she's cute and stuff but i think she'd do better selling make-up behind a clinque counter...she's kinda ditsy and seems to know nothing....not very informative but she's nice and lectures are ok but she tends to go off topic

Absolutely loved her. She knows everything about everything. She's an excellent story teller, and keeps you entertained.
I could have watched all these video's on my own!
Great Teacher, very nice and very helpful. Cna explain things to you in everyday examples. Very smart and knows what she is talking about. Her tests have either hard or easy q's, a mix of both. also shes very funny and a great story teller, and sometimes a gud actor:P
She knows everything about everything! Very smart, and does a great imitation of an LSD trip. Makes class fun and interesting, even at 9 at night.
Very nice teachers, excellent. always smiling. brings a comfortable environment for the class. fair marker. exellent stories. and very interesting to listen to. very rare teachers can make lectures interesting. she does that. very smart toooo.
This woman is great at giving examples and wonderful stories to keep you intrigued. Her exams are difficult. Sections on Judaism and Christianity are long with lots of info to remember. Leaves topic for essay open for you to choose, makes it easier to write. I can't wait to take HUMS1171.
Shes really annoying. Talks WAY too much about**** thats NOT even on the test. That REALLY ticked me off. She never talks about the tests, then kills everyone on them then decides to boost up how much our essays were worth after we handed them in.
I'm a B+ student with a 96% average in this class. She's awesome, very easy and totally brilliant. She lets you know exactly what she expects on the exams. Take a LOT of notes though!
GREAT TEACHER, excellent lecturer. Definately not a dry course. Very intelligent also. Gives very full notes. Must have strong wrists to keep up lol. She awesome. helpful too hehe
Great prof. Enthusiastic/knowledgeable. Really gets your attention and always makes class fun. Lots of notes/test based on them/ must be in class. Will definetely take Humn1172. Some tangents but always interesting. Chance for guided tour of temple. Videos are mostly good.
Number 1 best teacher ever. I'd take her classes untill I was dead if I could. VERY nice! Do not skip.....EVER...tests 100% reflect lectures. However, DO skip if it's a video day. Videos are TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!!!! One more time TERRIBLE! Aw what the hell TTTEEERRRIIBBLLEE!!!
Interesting class to get an idea of some different academic career fields. Valuable to have a different accomplished speaker each week talk about their fields of study. Easy class but you have to pay attention and take notes, and write 3 college level papers and a final. Recommended, I would also recommend STSU 100 & ENGL 130 (HUMD 010 also good).
I don't understand this. If you fail the final exam, you fail the course. That makes no sense. I did good on my essays and went to every class. But she expects you to know 14 weeks of different lectures by different teachers for the final. I found that very unfair. Why wasn't there a mid-term? Too much to study for final. UNFAIR!!!
Amazing and inspiring. I will forever take her classes. You learn so much and are never bored with her amazing stories and vast knowledge. I love her and recommend her to everyone. I have never learnt so much and enjoyed school as much as i have in her classes. AMAZING TEACHER!!!!

Very good teacher, tells the stories of religion without bias. Story telling style works. Videos very informative. Take notes on everything, you've got to know alot for the tests, especially key concepts, figures(people), and a couple dates
Method of evaluating students is not effective. Final is based on lectures by multiple instructors over a period of 3 months. Very difficult to study for. If you faile the finale you fail the whole course no matter how well you did on other assignments. Needs to find a better way to evaluate students. Also pretty disorganized.
I dont care what any of you dumb people say...shes the best teacher ever and if you think otherwise then your just plain stupid.its not that hard to get a good mark just take good notes and study. shes very knowledgable and one of the most interesting teachers i've had.

She is one of my favourtie teachers ever. SHe was helpful, nice and interesting
AMAZING TEACHERS, AWESOME CLASS, VERY EASY, LERAN LOTS OF PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE. Each week differnet teachers come in and lecture. We had the likes of Mano Daniel, Shaun Tyakoff come in...teachers from the fields of Philosophy, Anthropology, Literature, World Politics, Geography, Biology, Psychology, etc...Linda herself gives the lecture on Religion.
Excellent professor. Teaches at a university level, which is why the exams are based on lectures and good notes. If you're new to taking notes in class, ask other students for theirs from time to time to see if you're missing anything. Linda is informative, interesting and completely unbiased. A TREAT to take this class!
Linda is the craziest teacher ever!! I can see why some pple think she is interesting cuz her lectures are very lively, but overall she is the worst teacher I have ever had!! all she does is lectures...nothing else!!! she goes really fast and on tangents, so if u dont know how to excel in note taking, DO NOT TAKE HER, YOU WILL FAIL!!!
All notes, if you take them down successfully and study them you will do fine. Did not involve herself with the class at all, but was relatively helpful if you asked questions, although, almost impossible to get hold of outside of class. Overall, not a fantastic, but if you don't mind the notes, she's okay.
Great teacher and class. I learned a lot!! The class was easy if you took notes and studied. I don't understand why students complain. Note taking is part of college/university life. People who have trouble with this class should rethink attending university.
Linda is an awesome teacher and a complete sweetheart... Ive taken 2 courses with her so far and plan on taking more. Lectures are mandatory, take good notes! you don't really need to read the text except for background information. overall: LOVED HER!
This class is a MUST! Very interesting class. It is SOO much more intersting than the Douglas Calendar Desription of it. If you are taking the other 2 Religion Courses, take this. Linda has an awesome teaching style, learned a lot, watched videos, VERY interesting tangents as always, tells you stuff other instructors won't,material is very relevant
It was a very good course! It was very organized so I didn't know much about western religions but I could grasp what they are like. Also she made me more interesting in religions. It might be a little bit tough to take notes, but as long as you attend every class I think you will be alright. She is kind and always helpful.
It's very interesting. It was a little bit unorganized but I think it was because of the first time she offered this course. She's always willing to answer questiongs and knows a lot about what she's teaching. Although this course doesn't need any prerequisits, I recommend to take either HUMS 1171/1172 or you have strong interest in the stuff.

she was a cute teacher. the notes were unorganized but it was the first time she taught the class and there was so much to cover. she knew a lot about the stuff she was talking about. a very interesting person too.
Linda is awesome! She is very well versed in what she's teaching, down to earth and sweet. Her class is difficult if you don't show up for lectures because we didn't use the textbook all that much. Very interesting class and man, she has got it going on in the looks department! :) She can be scatterbrained but I found it endearing. Loved her!
She is amazing! Listening of her lectures was one of the best fun I've ever had! She's smart and really passionate about her subjects. However, you have to know everything what she lectures about. There is not much use for textbook.
She is super interesting, and made class super fun. Learnt so much from her. She is very passionate about what she teaches and simply just wants to share her knowledge with the world. She is a very easy marker.
Linda's an interesting prof and the subject is quite fascinating. Her lectures are anything but dull, but! be prepared to take lots of notes; it's an information overload at times. if you take this course there's too much information to absorb in 3 hour sessions. if you can, go for the two-classes-a-week option.
1171/2.Seems scatterbrained, but LOVES her subject and makes it very interesting. Be prepared to take LOTS of notes! Tends to jump from one topic to another, but tests are short and not hard. Half MC, half SA. Only one assignment, an MLA paper. Fun to write, and she marks easily and fairly. NEVER skip class, you'll miss a lot. Textbook unnecessary.
So much fun to listen to but not good for teaching. Agree, scatterbrained. Not enough direction. Seemed more interested in promoting her own endeavors than teaching a class. Although I didnt like her teaching style her storytelling skills are off the hook.
Passionate and excited when teaching her subject. Went two courses without using the text and I got B in her class, so not necessary. Had a good 30-40 minute nap when she showed old-school videos, but lectures are always interesting and doesnt use powerpoint, which is a nice change. Is unlcear and indecisive at times, but recommend her nonetheless!
Bizarre teacher. You'll take lots of notes, laugh a lot about inappropriate things, be slightly offended (she did Hindu accents mockingly while an Indian students was in class), and is really anti-christian. Her midterm is ridiculous, so study for that, but its easy from there on. I liked her in the end, but dont go if youre a fundamental christian
I don't understand how she's allowed to teach the way she does. We had no textbook, powerpoint or overheads, so our entire course was what came out of her mouth with nothing to verify it by. Plus with the tangents she goes on, its impossible to tell what the course material is. she also called in sick for the last 4 wks of class and didn't makem up
I have never had a teacher that is so unorganized. I feel that Dr. Christensen did not prepare adequately for lectures. The lectures were hard to follow due to long tangents, and she was late/missed several classes. Her grading methods were incomprehensible. The only part of this class I liked was the subject material.
Lectures are interesting and helpful so make sure to attend. Sometimes she does say bizarre things but at least it makes class interesting. However, she didn't need to mock Indian accents, it was really immature.
I enjoyed the course but I'd probably second guess her sanity. Really nice, but her lectures are sometimes hard to follow, which can make tests hard because everything is based on lectures. I was also shocked by her Indian accents, but then again, I don't think she really realized it would be offensive.. Overall, easy course if you pay attention.
Her classes are definitely entertaining. Textbook is basically useless, all her tests are based solely on lectures. If you take really good notes and then rewrite them you will get an A on the tests
I LOVE HER! You dont even need to purchase a textbook, all tests are solely on her lectures. Her tests are based on exactly what she writes on the board. I took both of her classes and got a good mark. A lot of memorization.
Very interesting instructor. Definitely unorthodox. The topic might bore the heck out of you but Linda is so animated that you can't help but pay attention to what comes out of her mouth. Takes attendance. Fair marker. 1 (easy) presentation worth 20%. Overall, I wouldn't mind taking another class with her again.
all over the place! Hard to follow from her jumping from one topic from the next.
If you want a class with a clearly defined structure, this is not for you. She is all over the place and the exams are hard to prepare for. She's interesting, sure, but not a good teacher. Seems like she didn't prepare and just threw things together. Plus, she doesn't do email.
Absolutely useless. Exams are completely random, as are her notes. She refused to use anything electronic to utilize her teaching methods, and furthermore she actually makes points about how hard her class is. An example :"You guys thought this would be an Easy A! LOL". it's ridiculously unprofessional and I would advice no one to take her class.
Linda is a very animated and interesting prof. She teaches through talking primarily so just listen and take notes on everything she emphasizes. Ocassional old video not worth staying for. Most of the tests are based on lecture. Fair marker. One essay. Oriental Religion Studies course.
I loved her! Quite entertaining to watch. Don't be surprised if she kicks her shoes off in the middle of lecturing or imitates all different types of animas. write down what she does on the white board and that's the only material you need to memorize for the exams. Took both of the religions classes with her at Douglas.
Terrible teacher. Do not take this the exams are something that cannot be prepared for as she is all over the place and some things on the exam she hasn't even talked about! I was forced to retake a exam because I left so many blanks clueless. Do not recommend.
I just finished a semester with Linda in Eastern Religions. She is an amazing teacher, full of life and energy. She opened my eyes and heart to other cultural beliefs, and traditions. She is an excellent teacher that cares about her students. I would absolutely take another class from her. She is a genuine nice caring women. I really enjoyed class.
To be honestly ,although i get a B+ , her teaching is a bit not organized. Her mid terms base on her lecture note, your textbook basic useless so i don't recommend you to buy it. You have to be interested in religious otherwise you will fail or get C range.
Most worthless teacher I've ever had. She openly mocks any beliefs that differ from her own and she essentially tries to force her religion down your throat. She's a disorganized mess and her exam is extremely hard to study for. Instead of a textbook we had to buy a portion of her doctoral dissertation which is about as helpful as a bag of rocks.
Her teachings are all over the place and pretty rushed. If you're late to class, you will not understand anything and will be really confused! Get ready to take lots of notes and listen! Also she's very hard to contact outside of class!! Even though her teaching style is messy and unorganized, she's an interesting person.
While the topics of Religion that she taught were very interesting she was caught in her own storm of confusing. Almost every lecture she would be all over the place and even confuse herself. Her tests are the same as her teaching. Good Luck
Linda can be very eccentric in her teaching style. Her class, exams and papers are purely based off of her lectures. Did not need to buy the book at all. No final exam for HUMS 1172 only a heavy term paper. Has a tendency to do East Indian and East Asian accents which might come off as offensive to some.
Linda is an amazing prof. I took all 3 RELG classes with her. She's an extremely easy marker for papers and presentations (A's usually). I agree with others, she is a little bit confusing at times but she explains the main topics and points you need to know for exams, and its up to the student to organize their notes in a way they can understand.
She's funny and very inspirational, but all over the place.
I thought Linda was a little crazy at first but really, she's just passionate about the subject. Be prepared to attend class and take lots of notes, especially for the midterm. Average for the midterm was barely a pass but other than that, very lenient with marking and not hard to get good marks.
She's a bit odd but she's extremely charismatic and her lectures are awesome. I could listen to her talk about gravel for three hours and I'd still be listening intently. I didn't buy the textbooks but I got an A just from taking notes. Don't miss any classes.
Linda is a wonderful prof, I really liked her. There is no mid-term or final, only quizzes and a paper. She is a very funny woman and I enjoyed her lectures (they might seem long for some). She is really passionate about what she teaches. I would take other courses with her.
Linda is a very passionate teacher - even if none of her students know what the heck is going on. Very interesting class, but she gets off topics and go through slides too fast and doesn't post them online. Lenient marker - very helpful and will work with you through whatever problems you have.
Linda is a wonderful professor, i enjoyed every single one of her classes. Her notes are easy to follow, however, it was a bit of a challenge to write it down as she always uses arrows to connect her points. Textbook was not used at all. Tests are based on her notes and lectures. Definitely would take again.
Really nice person and very passionate. Her lectures are next to impossible to follow though. She scribbles all over the board at a fast pace and doesn't seem to have much structure to the class. The assigned research paper is HUGE for an intro class and you are not prepared in the slightest for it. really nice person, not a good professor though.
Linda was a great prof I took her for World Religion Oriental and Occidental. Both easy A's. It's a really good class if you're great at writing notes because she bases her tests on her own notes, so no need to buy the textbook. Although she is hard to follow sometimes since her lecture style is so unstructured, she is entertaining to watch!
Her lectures bounced all over the place (no slides) and made it difficult for me to take notes. I didn't really know what to focus on when studying for tests. There was one paper where you could choose your own topic, which I found easy, but no clear guidelines. If you don't follow along well with straight lectures I wouldn't recommend this class.
Amazing prof and lectures are interesting but if you miss a class, good luck getting back on track. Doesn't use the textbook at all, everything is based off of the notes she scribbles on the board. Useless asking her for help, all she said was to ask a classmate. Make sure you make a few friends in this class cause Christensen wont help at all.
Textbook should not be on the list for required things. Tests are all purely based on her lectures and if you miss a class, you're hooped. Tests are very specific, although she sometimes isn't. A very nice person, not a good prof. Lectures are quick paced and scribbled on the board most of the time. Powerpoints are barren and not all that helpful.
Linda's passionate about religion & an amazing, energetic lecturer. Yes, you have show up, pay attention & take notes to pass but hey... it's called being a student. She tries to connect with students & provides field trips. Not the most difficult material but you do have to try. If you want an 'easy A' with no effort you shouldn't be in college.
Unreal prof teaching really important content. Highly recommend. Come to class with an open mind. She has a ton of amazing life experience and knowledge to share. Watched some really cool documentaries on the occult, Wicca and Alchemy. Really fun class.
Crazy heavy lectures with 0 important information to do with the exams. This is very frustrating as she is barely helpful at all. If you need these courses, take them elsewhere. A humanities prof should not have 20+ people in one class angry about a test
Linda, love to teach and loves her students. New Religious Movement was a fun class and very interactive. We had to do a book report, essay, and presentation. It is cool that they have a course that I have a strong interest in, and Linda is an expert in the field. It did not feel like class. Linda cared more about what her students learn.
She is one of the worst professors I have ever had and if you desperately want or need to take a Religions course, find a different professor. Her lectures are confusing and all over the place, she provides no slides and her notes are a scribbled, unorganized mess. Also, buying the textbook was just a waste of money and paper.
Her passion for the subject is inspriring and if I was taking this class for fun I would have no issue. Unfortunately, as a prof teaching a class I had issues. The lectures are scattered and go off on tangents, making attaining a good grade on tests difficult. When the majority of the class barely passes or fails, it's the prof not the students.
Linda is a fun and interesting lecturer. If this class had not been for marks I would have attended just to listen. BUT her tests do not reflect what she lectures, she spends 90% of class on tangents and then tests on material she covered for 10% of the time. If the majority fails she doesn't think it reflects on her. No notes posted online.
Awesome professor i have ever met.
Awesome Prof
Linda's passion is religion, shes very animated and will often act out a scene. Shes a very easy marker when it comes to written assignments and projects. If I have any complaints its her tests, because she often goes off topic we sometimes miss important parts of a lecture and of course that missed part will still be on the test.
Linda is a great teacher. She has a lot of heart for what she teaches and understandably so. If you pay attention to her class and watch her videos then you'll be able to get a lot deeper with yourself and question things around the world.
Linda is one of the most inspiring and caring professors I have ever had the pleasure of being taught by. She cares about her students and always ensures everyone is happy. She is super personable which is an important quality for a Professor to have as she understands that life outside of class isn't always easy for everyone. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
One of the best lecturers. Tests are solely based on her lectures, so don't waste your time on the textbook.
Dr. Christensen is such an interesting professor, you wont find any other like her! Don't worry about the textbook, you wont need it. The exams are solely based on her lectures which now thanks to online learning and covid are available on her YouTube channel! Make good notes and study the work, the majority of your grade is compiled of exams.
Seems very passionate about the course itself. No examples or information on what to expect for tests, little explanation on assignment instructions. Textbook is useless for the course and her lack of organization in her lectures made studying for her test impossible. Test content was almost non-applicable to lecture slides she gave us.
Seemed interesting at the beginning of the course, however, as it progressed, the course got difficult to decipher what was going to be on the test, and what was part of her usual tangents.
She is nice and passionate about the course. However, don't bother buying a textbook as it's not needed for the course. Lectures are not structured which made it hard to understand what she was saying. She also wrote on the boards with a bunch of scribbles that were hard to read, it was hard to know what to study because lectures were so broad.
dont bother buying the textbook, she doesnt reference it at all through the semester. if the class does poorly on an exam, she will blame them and doesnt think its anything she does wrong. try to pay attention as she talks at you and rambles for three hours because what she says will be on the exam. seemingly doesnt care about her students
I do not recommend taking this course with her. Lectures are mandatory yet very little information talked about is actually on the tests. So much content but very short tests so your knowledge on the topics are not accurately reflected. She does not care or see a problem that the majority of students don't pass.
Knowledgable, enthusiastic, interesting classes. Sometimes the amount of information was overwhelming. It wasn't clear what to pay attention to for exams. Textbook wasn't used. Some exam questions were barely covered in class, or in one case terminology was very different from what was taught. Several trick questions on exam also. Mixed feelings.
Linda has a very "old-school" style of teaching with dense lectures, lots of content and not a lot of opportunities to ask questions. You can tell she's passionate and super knowledgeable and just wants to share everything she knows with her students. It's definitely not everyone's preferred style of learning, but she's a great teacher.
I also had her for 1101. She's very enthusiastic about what she teaches. I didn't use the textbook at all, and her syllabus was not helpful. Assignment and essay instructions and details were never clear. It literally tells you, okay you have an essay due this day, but it wouldn't tell you specifics about formatting/citing, word/page count, etc.
She is a nice person and it was nice being in her class. However, her class is really difficult to get a good grade in. There is no textbook and all the tests are open book. So you only have your notes but they do not help you, and i wrote notes constantly for 3 hours a class. There is no way to study for the tests and they drop your grade
Ditzy professor. Her teaching method is confusing and messy. Prepare to self-teach.
The worst professor I have ever had the displeasure of learning from. If it is possible not to take her course, do not take it. I cannot state how bad she is at teaching. The only way for you to gain marks is to do well on the tests.
She cancels class and give you no clear outline on what's important for each religions exam. Get ready to self teach yourself entire units because she's tweaking so hard she can't even form proper sentences. It's impossible to follow her lectures. She spent 30 minutes berating our class because no one was paying attention to her irrelevant tangent.
Currently taking the course. Said we needed the textbook but just used her online Covid lectures for our material. She is always going off on tangents so I never know what we should write down for the test. Hard for a first year course & gives VERY little time to complete them. She is wacked out tbh I would never recommend anyone to take her class.
Do not take her courses. She is so passionate about the course that it is a problem. She goes off on random tangents, and will even disrespect students. Lecture material is so broad that the exams are practically impossible to study for; she does not provide any study guides or information about the exam. She also does not provide any rubrics.AVOID
She is unorganized, unprofessional, and lacks teaching skill that makes you wonder how she is still teaching. Unfair testing system. Never references the textbook. Only way to pass is by heavily self-teaching.
goes off on tangents frequently but just focus on the big ideas of each lecture and you'll be fine. Tests are very straightforward, questions are directly related to the material with no tricks. Don't buy textbook, her lectures are all you need to do well in this class
at the start of the course, she said she was going to make it intentionally hard for us because college is too soft and we aren't learning as much, but shes over 65 years old and college tuition is 350 when in the 90's it was 150 $. so i feel that her making it hard makes no sense, because her lectures sometimes don't show up on the tests.
She is a wingnut, she plays favourites and her exams are ridiculously hard. She tells very weird stories and generally just boomer's all over the place with her tangents about technology being the downfall of man blah blah blah. Claims she saw people levitate, speaks with spirits and is the reincarnation of her grandfather. Don't waste your time.
Professor Christensen demands a lot, but the course material is interesting. Attend all lectures and use unstuckstudy and the textbook to prepare - it helps make the exams more manageable.
