Dr. Zhu is an AMAZING professor. He has good lectures and always makes the class laugh. iClicker attendance is a grade but anything above 70% = full credit. 2 HW assignments (unlimited attempts) and one quiz a week (2 attempts), but he will do them with you during office hours. Exams aren't bad if you study the homework and quiz problems. TAKE HIM!
Dr. Zhu is such a good professor! He is really nice and makes his lectures fun. There is a lot of homework compared to some other classes, but it helps you understand the material. Tests are very clear and iclicker questions are used to take attendance in the class. I would love to take him again.
My impression is that he started this year teaching at A&M, and he's great! Very accessible outside of class, talks to students before and after class. Attendance is done by iClicker questions which are good grade-boosters. Lots of ALEKs homework (E-Textbook too) but his exam info papers tell you what sections it's on the test and what to study!
Such a kind-hearted and caring professor! I loved him so much that I plan on taking him for CHEM120 too! Two online homework assignments a week with an online (outside of class) quiz once a week. He seems to really love what he's teaching and teaches it well. The most time you will spend outside of lecture on is lab work and studying for exams.
Sweet Professor. Homework was only two ALEKS assignments (which you could retake to get a 100) and one canvas quiz a week (only the top 6 scores were kept). Labs made up most of the homework. I had no previous chem knowledge but was able to understand concepts well. Tests were not terrible, and he provided a good amount of Extra Credit.
I plan on taking Dr. Zhu again for Chem120. There are 2 ALEKS assignments a week that are fairly easy, a total of 10 online quizzes but he drops the lowest 4 and a 70% iClicker grade counts as full attendance points. He offers a lot of extra credit, explains concepts very well and makes lectures engaging. I would recommend others to take his class!
Only 2 homeworks a week with unlimted attempts on each question. Engaging lectures. Attendance grade is iclicker and only .5% of the grade for the class.
Dr. Zhu is very sweet! He explains concepts clearly and at a slow pace. He has ALEKS homework due every Thursday and Sunday, but he is very understanding about extending deadlines if needed. Exams aren't too bad, they are similar to his iClicker questions. There is iClicker every class, but as long as you hit 70% of points you are good.
Professor Zhu is a great lecturer. He explains topics very well and relates them to easy-to-grasp concepts. He is very good one-on-one as well. Do not pack up early, and give this man your attention for the ENTIRE lecture. He gets upset when people talk over him or make too much "packing up" noise which is very understandable.
Lin Zhu is an amazing professor. Zhu's lectures were easy to grasp and explained excellently. He cares about whether or not his students understand the material, and his ALEKS assignments were a walk in the park. His online quizzes were fairly easy if you took notes. The exams weren't too difficult. One of the best chem professors TAMU offers!
I walked into his class not knowing what to expect, but I was presently surprised. He is so caring and explains the topics well. I went to tutoring in order to fully understand, though. There is a weekly quiz, which is easy to do good on if you pay attention and use your notes. The tests are just the quizzes with different numbers.
Chem is not my strongest subject but I still managed to get an A with Dr. Zhu. He is a decent professor and lectures are very understandable, although I still had to get outside tutoring. Go to the SI sessions!! They were nearly empty most times and really helped! Just a warning that he did not give a practice test for any exam except the final
CHEM 119 lecture with Professor Zhu was a breeze. There were 2 homework each week unlimited tries, 1 quiz which normally had 2 attempts (sometimes 3) and was based on notes in class and homework. Tests are similar to the quizzes in style. The professor is great at explaining the material and enjoys teaching with the occasional joke here and there.
Chemistry is my weakest subject because the course material was rough but Professor Zhu made it pretty understandable. There's a lot of homework (2x/week) but it definitely helps you learn, 1 quiz/week (2 attempts), and the exams were relevant to the homeworks/quizzes. He also replaces the lowest exam score with ur final exam score if it's higher.
Professor Zhu was amazing. I expected chemistry to be my hardest class, but it actually turned out to be my highest grade. He is so so helpful in office hours, and even extends his hours before tests and the final exam. His tests are just like the quiz questions that he gives. He gives so many opportunities to raise your grade. Would recommend!
I LOVED Professor Zhu's class. His lectures were interesting, and he routinely let us out 5 minutes early. But don't try to leave before he's done, because that's disrespectful and he gets mad. He really cares about his students and gives lots of extra credit. Homework is unlimited attempts and quizzes get two attempts. Exams are easy. Take Dr Zhu!
Professor Zhu was a great professor and paid a lot of attention to his students. He explained things really well and the iClicker questions were very similar to what was on the test. As long as you understand his weekly quizzes, you'll do well on the exams.
Dr. Zhu is a great professor! He is not only a nice and caring person, but also very good at actually teaching the material. His tests were always fair and completely representative of his slides/lectures.
TAKE THIS MAN!! I was terrified going into TAMU Chem, and he made it such a great experience. The assignments and his lectures help you learn the material. He's very understanding and gives a good amount of extra credit. Respect him, and he'll respect you. Study the quizzes, homework, and iClicker questions before exams, and you should fare well.
Awesome Professor, very down to earth and teaches in a balanced way! Homework is not gruesome, and he actually looks at the important things he want us to understand and learn from our homework(does not assign 6 modules of ALEKs every week). Exams are just like what he teaches and the quizzes he gives. Overall, an amazing professor!
Professor Zhu was a king. His lectures focused on the things we needed to know. The homework and quizzes he assigned would go along with what we learned in the lecture. The exams were very fair and he never threw anything at us that we had not seen before. He also gave a lot of extra credit at the end. It seemed like he enjoyed what he was doing.
Overall, not a bad prof but wouldn't be my first choice to take again. Although he's very nice, his lectures weren't helpful. If your someone who can get something right seeing it once, then this is the prof for you. If not, you MUST study every day to at least pass his exams. No give practice exams/ curve, and anything could be on them. Good luck
Dr. Zhu is a great chemistry professor, there were many extra credit opportunities through iClicker and extra homework. The exams were basically ripped from the quizzes, so they weren't had to study for. If you attend class and do the problems, do your homework and study the quizzes it should be an easy A.
Take this professor lol. The last chem I've taken was chemistry pre-ap like in the Covid era, and came in with minimal knowledge of any of the content covered. Despite this, I was able to clearly understand new content that he put out. On top of his great homework platform ALEKS, he'll offer crucial extra credit points!
Such an unbelievably great guy, this was his first year at A&M as a teacher iirc and he's so good. I'm a 1st semester freshman in the corps with bad study habits, I managed to pull my grade from a C- to a B+ by year's end, while learning how to study in college, if I could do it anyone could.
Dr. Zhu changed my life. I couldn't be where I am today without him. He's my whole universe. Great professor, great attitude, great teacher, great person. Take him if you can, you won't regret it.
He is the love of my life.
Dr. Zhu has been my favorite professor at TAMU so far. While gen chem may seem intimidating right out of high school, Zhu provides just everything and more you need to exceed his class. He doesn't give test reviews but the exams are almost exactly like the weekly quizzes, so just review those. Couldn't recommend this silly man more!!
Dr. Zhu was literally the sweetest professor ever to exist. He never fails to make the lecture funny and interesting. His teaching style is On Point and he always welcomes questions and additionally will take time out of his class to talk to his students and connect. Gives easy points also. Best PROF EVER!!!!!!
SUCH A GOOD PROF! His lectures make more sense than most other professors. There is less work than other profs make you do (though there is still a good amount). He records all his lectures and offers extra credit. There are no trick questions on his exams and they're pretty easy if you just study. Also I took chem 120 not 119 like it says.
HE WAS AMAZING. Seriously the nicest prof ever. He teaches so well without overwhelming you with homework and unnecessary busy work. You will thank yourself for taking him.
GREAT PROFESSOR! He only keeps your top 6 quiz grades. He gives extra credit. He gives a review guide telling you all the concepts on the exams with notes to what homework problems, quiz questions, and lecture slides. He records all his lectures. Also everyone I have talked to says they like him more than the other profs they've had. TAKE HIM!
I've heard of other gen chem profs who give a big workload, but Zhu doesn't! I took him for both chem 119 and 120, and each time he included extra credit at the end of the semesters, drops a lot of low quiz grades, and he uploads exam reviews and practice questions before exams. He records all his lectures, and his office hours are very helpful!
Had to drop this class, he's hard to keep up with in lecture. Nice and forgiving man, fair professor, office hours are your best friend. Rarely he'll contradict himself so you'll want the 1 on 1 time.
TAKE HIM!!!!! Lectures are very helpful. He gives many examples during class and iClickers. His exams are easy because they're literary the quiz and iClicker problems. Office hours will be your best friend and allows him to get to know you. He's super caring and is willing to meet with you outside office hours to help you if needed.
He's super sweet, caring, and accessible. He explained the content very well and his tests were pretty straight forward. I highly recommend him!
def take this proffesor for 119 or 120 him or edwards are the two best. 100% go to office hours because they help a lot and tbh is the only way I got a good grade. By far the two best and not even close and youll do fine with either.
He was an awesome professor! He was easily approachable and really cared about our learning. I understood exactly what I was expected to do to make the grade I wanted. He would walk around during lecture to make sure everyone understood what was going on! I definitely recommend him!
If you have a choice between Zhu and Edwards, take Zhu!! He is an amazing professor and gives half the work Edwards does. His tests are very doable, all you have to do is study the quizzes. There were a total of about 13 quizzes, but he only took the top 6. He cares a lot for his students and wants them to do well in class.
Zhu is amazing, he is such a sweet man. Pace of lectures are slower, and he records and posts all lectures. There is iClicker almost every class, and ALEKS homework due Thurs and Sunday, but very doable. One quiz a week, and exams mirror the quiz questions a lot so make sure to review them. Exams are very fair/ on the easier side, highly recommend!
TAKE ZHU FOR CHEM 119 OR 120! There are 3 multiple choice tests for 110 points each, and he replaces your lowest grade with the final. He assigns 1 quiz a week for 13 total but only takes your highest 6, and the test is practically the quiz questions. He will give out extra credit towards the end of the semester, but he is a great prof and cares!
I had a different professor for 119 and I can say this was such a refreshing and engaging experience. He really cared about the students and teaches the material very very well. He was very clear about his expectations and gave enough work to allow us to learn without feeling overwhelmed
I was fortunate enough to take Dr. Zhu for both chem 119 and 120. He is fantastic with lectures and is reasonable if a deadline needs to be pushed back. The homework is lighter than other professors, but it still allows for plenty of practice. He is wonderful in office hours and with emails. I would take Dr. Zhu for every chem class if I could.
Took Zhu for 119 and 120, and he is THE BEST. He posts his lectures but go to class for iclicker points and because they are genuinely enjoyable. GO TO OFFICE HOURS!!! He will help you with the weekly quizzes and homework. He wants his students to succeed. He will prepare you well for exams and he doesn't make anything harder than it needs to be.
TAKE HIM! took him for both 119 and 120 because I loved him so much! He was AMAZING. Hw every week but theres examples you can look at for each question & get unlimited tries. quizzes were super easy and not proctored. iClickers in class so attendance mandatory but class was always enjoyable. For exams, look at notes, LOs, homework, and quizzes!
Dr. Zhu is amazing! I took him for CHEM 119 and CHEM 120. He is a very good lecturer and his exams have always reflected the course material well. He's always open to help his students outside of class as well!
He was such an amaxing professor and the only reason I recieved an A in Chemistry! His first test was prett y easy but his next few were a little tougher. His lectures are amazing and he really takes the time to explain the problems. He has a great sense of humor that will keep you engaged. His office hours really help too!
the goat!!!
Take Zhu! Literally forgot about a quiz and he let me retake for full credit. Easy coursework that will boost your grade and made me like chemistry again! Super funny and sweet, slower pace but made me learn more. Weekly quizzes and HW. I read the textbook maybe twice.
Dr. Zhu is a great teacher. Teaches concepts simply and also is very funny. He says alot of funny jokes which is awesome. Definitely not an "easy" class. You still have to try. I recommend doing work right as he assigns it. ALEKS assignments but unlimited attempts. Class attendance isn't mandatory but has iClicker questions every lecture. Take him!
He is an amazing professor, I highly recommend him! He truly wants you to succeed and wants you to come talk to him and ask questions. The lectures are so important to learn the material, and he does daily iclickers for attendance that helps boost your grade. He is great at breaking concepts down and effectively explaining/teaching them.
Offers a little bit of extra credit. Tests are a little hard but not if you pay attention in lecture and SEEK HELP when needed. The quizzes and assignments help balance the grade. Lab is also managable if you ask questions and prepare.
Good prof for chem 119 but definitely overrated. Gets very mad at anyone who leaves class early and got mad at me in office hours for not remembering things from lecture. He cares though as he stayed 2 hrs past office hours to help students. Class is challenging but not impossible, very good grade breakdown.
The guy can teach chem pretty well and gives pretty helpful examples in lecture, homework, and take-home quizzes which are a plus. Tests are reasonably difficult for what it is, as long as you study it shouldn't be too bad. However the guy has a tendency to pick on students and gets pissy if you leave even a nanosecond early.
Dr.Zhu is a very kind person and his signature laugh is always great to hear. The class itself is not very hard (very easy if you took AP Chem in high school) and if you have any questions his answers always make sense. The lab is also not very hard but you just have to focus on following the steps and getting the smart worksheet answers right.
The greatest chemistry professor of all time. Had him for 119/120. He is a great lecturer, reachable outside of class, and just a friendly guy. I frequently ran into him strolling the ILSQ and he was very kind and remembered me even though I was one of his 500 students. Best professor!
Really nice and respectful. He goes really slow so you can actually understand the concepts. He does iClicker, so go to class. His classes are engaging and recommend sitting in the front
Dr.Zhu is an amazing chem professor. He is so sweet and very accessible outside of class. Lectures were well paced and Zhu posts all of the lecture notes and recordings after class. iClicker was used for attendance but you only need a 70% for full credit. Exams weren't too bad and if you've taken chem in high school, you'll be fine.
I love Dr. Zhu!! I'm not very good at chemistry and its honestly one of my least favorite subjects. However, I enjoyed his class a lot. He gives a lot of extra credit at the end of the semester through iClicker, and will replace the lowest test grade with the final. Great guy!
Not a difficult class at all, and Professor Zhu makes it very clear what will be on exams. Attendance is somewhat mandatory as he does iClicker, but you only need 70% correct for full credit so you can miss some classes if you have to. Likes to crack jokes in class and is overall a very personable guy.
I really loved Professor Zhu. I would recommend him. His lectures were really easy to understand, and he made chemistry fun. He gives a couple of extra credit assignments that bring your homework percentage up a few points. He uses fun analogies during his lectures to make students understand chemistry better.
The BEST! Two ALEKS HWs (unlimited attempts) & 1 Canvas Quiz (not proctored, 2 attempts) a week. Tests were fair. iClickers during lectures. Lectures were engaging, he is so funny. Go to office hours--he explains things well. 3 exams + a final. Final replaces lowest exam grade (if you score higher).
Dr. Zhu makes lectures very funny and is an extremely sweet person. His exams are not trying to confuse you, and there's extra credit from iClicker, simple homework, and good notes slides! He truly cares about the success of his students, and he does not like when people walk out early / pack up before he is finished (so don't do that!).
I can't express how amazing this professor is. I knew nothing about chemistry, but he made learning so easy. I even ended the semester liking chemistry if I'm being honest. Dr. Zhu is awesome, and if you were as worried about chem as I was, take him.
Dr. Zhu is THE BEST chem professor at TAMU. Sadly, I don't have him for 120, but he is amazing, and I wish I did have him. If you have Zhu, expect to pass, but you have to put in effort. He's very accessible in office hours and always answers questions because he wants to see his students succeed. Take Zhu if you can!
Dr. Zhu is the best lecturer! Makes a complex topic seem so simple. Would 10000% recommend him. He is also so sweet and genuinely cares about his students.
Dr Zhu's lectures were always helpful, and most of the HW helped on exams. While his class can cover difficult topics at times, he is always available to help students, even outside of regular office hours. He genuinely cares about how well students do and I would strongly recommend taking him. Keep a high quiz and HW grade, and you should be fine.
Great professor. Dr. Zhu cares about his students and their grades. Lectures are definitely helpful but learning the material is possible without them due to the resources and recorded lectures posted on Canvas. Long practice tests that weren't graded were super helpful. Exams math heavy and relatively easier than other 120 classes. Take Zhu.
Dr. Zhu, both in and out of class, is incredibly kind. He wants to see every one of his students succeed. He will take time out of his day to work with any student who needs help and offers many opportunities to succeed in his class. Overall, he is the best professor I have had at A&M.
Very good chem professor. He teaches material in a way that is not confusing. He also has multiple extra credit opportunities. Tests are kind of on the harder side to be honest though.
Great professor! I loved his lectures, they helped me understand the material. Lots of practice and exams were pretty fair in my opinion. Definitely study and review outside of class!
Professor Zhu is awesome!!! As far as chem profs go, he gives some of the easiest tests. He's also just a great teacher, and really breaks down the material in a way that's easy to understand. For CHEM 120, he gave extra credit opportunities for exams 2, 3, and the final.
One of the best chemistry professors you will ever have. Super caring and has a great sense of humor too. It is very clear he loves his job, and I really liked how lectures were structured. Worked an example problem, then had us do another ourselves. As long as you pay attention during lecture and do all of the HWs and quizzes, you will get an A.
Lin is great, my only complaint is that he goes a little fast in lectures sometimes, but chem 120 has a TON on info to learn, so that's expected. Iclicker is a decent grade so make sure you show up to class. Lab can get kind of annoying but make sure youre putting in effort because its 25% of your grade. The canvas page is organized really well.
BEST PROF EVER!!! Only good 120 prof I've heard of. He explains everything very well and provides lots of practice problems for understanding. If you go to class you can def get an A. Plus extra credit on exam 2, 3 and final.
Dr. Zhu is the best chem prof I have heard about to this day. He really knows the material and can explain it in a way that makes sense to almost everyone. And to make his class even better, his tests are relatively easy because of how prepared you are with the material he's given you before the exam. Would 10/10 recommend.
Had him for 119 and I still love him. 3 exams + final (replaces lowest exam if higher). Need 70% iClicker to get full in-class points. 1 quiz (take home, unproctered) + 2 ALEKS a week. GO TO OFFICE HOURS, he helps with everything (quizzes too!). Such a sweet proff, going to miss him. Lab is horrible no matter who you have. 3 extra credit rounds.
THE GOAT. 120 was a little more difficult than 119, but it's all easy with Dr. Zhu. He uses iClicker in class and teaches a lot by walking through examples that reflect on the exam. His exams aren't bad at all, definitely a great professor if you can get him.
Dr. Zhu is a GREAT guy! He definitely does a good job making difficult content easier. He offers lots of practice both in lecture and outside that should adequately prepare you for exams. He offered quite a bit of extra credit and his tests seem to be easier than other 120 professors. Unfortunately, lab sucks no matter what.
Dr. Zhu was the most amazing professor ever and he is also the sweetest person. It is clear he cares about the subject and teaching it. There is daily IClickers but there was a 70% cutoff. The tests are a little challenging but he releases practice questions to demonstrate what may be on the exam. Take this professor, you won't regret it!
I liked this professor a lot! He does give out extra credit at the end of the semester. I got screwed over (so did many kids) because of a leaked lab exam that altered the curve grade so we didn't get a curve (which is usually given out in lab). Bc of that I got an 89 in the class when I should have had a 90 but oh well. it wasn't Zhu's fault.
He is super caring and explains the subject well! The main thing that messed up hundreds of student's grades was the horrendous unfair lab exam. Because of cheating that took place they didn't curve it fairly and it tanked many peoples grades by a letter grade. Overall, this issue was not Zhu's fault and he is a really great professor
HE IS AMAZING TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN! He explains the material very well and makes learning fun. Chem 120 seemed so easy with him and I wish I could take it again because of how much he made me love it. Great prof teaching a hard course = great class. Srsly take him.
Dr. Zhu is AMAZING! Take him if you can. Zhu cares a lot about his students and want's everyone to succeed. There is iclicker every day and ALEKS due twice a week and weekly quiz. Zhu made class easy&fun.I would take him for every class if I could. He is also super easy to access outside of class. The worst thing about this class was lab.
Very good prof. Taught class in a way that was easy to understand without an insane amount of homework. Cared about his material and gave extra credit towards end of year. Tests were very manageable and he gave lots of practice questions and tests.
Great Prof! Very clear on grading criteria! Homework assignments are a great way to learn and review content, homework questions have infinite attempts with explanations for what was done wrong and quizzes have multiple attempts. Explains things very well and provides lecture notes and video lectures on canvas that cover all content
Its just that he doesn't really explain certain topics well or he explains topics that we went over in highschool to much, I do get that past semesters he would give practice questions ect but he doesn't do that anymore and I feel like that was really critical. His test dont cover what he went over in class but he is a good prof dont get me wrong.
His lectures are pretty good, but he doesn't give out practice exams, so you really have to study on your own. Be ready to work hard because he gives three assignments every week.
Dr. Zhu is very sweet and loves all of his students. You can always find him in the CLL or in office hours trying to help students as much as possible. I found it difficult to find a good way to study for his exams as he doesn't give practice exams anymore and there was a lot of memorization. However his class is very doable, just work hard!
Zhu is an amazing professor. Lectures were very easy to follow and he made them engaging with his jokes. There is a lot of homework, but it is all incredibly helpful and worthwhile. There are no practice exams, but the homework and quizzes are all you need to get an A on the exams. The exams are very manageable. I would definitely take him again
The best chem professor at Texas A&M. He was funny, caring, and organized. He set up his class so that the homework and open-note quizzes where always way harder than the exams making them a breeze. His lectures included the right balance of straight lecturing and practice through iClicker. He seemed to genuinely care about his students.
Very chill guy and a great professor. Would teach in a way that anyone can understand and provide lots of examples. Does assign a good amount of ALEKS, but they help with understanding the concept. His tests are relatively easy, but the only con is that they tend to be low in questions, so missing one or two questions can get you into the B range.
Everyone raves about how lucky you are if you get him but honestly, I don't get why. He expects you to sort of just know the topics rather than truly teaching them. If you are already good at chemistry, you will thrive in his class. If you've struggled with it in the past, he is not the right fit for you! Tests are also very heavy being 130pts!
Honestly this professor is the goat. I came into Chem with a background in chem, so the class wasn't very hard for me. If you have the chance take him!
I took AP chem in high school so to be honest I didn't pay attention in this class at all, but from what I picked up he is a good engaging prof. He has helpful lecture slides and does plenty of in class examples so you are able to do well on the homework/tests. 2 weekly homework assignments and a canvas quiz, but nothing is lock down browser.
Professor Zhu is an amazing chemistry professor! As someone who did not take AP Chem, I was really nervous for this class, but his lectures and iClicker questions made the content easier to consume. There are no previous exams, but if you study the homework, quizzes, iClicker questions, and do the extra credit, you'll be in great shape. Take him!!!
LOVE Zhu! He is awesome. Such a smart guy and makes understanding chem so much easier. He is great in office hours and is such a nice prof! He gives extra credit and tbh his exams aren't too bad. Lab sucks, but he has no control over it. Honestly, Zhu made chemistry bearable and I would highly recommend taking him!!
LOVEEEEE this professor. I didn't take AP Chem when I was in high school, and I can confidently say that I made A's on exams and I knew what was going on. He also offered video lectures and extra credit which is SUPER helpful if you ever have to miss a class. He does do daily iclickers, but they aren't bad at all!
Amazing Prof, take him if you can. He's always down to help if youre struggling, and trust me I was for sure. At first the class seemed overwhelming but if you just take the time to understand his quizzes and the homework, it's an easy A.
Dr. Zhu is super sweet and definitely cares about teaching things the right way but he isn't accessible outside of class and offers little to no resources unlike the other profs to prepare for exams. Attendance is basically mandatory (must be in class 75% of lectures).
He's the best! He'a great lecturer and explains the material really well. The homework load was light and the quizzes were all online with two attempts. The tests are multiple choice and pretty straightforward. He uses IClicker but the questions are actually great for studying since they're very similar to exams. He also offers extra credit!
Dr. Zhu is a great professor if you're willing to put in some effort. Even if chemistry doesn't come naturally to you, he provides so many resources to help you succeed. There is extra credit and also lots of practice to prepare you for exams. He's very accessible outside of class, responds to emails, and he's willing to help when you're confused.
TAKE HIM! My sister and I loved his laugh (you'll see...) This guy was awesome! He is funny, and I always saw him outside of class in the CLL and other Chem things. Brought my C up to a B with his "final exam replaces lowest score exam". I had a lot of growth this semester (studying methods) through this class. Learned lots about myself and chem!
Lin is the best 119 professor. He lectures well and is engaging to listen to. HIs exams are easy and he gives practice questions that are exactly what are on the exams. He offers extra credit and chances to fix poor scores. Attendance somewhat mandatory but small price to pay for all the other benefits. Also records his lectures.
I genuinely loved taking Dr. Zhu's class and I would absolutely recommend that you take him. His tests were way easier than the homework and his lectures were clear and not boring at all. A big chunk of the grade is from exams, but he gives extra credit and there's some basically free questions every test. If you can take him 100% do.
Dr. Zhu was a great introduction to chemistry at Texas A&M. His lectures are fast paced and engaging, and if you feel behind they are all recorded. Attendance is mandatory via iClicker. His tests are usually easier than the homeworks and they are all multiple choice. Overall a kind, funny professor that I would take again!
Profs super easy and straight forward, his exams are also super easy, he has a lot of homework but it's not so bad. And he does iclickers for attendance but they give u points that are apart of your grade
Best chem professor! He wants you to succeed and is a very fair grader. The final replaces your lowest exam score. He offers practice questions before exams that are very helpful. Some of the final questions were the same as practice. He also offers extra credit and is very organized.
4 tests (including final), a mini exam, online quizzes, and aleks homework. It is very attainable to get an A in his class. He writes his exams sort of similar to his weekly quizzes, which makes them good practice exam questions. He gave 2 extra credit opportunities that were worth 5 points each. He was a funny and kind professor. WOULD RECOMMEND!!
