She's a very nice lady. Tries her hardest. Test are sometimes not from lectures. Very fair and very passable

Even though her class is boring,I learn a lot from her. Unlike other Physic Professors,she explains concepts slowly;that allows students time to think. Just like all Physic class,you should read textbook before coming to class. You will do well in her class if you do homework and study her quizzes and lectures carefully. I highly recommend her!!

Notes are all on Power Point. She gives you plenty of time to write them down. She is willing to and always answers students questionsd ruing lectures.She is funny and has a good sense of humore. EX on each quiz. Drops lowest two quizzes. 10 group activities-drops lowest. Her accent is very mild and does not inhibitate understanding or note taking.

Amazing teacher! She really knows her subject. People only think she's boring because they can't be bothered to use their brains, but if you actually care about learning she is definitely the choice to make. Her lectures are easily understood and she makes complicated physics laws clear.

Took her for both astronomy and the lab, highly recommend. Good teacher goes out of her way to help the students. Earned a B+ on my lab grade but she bumped it up to an A. A lot of extra credit opportunities. If your going to take ESC 116 take Barabas.

Pretty easy class. she gives tons of extra credits to boost up your grade. You do need to study for the tests though. Most of the quiz questions are in the back of the chapter. Recommend taking her.

It might be just me because I get sciences very easy. I didn't buy the book and passed with an A. For the first half of the class, I had a 104% without the book. I flunked few quizzes and did a little bit of extra credit to end up with a 98% at the end. Her accent is cool and she's really helpful. Take her for a great class.

Nice teacher, but her accent can get to be a bit much at times. I took her for the lab class and it is 80% based on lab reports, so you can miss class but its not a good idea. She does allow you to make it up and turn it in later for a lower grade though.

Liliana is one of the best teachers @ Fullerton. She is very knowledgeable and she is willing to sit and explain things to you. Just be respectful to her when she is talking and take notes. Final was open book and you can use your note cards from previous tests. I recommend her!!!

While it might be a difficult subject for some,this class was by no means hard.Prof. Barabas covers EVERYTHING in class.You DONT need the book,just take good notes(some quizz questions are in the text).Plenty of extra credit available.You can have an index card for every test and there was an open book final!Kinda like a HS class though(slow).

She is a good teacher. She is not hard if you try. She explains concepts well without trying to go over your head (and she can because she knows just about everything in her field). Note: attend all classes because in-class assignments are worth a lot and there are few. Read end of chapter quizzes, cuz these questions often show up on her quizzes

Very nice, and a useful professor. No book, but easy lab reports once a week. Easy A on all lab reports. Tests were difficult, but account for very little of the grade, and lab more than half. You can also supplement with extra credit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Really easy class, nice way to fulfill a science requirement w/ out taking CHEM. She was a decent prof. not spectacular, but not terrible. TONS of extra credit, open book final, notecards allowed on every exam. Not the most engaging professor and lacking a bit of classroom control, but a nice lady.

This class was not that hard. no home work, about 5 tests, about 10 quizes. she gives a bunch of extra credit. you get to use a cheat sheet for the tests. she also gives you a study guide for each test. she uses power piont to give you the notes. she is VERY boring.

Honestly, if you're not a science major and need to meet a requirement, this is the class to take. Ms. Barabas is such an easy and cool teacher. If you make an effort in her class, she'll help you immensely. She can be kind of boring at times, but the class is super easy. Her class is boring. I had it right after lunch and always fell asleep. Tests are pretty easy. She lets you use a notecard with notes for the exams. Quizzes are the questions from the chapter summaries in the book. Easy class. Super boring.

Man if you want an easy science for non majors, this is the one. I loved learning astronomy and how crazy the universe is. I NEVER used the book and passed with a B in lecture class and A in lab. I can see where people say she's boring, but the topic completely outnumbers that. Extreeeemely helpful when you need it and a very nice lady. Take Her!!

There are 4 exams including a cumulative final. 8 quizzes. 8 easy in class activities. You have to work hard to get a good grade. A lot of studying. I never used the book though. Just studied the powerpoints. Barabas is a good teacher and yes lecture can get boring. I recommend her. Anyone who tries and studies can pass this class.

I LOVED Professor Barabas! She was truly great. You can tell that she really loves the subject and enjoys teaching it so much. She will try her best to answer any question, even if it is completely "out there". She is so kind and willing to work with you. Astronomy is a lot to contain but she makes it very easy to handle. Love her! I'll miss her.

She is a nice approachable teacher& cares about her students. Her lectures are a little boring, but she will answer any questions you have. She offers a lot of extra credit opportunities but only accepts 15pts. She allows students to use notecards on the tests, and provides study guides. This class isn't the easiest but if you study you'll be fine

She is really nice and genuinely helpful. Everything is available online which is great. You need to be present to do the activities. Study guides and note cards are extremely helpful on the exams. Just know the material and you'll do fine. Field trip to devils punch bowl is interesting.

Professor Barabas is a genuinely great person and professor. She tries her BEST to clarify any questions if need be. It's a lot of information to take in, but she allows a 3x5 index card on the test and it could be typed. Overall, she's a fantastic teacher and a great cheerful person. I always looked forward going to this class. It's so laid back, all you do is listen to lecture. But the real study area is by READING THE BOOK and comprehending the material. LAB took so long but it was a nice experience. She is always very helpful in answering questions. You can pass the class with an A, easy. The trick is to ask questions and she will teach you the correct way to do the material, and get an A for that assignment. There is a max of 15 its ec. Which helps a lot! I ended with an A, coming off a low B.

Labs typically aren't difficult but take a while. Professor is really easy to work with. One midterm and one final, with a 3x5 card for notes for each. Take this class!

Super nice professor! She offers a number of extra credit and replies to emails in a timely fashion. Make sure to complete all of your online assignments on time, they'll help with quizzes. Also, for anyone who like myself thought this class would mostly be about constellations, it is NOT it's like physics, you've been warned.

She is a good professor but her quizzes are pretty difficult. You are allowed a notecard for each exam but choose your info for it wisely. It's an interesting subject but the classwork is time consuming.

Professor Barabas is a wonderful teacher. She is subtly funny, extremely helpful, and very intelligent. Her honors class is somewhat difficult, but I liked that because it helped me to learn. It was the first class that I have ever read the entire textbook cover to cover. She knows what she is talking about.

Mrs. B is really nice and funny. Do all the extra credits and connect assignments and you are fine. 8 quizzes and 3 exams are hard but you need to read the textbooks and do some examples on Connect. Ended up with a C+, but i really enjoy the field trips. Recommend her for lab and lecture. DO the study guides and read the textbook, and your fine.

She's a great teacher. She goes out of her way with study guides and sometimes lets you use past work to use on the test. its an easy A if you go through the study guide and read. online homework is easy. She's also funny, take astronomy! from what I've heard it beats oceanography.

Mrs Barabas is one of the best teachers. She cares so much and tries really hard to show this. She always laughs at her own jokes and it always made my day. I never read the book. Did bad on the quizzes and aced the exams. I ended up with a B though. If you were actually going to do the reading, it would be an easy A, but senioritis kicked in hard.

I took astronomy lab with her because I too the lecture with her as well. She is very helpful if you ask. There is a mandatory fieldtrip but it's fun! The labs were very much confusing and you work in teams so pick good teammates. Teamwork makes the dream work in this. You will use the notes packet from the bookstore and it's essential to passing.

Overall the class is not hard to pass but if you want an A youll have to study, she lets you use a 3x5 on every test . Offers 20 points of extra credit. 40 Connect questions every chapter. Some class acrtvities and about 8 quizes. She does a really good job of explaining things and uploads powerpoints on MyGateway.

Liliana is a great professor that explains things very well but this is a hard class. You must buy the e-book and read the chapters and do the online homework. Literally one of those skip class you won't pass classes. There's extra credit opportunities which i highly recommend. Study guides are thorough and she allows a 3x5 notecard on tests.

I LOVE her! The class was super interesting! She's super sweet and very knowledgeable of her field. I've never seen her not be able to answer a question that a student asked. There are 3 tests that are kind of difficult but she gives you study guides. Other than that there are only quizzes and in-class activities (you can drop one of each.)

I knew I was in for a wonderful experience from day one. She is kind, helpful, and very passionate about Astronomy. Class consists of 8 quizzes, 1 dropped. 3 Exams. Around 10 super easy in class activities, 1 dropped. The class overall is easily passable with an A or B if you review the study guide and your notes consistently. Offers extra credit.

You're in good hands with Barabas. Shes very sweet & cares about her students, but more importantly, she is very knowledgeable about her subject. Astronomy was not what I expected; it was an in-depth look at stars, planets, the universe, etc... it's not easy, but if you put in the effort, you'll get an A. She lets you use a notecard on tests!!!!

Took Prof. Barabas for Astronomy and it was the best decision I ever made!! She is so sweet and if you want to learn more about the skies above, she's EXACTLY who you need. She cares that you pass and her sense of humor is so adorable. Extra credit opportunities and an optional field trip at the end of the semester to see the Milky Way was awesome!

She's a good professor. 8 quizzes, class activities, 3 exams (50 questions.) The course work isn't too difficult, however, it's just a lot of information to memorize and understand because the subject is so big. I took her lab as well, which is hard if Science isn't your strong suit, but doable with the right lab partners.

Professor Barabas is great. I didn't personally connect with her lecture style, but it was still effective. The content was also very interesting! The powerpoints are online and very helpful. She gives study guides. USE THEM! They, along with the Test Yourself questions in the book, helped me get an A in the class. I ended the class with a 98%.

Her class is really easy and she posts all the powerpoints on canvas so you can take notes prior to lecture, but you dont have to. You can get away without really paying attention too, quizes and test arent difficult. If you can go on a stargazing trip, go its super fun.

Barabas is a kind professor and she's always willing to help her students beyond her classroom lectures. She provides the study guide and notes for quizzes/exams ahead of time. Lots of opportunity for extra credit. Textbook is required because some of the chapter practices Qs are on quizzes. Takes attendance every class. Barabas is a solid prof.

Professor Barabas is a pretty funny (I swear, she makes the class chuckle pretty often) professor. She has a negligible accent (not like those super heavy accented profs where you cant understand anything), but it never undermines her teaching imo. Study for quizzes and exams with classmates and do the extra credit to secure that A. Good class.

The labs are done in groups and can be fun. I don't like science and the class was still doable. Expect some light algebra in a couple of the labs but she explains everything well and is very approachable and willing to help. Take her if you are taking astronomy!

Professor Barabas is almost like a kindergarten teacher because of the atmosphere she applies within the lectures. She's way too nice and humble. Her class is not hard, it only requires you to read a bit an answer questions and quizzes/exams. Her lectures are clear and concise. Overall, She's great, sweet, and very comfortable to talk to.

She was very knowledgeable and had a wonderful class environment even though it was an online class. There was a pretty decent amount of homework every week, but it wasn't hard. Do yourself a favor and take her class!!

Extraordinary professor. Goes above and beyond to make lectures bearable. Though the homework load is immense, there is absolutely no excuse to not do it because it is *astronomically* easy tasks. Every week you are learning something or are tested/quizzed, this helps prepare you. Don't be afraid, she's the best; she's almost like a mom haha.

Took this class online and it was pretty easy. The only downside is you have to pay for McGraw-Hill. Unlimited checks on homework until you've completed the required amount of questions and the questions will change to focus on areas that you struggle with. All the homework answers are on quizlet somewhere. Never read lectures, never read the book

Professor Barabas is a good professor. Her class requires a lot of reading and you have to memorize quite a few things. She does give study guides, but you arent allowed to use them during tests. This class consists of reading assignments, discussions, quizzes/exams. She gives extra credit so that you have an opportunity to improve your grade.

Her lab class differs from her lecture. In her lab you are allowed to bring an index card with any info youd like for the exams, which is very helpful. She provides extra credit in her lab. She is a really nice professor and will help you if you are in need of it. I definitely recommend going to her office hours because she is always there to help

She allows you to bring in an index card the day of the exam-extremely helpful as you have to memorize a few things. If you have a chance, take her class. She offers EC as well.
