Too little too late is all I have to say. And your jokes are NOT funny! Now for the students: her personality just erked me so then it was all downhill from there.
Seems like a nice lady, but hard to follow at times and horrible handwriting. Always seems willing to help after class or during office hours. Take good Notes!
I love her! She is funny and clear. She has bad handwriting, but it is readable. Very willing to help after class. Very fun!
Shows everything step by step. very willing to explain.
Didn't like her!
Good Class if you are bad at math.
very willing to explain if you don't understand. shows every step
COULD NOT UNDERSTAND HER... i felt like i had adult ADD...sat in the front but no help.. mostlikely less than 1/2 the class made it to the FINAL. she is a stickler about showing all your work correctly for full credit..
Great teaher. She explains the material well, and is very willing to help after class. She is very picky about showing all the work on tests.
cannot read a single thing she is writting on the board-awful handwritting! Also her grading system is totaly out of wack.
they're right her grading scale sucks and she seems very rude when you come to her after class far help.
grading system is fine. must show every step. so fun!
so cool! very funny. if you like to havefun in class, take her. made everyone laugh
wont take her again
I have ADD and am not on any medication and still passed her class with a B+. Great teacher that loves her job. Explains things very clearly, but does require that all work be shown.
she is very tough, she grades tough also. Her tests are extremely difficult. But she is funny and nice, but she will get your tail if you cut up in her class or whine...everyone is correct she is a stickler for showing all steps.
I have to have a 99 on the final just to pass this class with a C. She grades very tough, she doesn't give an inch. She checks through your work and even if you got the answer correct, but messed up somewhere,it will be marked wrong.don't take her....
She has a good sense of humor in class but does not seem willing to bend on tests or questions she marks wrong-even when you get the answer right. I did not care for her grading system. What would have been a B+ in most classes became a C- in hers.
explains good taked the time to help in office hours but is tough when it comes to grade
I had trouble on the tests and her grading scale is hard, but whenever I had a question to ask, she would always be in her office after class. she would spend as long as it took for you to understand the material, and passed her class with a C.
She is a good teacher and I have recommended her to others.
nice teacher. really tough on grading, make sure you always show all of your steps or you wont get full credit. if you show steps and get it wrong, you get partial credit. go to class everyday, you get extra credit on tests for that section. good overall
very very good teacher, she explkaines verything very well, helps you on your home work anything you wnat she will explain it, just do the home wokr and you will do well, i got an A in trignometry and i thought she was the best
I am not good at math at all, and I got a B in her class. She does an awesome job of making you understand and learn the material. you get points for doing home work and she has a very clear and effective way of teaching. she's a tough grader
She makes every aspect of the class understandable. She keeps the attention of everyone in the room through her energeticness. When she begins a lesson she gradually step by step tries to make you learn it. She gives clear examples and she always is prepared for class.
She's a great teacher w/ a good sense of humor. She makes it plain and easy to understand. She also dedicates time after class if you need help. I've recommeded her to lots of people.
she has a very good class. she is kinda hard but she makes sure everyone understand what they are doing and she is helpful.
Great teacher, very helpful. I would recommend her to anyone that is not strong in math.
Dr. Clemons is an ok teacher, but I found her confusing and frustrating at times. If you were one second late your homework didn't count for anything, no matter how long you spent on it.
Dr. Clemons is a good teacher. If you have trouble in math, I wouldn't take her though. Can be confusing at times. Tests are sometimes not clear. Overall, you have to work hard and be in class to get a good grade.
very nice teacher... The tests are easy. She is intertaining. And a great teacher.
she is really strict and gives homework every class, and "group worksheet" which you have to do with other people outside class(which are worth lots of points) tests are hard and never cover the material.i dont recommend this teacher.
Easy class. She offers help whenever students need it. She makes the most hilarious jokes, that no one else seemed to laugh at. :(
She was not a good teacher. She confused me more and more as the class went on. She is really strict and theres a lot of homework. I would not recommend taking her. I dropped her class.
she haggled me over a few points on quizes, but she teaches everything clearly, if you go to class then you will do alright if you have a functioning brain
She goes off on too many tangents.
This teacher chooses who she wants to pick on in the class. She has a tendency to be rude and dishonest so dont get her!
Professor Clemons was awesome. She took all the time you needed of her to explain something to you if you didn't understand. If you like teachers like this I would advise you to take her. Don't know about all these negative comments, but she was more than willing to assist wherever she was needed and offer advice to help better your grades.
She seemed like an OK teacher. I passed with a c- she is a stickler for showing work i had a 94 on a test, but since i didnt show work i got a 24, she wouldnt even give me partial credit. also she seems like she is on speed, way to excitable for me. tries to be witty, but everyone just laughed at her.
She's o.k. Her test are confusing in format and questioning. She doesn't really slow down enough to listen to questions, whatever you do, do not talk during class to anyone but her, she will embarrass you.
Dr. clemons was such a great techer. the class was a good, she's a little scater brained sometimes, but is really helpful. the tests are ok, but you have to show work. and homework is a must, it will bring you grade down if you don't do it. she gives extra credit on tests if you don't miss any days before the test. shes cool and made me laugh. :)
She is awesome. She is always willing to help. Grades homework so your grade doesnt just reflect on exams and her final is stuff exactly from her tests. I passed the final with a 97(and I suck at math) because I memorized all the other tests I took. I wish she was teaching MAC1105 cause she would be my first choice!
Terrible teacher. Nice but doesnt explain clearly and is not very helpful outside of class. She is quite annoying too but can be sweet when she wants to.
It is no coinsidence that her name rhymes with LEMONS. She is a SOUR person. She is not willing to help at all, if you go to her office hours she will simply say "go to the math lab" and shoo you out the door.
man it is too late to drop her but boy does she suck. she teaches to herself. she is like my high school history teacher looking out the window and talking to no one. do nt take her if you want a good grade
Great teacher, friendly, and accomodating. Only energetic math professor I have ever seen. You don't belong in college if you fail her class. Easy straight-forward tests too.
She is energetic.you can get easy points, don't b late.adds little hard things 2 remember on tests.wastes time in class, you'll see.does mostly stick to material.but the CD that comes with book is at times better than her lectures!!Has 4 class projects that are due right before her tests!test are toooooo long!
Clemons teaching is pretty bad. She goes off track way too easily, is very unclear in her lectures, she mumbles quietly and is very hard to understand. She forces the class into groups, and certain grades are dependent on how the group performs. In a math course, this only alienates certain students who prefer to learn on an individual basis.
Dr. Clemons is a hard ass, but don't let that deter you from taking her class. She is an amazing teacher. Granted you have to have some desire to take math and some desire to actually want to learn the subject, but Dr. Clemons is a good teacher and a good lady.
This class was ridiculously easy. Anyone who said she's hard must not have a high comprehension for math. Doesn't take attendance and homework is optional. She's super easy if you've already taken College Algebra and have a moderate understand of the subject. She laughs randomly and is very funny! You'll know exactly how you're doing in the class.
She is a very good teacher and very helpful.
Great professor! she very clear on what she wants. she gives reviews on what exactly will be on her test. She jokes around once in a while! Take this prof.!
Awsome teacher!Shes kooky but cheerful and always cracking jokes.I found her class very easy, but some students seemed to have a hard time because she teaches kind of fast. But shes always willing to answer questions and help outside of class.Just do all the work for easy credit and do the study guides to help with test.I definitly recommend her!
EXTREMELY easy class. She doesn't take attendance- which is great because you can teach yourself this stuff. But she is a good teacher...do the homework- even if you feel like you're back in elementary school.
If you are not strong at math, attendence in mandatory. But she is an excellent teacher. This class is in no way easy. You have to do the work, but an A is possible. Be prepared to study. But she gives you a lot of chances to drop low grades. You can drop 2 out of 7 quizzes, and lowest test. Homework suggested but not collected.
She is impossible. She will nit pick at every problem on the test. DO NOT TAKE HER. I carry a 3.6gpa and she killed it. Even if you get the right answer she will mark it wrong. Not possible to get an A.
Even if all of your answers are correct, she'll find a reason to take points off. She knows her stuff, but teaches a bit fast and will tell you to go to the mathlab if you need help. The book is awful. Be prepared to memorize all the formulas too.
Mrs. Clemons is a teriffic teacher. She gives help always when you need it and she explains things the wasy way, not the hard way like most professors. She is also great on her grading...better take her because there is none like her. I made an A in her class and she also gives extra credit if you are failing...but, you will not fail!!!
Really funny and easy. I never went to class the last two weeks of Summer A and ended up with a B, could have had an A easily had I not been so lazy!
Dr Clemons made math not suck!
Honestly Dr. Clemons was great! She'll help you out if you don't understand. She likes when people participate in class. Attendance is mandatory, but if your there shes gives you extra credit on the test. She also checks homework, which isn't that hard. She's really nice and caring. Oh and she tries to make jokes, but usually they're not that funny
Shes big on following directions, like on her worksheets she'll take off points if you don't follow the directions. She's really nice though and she tries to cover everything atleast once for everyone, she also likes when people have questions. Overall shes great you should deffinately take her class!
I took this class for TOPIC of MATH. This Teacher was awesome. Very helpful and very funny, she keeps the class interesting while helping you learn the material so you can pass the class. :) I loved her!
Very clear instruction on all assignments.
OMG. the BEST math teacher in SFC by far. effn trust me. trust me, believe me. i got an A, an A. dont miss class n ull get an A. dont need book. just need pencil n graphin calculator n ur good. trust me, u dont need a book. she'll give u hand out. n u study that. trust me.
not that funny but always upbeat. Doesnt collect homework. Her grading style is a little sketchy she likes to mark off for the tiniest things and she insnt that clear in her directions.
marks off for TINY things. seriously, on tests, a 100 is nearly impossible. quizzes are pretty easy, and she lets you drop 2 quizzes and a test. no extra credit opportunities, though. she's not super clear in class, and is sometimes impolite when answering questions. but I did alright in her class, despite her picky grading.
Prof. Clemmons is a nice lady. As a teacher, she does not make attendance mandatory and lets you drop 2 quizzes out of 7 and 1 test out of 4. Homework not madatory, but that means quizzes and tests are a bigger part of your grade. She will take off points for small things, so make sure you know your sutff and don't make careless errors. :)
This is an excellent Math teacher! She is kind and professional, she wants everyone to understand the material and succeed. Quizzes and tests are pretty easy if u come to class and pay attention.
Nice and helpful. Class is kinda dull but i hate math.
Dr. Clemons is a great prof. Yes, she is tough, but she is very fair. She lets you know what she will mark off for, like not writing a step for log probs, so there is no excuse for forgetting that. She has reviews and teaches with handouts. One of the easiest math courses I've ever had, and I still learned everything I needed for calculus.
Very nice teacher. Very funny. She makes sure she clarifies things and she's very helpful. Good teacher
great math teacher, she is very helpful in her office and during class. attendance is not required because she just uses handouts for notes, and she'll give you one later. textbook is not necessary, just study and practice examples on the handouts and you will receive an "A" The only bad thing is, she will mark off 1/2 points for not showing work!
Very Good Teacher. Very helpful. No calculators, but makes tests easy enough to not need one. Take her if you can.
She's a pretty good teacher, but she has one issue. She's kind of nit-picky on the work and stuff. She'll mark you off if you write the wrong thing in the work or are missing even one step. She'll mark off really tiny things in your work that don't really matter. It gets really annoying. So only take her class if you pay attention to the details
mrs. clemons made this class surprisingly easy. the handouts she gives you make great study guides, so you don't really need the book. she can seem a little snippy sometimes, but overall a good teacher. i studied and got an A in the class. and although attendance isnt madatory, you should go to class otherwise when you go back you'll be lost.
I LOVE Ms. Clemons! she makes math easy and understandable. she takes the time to make and print out handouts of the chapters so you dont have to carry around your book. she thoroughly explains everything and is very helpful in her office hours! quizzed and test are straight forward. i would very highly recommend her :)
Good teacher. Very thorough and clear. Grading can be hard and very precise, but overall this is a great class.
AMAZING teacher! Class is very easy, she is understanding and funny...Two lowest quiz grades dropped, and one lowest test grade dropped! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
excellent teacher would recommand her to anyone drops 2 lowest quizzes and one test grade attendance not mandatory but if u dont attend class u wont know whats on the quizzes also hmwork not mandatory but helps prepare u for test extremly helpful and very humorous has a wonderful personality really cares about her students
she is really nice and if you go to office hours ever extremely helpful. however, be careful to do every step on tests and quizzes, and don't ignore the way she wants you to do things. nit-picky grading, annoying to those that know how to do it a different way. she makes up for it by allowing you to drop two quizzes and one test though. overal good
She is very helpful, but the topic is not easy. If you are having trouble you MUST attend office hours because this class moves fast and it is easy to get behind. Also, do your homework if you are not great at math because it really helps.
Mrs Clemons is a good teacher. She makes the class laugh and helps us when we are not understanding
GREAT TEACHER. She tries to keep you awake and focused by being funny (and she succeeds). Tests and quizzes are straight forward and you will definitely do well if you go to class and do the homework (which is not mandatory). I definitely learned a lot from her and will be taking her for Trig. One of the best teachers I've ever had for math.
She is great! she always has lesson handouts which are extremley helpful if you write every step down. she goes a bit fast but she's always willing to repeat or after class answer your questions. theres no mandatory hw although she does issue hw to study. she is a bit stiff in grading but if you pay attention to her its a easy A-B. take no one else
I absolutely loved Mrs. Clemons. I took her T, TH class and found it hard to keep my attention on the lesson so I would definitely suggest taking it on MWF if possible. As long as you study the notes and do the optional homework she assigns, you will do great. This class does have a lot of memorization but she gives you all the eqtns for the final.
Mrs. Clemons puts a large emphasis on showing your work, to the point that simple problems become confusing. Missing even a simple = sign in your scratch work will result in point deductions. She will also joke about having to "run her red pen all over student papers". Lots of memorization, not recommended to math majors.
I adore Prof. Clemons! She was an amazing teacher! She is funny, grades fast, and is super helpful. She nenewed my spark for math. She is one of the best Prof. at Santa Fe by far!
Currently takng her MWF class, and it's goin' well(o far). She follows the syllabus and teaches at a moderate pace. Occasionally she will ramble about other stuff, but quickly returns to the topic at hand. Kind of silly/bubbly, but I always leave a class fairly certain about its lesson. If she teaches college algebra next sem. i'll take her again.
SHE IS AWESOME!! She is a tough grader when it comes to nit-picky details... BUT she does it so you don't miss steps later one in high Math classes. She WANTS you to LEARN it. Just take responsibility for your grade, because she gives you everything you need and all the help you want!
REALLY easy class. She pretty much gives you an easy A. She drops 3 quizzes and a test and if you come to class she gives you 5 extra credit points on your test. Offers extra study time outside of class with people if you want. SUPER easy! (doesn't use my mathlab either, so even better!)
Prof. Clemons is a good instructor. If you struggle in math I would recommend her class. She's very helpful. She sort of reminds me of a squirrel on crack, but she really does want you to pass.
Her tests come from her worksheets and quizzes. If you study that and go to class you can definitely get an A. Dr. is extremely helpful, if you go to her office hrs she will make sure that you leave understanding the material. She is also super funny and easy going. You will LOVE her :) cool beans??
What an AMAZING math teacher!! I cannot speak any more highly of any teacher I have ever had regarding the subject of math. She is clear she offers SO MUCH HELP outside of class and she is very fair with grading. I must INSIST you take her for Intermediate algebra!!
She is an amazing teacher, she explain really good and makes the class interesting and sometimes fun. If u have the oportunity to take class with her , do it!
This was a hard class because much is crammed into the semester. She is a great teacher that will help you outside the classroom and wants you to do well and understand math. But she DOES NOT give A's freely, you will work hard for them..But she is crystal clear with math and a great teacher..
She has helped me understand like no other math professor has! I am pretty bad at math, and I have an A in her class. Take her if you need good explanations.
She is very nice. She rambles in class a lot so it can make it seem very long. The class was difficult because there is a lot in one semester but she reviewed everything in a good order.
Prof. Clemons is a really good teacher! She goes in depth and you really learn the subject. She spends a lot of time explaining things. I've taken classes where I had no idea what as going on, but this was not the case, she explained everything very clearly. I highly recommend her, especially if you have trouble with math.
She is awesome. She gave our class handouts for each section she covered which is really helpful. She grades the homework which is due the class before the test but it can help out. She is very clear and gives 5 points extra if you come to each class before the test. I wish she was teaching College Algebra in the fall because I would take her.
Ms.Clemons is a GREAT teacher! I'm very bad at math and she always helps, esp in her office hours. Her exams come from her notes and she explains everything very throughly! She will go back and explain something if you don't understand. Cumulative final but its all the old test questions. LOVE her & would highly recommend!
Mrs.Clemons was a great teacher. Very informative and clear. Homework wasn't required. She gave a lot of extra help if you asked for it.
This is a Great professor to take if your not good in math. She works with you answer your questions and you don't have to take notes because she will have them printed out for you. If you come to class and do your homework you will pass. She also drops your three lowest quiz and one of you lowest test!!!! AND SHE IS AMAZINGLY FUNNY!!!!
She's an okay teacher until you don't do well on a test, she doesn't help you out. Most teachers do all they can to help you pass, but she doesn't budge. She also won't allow you to make up any tests if absent, even if you are sick with a doctors note or have a family emergency. She just gives you a zero. Don't take her, wouldn't recommend.
Mrs. Clemons is the BEST MATH teacher I have had at santa fe college. I wish I took her my last two math cls.And I wish she thought calculus. Wants students to come and ask question. explains the material crystal clear. She drops lowest test and three quizzes. All exams and the final are exactly like she said they would be and theres no surprises.
Mrs. Clemons is a funny teacher. You won't get bored when she's teaching. As long as you pay attention in class, do the homework (which is not mandatory), ask questions and go to her for help, you will pass the class! She's an excellent teacher. I strongly recommend taking her class.
SHE IS AN AWESOME MATH PROFESSOR!!! very outgoing and funny. Going to class is not mandatory but it is better to go because her notes will help you much better than the book. Her favorite saying, "COOL BEANS?" Overall the best math teacher at sf and she actually wants students to come to office hours and ask questions. A+++ teacher! :)
I loved Dr. Clemons! she was such a sweet lady who always tried to make the class laugh. She's really helpful and very clear. I was horrible at math in highschool but she really helped my this year and I actually understood what I was learning. TAKE HER!
This is amazing teacher. wants her students to succeed and she is more than willing to help with it. My only complaint is that because of the way Santa Fe has the Math classes set up, it makes the professors rush so it's had to keep up in class. Overall she is amazing and you can't go wrong with Dr. Clemons.
She is an incredible teacher. She is witty and energetic for an older lady and makes learning math actually seem enjoyable. Attendance is mandatory. She pushes everyone to succeed and won't let anyone fall behind. She's awesome!
Dr. Clemons is probable one of the best professor's I have had so far in my college experience she is attentive, diligent, and wants her students to succeed. She goes over each test and checks to see if you can receive credit because all of the work is done on a computer using a program called “My Math lab.” Dr. Clemons makes the effort to help.
She keeps you entertained and is really sweet! Ms. Clemons is always there if you have any questions.
Awesome teacher. She jokes around in class and helps you with all assignments. Math is not my thing and because of her I passed her class. She is the best math teacher I've ever had. I highly recommend her to anyone who is having troubles with math and has to take this class. I took it with a different teacher and failed but with her I passed.
Dr. Clemons is awesome. She teaches using her packet that has notes and examples from each chapter, which makes the class very clear and organized. 3 labs, 7 quizzes (2 dropped), and 4 exams (1 dropped). She is one of my favorite instructors ever, if not #1. Very good chance of earning an A, however I ended up with an 85 due to my own laziness.
The entire class is online so its not like she taught us everything that we needed to know, but compared to other teachers Dr. Clemons is great because she gives you review packets and she will help you understand the material in the math lab. I recommend Dr. Clemons
Wanna pass math with flying colors? Take Dr. Clemons. She works wonders. I took trig over the summer at 8 a.m everyday. It was worth getting up early. She's hyper and very funny. Hate the unit circle? She doesn't require you to memorize it. She has her own tricks to learning trig. I was very frightened to take this class, but wow it was easy!
took her spring 14. Really good professor, pretty clear in lectures. she's always adding jokes to her lectures, which makes them bearable, if you dont like math. class was pretty straightforward for me. HOMEWORK NOT GRADED. you should do it though! She likes what she does.
Ms. Clemons is awesome!! She's the BEST to take for math and gives very helpful tips, notes, and handouts. She cares about all of her students and is very very sweet. She explains the matirial very well and makes sure you suceed in her class!
Wouldn't recommend, she doesn't help you if you are failing, BIG on attendance.
Shes a really sweet lady. Sometimes she goes fast but she also says to speak up if there's something you don't get. I took the class with half in the class half in the studio- She doesn't have time to go over everything, so half the stuff you learn, you have to learn fast and the rest is on your own or in studio. Good luck!
Mrs. Clemons is an extremely sweet woman and she clearly knows a lot about pre-calculus. However, she has a very specific teaching style that would've pushed me away from her had I known about it before class. She teaches entirely from worksheets so if this is not your style, steer clear.
AWESOME TEACHER REALLY HELPS YOU !!! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
I think she is the bomb! I currently have her as teacher right now and I love it! She makes some lame jokes sometimes, but it's entertaining. She also teaches from worksheets, but offers other practice problems in class. She's really helpful too if you ask for it! In lectures, she always checks up and makes sure the class understands.
She's really sweet and funny but she talks really fast and doesn't explain everything. She does give out very useful handouts but you really have to work on your own for the grade. Don't miss class you'll get lost. I wouldn't take her again but she just isn't my type of professor.
Ms. Clemons has tons of personality and is fun to listen too, she really is there to help you pass. If you do the homework and quizzes its a very easy class. She is always there to answer questions or help you understand and isn't a very tough grader. She also gives partial credit on all her tests which can really save your grade.
Dr. Clemons is an all around wonderful woman. She is so sweet, funny, & well help you in any & every way she can!! I am awful at math but I passed this class with an A because of how well she teaches it. Love her!!
Excellent at teaching!
Best math teacher I've ever taken. She is amazing and so helpful if you go to her office hours. do the homework and study it and you'll pass everything.
Teaches by worksheets, quirky and funny. Overall good professor.
I had Professor Clemons for pre calculus and I loved her so much I took her for trig! Her lectures are literally the tests and all the questions from the homework were on the exam. It's not a hard class to pass of you pay attention and ask for help when you don't understand. If you don't like/understand math I highly recommend her.
Doctor Clemons is a great professor! She does get a little off topic but not for too long. She explains everything really well and won't move on until everyone understand the material. I personally have always hated math but she made me actually want to go to class. I would definitely recommend her!
I have always had a problem with math teachers moving too fast on subjects and material. Dr. Clemons is the best math teacher i've ever had. She makes it easy and goes over each topic until its a piece of cake. She also gives you every opportunity to make things up for a better grade and is reliable about when stuff is due, nothing is forgotten.
My only major concern: Professor Clemons isn't very computer literate and uses an online program for math homework assignments that isn't helpful like MyMathLab. I suggest going to the G-building Math Lab for help. Otherwise she is a thorough, funny and helpful professor. Make sure you do your homework and study, trigonometry is no joke!
She's very smart on the subject of math, she knows what she's talking about and she'll answer questions willingly. I just felt like I didn't feel a major improvement in my math skills having taken her.
She is a great professor!! I have always struggled with math, but prof. Clemons made it really easy to understand. She will help you when ever you need it. She wants everyone to pass!!
Professor Clemons is a great teacher, if you need help she will give it to you, or find it for you. She tries to be understanding and is very funny during her lectures. However you must participate, and have good attendance not only to pass but to understand and keep up with her lectures. If not you will fall behind because she is fairly fast paced
Math has never been easy for me, she goes very fast and rushes to finnish what she wants to show. It's just to fast pace for me.
Dr. Clemons is a great professor. She goes over all the problems you need to know for her quizzes and tests. She drops 2 lowest quizzes, and lowest test grade. Will adjust the schedule if class is behind. Homework she doesn't grade or collect it. The custom ed. book costs 150ish, but you could check out a copy from the library to do homework.
I would pick her over any other math teacher.
I loved this teacher! I'm terrible at math and she made it seem easy. She has great notes and has quizzes to remind you of what you have done. The tests are just like the math lab questions so study those good.
Professor Clemons was a great math professor. She always had a smile on her face and always wants her students to succeed. The only problem with this math is taught is all the homework, quizzes, and tests are online. Pay attention to her and ask a lot of questions in the math lab. Tests aren't accurate with the test review.
90% of the time we didn't learn at all. instead we sat and listened to her talk a bunch of nonsense on random topics. It got so bad that students had to star reminding her that we were on a tight schedule. Ended up having to drop from the class.
Ms clemons is a good professor but the only problem is that she is late sometimes and also she does not explain everything that she give in the worksheets. She is kind and funny but I would not recommend to take this class with her.
Very easy math class. No calculator is allowed, but she makes the problems on tests and quizzes easy so you don't need one. Homework is optional. I never used the textbook or did homework and passed all quizzes and tests with a 70 or higher.
Class was three times per week and very short, and we routinely spent more time listening to her talk about everything but what we were supposed to be covering in class. We'd usually be far behind the syllabus and would be told to study at home. Did not respond to emails throughout the semester, and a few quizzes were graded incorrectly.
The professor wasted a lot of time during class talking about random things instead of teaching the material, and we would usually end up cramming three of four topics in the last day of class each week to make up for lost time because of it. Quizzes were graded very harshly, so make sure you can draw perfect lines and curves if you want to pass.
She is very nice and helpful, great teacher.
Her style of lectures were confusing, and not helpful. She would ramble and the whole class would be confused. I had to teach myself lessons after class. She grades INSANELY harshly, and if something isn't exactly the way she would do it, she'll take off points. A nice woman, but I relied on what I knew from high school to barely scrape by.
The tests are based on the homework and lectures. The questions arent difficult at all. The only thing that you should be careful of is that she grades harshly if you dont show proper work when answering problems. The lectures are fairly easy, as she goes through problems step by step.
Professor Clemons was great at showing you exactly what you needed to know in order to pass the class. Lectures are structured around a booklet you buy for the class. During class, you will use the booklet to follow along and do the problems step by step, so miss class at your expense. Nitpicky on grading but she shows you how to fix your mistakes.
I found Mrs. Clemons to be the best math teacher Ive come across at Santa Fe. She made an early, normally boring class engaging. I appreciated this very much.
Professor Clemons is clearly a competent mathematician, but she is unfortunately a poor instructor. She would spend the majority of class time talking about her life outside of class, and then spend the last few minutes of class cramming in a lecture. If you do not already have a good grasp coming into this class, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
Mrs. Clemons does get off task a lot. It is pretty bad. However, I believe the class is extremely simple if you just show up and attempt to listen. It is a lot of math that was done in high school, so nothing too bad. She gives you a ton of examples and hand feeds students answers for quizzes and tests. She just talks a lot about random things.
You must buy her book (less than 10$) and it is a life saver. She's a wonderful teacher and I highly recommend her. She's very knowledgeable and if you don't understand she will be there to help. Also, at beginning of class there will be a quiz on material of previous class. And one take home worksheet. Bonus points are from quizzes before test.
I have taken this class 2 times and failed both times (both times with Phillip Pinion). With Dr. Clemons I have received my first ever A in math! She teaches math in a way that makes total sense to you, even if you suck at math. Her handouts are very clear and help out a lot when studying for quizzes and tests. She is great teacher, highly reccomend
This math class was one of the easier ones I've taken, teacher is good at lecturing and has handouts she covers in her lectures to help understand the content easier. She drops quiz and test grades that you score the lowest on, helping your grade before finals. NO HOMEWORK, although to pass tests attendance is highly needed. I recommend her.
I had the worst time in this class. I couldn't understand her explaining, and I couldn't understand her way of grading.
Don't give me wrong Mrs. Clemons is a sweet woman but she gets distracted extremely easy and her lectures don't make sense. If you decided to take this class, prepare to teach yourself and make a study group ASAP!
I took Professor Clemons in Fall 2018 and she is a good professor. She's funny and teaches well. She grades us on 4 tests (lowest not counted), weekly quizzes, homework (2-3 per week), and final. The class isn't easy, but it is definitely manageable to get an A if you put in the work. DON'T hesitate to ask questions outside class.
SHOW YOUR WORK! She is a tough grader but will give partial credit as long as you show your work. She uses a specific workbook at the bookstore you will need to buy, get it early they sell out quickly(inexpensive). She can get sidetracked very easily. If you catch an error or she is feeling generous you can earn EC. GO TO OFFICE HOURS FOR PROJECT!
I took MAC1033 this fall. I am already really bad at math and going to her lectures truly did not help me. She is super sweet but I just could not learn with her.
I have not studied single math for 5 years. With my blank knowledge of math, Professor Clemons was a perfect match for me. She got this red packet, which every formulas and explanation were organized perfectly. Her class does not stress you at all if you follow her processes. There are some quizzes and tests to do but they are for your own good.
This professor was probably one of the worst I have had. She did not teach well, and what she did teach was very sloppy. She missed a lot of important parts in her lectures and left the real work to do by yourself. It was very obvious she did not want to be there. Would not recommend to anyone.
lectures really aren't helpful, and if you email for help she doesn't respond for several days (her internet "hasn't worked" for 7 wks now in an online course) and when she does she clearly hasn't read the email at all and offers basically no help. you can only reach her if you interrupt the zoom call. no set schedule for due dates, very sporadic
Professor Clemons was a horrible teacher. She gave so much busy work for the same lesson. Her online lectures were hard to sit through because she goes so slow and no one interacted. The last 30 mins of class is for homework and you cant leave or else it will effect your attendance grade. Graded written work weird. Nice person but shouldnt teach.
Dr. Clemons is sweet and teaches all of her material on camera instead of referring you to useless videos that never seem to show you relevant examples . She has a way of explaining things that just make sense. I am by no means a mathematician expert and I pulled 98 in her class. Her class isn't difficult. Her lectures are life.
Professor Clemons has not been my favorite professor. The work load is ridiculous and she expects a lot from students. She also goes way too fast in her online lectures and doesn't know how to work technology. She also assigns a lot right before a test. I would not recommend her unless you already have a firm grasp on algebra.
clemons was a good, sweet teacher. she grades fairly, and assigns a hefty amount of homework. she can be somewhat forgetful on recording lectures. tends to stray a bit during the lectures. quizzes are fairly easy. she's also a bit hard to talk to.
She rambles on past the class time, but she is sweet and unintentionally funny. Her class is pretty consistent throughout. Her tests are identical to her homework/study guides since they're on WebAssign, so they weren't hard (though the class average was around a 60 on tests). Beware that this class is test heavy, counting for about 250/335 points.
Prof Linda is a sweet lady and the class isn't too hard if you are able to keep up with 3x week classes and homework. But, she pressures you to show your face on zoom, bad with technology, sometimes forgets to record. I found her hard to talk to and inflexible. goes through material very quickly so you have to keep up.
Linda Clemons is an amazing woman but a very boring teacher. Not to say she isn't a good teacher, but she is very slow in the way she teaches. I wouldn't recommend this class for anyone who passed middle school because you've already learned everything in the course. Easy homework. Bad at answering questions with clarity.
Normally I'm not the best at math, but this teacher really broke things down for you to understand the material better. Also provides you the necessary tools to succeed in the class (i.e. unlimited attempts on hw, 2 attempts on quizzes, review material for tests and the exam, etc).
