I took her for SOCI 1301. She has such a passion for her job, and it shows. It is not an easy A, but it is a fun class. I would take her every semmester I would be at HCC, but I only need one class for the credit.

She knows her materials, the class is fun. As far as you read the book and go to the review class. You will fine with it. She drops the lowest grade, she has extra credit, and she gives almost full mark for the paper too.

It was a very interesting class, and she was very knowledgeable about the topics we discussed. If you take notes in class and keep up in assignments then you should do fine.

its really hard/but you can pass this class...you better read, and the book is so boring, you basically have to read the entire book! BLAH! dont take her class, and there is this paper that you have to write its kind of hard...but shes a good teacher, youjust have to work really hard to pass

Outstanding teacher. There was no essay this semester. She's a gr8 teacher cuz she does everything to help you pass. She drops lowest test & quiz grades. She really cares about the success of her students. Reading quizzes are 4rm the book. Come to class & take good notes. Notes are CRUCIAL for passing the test.

If you pay attention in class, take good notes, and read your assignments, you should be fine. But her class isn't one you can easily breeze through. But she helps you understand things with examples and such is usually available for questions.

This was the easiest class I have ever taken in college!! Her test are STRAIGHT from her notes, word for word. Quizes can be difficult but seriously this was the easiest A I ever got.

She is an awesome teacher! She is passionate about waht she does and she makes class interesting. The tests are STRAIGHT from the notes, and the only tricky part is you really have to read for the quizzes. I didn't do so good on those and I still got an A. Go to the extra credit; it helps. She is very willing to help. Just go to class :)

Prof. Cook is the best...If you really want a good understanding of Sociology take her..She is clear and to the point..She loves what she does and it shows!!!

She has alot of quizes, you have to read a book with alot of pages for you to pass the quizes, the tests and exams comes out from her notes. You have to know, sentence after sentence and word after, after word to pass the exams. Overall she lays her rules from first day, and she will follow her rules. She is a great teacher!

She is good teacher, She gives you feed back. You have to read book if you want to pass her quizzes. Her exams are easy, if you take notes.

her exams are all written exams but their very easy if you write down her notes (the answers are word for word). she may talk alot but thats only b/c she loves sociology&teaching. shes helpful and very down to earth. i still remember the material and i didn't even try that hard to pass her class (i got an A+).

she is an excellent teacher,always available 2 help her students.give's a lot of extra credit,lot of quizes with options but exams r mandatory her exams come from her notes which r theoratical & quizes r multiple choice.she is the women of her rules,i got a in her class.

This is a basic college course. Her tests are so easy that all you have to do it write down what she wrote down over her lecture notes. Yes, the reading quizzes are hard but she does take some answers from the questions in the chapters. Her lectures were so easy to understand. I recommend her to anyone, unless you just want a class you can slack in

DUDE!! If you write down what she does on the bored and study it you get a B, they are the answers to the test (word for word) and if you can read the few pages she gives you then you'll pass the reading no problem. She even drops the lowest exam grade and lowest 2 quizzes!! easy easy easy but still teaches, its cool, she is a good teacher.

She is a nice teacher. If you read the book and take note carefully, you can get A easily. Her test requires you have to learn what she taught and you just write the answer word by word. She will drop your lowest grade on your test and she will give you many bonus. Recommend take her class.

She is nice but you must attend classes. Her test are directly from the book and her lecture. The lecture essay questions on the test is half the grade of the test. You must study, you must know the information. There is no guesswork on her exams. Easy class if you study and take good notes. Hard class if you do not.

What can I say, this teacher is very easy, if you do your part. There are a total of 4 exams but she drops one. If you study the lecture notes word for word you will make an A. There are 6 quiz straight from reading and are not covered in class, she drop the lowest.And thers extra credit worth 20 points towards your final grade!!! how easy is taht!

wow,this teacher was sooo easy. the test were straight from the notes so if you memorize them you got an A! the way her test are set up, you have about 8 questions and on each question you can choose from 3 questions to answer! so you make your test! this was a very easy A for me, but for those that arent willing to take the time to study 4 get it

This prof. was not hard at all unless you are just flat out lazy. Im lazy but i did great. You do have to earn your grade but if you do the extra credit and study you will do just fine. She is also there for questions and any ohter help you need i thought she was a cool prof.

This was by far, the best professor I have ever had for a college class. She knows the subject matter so well, and explains it in a way that is not only easy to understand, but makes the class interesting and engaging. Yes you have to pay attention and actually try, but it's college people, that's the whole point. I loved her.

Ms.Cook is an excellent professor. She loves her job. Her class requires a lot of reading & taking notes because half of the questions on the exam are from the books and the other half are from her lecture. If you don't understand something, feel free to email or call her. Yes, she even gives you her home phone number. Just don't call past 8pm.

She really is a wonderful professor, you can tell she loves her job. This class is NOT difficult if you just listen, take notes, and study. You definitely need the books too.

People that said she hard are lazy, her class is easy just listen take all NOTES u can! Read when she tells u for quizes help alot! I got an A all all exams. Exams are all short answer but if u have notes exactly like hers from the board and u memorize it, u will pass with flying colors. And when the exam comes u have 2 major questions and rest are choices of short answers so if u don't kno one choice just choose another, highly recomend, very fun, got a 98 for final grade

I took this professor again for global issues class. I love her even more, got all As in every test and essay i turned in. There are 7 essays, but only 5 count. I didn't turn in one of them so got a B, but its good i still love this prof. oh the book, and class notes are essential. so don't be a slacker and buy a book unlike some people in class.

easy, just remember her notes word for word, read the textm and you'll ace the tests. She will let you know what her essay part of the exam will be. multiple choice part of the exam is mostly from the book so reading is a must. I heard she's very hard on grading papers so try to avoid it as much as possible. over all, i recommend her

took her fall 2010 semester class and it was rough but OK. a lot of note taking, reading of textbooks, but it is all worth it. her tests are not that hard, she specifically tells you what to expect. she is kinda tough on her grading and she gives a lot of extra-credit opportunities. i got a B in her class and that was good enough for me. take Her

She is Bubbly, Enthusiastic, and will make you laugh. Her expectations are clear and if you study hard you will pass the test's. The writing assignments were easy but annoying. I wrote then in 3 hours and recieved B's if I put more time I would have got A's easily. Don't miss class or you will not pass the test's. I recomend her over the others.

Probably one of the best professors i could ever had. She's really nice, she keeps the class interesting, she drops a lot of grades. As far as the tests, all you do is memorize word for word what she tells you to. I never received less than a 93 on a test! The only thing she doesn't like is texting or talking while she is talking. not a big deal.

She is an easy "a" as long as you do not have an opinion that differs from her own. My papers suffered her wrath because I tended to have different opinions on the subject of "Globalization" even though I had supporting arguments.

Professor Cook is a very interesting, caring, and wonderful professor. Her class is challenging however, if you study your notes and follow the readings listed on your syllabus and you will do very well. You will learn a LOT from her!! I'm planning on registering for another one of her classes even though it's not geared towards my major!

She is a great professor! I highly recommend her. You take a lot of notes but she writes them all on the board. Reading the textbooks are required in order to pass her tests. And the essays are pretty easy too, she tells you exactly what it's going to be. Just study all of that and her class is a piece of cake.

Ms. Cook is a great professor that really loves her subject. If you think that sociology is an easy A, you are mistaken. She makes you work for it but is helpful and nice while she does it. If you are having problems with the class or materials, ASK HER. She'll do what she can to help you understand. I enjoyed her class.

This is not an easy "A" class you actually have to study your notes and read the text book,If you do those things your good to go. She is very nice and loves teaching the subject but follow her directions, ESPECIALLY on papers. Overall, she's pretty cool. Just study and take advantage of the many extra credit assignments she gives

This professor is a tough grader! Your grade is mainly based on the tests,and writing assignments. This class is overall NOT an easy "A".

I took had her in the summer and I enjoyed her class. The test are practically memorizing the notes so don't miss class. Quizzes can be tricky, so read carefully. She does her best to make sure everyone passes. You can tell she really loves sociology, very insightful. The class was enjoyable and a nice easy summer class.

While at times difficult, this teacher is enthusiastic about learning and is always willing to help. You won't get an easy A, but by studying the material she gives you, you will do well on the tests. She is also readily available to help, and even helped me with material from another class. I took this teacher twice because she excels at her job

Ms. Cook is a wonderful professor. No, she's not one to give you an A for attendance only. She recognizes who is making an effort& does everything she can to help them understand the subject. SOCI isn't an "easy A" subject but Ms. Cook's approach to teaching gives you the best chance @ understanding the subject & actually applying it in real life.

Professor Cook is probably one of the BEST professors at Houston Community College. Her lectures actually made me interested in sociology, even though I'm not a huge fan of sociology. She explains things thoroughly and is a tough grader. But if you follow the readings and the notes, the class will be easy. Made an A!

She has 3 paper, 3-5 pages each; 4 exams. The tests are easy if you read the textbooks and take note VERY carefully. The essays are hard, however, and she grades them strictly. Overall, if you take soci just to fulfill a requirement and want an A, this professor is not a good choice. I regret my decision.

She is an amazing teacher! She writes all the notes down for you and tells you everything that is going to be on the test. She gives you the essay question before the test and gives tons of extra credit. She explains everything clearly. It is not a easy A but if you read the notes and the textbook theres no reason you shouldnt pass.

She is a great Professor. It does contain a lot of reading but if you read the text and study the notes you will not have a problem with this class. She has a great since of humor.I did not sign up for her but the Prof. I did sign up for left, so I got her and it was worth it.

Linda Cook is a great professor! Although she is a tough grader, she is very interesting. I loved her class. Her tests are half multiple choice and half essay portion. 4 tests and 3 out of class essays. Gives plenty of time to work on them and receive a decent grade. I do not recommend this class to lazy people who do not want to work.

She takes a lot of notes so be prepared to write! But if you study your notes and read the required material you will definitely pass. This is not an easy A!

Mrs. Cook is the professor who likes to teaches by writing on the board in every single class and explain in details for each topics. Anyways, I like the way she taught, because everything look very organized, testing and quizzing days are already setup. You are going to like this class for sure!!

My unique experience in writing was not understanding able in the beginning of the semester but when I had a talk with the Professor, I was able to understand her way in writing a essay answers on the exam. The reading intensity wasn't my strong position ; eventually I mostly pass it with a passing grade or a B+.

Long story short; Professor Cook is a very good teacher. Show up to class, take your notes, and read the required readings on textbooks. The tests and quizzes are not hard at all if you write down all the notes and read all the readings. Expect to get yelled at if you take your phone out.

Professor Cook is one of the best professors I have taken. Considering sociology was interesting to begin with, Miss Cook is organized and she truly knows what she's teaching. She isn't necessarily a tough grader, but you do have to EARN your grade. In lecture, she writes notes down on the board while teaching which really helps. RECOMMEND.

Prof. Linda is an amazing teacher. She gives clear lecture and explanation. Alos, she gives students a lot of chances to bring up their grades. It's not hard to get an A or B. Take her. I am very enjoy her class.

Great professor, there's a lot of reading and note taking to do so make sure you take clear cut notes. Make sure you memorize all the terms for the test. I was pretty stressed out all the time for this class but I passed.

Prepare to take plenty of notes, and read chapters from the textbook. Tests are word-by-word from the lectures. (MEMORIZE YOUR NOTES) Wouldn't recommend for procrastinators.

Professor Cook says it like it is and is very straight forward with what she expects of her students. If you follow directions and take notes in class, you will do very well. If you miss class and do not take notes, you may not do very well.
