She is such an amazing professor! She loves teaching and is always ready to help!!! Do yourself a favor & take her class, you gonna love accounting after taking her class. Attendance is mandatory though. It's an easy A if you put some effort!
She is the most amazing professor I have ever had! You will love her class. Her dedication to her students is unparalleled. She genuinely cares about teaching, and inspires everyone around her to do their best work. Absolutely love her! Everyone should take a class from her. Brilliant lady and wonderful teacher.
GREAT PROFESSOR!!! Take her for Intro Accounting classes, it will help you down the road to know the material well!
final is impossible
Prof Hickman-Riggs is the best there is! She has a dedication to her students and a love for teaching that is unmatched by any other professor I have ever taken. She will go above and beyond fr her students and believes that everyone is a SCHOLAR. As long as you're willing to work for the grade, she will make sure you get to where you want to be.
great prof! she teaches the course really well and is very helpful. The final was difficult but if you study enough and have done well, it will not affect you that much. She really has a love for teaching, and is extremely helpful. Just do the work assigned and come to class and you will do great!
Very good teacher. Cares a lot about her students and is always willing to help. Make sure to participate in class and do board work
Best professor I've had at SMU! She truly cares about her students. She is extremely helpful, take advantage of her office hours. She's great!!
I took her class because of the previous ratings on ratemyprofessors but her class was obnoxiously hard and she thinks she is more helpful than she is. Her final was impossible
The materials are hard, but Liliana use her unique approach to explain well in the class. Even though her test is tough, she want to us to learn and very generous about grading. I enjoyed class a lot. She is highly recommended.
Hands down one of the best professors I have ever had. Amazing quality and cares a lot about her students. She is very smart and is more than happy to share her knowledge with her "scholars". The material is tough, but that is managerial accounting. She makes it a lot easier and teaches a lot of her own methods and tricks to simplify the material!!
She is my favorite professor of all time. I have never had teacher fight so hard for her students to succeed. You are not just a student to her are a SCHOLAR FOR LIFE. She goes out of her way to help you and her teaching tricks and style are crystal clear. Her test can be hard but they literally the same questions from the homework. Take her class
Great cox professor I have ever met in my life. She is very awesome in her teaching style and her class is very understandable. When you have some questions, she is very patient to work with you. Make right choice to take her class and stop by her office as much as possible. Then you definitly can get the grade that you want!!!
Had her for financial and managerial accounting and made an A in both. Hands down, best professor I have had at SMU. She is so helpful and approachable. Get to know her, she is amazing! highly recommended.
Hickman-Rigg's class was one of my favorites of my sophomore year. Attendance is optional, there is sign in but it didn't seem to matter, and all 3 quizzes were online. The tests were moderately difficult and the final was very, very difficult. that being said, I got a 99 on the final (after her 10% curve) and got an A in the class. Do HW and getan A
Liliana is honestly the best Professor I have ever taken at SMU! Definitely take advantage of her study tools on BB and meet with her if you have any questions! She's there to help you out and she is the most genuine and sweetest person I know! You honestly have no reason to not get an A! She is always accessible! Plus, her accent is awesome! :D
Best professor at SMU! I still keep in touch with her! :) Go to her office hours and go prepared with specific questions and she's super helpful! She has lots of tricks to help you know and understand the material!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I AM IN LOVE WITH HER. she is the best accounting teacher. the topic is not easy but she makes it as easy as it can be and has her own way of teaching a lot of topics that makes it so much more simple! She is simply amazing and I would suggest just sitting around and talking to her a few times, shes great!
Extremely helpful and nice professor. Do all the homework problems and you will get an A.
Do all the homework problems and all the sample problems she posts online and you will definitely get an A in class. Extremely helpful if you need it.
Great person. But her class was not helpful at all. It was too easy and went too slow. I've attended for less than 10 times and still got an A and still know nothing about mangerial acct. It did not happen to my other acct classes. She curved too much and gave free points to make everyong get an A. That's great but not helpful.
She leads you to think she is curving the (ridiculously difficult) exams. She'd told me I was doing well &in the end she ended up almost failing me! I was an Acct. major but after taking her class, I changed it. I hate Acct. now because of her! She talks about how helpful she is, but in reality she is not helpful at all! Take a different professor!
Do NOT take! Tests are impossible! Literally hands you a blank packet and expects you to memorize fill in everything. There's stuff on the tests that were never taught. Says she's curving the tests but doesn't in the end. Acts like she cares about you when she couldn't care less. She led me to believe that I had an A and then gave me a D.
Loves her students. Cares more than any professor and really wants you to succeed. The tests and quizzes questions are pretty similar but worded differently than the book questions (which she uses often). Put in the time, go to class, and you'll get an A
Not sure why she has such great reviews. She's a nice lady but the class is extremely hard. Weekly quizzes which you only have 15-20 minutes to do. Almost no one finished the exams in time, they are impossibly long. The homework isn't very helpful.
Anyone with a bad review on her clearly didn't try enough. You literally have to read and show up to get an A. I got 100% and 99% on first two tests. Quizzes are tough sometimes unless you read the chapter and pay attention to the notes she hands out in class. She basically does the work for you, you just have to give a respectable amount of effort
Liliana cares about her students more than any professor I've had my entire life. She's the nicest lady but can be difficult to understand- I taught myself most of the material. Class is not an easy but she tells you exactly what is going to be on the test. Make sure to go to her office! She bumped everyone up a lot at the end of the semester.
One of the most solid professors in Cox. Very straightforward about grading, and understanding of how the material can be difficult for students. Would definitely take her again, and super nice. If you need accounting, take her.
Of all the professors, instructors, coaches, and leaders Liliana Hickman-Riggs was certainly one of the most inspirational. Above all else is her most gracious self. She is a CPA and has a huge office and even though she was busy she dropped everything to help me on my entry level accounting at Richland college. I'm in tears remembering her. :)
LHR is one of the most considerate teachers at SMU. If you go to class and put in some effort she will be very willing to help you get an A. She curves her tests significantly and doesn't want to be the reason you don't get into the business school. Wants all of her students to succeed.
I love this woman. Don't listen to the hate she gets because those people obviously didn't try in her class or even go to her for help. She will go above and beyond for her students because she wants them all to succeed. She is the best professor I ever took at SMU. LHR is the most incredible woman and I will forever be grateful for her.
Hands down the best professor at SMU. LHR cares so much about her job and her students. I was very worried to take accounting, but she made the material very understandable, gave out extra notes, was always available for office hours, and held review sessions before every test. Nothing on the test was a surprise and he's a very fair grader. LOVE
Best teacher in Cox, cannot recommend her enough. Makes sure students really learn the material, but also understands the difficulty and offers tons of chances to boost grade (curves, points back, 30% of grade is from online quizzes and easy project) - her classes are very hard to get into but she is a real gem.
LHR is amazing, you get out of the class what you put into it. The more effort that goes in, the better you do and the more she respects you. I highly recommend sitting up front, going to every class, and asking questions as she is likely to notice, remember you, and help you out later. Those complaining definitely did not put in effort!
Took her class during the summer and absolutely loved it. She genuinely cares about her "scholars" and will do everything she can to help you succeed. Whether she's giving extra credit or tutoring in office hours she has a passion for the subject. She also understands her class is some people's last shot at Cox and tries to help you earn the grade.
Just a gem. LHR has opened so many doors for myself and others, and makes a difficult subject easy and fun. I can't recommend her enough
Probably the best teacher I have had at SMU does everything in her power to help you succeed. If you mess up her class its legitimately your fault. She is amazing and the sweetest lady you will meet, go to office hours if you need help. Do the homework and follow her methods. 10/10 would recommend and would take again.
Greatest professor I have had, genuinely cares about her "scholars" succeeding. I got a B in the class but if you really wanted to you could get an A. I was never that good at accounting but she is very clear whats on the tests!! No homework only problems in class, also gives you a handout for each chapter summarizing it.
Liliana is an angel sent from heaven. She is so sweet and cares so much about her students. She is an excellent teacher and comes up with a lot of useful acronyms to remember information. Homeworks are easy and tests are fair. Every class is a lecture which can get boring. She doesn't teach too fast and makes the more challenging concepts easy.
One of the sweetest profs I've had at SMU who genuinely cares about the success of every single one of her students. Lectures often focus on practice problems as she provides many useful tips that'll make your life much easier. Material can be dense, but doable if you put in the effort. I would absolutely take her again for future classes.
I had LHR for accounting in Fall 2012. It is now 2019, and I am reading her reviews crying because of how amazing she was. One of the best professors I had in my college experience at SMU. You should not only take every class she teaches, but get to know her on a personal level. She cares more than any other teacher I have ever had.
I LOVE HER!!!! I wish everyone at SMU could have her as a professor. She encouraged me to change my major to Accounting and I am so glad she did. Miss having her
Horrible teacher. Glosses over topics while reading straight from the txt book during class, then asks in depth questions about them on the exams. She is very egotistical and believes she is God's gift to the earth. She made herself fake cry right before my class did course evaluations pretending that she was so sad to see us go. Really overrated.
Pretends like she cares about you but its all a facade. She is passive-aggressively rude and so obsessed with herself. Grades the one group projects unreasonably hard. Shes disorganized and posted the final exam date incorrectly on canvas almost causing me to miss the exam. Could not read any comments on my test and was not allowed to see my final.
Horrible. Not at all helpful in office hours. Exams are too long for the time period and she knows it but still does not curve them. Tests Ive material not taught in class but learned from the text book. Practically need to teach yourself the whole accounting course. Would have been so much easier with a competent teacher.
One of the best instructors I've ever had, bar none. If you want to learn it right, she's the person to take. I'd take more classes from her if it were possible.
Governmental accounting is a very dry subject to teach but LHR makes it interesting and engaging. She is one of the most genuine professors at SMU. She cares so much for her students and always willing to help.
Cares about you like your own mother would. Without a doubt the sweetest lady in all of Cox and will give you the best grade she possibly can. Completely ignores the grading system because she loves her students. Personally deserved an F and got an A-.
Love her. The GOAT. Everyone at SMU knows Liliana is the one to take for accounting. Go to class, rework the homework and practice problems and you'll get an A on tests. Curves your grade based on the effort you show her by going to review sessions, turning in the optional hw etc... Need the textbook as she uses it in class and for homework
LHR is a great professor. She goes above and beyond to help the students out and on the whole does a great job at teaching in class. Go to class, its worth it. If you dont get an A in the class its because you didnt listen to her lectures, put in the time or read the book. Just pay attention and always ask qs, shes always there to help.
Hickman-Riggs is an icon, take her if you can. She's very eccentric, but she teaches accounting in a memorable way and is there for her students. I'm taking her again next semester. Don't push assignments off, and actually read the textbook. The hardest thing all semester is the final, so solidify your grade before then.
she's a gem of a person, but class isn't easy. you have to work for your grade. tests are SUPER long and you have to speed through them, final included.
Hickman Riggs is really sweet but her teaching only helps you solve the problems that she writes. If I opened a different Managerial textbook I would have no idea what i'm looking at. Just wish she taught more about concepts and how to apply practices rather than just answering her exam questions.
LHR is an actual angel, but not my favorite ACCT prof. The best way to describe her style is that she teaches ACCT for people who either don't get or like it. That being said, she consistently goes above and beyond to help her students. If you make sure she knows who you are (i.e. office hours), you are basically guaranteed an A.
LHR is the most incredible professor I've ever had!! She cares so much and makes you feel very respected as one of her scholars.
She is a doll. You must watch pre-recorded lectures before attending the Monday class. 1-2 page chapter summary, 10 question multiple-choice quiz, and My Accounting Lab questions due every Friday. If you participate and she knows your name, you will do better, trust me. Exams are HARD but she curves them.
Best teacher I have ever had. I hate accounting but she made it as fun as possible.
LHR is overrated by people who want an easy prof. She is extremely self-centered. She never says she messes up: it is always your fault! I went to her for help and she made me feel stupid... as a 4.0 student. She gives a lot of partial credit, but if you want to learn (i.e. accounting majors) do not take her! It will hinder you down the road
Liliana is a genuinely sweet lady and wants everyone to pass her class. She uploads lectures and notes for every chapter and theres a quiz and summary every Friday (not too tough). Gives more than enough practice problems. She teaches tricks for getting the right answers, but isnt as helpful for conceptualizing. The best option for 2302.
I found some of the lectures to be confusing at times, but most of the time they were easy to understand. Quiz and summary due every Friday which were pretty easy. The tests are pretty tough, she said theres no surprises, but I found some of the questions on the tests to be kind of tricky at times. Overall, pretty easy class.
LOVE LHR. THE BEST. TAKE HER. Dresses up every day. Weekly quiz on Fridays. 4 exams and she prepares you well. The final project she gives everyone an A. Wants all of her students to get an A. Comprehensive quiz at the end to replace lowest quiz score. No formal homework.
Pretty overrated IMO. Felt like the class is based around just learning her tricks and systems rather than actually digesting the information to gain intuition and real understanding. Feel like I got very little from this course walking out. I do respect the effort she and her TAs put into the review videos so people like me can cram, though.
She's a passionate and quirky professor. There's no homework, but there are weekly quizzes. The lecture videos were long and basically a repeat of what was taught in class but very helpful. She gave a lot of partial credit on exams, so an A is very attainable.
Absolutely amazing prof. I took her for Summer session to get my business minor & I learned so much. She made it so easy to learn, and my test average was a 98, truly all you need to do to pass is (IN THIS ORDER) 1. read, 2. watch the video, and 3. attend class. I suggest taking notes for all of them within one document. I did not study at all:)
I love this Professor. The summer course was pretty fast and intense but well worth it. She makes it fun and has jokes or sayings to go with the lessons. Her personality and crazy outfits are awesome. I am so sad I wont get to take her again in the fall. If you have a chance to take LHR do it. As long as you study and practice youll be fine.
Professor has been, by far, the best professor I have had at both of the universities Ive attended (Baylor and SMU). Her teaching methods are uniquely structured and catered to the students ability to understand and comprehend the material. You will be doing yourself a disservice by not taking LHR. I was a student in her 2301 and 2302 class.
Professor Hickman-Riggs is an unbelievable teacher. This was by far my favorite class I have taken at Southern Methodist University. Not only was I able to learn so much about managerial accounting, I learned many life lessons that I will remember forever. SMU is beyond lucky to have a teacher like LHR, I advise every student to take this class.
Great teacher! She is very helpful and if you are falling behind she makes sure you get the attention and help you need. She is the best for accounting. Make sure to attend class, and there is a group project at the end of the class that helps a lot with your grade. She is amazing!
WOW, what a woman! LHR is absolutely the best professor at SMU. She is very straightforward with grading and loves her students. I have never had a prof that cares more about each and every one of their students. She knows everybody wants an and makes it clear that she will not be the professor that ruins your GPA.
Gives lots of examples in class. Very fair when creating test material. It is key to go to her classes as she will teach you how to do the problems if you go, and the tests are extremely similar to her workout examples. Quizzes and tests are hard, but not impossible. Does a good job with simplifying concepts
LHR teaches accounting as simple as possible. As long as you pay attention in class, there is no reason to not get an A. Class is made up of one project, four exams, and weekly quizzes. Beyond that, she truly cares for her students and wants everyone to succeed. Highly recommend everyone to take LHR if you get the chance.
By far the best professor I have ever taken at SMU. I have never met a professor who inspires me as much as she does-she is the reason why I am an accounting major! If you have the chance to take her I would highly recommend her for both financial and managerial accounting. Don't just take the class though-get to know her as well.
Definitely take her. She is the best accounting professor at SMU. She is the reason I got into the business school. She helped me tremendously. If you do all the work and let her know you need an A then she will help you. Im extremely grateful for this professor. Take her class!!!
Makes effective memory tools. Many resources (e.g. book, online videos & notes, in-class "workout"). Weekly open-note quizzes help prevent falling behind. I found exams hard, but she gives partial credit. Ways to help boost grade. Networking with big-name firm. Important to do things like volunteer/Office Hours/talk & ask questions (she remembers!)
LHR is the best professor at SMU. She is hilarious and wears the best outfits. She explains accounting in a way that is easy to understand. I had her for both financial and managerial and I absolutely loved going to class everyday. She is one of the kindest people you will ever meet and will go out of her way to accommodate you. LHR is the best!
LHR is actually the best professor I've ever had. She cares so much about her students and explains the material in such a simplistic way that it feels like basic math sometimes. Obviously, accounting is intimidating at first but she has made it so enjoyable, and her lecture videos are a lifesaver. Definitely take this class!
By far the best decision SMU ever made was hiring Liliana. LHR made the core concepts of accounting less intimidating and explained it in a really good way. Her videos and practice problems are super helpful. LHR genuinely cares about her students succeeding and offers a lot of support to students, both inside and outside of the classroom.
Really cares about her students and is available outside class and even when the class is over. Weekly online quizzes, 2 test and 1 final, the final isn't cummulative.
LHR is a great professor. The combination of watching her online videos with doing practice problems in class really helps with understanding the material and doing well on the exams. There are 4 exams throughout the course (including the final) and a group project. There are ways to get help outside of class and she is a very generous grader!
OK. I am thankful that LHR gave me a 2nd chance this summer after a bad semester of 2301 in another class. She's very sweet and wants to see everyone succeed. It's difficult material to grasp, no matter the professor, but practice is really what gets you to do well. Suggestions: do practice problems & watch the videos before class. 11/10
Everyone told me to take ACCT2301 with Eric Mars while I was registering for classes, but I ended up taking LHR's class! BEST DECISION!! Nobody cares more about their students than LHR does. There can be a lot of homework, but she prepares you for the test. She never leaves you blind sided and tells you exactly what she will be testing you on.
LHR is probably the worst educator I've ever learned from at any point. Maybe it's just me, but her teaching style of inventing a million random acronyms is annoying. For some kids, it clicks, but some have no idea what she is talking about. Don't expect to learn ANYTHING... just hope that you can solve problems her way for the sake of the grade.
Biggest regret. Going to be so unprepared for Intermediate Accounting now. It is a lot of acronyms that are not that applicable. Thought this class was an easy A but you weirdly have to work backward and get on her good side for an A.
LHR's accounting class is okay. She will expect you to watch lecture videos before class and then just do examples in class, although the videos aren't always super helpful. I don't really know if I learned anything, but managerial isn't a direct predecessor to intermediate accounting, so don't stress too much if you feel like the class is all over
Goat. Great teacher despite the difficulty of the subject itself. Recommend
LHR is a queen and the best professor at SMU. I took her last semester when her husband passed away and she still came to class ready to teach. I would highly recommend LHR to anyone taking accounting.
Just completely honestly I'm not always convinced that LHR is speaking English. LHR is clearly a very kind woman, but for someone new to Managerial Accounting I am simply unable to interpret her utterances.
Very nice woman and very accomplished in the accounting industry; however, she is very disorganized and her lectures do not make sense. She is not great with clarifying things if you don't understand. The exams and quizzes were much more detailed than anything that was covered in class
I feel like LHR is overrated. Even though she's a helpful and successful professor, her lectures are not it. If you really want to enjoy and learn about accounting, I wouldn't recommend taking her because she's not good at clarifying things. She kinda makes things complicated and incomprehensible. I learned accounting from YouTube during her class.
Nice does not make her good. I feel bad because I like her personally but she can't teach and that is what she is supposed to be doing. Class time is wasteful, videos do not help, exams do not match examples, while it wont matter if you don't go to intermediate, for some of us it does. She tries to hard to be cutsey when some of us need to learn.
If you do anything while at SMU, take LHR. she is caring, loving, and makes learning a boring subject tangible and interesting. The way she teaches is how EVERYONE should. She makes super complicated accounting subjects into easy and simplified concepts.
I actually believe LHR buys bots on this site to boost her rating, because she is objectively a horrible teacher. Her lectures are impossible to follow, and although you can teach yourself using the textbook, that defeats the whole point of a college class. Please trust me and avoid at all costs.
LHR is an amazing person, but her class is extremely boring. She keeps it alive by making jokes and is very engaging, but taking it TuThu was a mistake. Her exams are exactly like her "workout" and "protests" and have no surprises. You MUST participate in class to succeed.
She used to be a good teacher, apparently, but this past year was horrible. Quizes are no t accessible after you take them so you cant know what you get wrong. Does not prepare you for test. Pretty sure SMU told her that too many people where getting high grades in her class. Take altizer instead.
I did not like her teaching at all. She is a nice lady, but that does not make her a good teacher. I could not understand how her acronyms related to accounting and for people going into the next level accounting class, they are struggling more because of it now. She does not explain concepts well and her tests are much harder than the pretest.
I think LHR might be one of the nicest teachers at SMU. That said, it was difficult for me to sit through her class. The way she expects students to learn concepts is confusing.
LHR has a great personality and tries to be a good teacher, but her teaching style is very odd and hard to follow.
LHR is very passionate about what she does but I haven't learned a single thing from her lectures. I've taught myself everything, you have to figure it out. She also does not explain anything about final projects or why we even had to buy the mylab. She has an attitude but overall probably not the worst choice.
Shes getting too old and her lectures turn into nonsense. The material is not too hard, but you have to teach yourself
just does problems and does not explain in class. Her videos do not make much sense and can not explain concepts. Have to teach yourself all the material and end up using chegg for solutions to the problems because they make more sense than her explanations in class. Take someone else, do not understand how she has such a high rating
Though I did not feel like she always respected me personally, she did give a ton of grace for my final exam score and my final grade. It was undeserving, but I am forever grateful. Also, do not buy the textbook. You do not need it. Regardless, there is a free pdf online. Good luck!
LHR is not the professor that she used to be. You have to teach yourself everything and use her weird acronyms and methods. She will bump your grade up to the next tier (B- to B, etc.) but not at all worth it. Her grading is so arbitrary and not based on performance. She is a nice lady at heart, but is not a good teacher and can be mean at times.
Nice lady and makes time for her or a TA to help but in my opinion, not a great lecturerr. I constantly found myself teaching myself the lesson after she lectured and not being engaged enough during class time. I am generally a good student (all my other grades were A/A- this semester) but I just could not get her method of teaching to stick.
I actually believe LHR she's the worst professor i have ever had and cannot understand her high rating, because she is objectively a horrible teacher. Her lectures are impossible to follow, and although you can teach yourself using online sources, that defeats the whole point paying what we pay for a college class. Avoid at all costs.
Time for her to move onto another profession. Not as nice as she tries to come off either. Be warned.
LHR is one of the worst professors at SMU. She gives no exam preparation whatsoever and uses weird terms and acronyms + her Eastern European accent makes this course so much harder. You have to teach yourself every material and even if you do, I wish you luck. She doesn't give any curves and I do not understand the good reviews that she has gotten.
Professors comittment towards lecture is Amazing!
LHR is the best professor at this school. I had her for both 2301 and 2301. She can come off harsh and strict at first, but its only because she really wants her students to learn and succeed. She likes students that speak up in class and ask questions. Use her office hours and TA's!!!!They want to help.
LHR is such a caring teacher. NEED TO TAKE HER!! She really wants you to succeed. You have to put some work in to understand the content but she is very accessible out of class, and will work to get your grade up if you show her your effort.
LHR's class can be difficult but is also very doable. If you go to her office hours and spend time working on packets and other resources she gives then you can do well. She is sometimes a little unclear in her lectures and it could throw you off but things can be quickly cleared up in office hours. If you put in the work, you can do well.
Not sure why reviews says she is nice.. definitely not. A student in our class because he tried to point out that she had set the timer for our final wrong and she proceeded to give him a rude reply and tell him he was wrong (he wasn't). The note sheet she gives us are hard to understand and unorganized.
Yea she tried to gaslight a student when she set the timer 40 minutes short for the final. Class is easy if you can memorize random acronyms and charts. The exams were always challenging because they were long in a short amount of time, and I don't think i really learned anything, just memorized stuff.
Tries to make managerial easy to understand. Very helpful and caring, stay on her good side and make sure she knows who you are. Do well on the quizzes and group project to help you grade. Tests are similar to the packet she gives you and will curve. Tests are somewhat hard but if you studied you will get a good grade. Do not make her hate you.
LHR is the best. The class will be simple if you put in the work and study far in advance. If you put in the work you will succeed. The problems you do in class are very similar to the test. She is SO kind and looks out for her students with true care.
You learn absolutely nothing. I am regretting that I took her as I am not prepared for Intermediate Accounting. That being said its a very easy A with minimal effort. Just be on her good side.
You will not learn accounting, just her way of solving problems. Easy class, but got nothing of it.
She is nice but doesn't prepare you for the exams, with a flipped lecture so get ready to put in some time out of class. If you don't already get accounting and feel like you would need help, it's going to be an uphill battle.
You learn nothing as her methods are so outdated it is ridiculous. Then you have to relearn it again but later on.
LHR's class can be challenging, but put in the work and you'll do well. Utilize her office hours and the TAs - they want to help you succeed. unstuck study was a game-changer for exam prep.
I don't get the hype about her. If you aren't part of the 3 people she likes, she is so beyond rude. She's old in her ways and is so hard to work with. Rude to students for fun then cries in class pretending to care about her students. Such a boring class and you learn nothing. She talks in riddles and is so annoying.
It was a privilege to be in LHR's class! She's inspiring, hardworking, and truly cares about her students. Her strictness—partly her German side—is just her push for you to succeed. She believes in you and will do all she can to help you earn an A by semester's end. I just want to bundle her up and treat her to everything she deserves :)))
Just an unnecessarily hard class, not the move. The homework are nothing like the test problems
LHR is an incredible and caring person who genuinely cares. While she is tough, if you put in the effort and treat her as a person, she will respect you and help you out at the end of the semester. The course was rather challenging (probably more than needed), as sometimes there would be curveballs from what she taught compared to the exams.
Entire class is nothing but her rambling. straight 🗑️.
I don't understand the positive reviews. As a straight-A student, this was my only A- despite working the hardest in her class. She often rambles and uses strange metaphors like "teach the dog" or "read the english" instead of actually teaching accounting. I didn't learn anything meaningful. Take Altizer and get an easy A while learning accounting.
Past her prime and doesn't know it. Asks us to nominate her for awards which is sad. And wins them. Even sadder. She's older and out of touch needs to retire.
They read off AI-generated slides like it's the gospel, but if your paragraph is too well-structured, they scream “plagiarism!” Got referred to Honor Council for doing too well. Sorry I try?
This class isn't hard, but her teaching style makes it confusing. She rambles, uses odd analogies, and never explains things clearly. I usually just go home and teach myself the material in an afternoon. She's also rude for no reason, constantly grumpy, and makes the class uncomfortable to attend. attendance is required but the class is pointless
Tires to come off as this sweet old lady but is a condescending —- when she doesn't like you, which is almost all of us. Her teaching is beyond unorganized and she never makes sense. You'll teach yourself but still have to come and see her “outfits” which is what I think she wants. Attention.
Very sweet but completely unintelligible. Her lectures are required and she makes no sense. My only word of advice is to go to office hours and ask questions even if you don't have any. If she likes you, she will give you an A.
TAKE HER FOR ACCT if you can. She has a heart of GOLD and wants the best for you. TESTS are not impossible. Acct is hard but shes the best teacher and explains concepts well and does everything she can to help you succeed. If you go to class and study hard you will be just fine!
She has the best lectures ever and is very accessible. Don't buy the textbook before the class, wait to see if you need the extra resource. She provides good resources so you probably won't need it. There is one mandatory group project.
