DO NOT take his internet classes!!! he isn't helpful and won't return any of your questions!!
Just because a teacher is hard does not make him bad. He doesn't hand out A's like their candy. Really interesting class but be prepared to work. If you're looking for something easier for a Phys. Sci try Geology.
his class is very hard. he gives weekly quizzes and his test comes from no where cuz it is not from what he lectures about. his final is 40% of ur grade and it is very hard. i had an A in the class but the final dropped me to a C.
Can barely relay into words how hard and unfair this class was. I am a good student. I study hard and went into the final with a B+, but I failed the final and got a C. Final covered topics not gone over in class. In my opinion a male chauvinist.
very hard class to take so be prepared for weekly quizes and rock hard tests. tests are not straight from books nor lecture. finals worth 40% so if u work hard 95% of teh semester and mess up on the final youre jsut an average C person to him.
if you want a good grade in this class, be prepared to memorize every single detail. his multiple choice and fill in the blanks tests are very obscure and detail specific
i took this online. it was very difficult for me. a quiz every week : 5 fill ins in 5 minutes on 3 30pg chapters... no fun! I had a 40 percent at the end of the class, and he curved it to a B... worked out ok for me!
As everyone says, this class is hard, especially on-line. He not only gives the worst quizzes and tests, he is more than unfriendly, in fact, downright rude, when answering peoples questions in the forum. Expect to absorb a lot of materail and study hard if you want to pass.
most of the stuff on his tests are in the lecture notes. the quizzes are covered in his lectures & notes. he's gives a lot of trick questions on his quizzes. i'd rather take his class over dodgen
Very abstract in his teaching style
I took this class being interested in astronomy but after taking Lee, he made it very interesting and now whenever I see an article on astronomy I read it. He is very hard, but he also gives you complete notes for you to look off and everything in the notes is on the tests/weekly quizzes.
His grading scale is different then most, 80-100 is an A, 70-80 is a B, and so on. I personally got an A and enjoyed the class, especially towards the end when he discuses cosmology. He's very resonable and has a great sense of humor. Test are challeging but you dont have to be a genius to pass.
do NOT take this class online unless you know everything there is to know about astronomy! tests weren't from the book or lecture & were fill-in-the-blanks! i would read & highlight the whole chapter & read the lecture material online only to fail the quizzes & tests! 1st test was so hard that i thought i had read the wrong section.
Dr. lee is an excellent professor, your pass if you show up to class everyday and take good notes. His quizes and test and not that hard and he cares about his students.
hate this teacher, so rude ....class is hard.. do not take this teacher!!!! if u'r not interest in astro do not take him... quiz every week.. and tricky question. also do not take online. i took this class three time ... and i drop every time.

I had never seen an 'F' before in my life until I started this class. Then, after recieving three 'F's on the first three quizzes, I ended up having to drop the course. This class was taking up all of my time, and I studied and studied, only to keep failing. I don't want to become a rocket scientist, I just wanted to learn about the stars. Take this course only if it's the only one you're taking @ the time, and if you're ready to spend hours upon hours memorizing the text word for word!
UNCLEAR TEACHER
This teacher is very rude and unclear. I have been nothing but polite in my correspondence and he has been very uncaring and should not be teaching.
make sure you answer homework questions very thoroughly.
Dr. Lee is a hard teacher, but I learned a lot from his class. He's interesting, but he goes through the material quickly, so you have to pay attention and go to class.
AVOID THIS PROFESSOR-this class was my worst experience out of 60+ units at Delta. The teacher is HORRIBLY rude in e-mail communications. Worse, questions appear on the quizzes and exams OUT OF NOWHERE. The information simply was NOT presented in the reading or lecture, so where it came from is a mystery.
I dropped this course after 2 weeks. The professor told us to study particular practices tests and the lecture notes and the quizzes were nothing similar to what we were told to study! There are two web sites that must be used for a 3 unit course. The professor teaches as if we already know everything about Astronomy.
I would not recomend taking this class if you already have a lot on your plate. You must dedicate a lot of time to learning and memorizing the material. Quizes and tests are very difficult, but he does allow you to drop some at the end of the semester.
I would recommend this teacher to NO ONE! Hes an awful teacher and focuses on the useless points on his quizzes and tests. His notes are pointless to look over, for they have nothing in them that will help you. Im a 4.0 student and had to drop his class before I failed it, the only class I've ever had to do this with. HORRIBLE TEACHER!!
Very difficult instructor. I had to drop this class. He tests your test scores to make sure you're reviewing them. He will mark a right answer wrong on purpose. Who does that?? I WONT recommend him to anyone. His not helpful either. You have to read book, his lecture and another website. Overloads with a lot of information.
This teacher is the worst teacher I have ever had. Not only is he extremely condascending, rude, and disrespectful but his class is extremely difficult! He assumes that we are all astronomy majors and responds back to emails as if were inferior and with unncessary punctuations such as ???? !!!!!!. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS with LEE!
It's difficult to get help from him. When I did ask a ? he was curt and asked what I came up with. I didn't get it at all so I couldn't give an answer I needed one. How can you answer the quiz? You have 35 min. for 15-20 ???. You must explain, defend, work 3 ??? and type in answers. NOT Possible. A good teacher wants you to succeed not fail.
The worst teacher I have EVER had! I had a 4.0 before I took this class! The tests don't make sense and material on tests aren't on the lecture or in the book. And if you need help, good luck getting anything other than a rude e-mail response. (I took this class online btw.) Avoid this teacher at all costs!
Took this class online. Very difficult instructor. No teaching method whatsoever. Assignments have to be done at another website, which has a really bad grading system. The quizzes and tests are ALL worth 100pts! Literally, everything in the Gradebook section is worth that amount including any additional assignments. Do not take him, he's horrible.
Very hard, need to know both physics and calculus to fully understand, had a 4.0 before this and expect to get a C in this class. Only took it because I needed it to transfer. Take a different class, anything but this one.
This many people can't be wrong. I thought they could, but now I am wrong too. First C ever at Delta and I got an A in the lab portion of the class. We are not kidding, worst teacher ever.
I took the Internet class, and Dr. Lee's platform is extremely hard because its composition is 95% tests. The frist C I ever got in Delta and the first class from which I had to withdraw. On the positive side, Dr. Lee is very helpful and responsive via the e-mail. I appreciate same-day e-mail responses. Not a bad guy, but not an easy class.
Worst class I have ever taken. I have never withdrawn from a class before but this is the first time. Took a nice "w" and I'm trying to transfer for next fall, see how that goes now. The point system is wack, test are mostly comprehensive, which makes it extremely hard. The homework is on a different site and takes forever to do. Did this class onlin
I had Dr. Lee as a professor for BOTH physics10 & Astro01. Bottom line: the majority of courses at SJDC are far far easier than anything you will encounter at the University level. Dr. Lee prepares you for the transition so that when you attend a University you are not "shell shocked" by the difference! Do the work now or drown in failure later.
Extremely hard teacher. Most of the readings and notes don't match what's on the tests. I don't recommend to have this teacher if you have a big load. this class requires a lot of work.
Took this online. Lots of work, exams are rough. I got a C and worked my butt off for it. Do not expect to skate through this class. Responsive professor.
The hardest class I have ever taken. Got a C and worked my butt off for it. If science is not your strong suit DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.
This class contained a lot of homework and a quiz every week. He gives one written assignment that is worth a large portion of your grade and grades it based on correctness. I failed this assignment and the final. I had straight A's and then received a C in this class. Not a good choice for a general ed science.
No lecture, no direction, makes questions on tests almost unanswerable.
his online class is a bust. no matter how hard you study, 30 minutes is NOT enough time to answer 18-20 questions, especially when 2-3 of them are essay questions, and anything you write isnt correct, even if it is almost exactly like the correct answer he posts. he is extremely rude, and makes snide comments
This class is the dumbest thing ever. I took it online and there is no lecture at all. He only opens up quizzes and tests on the weekends which is retarded. The weekend should be away from school not studying uselessly in the book when the questions are so tricky and not from the right chapter they specify. He is very rude and snotty when you ask?s
Extremley HARD class!Took it online. I literally studied every single day and never got higher than a 58 out of 100 on a quiz. Everyone that has rated him prior to me is exactly right, he is rude, online test are impossible to pass, & most of all this is NOT an INTRODUCTORY Science course like it states. Felt like I was studying to be a scientist!
DR. Lee is the BEST! Class is difficult, but Dr. Lee is approachable, those who complained the most in his class were lazy, you have to put alot of effort in to this class but when you do it is completly worth it. Taking his class not only teaches you the subject, but he gives life lessons and again, HE IS THE BEST
Lee is, as a professor, exceptional. He continuously gives out life lessons, random but intriguing facts/theories, and astronomy is automatically an amazing subject to start with. He is intimidating and sometimes he can be harsh (only if you are lazy, uninterested or an idiot). His tests and assignments are difficult, but the key is to study A LOT.
took astro and phys sci. both very difficult, more difficult than biology, chemistry, and physics; though they shouldnt be. phys sci is an intro to science and should be easier. Pick a different teacher!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i took his physical sci. online class and it was difficult. impossible to get a good grade. quizes are difficult, some are ticky and exams are extremely difficult..dont take this class
Do not take this class! For the mid term weeks he still gives you a chapter assignment and a quiz on a new chapter. Even after studding the lectures, text book chapters, and completing weekly assignments I still received a failing grade. I?m not quite sure where he gets the quiz and test material from.
I have been working so hard tbe successful in all my classes. I was orced to drop this class, or get an F. I am dissappointed in myself, but fter reading some of these posts, I see that I am not alone. The tests and quiz were almost immpossible to pass. :(
To keep your sanity do not take this class!!!!!!!!!!!
The tests are incredibly hard to pass. After Hours of studying, I easily ace the homework but tests are impossible. All of the other comments here are true. DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY. I Really think he gets something out of failing students.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR IF YOU WANT TO PASS. Long story short, extremely difficult course. Tests and Quizzes were impossible to pass. Class average was a 60%. Lee should seriously think about finding a new profession because he could not teach to save his life.
I RECOMMEND this teacher. I disagree with, don't take this class it's hard. Yes, it's hard but does everyone realise this is COLLEGE? I did drop this class because of my peer laziness. However I'm taking it again with Dr. Lee. He is a WONDERFUL teacher. Everyone else is just lazy. He's interesting, funny, and extremely helpful! Take him!
This class is a lot of work. An intro to life for the young student. Take this class seriously, study, do your homework. My advice is to attend every class, study the class notes and the homework. The online homework can sometimes be a challenge. Dr. Lee is a really good teacher, work hard and you will pass. Thank you Dr. Lee.
He's very funny. He suggested that you speak out while he is giving lecture so if you had a question he'd help you to better comprehend the things he stated. He's a cheerful and upbeat person and is more than meets the eyes. Once you get to know him, He is a very interesting and life changing professor.
I'll preface this by saying I'm a straight A student. Dr. Lee is dedicated to class, but his quizzes and time allotted for each class section are a joke. Questions given are worded completely differently than what you learn/read. In a nutshell, if you read everything 3 times over, take notes, have NO OTHER classes you might get a "C".
I will admit that I have learned a lot because this is such a hard class (ASTRO001), but I am striving for the unreachable. You can memorize entire chapters, but the material on the tests is literally stated in such a way that it is a pure guess. I am so frustrated, and this is coming from a 3.87 GPA student. Don't let him ruin your GPA!
Textbook is straight forward and comprehension to answer end of the chapter questions is easy. Quizzes and Exams require comprehension and knowledge that is not covered in the book or asks questions that are from future chapters. So understanding the book and being able to answer end of the chapter questions is not enough.
Took this class online, and I found it to be horrendous. The system this professor used (Mastering Astronomy) wasn't helpful at all. Quizzes, tests, and final exam are a complete mess. Between the book, online homework website, and quizzes through deltaonline.org, nothing seemed consistent at all. Save yourself some GPA points, avoid this teacher.
Do not take this professor. Extremely difficult quizzes and test. Rarely relate to the textbook. Terrible, terrible proffesor.
his tests are ridiculous....gives you about 20 minutes to finish tests which have multiple choice and essay questions. He makes you do quizzes and exams on weekends. DONT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! HE SHOULD BE FIRED!
The quizzes in class are all closely related to the content discussed and cover basic knowledge from the chapters. If there was one thing keeping students from passing is that he focuses lectures on explaining difficult subjects from the text, instead of teaching more broadly on a chapter. If you don't know the subject, you HAVE to read.
DO NOT take Physical Science: Matter and Energy. This class was totally misleading, I thought it was going to be like Physics/related topics. Instead, it was about geologic time, meteorology, and other unrelated topics. Quizzes/mid terms were ridiculously hard. Only 20 minutes to answer 20-30 multile choice+essay questions. Don't waste your time.
Do not waste your time in any of his classes. NO study guides and NO review for test.He also does not stick to the material he tells the classes to study for the test. So for example he tells you test 2 will cover ch.5-9 and then on the test 10 and 11 will appear. Weekly quizzes (he does tell you what day), and homework assignments.
He is a very condescending teacher if you do not approach him in the manner he expects. He relates his disability at least once in every lecture to something on topic. I have a huge interest in cosmology and astronomy and he almost killed it for me. I scored highest on the final and rarely read the material. homework can be misleading as well.
TOOK AN ONLINE CLASS WITH HIM...BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE. I'M COMING FROM A UC AND THIS CLASS WAS BY FAR HARDER THAN ANY CLASS I'VE TAKEN. YOU HAVE 13 QUIZZES, 3 TESTS. WHEN YOU EMAIL HIM,HE IS A COMPLETE JERK. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! YOU WILL FAIL! CLASS STARTED WITH 30 SOMETHING PEOPLE AND ENDED WITH 9. HE IS A HORRIBLE TEACHER.
This professor may seem nice at first but as the classes go on, you learn that he is completely useless. His quizzes relate closely to the homework, which he did not write, but nothing in his lectures. He bases 67% of your final grade on THREE exams, then the rest on homework and quizzes. I do not recommend this class to any sane student.
Hes very old school and DEMANDS hard work! If you're willing to work hard and do what is asked, you will not have a problem. He teaches you not only Astronomy but also what it takes to be a good student. Very consistent. Looking for an easy A, stay away from him!
I haven't finished this class (online) but I have spent hours and hours studying and reading and may still fail. When I reached out to him for help he was extremely rude and insulting. Teachers should appreciate students who work hard and want to learn. He was completely inappropriate.
WORST TEACHER AT DELTA!!! He is very rude in emails, grades very hard and doesn't give you study guides. I asked him for help and he denied giving me help. Followed up with another email and he never returned it. I had to drop, and told him, then he decided to send me an email and still didn't help me. DO NOT TAKE HIM. YOU WILL REGRET IT.
I found this class to be very interesting and actually enjoyed it a lot. You will have a quiz every week and will have 3 midterms and a final. Final will be identical to test. Also all the tests are mostly comprised of the same multiple choice and fill in the blank questions from the homework. If you study you should do well in the class. :-)
Even though I probably am failing the class I can clearly say it is my fault. This class requires allot of homework and quiz every week but as long as you read take notes you will do fine. Despite public opinion Dr. Lee genuinely cares about his students and makes himself available 24/7. In less your a slacker like me don't take the class.
I took this class online. Mind you this is an introductory class, and this class is extremely hard. No exaggeration at all when i say EXTREMELY. He gives not at all enough time for the quizzes and tests. Theres another website he uses for the weekly homework, which is extremely time consuming and extremely difficult.
No communication, failed my mulitiple choice final but he won't let you review it
Avoid at all times. Do not take his class. You will regret it.
I'm a 3.8 student. This class is awful. I was interested in the material but Lee makes it impossible to succeed within reason. Be ready to spend 10+ hrs/wk reading and doing homework that's only worth 15% of your grade. Quizzes/Exam sometimes from book, other times whatever he feels like/only he understands. My first "C" ever and I BARELY passed.
I took this class in the Spring and was really interested in the subject. The class was okay until the third mid-term, which was all essay questions. The class went downhill really fast after. I barely passed with a C. Later, during a meeting with my counselor at Delta, she told me that only 7-8 people out of a 34-35 student class actually passed.
Very interesting subject, will answer any question you e-mail him as soon as he can. He doesn't feed you the answer he teaches you how to think. Overall one of the best professors I've ever had. If you understand the material, all the quizzes and exams come easy. He is an extraordinary man.
If you like spending 10+ hours on homework weekly, reading 2 large chapters a week, and studying hours for midterms that have nothing that you have studied. This is the class for you. Save yourself and do not take it. A quote from Dr.Lee, "I like your effort, but sometimes you need to fail to succeed."
If you're looking for an easy A, Dr. Lee's Astronomy1 is not for you. If you want to expand your mind and actually learn about the universe, then this a great class. I loved this course. There is tons of information presented and it was all exciting to absorb. You will need to study and keep up with the homework. Dr. Lee is a great teacher!
I tried taking this class online and the teacher should be wearing a ski mask cause its highway robbery. He doesnt show grades for quizzes or reply to questions. I have great grades and work hard, but this guy was a joke! Needs to find another job. The work is not out of book or online. You just guess and homework is graded sooo hard!
Dr. Lee is a very dedicated teacher. Beyond everything, he stresses on how to learn properly: To REALLY understand stuff, instead of mere memorization. His inspiring goal really makes him fun and interesting professor. Aside from his meta goal, the class it self is taught excellently. I have a particularly nice class as well, so that enhances.
The online assignments are easy, but the instructor does a final exam in person that is worth 50% of your grade. 3 students pass is final out of 150. The final is the killer because he doesn't use book information on the final. Don't take this class for a grade only pass or no pass because it's a hard final. The instructors a educated guy but tough
First time Ive ever been in a class where the ENTIRE class failed a test. Not one student passed. He has issues
He's a very good teacher. There is one weekly assignment that takes about an hour(for me), weekly quizzes, and four tests. He doesn't provide a study guide because the tests are JUST like the quizzes. Not an easy A, but as long as you ask questions, you'll learn a lot and do well.
Not the best proffesor!
He is a rare example of a teacher who not only teaches you the subject at hand, but teaches you how to be a lifelong learner. For those of you who value the acquisition of knowledge, this man will teach you how to peer through the veil of obscurity and attain it.
This is by far the worst class I've ever had the misfortune to take. He's so terrified someone might cheat that he makes it impossible for even the honest students to succeed. He skips office hours and gives weak, insufficient answers to questions. Do not take this class. DO NOT TAKE IT. He has no business teaching and ought to be fired.
Dr Lee is tough but fair, he believes in the testing system and if you have any issues his door is always open. I much enjoyed his class learned a great deal about everything and gained a new appreciation for the science. You will participate in discussions every day. Do not be afraid of being wrong occasionally, its part of the learning process.
He was very rude and condescending when responding back to emails. Easily gets annoyed if you ask for help, save yourself some GPA points and DO NOT take him!
Dr. Lee is an awesome instructor and person in general. He can be quite blunt and tends to be honest with people... Unfortunately, some people can't take the truth. Many also cry about his class because they get bad grades on exams... You have to study or you won't pass, but believe me, you will learn many things in this class.
There are 15 quizzes online and he'll take the 10 highest grades. Youll probably do well on them. Quizzes are worth 17 percent of your grade. There are weekly assignments online that take forever. Youll probably do well on them,if you do them. Assignments are worth 15 percent. so 32 percent in the bag. Easy A right?Too bad you won't pass the exams.
Literally one homework assignment for a single chapter was 100 questions. Worst class ever. I just needed extra units for transfer. Unless you plan on working for NASA-DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS !
Dr. Lee does not offer any help or guidance with homework, tests or assignments, which is especially difficult being it is such a hard subject. However, what bothered me the most of being his class was his blatant and inappropriate expression of political view, of which he mentions which race he thinks had suffered the most throughout history.
Do not even dare to take this class. No chance you will get good grade. You will just ruin your GED. Every week you have to do assignments that last forever. Besides that you have to answer short quizzes every week. There are only 15 questions, some of them simple, but most of them are not so much. And you have only 16 minutes per each quiz.
He is one of those teachers that makes you feel like you are stupid whenever you ask a question. The online class is crazy, way too much reading and way to much work. I do not recommend taking this class from this teacher.
Do not take this class if you care about your GPA , chances are you'll either fail or get a very low grade . The way he teaches is literally minimal in the context of lectures . You'll end up teaching yourself through out the whole semester instead of him teaching
After a while we stopped showing up to class. The homework and quizzes were all online, but the lectures were starting to get hard to bear. They mostly consisted of lecturing us on how to learn and look stuff up lol. Just do your work and study for the tests, which aren't too hard and you should be fine.
very hard grader, even if you get the answer right but you have a tiny misspelling he will mark it wrong. Also expect to memorize a lot and put in more work and time than necessary in this class despite it not being your major. this teacher doesn't understand that you have other classes and work. too bad hes the only one offering this class.
i was so interested in astronomy until i took this class. He made it so hard and his lectures are so unhelpful because theres barely any content. I really started hating astronomy after this even though I loved it growing up.
Dr. Lincoln Lee, as many of these reviews state, is not an easy professor. But, as long as you READ THE CHAPTER like in any class, do the homework, and study for the quizzes (3 questions; which have xtra credit occasionally), you should be an A or B student. Requires Algebra knowledge, and, preferably, knowledge of significant figures and notation
The professor expectations are very high for community college students. Even my counselor recommended not taking the course. But I took it anyway. I received a d with lots of hard work. DONT TAKE THIS CLASS
very unhelpful and insensitive teacher who thinks you need to teach yourself. I'm not sure why he has a job as a teacher if he can't teach. He expects everyone to learn on their own with very little guidance. If you ask questions you will get vague answers that imply you're stupid and should figure it out on your own. I've never been more depressed
This teacher is horrible! His online lectures have very little information in them and are just random excerpts from the text which make no sense at all so you're better off skipping the modules and just read the assigned chapters in text. The hw and quizzes are easy enough but the exams are so hard that he set the passing grade at 60% which is a D
I always get A's and sometimes B's. This is the first class I got a D. I'm not bad at school but he sure made this class extremely difficult. I am a full time student plus work part time so I literally had only about 9 hours per week to devote to this class. Normally thts enough but not for this class. He expects you to spend 3-4days per wk or fail
I wouldn't recommend this class to anyone. The professor simply doest teach. We don't pay tuition to self teach. He focuses more on the philosophy of teaching than actually teaching. He spent half of his time in lecture putting us down & the homework assignments were nothing like his exams. Physics 10 isn't even hard, but he makes it Impossible.
Took him for Astronomy, Dr. Lee is a tough teacher, but he is this way to make sure his students UNDERSTAND what you are reading. There is a difference between knowing something, and understanding something. He makes sure you leave the class with both. If you cannot take the pressure, and want an easy A, then don't take a science course.
Do not take this class. At least not with this professed online. The course work online isnt too bad but he never tells you whats going to be on the exams only what chapters to read and they are HARD and is not helpful and very rude. He expects way too much for community college students and this is coming from someone who usually gets all As.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS if you are even the slightest bit bad at science. This class should not be 3 units it needs to be at least 4 or maybe even 5. Took the class online but had to go in person to take four exams. The exams are hard and each exam is 18% of your grade! I am mostly an A student and I did not think I was going to pass this class.
One of the hardest classes I ever took. Note that I am a A-B student, this man made the whole class self-teach, he never gave powerpoints and told us we have to study all on our own for our 3 100 question tests. He did not give us any study guide to know what was going to be in the tests. BEWARE, take someone else. I manage to at least get a C.
Lincoln Lee means well, but he tries to teach the value of hard work through his curriculum; he expects you to figure out the answers. The questions on the homework and the exams can be vague and ambiguous. In addition, there is no exam review and no extra credit. I learned little compared to the tremendous effort I gave. Stay away!
NEVER TAKE THIS CLASS! Dr. Lincoln Lee doesn't teach, steals his lectures from other professors, and expects you to devote 3-4 days on an ONLINE class. If you are an A, B student in a humanities major, get ready to fail because according to him "You don't know how to study" but then he doesn't get the proper tools to learn how to study correctly.
Dr. Lee is a very inspirational teacher. To complete assignments you must understand the topic. However there is ridiculously too much homework, usually a chapter per week but the assignments take forever to complete( I do twice as much homework for this class than my 5 unit business class) for spring break he assigned 3 chapters. Avoid this class!
4 exams and they account for 72 percent of your grade. They are very hard! He doesn't tell whats on them just tells you to study your assignments. Would not recommend unless you are a freaking genius. Have to have two of them 60 percent or more to pass. Lot's of time spent on homework just to not have it make much difference in your grade.
Its all math. He would not go over how to solve problems. He said that would make us lazy learners and we would only try to mimic the math instead of learning it. He said if you show a kid how to tie his shoes he will struggle unless he does it himself, so we had to teach ourselves. The tests are nothing like the problems in the book.
HE IS THE WORSTTTT !!!!!!
DO NOT TAKE THIS DUDE! He is actually the worst professor I have taken at Delta College. He does not help his students learn but preaches a bigger meaning to his students that it's their fault for not learning adequately. He will not help you learn, and does not give good feedback. HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dr. Lee's class is very difficult. I am an A student and worked 4 times as hard to get a C. I had a 94% on quizzes and an 86% on homework, however his 4 exams are 72% of your grade, and are timed and very difficult. You must read everything for understanding, there is very little memorizing. Dr. Lee is tough, very nice in person if you seek help.
I strongly recommend not to take this class. Prof. Lee believes that making the course and exams as difficult as possible is the best way to teach. The whole course is structured based on memorization of terminology and not understanding of it. The class is heavily based on exams. If you do all the hw but don't do well on the exams, you won't pass.
I thought it would be fun to take an online astronomy class, but it was way too difficult. Dr. Lee should be fired. Almost everyone who has ever taken his class has failed. This says more about him than the students. He expects you to teach yourself advanced science and math. He is never there to help or answer questions. It just isn't worth it.
I'm all for challenging students and am not a fan of easy graders, but Professor Lee takes it too far with a "toss you in the deep end and watch you sink" kind of teaching style. It'd be one thing if he was inspiring and at least imparted some kind of passion for the subject on his students, but he fails to even manage that. Avoid.
