I took her for a summer class... I learned a lot but shes insanely hard. She likes to say "braggadosio" (if thats how you spell it). You'll learn a lot but give yourself tons of study/paper time

Research writing is a hard class to take and Ms. Clary doesn't make it easy for you. She is extremely helpful and she's not intimidating if you have stupid questions to ask. My writing has definitely improved with her as my teacher.

Ms. Clary gets a bad rap for being "hard" or "mean", but she isn't either. She is an excellent teacher. She is of the same caliber as university professors, so community college students rate her badly. She will prepare you for higher level classes and will teach you to write. All of the negative ratings are probably from slackers.

For all those students who say that Ms. Clary is too hard and/or unfair I have to say that I STRONGLY DISagree! After busting my butt for the whole semester (Spring of 2005), I can honestly say that now that I am in the Undergraduate program at UMBC her research class has made my academic life 1000x BETTER!! I would thank again if I could.

Ms. Clary is a great teacher. She knows her stuff and expects you to as well. She really has the students interrest at heart. She may talk about herself but it's only because she is inspired by her upbringing and proud of her accomoplishments. She has alot to offer not just with English skills!!!

Great English teacher. She does pile on the work and it makes you feel she doesnt think you have other classes to attend to. She is helpful..this is not a class for slackers and she has no problem letting you know from day one. My suggestion take her if you reallly want to learn something and be challenged.

Slackers be warned! This class is NOT easy, you will do A LOT of work and it WILL be difficult. Although, Ms. Clary is a very helpful teacher and if you do have a problem she will be more than grateful to help you. She does come off a little mean but if you stay with the class you will find she is not that way at all.

If you want to slap papers together for a semester then don't take Clary. If you'd like to learn how to construct a good paper TAKE Clary. Her instruction will make the rest of your college career ten times easier.

I am attending Ms.Clary's class right now. i think she is very helpful and goes over thinks clearly, making sure to work with her students so that their are no questions.she is hard but that is what we need.I've gotten 1 a and the rest B's on all of my papers. im an cery proud to have such a wonderful english teacher.

Ms. Clary's class is so freaking hard. If you have a lot of time on your hands you can do it pretty easily.. but if you don't you're going to have a hard time writing all the assignments you're given. The pile ups are insane. Although it is difficult as poo, you'll come out of the class ready to write papers for future class well..

Shes intimadating; dont let the first class scare you into droping it. This class has a heavy work load, its not for those who like to bs assignments. However she is the most helpfull teacher i have ever had, and if you listen, follow directions, and put effort into your work you'll walk out of the class prepaird for the rest of your college career

Ms. Clary is a little verbose and can at times need a humility check, but aside from some minor presonality quirks, I wouldn't recommend any other teacher. Clary's paradigms are "gold" as she likes to call them and her essays really gave me a mental work out.I feel excitement over the semesters to come now, and not I am not intimidatd at all.

She was spiteful and mean. Not at all flexible, did not seem interested in helping her students. Forgetful. The thing I remember most about her class is her nastiness and narcissist attitude.

I realized I liked this class-once it was over. She's great, but the work load is atrocious. She says you should not wait till the night before, and you shouldn't-you'll be majorly stressed from all the work and pressure. I say suck it up and take her-I learned so much. and her stories are great-they took up half the class :)!

Ms. Clary is very honest about the workload for this course ? it is extensive. However, I feel that I am prepared to handle any research paper assigned, primarily because of the organization skills that I learned from this instructor. The syllabus is comprehensive and the handouts are invaluable ? I have kept all of them to help with future classes

Hard teacher, very strict, but she was one of my favorite teachers ever. Everytime i walk out of her classroom "i feel like i got my moneys worth". GREAT TEACHER!! although its a challege.

First, college classes are not intended to be easy. The work load is normal for a college class. I don't like english classes, so I didn't like the class. Though, I learned a lot and Mrs. Clary is very nice and helpful. Do the assignments on time.

Okay..I absolutely love this lady! I've had her for both English 101 and English 109 and she a great teacher. She pretty much is the reason I take the thirty minute drive to Harford. I've never been more challenged in my life, but in a good way. When I took her semester and got that A-I was OMG. She's amazing, and you'll learn a lot from her.

I must say one of the most difficult teachers I have ever had. Her papers were awfully challenging, yet she laid them out perfectly. I wouldn't recommend this class to someone who prefers to have a more creative writing approach. If you enjoy writing hard essays that deal with topics you cannot control, there is no better teacher out there.

REALLY good teacher, work is hard, but I guarantee you it can get done and you'll walk away feeling like a million buck. Very easy to talk to, kind, and gives a lot of extra time, and dedication to her students. Has a great personality and sense of humor is great despite her appeal. I would highly recommend, you'll learn a lot.

An absolute favorite for me and my classmates. She's tough, but it's only because she truly aims high for her students. She has opened my mind to things I never thought I could do. A wonderful teacher and kind person.

Here's the key to a good grade: show up, pay attention, make a good 1st impression, and take your papers to the writing center. She give's you a "paradigm," or set order in which she wants you to write papers, so you really shouldn't mess that part up. Is understanding of a a couple missed classes/late papers but spots slackers easily.

Easily, Research Writing is the most useful class I have taken. But it is definitely not easy.(READ THE SYLLABUS!!) She teaches you to write well, but she also pushes you to provide quality information with every single assignment. If you can survive Mrs. Clary in any class, you'll be WELL prepared for the rest of your undergrad education.

I took her for Eng 101 and liked her so much i took her again for 109. She is very difficult but i seriously have learned how to write any kind of paper thrown at me. She is very understanding of everything too. I recommend her if you want to actually learn and become a better writer.

Upon first taking this class I was very skeptical I thought this would be a hard class to pass..... I heard so many opinions of ms clary of of which I forgot about on the first day and thanks to her research writing class I have grown to ABSOLUTELY LOVE writing and writing a paper has no longer became the dreaded part of the semester.

I'll be honest, when I walked in on the first day and sat down I thought she was going to be mean, but once I got to know her I found out that she's really friendly and helpful. She's very concerned about helping people to get high grades in the class. She's an excellent teacher, I would definitely recommend her class.

Mrs. Clary at first glance is an incredibly intimidating woman , her course is extremely organized and its no walk in the park , however you will learn so much and your ability to write a paper will skyrocket. Day one she scared me a little. But I have to say by far the best teacher I've ever had. She is well organized and meticulous but very good at what she does. Hint of advice don't wait to do anything she gives you the materials from the get go so start sooner rather than later.

The first day her class I was totally frightened. I thought that I was gonna fail. But she explained every thing in detail. Her assignments were hard. She graded hard. But I passed the class and was so happy. Ever since I have taken her class, I have written papers for other classes very affluently. I would recommend taking her.

Extremely overwhelming class. She is the hardest teacher I've had in a long time, but I learned so much helpful info, making it worth it. Go to class and use your book, it helps with citations. Ask a lot of questions because everything has to be perfect. Dont do your projects last minute.

Welcome to the real world. Ms.Clary is preparing you for what is to come. She wants you to do well, after all, your performance is a reflection of her teaching abilities. She wants you to be well prepared for what is to come! Between me you and the fence post, she's a real sweetheart, all you got to do is try. She will be there for you.

This class is not a walk in the park. You have to put some serious effort into this class. BUT- She is more than willing to help her students to succeed. She's very organized, handouts are crystal clear, bring your books to class, read what she wants you to read, do your work and ask for help if you need it.She was awesome. Would take her again!

The class itself is not too difficult, nor is the teacher. She is demanding, she expects the best of you, and she WILL hold you to a higher standard than you hold yourself. However if you want to do good in the class all you have to do is ASK and TRY! She will do anything and everything in her power to help you succeed; you just have to want it.

Not a difficult course once you learn her style. She is a tough grader. Sticking to her format is the key. The formal academic writing techniques that she taught me had an immediate payoff in another class and made my life immensely easier. I'm sure I'll have similar payoffs in the future. I would take her again.

I am now a Graduate student at Towson University and she is still the best professor I have ever had. Her work is hard, yes, but she will challenge you, encourage you, and push you to your full potential. This lady is more than a professor, she is an angel.

Mrs. Clary was awesome! She does not let you slack, she had a paradigm for EVERYTHING (which I didn't always understand, but she'll explain and break it down), and she is very giving of her time. If you get your work done early and want her to pregrade it, she will and she'll explain to you what you could do better. Truly my favorite professor!
