASS COME WITH THE ATTITUDE TO LEARN & WORK HARD, & I AM PRETTY SURE YOU'll SEE!
This woman... I cannot even begin to describe how great she is. She's simply one of the nicest people I've ever met in academia. Some words to describe her class: engaging, fun, easy. You will fall in love with physics. I sure did. Listen to the other reviews. As long as you dedicate time and effort you will enjoy this class! Do the HW and reviews!
She spends most of the class time explaining material from all different kinds of perspectives. The class always seems to drag on because she will not only go over the material but try to make sure every one in the room has a grasp.
I took her for Physics 1 and 2 last year. There is no better professor at Palm Beach State. Do the practice tests and homework, and participate in class, and you can get an A. She was a fantastic professor.
I like her I really do, but online homework is torture and time consuming more than solving the actual problems. If you have other priorities like paying bills then the homework will make your life a living hell. Some ppl like it and have no problems. She usees WebAssign which is rated barely 2 stars. Hmm I wonder why. Oh bc it sucks!
Learned way more off youtube, lectures are boring and only prepare you for the simplest homework questions. Way over the top in regards to test taking (absolutely no leaving until its done, with assigned seats, and multi-test versions). Be prepared to spend 30% more for this class -WEBASSIGN, or you wont be able to do your hw.
She's seriously one of the best professor I've ever had. Though unfortunately I have to say that her lectures may only prepare you for the easiest questions in some sections, she is a real gem when It comes to explaining concepts, which is what matters the most in physics. Take her while you can!!
Professor Jordan hands down is the best professor at pbsc for physics with calculus. She doesn't make it easy but at the same time doesn't make it extremely hard to pass. In other words the class is durable. If you put in the work and listen during lectures, there should be no problem getting a A. Not to mention, nicest lady ever! She's hilarious!
Amazing teacher. She really cares about all of her students. She takes her time and walks you through each chapter. It's up to you to do the work but she's there to help. I would absolutely recommend her to anybody who is taking physics A+ plus !!!
Professor Jordan is the sweetest lady I've met at Palm Beach State. She really cares about her students & explains concepts in a way you will understand. The work isn't the easiest but it's doable if you put in the effort. Do the test reviews. You'll regret not taking her.
One of the greatest professors I've had in my college career. I don't think it's possible to find a better physics prof than her. She has an immense understanding of the subject and is able to convey concepts in a way that you'll actually understand! She takes her job seriously, and lectures the whole class period, so don't plan on leaving early!
Best Physics professor at Palm Beach State hands down. Very knowledgeable and makes learning physics very easy (the material is hard, but makes it simple). Taking her for physics 2 in the fall!
Prof. Jordan as many have said is a caring individual. She really tries to help her students IN CLASS. Outside of class its very hard to convey your concern to her about the class. I had to drop it because I dont like having exams worth 80% , Homework 10%, and Quizzes 10% of my grade. In addition, exams pilled up on top of one another.
Her exams do not follow her test reviews. This goes with the quizzes nothing that she tells you will be on the quizzes, show up. She grades very tough on exams as well. If your a student that has a STRONG foundation in physics by all means take her. If not, I would advise you to not take her and save yourself the headache and stress.
Her lectures are easy and you may think you understand the chapters but once you do the homework, the test reviews and the test you will not understand a thing, she only teaches the easiest stuff and the the test is 100% hard and has nothing to do with what she teaches in the class.
Professor Jordan is very straightforward in her lectures and on her tests. She emphasizes simplifying these difficult concepts as thoroughly as possible. Tests were mostly homework and in class lecture problems. Will take for physics 2.
Jordan makes it easy to understand. The test questions are exactly like the homework questions, just with numbers changed. Do the pre-lectures for extra credit, and there will be an extra credit question on the test. Do the homework, attend the SI, read the book and you will easily pass.
HER HOMEWORK AND LECTURE ARE SO DIFFERENT FROM THE TESTS IF YOU ARENT GOOD IN MATH TRUST ME THIS CLASS IS NOT FOR YOU !!!!!!! EVEN THEN I LOVED MATH NEVER RECIEVED LESS THAN AN A IN MATH BUT I ENDED UP FAILING THIS CLASS AND NOT UNDERSTANDING ANYTHING STARTING FROM THE LECTURES .
I cant say enough good things about Dr. Jordan. Quizzes come straight from webassjgn. Tests come straight from the HW sheet. No surprises. I love the way she explains things, and she does great practice problems during class. Prefecture extra credit! Its definitely worth doing! Know how to do EVERY hw problem, and you will succeed in her class!
Great professor. She is thorough and willing to break down concepts during class. Office hours are beneficial. Hw on webassign isn't overwhelming. Practice tests are very similar to tests. You will do well on the test if you understand the concepts on practice test not just memorize the questions because she does switch some things up to be tricky.
Professor Jordan was a wonderful teacher. She genuinely cares about her students doing well, and makes every effort to ensure all students understand the material. It's physics, so the material is a little more challenging, but Professor Jordan made everything much easier. 4 Exams, 4 Quizzes, and 10 homework assignments.
My experience with this professor was in more ways than one... awful. I have waited to write a review because of a few different concerns. I have also debated on filing a report with the school itself. She is by far the worst educator this school has to offer. She does not care for you as a student. Nor does she teach concepts well for later course
Professor Jordan is THe BEST PROFESSOR at PBSC. She teaches and cares deeply about her Students. It is a physics class so dont expect an extremely easy class, however, if you do all the hw and pay attention in class you will be fine. She has videos of her lectures and problem solving videosso even if you miss a class you would be able to catch up.
Don't listen to the people who said this class bad/terrible. They are losers. I read the chapter before each lecture, did the cyus after class, did the review for each test, and got a 100 on every exam. Take the class.
If you have to take any physics class. You definitely have to take Professor Jordan. She cares deeply about her students and is very knowledgeable. Her lectures are amazing and she will break everything down for you!
Top 5 Professor from all PBSC Campuses, no doubt. Thorough, caring, gives hw harder than the tests, encourages questions, and prepares you well for the Tests as well as giving you extra credit. If you fail the class it is your fault lol
80 % of her class is the tests and 20% is other things. If you do poorly on even one test you will have an extremely tough time catching back up. Our class average is a D, she blames us for that. She really is a sweet woman and she cares for her students. We assign is horrible.
BEWARE of taking this class with her!!! She may seem sweet and innocent but in reality she doesn't care if you're failing she'll say everyone else is passing so you're not putting in the work. When in reality you're working your butt off just to get a C in this class! I've tried every way possible to pass her class and I ended up withdrawing.
Honestly, just an amazing professor. 100 percent would recommend her. Anyone who has put a bad review, just have not done the work. At the end of the day it is physics so if you think you can just sit in class and pass you should not be in that class(physics is called a filtering class for a reason). Awesome lectures, practice tests are great.
One of the best professor at PBSC. Physics is not an easy subject but professor Jordan does an amazing job explaining difficult subjects. She is very caring. In order to master the subject you do need to practice, as long as you DO THE HOMEWORK, and PRACTICE TEST you are set for an A!
She is awesome, the best physic professor at Palm Beach County. Even though is not an easy class (really hard), she will give you all you need, no tricky tests or quizzes, just study hard and pay attention the class.
Love her. Took her Summer C 2020 during COVID and she did a great job adapting to the circumstances. I was a transient student from UF who thoroughly enjoyed her lectures and informational videos (optional). I can't express how caring of a human she is and how great of a teacher she was. If you are a good student you won't have an issue.
This was the WORST class that I have taken during the COVID-19 pandemic. She did not teach us at all, all she did was upload the lecture videos for each chapter, did the homework on WebAssign. Lots of studying outside of the lecture class. Only grades on 4 quizzes and 4 tests, and she does not drop any grades. DON'T TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. STAY AWAY.
Class is online due to COVID. Didn't teach at all, class was at your own pace with videos on each chapter(which didn't explain how to do the problems and was always filled with mistakes)Quizzes are two attempts but the average, so if you do significantly worse your grade gets hurt. Quizzes and Test don't really go off the HW. Wont drop any grades.
I was a dual-enrollment student who took this class over Fall 2020. Professor Jordan allowed me to go through the class at a pace that fit my schedule, communicate with her and she'll help you! Physics is a difficult subject either virtually or in-person. Professor Jordan is the absolute best and will work with you to ensure your success!
Physics is really difficult to grasp, but she will go out of her way to teach it to you. Yes, she prerecords all of her lectures, but she designates ALL of class time for questions. The people giving her bad ratings are the ones who didn't show up to class time to ask questions. 4 Tests are 76% of your grade and quizzes and hw make up the rest.
Physics... so you NEED to put in work. The professor is very caring and will surpass expectations teaching you. Lectures are pre-recorded, outdated, and hard to follow. Do HW (10 Q & time-consuming) and you should be fine. Study for test using HW/Practice Test and PASS. Don't skip EC. Definitely better in person w/ the lecture. Took in CovidEra.
Just make sure you study a lot use webassign and the book questions and the CYU. The webcam is used for both quizzes and test. You have two attempts for quiz, grade is an average of the two attempts.
I really recommend her. If you do your part, she is going to help you. Don't be afraid of asking questions on the material, she is really cool with it and you will not regret it.I had a really bad physics I professor, which made hate the subject, but when I took physics II with her, she changed all that. she really helped me understand.
Honestly lectures are outdated and dont really help at all. Do the homework, study and memorize how to do the problems. Some of the homework question will be on the test but slightly different. The quizzes are basically questions from your CYU. Put in some work, I barely passed trying to understand everything. Extra credit is max 5pts every test
Professor Lilian is a real gem, she would host zoom meetings like remote classes for online classes. However, the attendence is not mandatory. Try to work out problems in the lecture video without any help other than the formula sheet, and you should be fine. I highly doubt the person post that previous comment paid attention or just browsing.
This professor truly cares about her students and is always available to help you understand hard topics. 75% of the grade is tests, 10% is quizzes, 10% is homework, and 5% is the group project. You can take tests and quizzes two times and she takes the average. Lots of extra credit assignments. Have to study and work hard or you wont pass.
Shes a nice lady & will help, but the material is inherently difficult. Doesnt help that tests make up 75% of your grade & no grades dropped. If you do bad on one test, its nearly impossible to catch back up. Can take 2 times, but score is averaged. 1/2 the class dropped after test 2. HW is LONG, but quizzes are easy if you do CYUs. DO THE XC!
Good person, BAD teacher. Im a 3.9GPA student, never failed a course in my life. Ive passed cal 1,2,&3 with As & Bs. Professor jordans lectures do not help at, the quizes and test are NOT like her material she teaches. Its like taking an exam that you never were prepared for. HORRIBLE TEACHER , AVOID AT ALL COST. You will fail !
Do the HW and practice test over and over again till you dont need to look at notes and you'll pass with an A+. There is 4 tests and 4 quizzes. The tests were very similar to the hw and the practice test. The quiz similar to the CYU's. The material is definitely a lot and may be difficult to comprehend. Study a lot and you will be fine.
This was a tough class, but Prof. Jordan gives you all the tools to succeed. Focus on doing the HW and well on the tests, as that's 88% of your grade. Quizzes and tests are HARD, so study thoroughly. She hosts office hours meetings to help answer any questions. She won't hold your hand, but makes you think about how to correctly solve the problem.
This course is very well organized and every lecture and assignment is consistently helpful. I've had this professor for both Phys 1 and 2; she's very kind and truly gives you everything you need to do well. The material can definitely get difficult at times, but the exams are more than fair and she gives you the best formula sheet I've ever seen.
Professor Jordan is a great professor! She's very helpful and will answer any questions. I took this class as a hybrid class - lectures in person, testing on lockdown browser. Tests are weighted heavily (70%), do the homework, you'll be fine! EC is also offered for each test and you're given a formula sheet to use, so no memorizing formulas!
Awesome professor! She has lecture videos for every chapter and they are so well prepared. She does a great job of explaining things in a way that is understandable. Extra credit opportunities for every test, there are plenty of non-graded assignments to help you study, and you can use the formula sheet for tests and quizzes.
I loved how organized this class was! From the beginning of the semester, I understood everything I had to get done/how many hours to dedicate to this class. The only tiny annoying aspects are how test heavy the class is (it's very doable to ace every single one of them though) and how specific the camera positioning for the tests/quizzes is.
This Professor was a good person but a BAD TEACHER overall. Very Test Heavy and Lecture videos are unclear. If you want to pass this class without getting very stressed throughout the semester, stay away from this professor!
Her formula sheets are horrible and I was told by 3 different tutors that it's the worst formula sheet they have ever seen. You will teach yourself in this class because her exams are nothing like the HW & practice exams. The exams are 10 questions and they are so hard! she wants to see whos smart not based on what you need to work on as a student.
This class requires a lot of dedication such as doing and reviewing all the homework and practice tests. I will highly suggest always reviewing the problems that she uses for lectures. Tests are difficult but if you understand the concept you should be able to pass her class. Make sure to review with other students since that could be a great help.
Took her fall semester, fully online course. I heard a few of my fellow classmates complain about the formula sheet but I didn't see what the issue was. Every formula was valid and I was glad to at least have a formula sheet in the first place. As long as you do all the homework and and review enough you will pass.
Jordan provides many resources to help you get an efficient grade in her class. For instance, she has office hours and extra credit assignments. Overall, you get graded on homework, quizzes, and tests. Test and quizzes are a huge percentage of your grade, so diligently watch the lectures and complete the cyu and self practice questions.
I took (PHY2049) which was completely online and had pre-recorded lectures but I can still say she's a fantastic professor given that I took her for PHY2048. Her lectures are great and she is great at answering questions. Also, her exams are multiple choice so this is the easiest Physics can get. Also, she's really nice!
I am currently taking her becuase I saw that she had great reviewson here, but that's not how she actually is in reality. Class is pretty easy but her teaching style is suitable at all and she does not simplify concepts for students to understand it. If you email her about anything, she will literally not care. No partial credit*****.
You don't have many good options but she's not great. Her exams are basically your entire grade. she gives homework that most of the time has no association with exam. You have to teach yourself everything so if your not good with physics then no. She gives no partial or extra credit. She gives 2 attempts for exam so there's that.
The professor gives pretty good examples in lectures that will be asked on exams. The grades in the class is based mainly on the unit exams. exams can be tricky if not studied thoroughly for. What I recommend that helped me pass every exam with B+ even A+ on her exams was to study the lectures questions given from each chapter & the self practice
She's good and willing to meet with you to help with questions. Nevertheless, the class grade is very test-heavy, and said tests are hard, with only an hour to get it done. If you're going to take her class either enroll prepared to study a lot or just don't enroll at all. 5 max EC pts per test, can be taken twice, quizzes can only be taken once.
She is so disrespectful when it comes to testing at home. No matter how many angles you show her, she still says no, .
Only 3 test worth 75% of your grade, its kinda crazy but at least extra credit was offered even though it barely helped...
The best professor ever!
Professor Jordan is great. The course was 6-weeks fully online course which was a lot of material in a very short amount of time that you have to do on your own. This course is better for a full term semester. She has videos that are very helpful that review concepts and exercises. I'd love to take her in person.
Formula sheet has no purpose whatsoever, never did figure out where the test questions came from. Tests are weighted too heavily and questions are generated in a way that is unfair.
It's really like she finds satisfaction in making this course the most difficult and unrealistic course ever. Assignments and homework are due literally every other day or everyday! Way too many tests, her virtual lectures have a lot of jumpskips when it's time for her to breakdown the solutions?? She's very unreasonable and the work is HARD!
I love Professor Jordan! She's one of the best physics professors at PBSC. I would highly recommend taking a class with her 12/10
Professor Jordan is an amazing woman. She provides a lot of resources in order for you to succeed in her class. Her tests are hard; it takes a lot of studying to master her tests, but overall she's an amazing woman, and definitely visit her office hours; I promise it helps.
Tests are very easy; most of the class gets A's and the rest get F or lower with very little in between. As long as you do the homework, you will understand everything on every test. Only complaint is that there is homework due almost every other day, with half the assignments being useless tedTalk video quizzes that barely pertain to the course.
Her class was very easy to understand! She really did enjoy teaching the coruse and made sure everyone knew what was going on. It is a lot of work to keep up with, just have to keep up with the lecture notes and u are good to. There is a lot of test/ quizzes, but no surprise question, everything that was taught is on the test.
Tough class, but Prof. Jordan provides the tools to excel. Focus on homework and exams, as they're 88% of the grade. Leverage resources like Unstuck ai to prepare - the multiple-choice format makes it doable to ace the tests.
Professor Jordan is an amazing physics professor. I've taken Physics 1 before but didn't fully get it as I do now. She offers great lessons, videos, and examples. Although PHY isn't easy, and you have to put a lot of time into it, she manages to make it enjoyable.
Amazing teacher with a great heart i definitely recommend her if you wanna learn and understand physics she's really good at what she does.
Prof. Jordan is an amazing lecturer. I never felt lost in her class. She goes through everything step-by-step in a way that is easy to digest. I was nervous at first, but found that I really enjoyed it! There's a good balance of homework that isn't unnecessarily time-consuming (just enough to practice and understand). Tests reflect HW. Take her!
God bless this woman
