Great teacher! Very funny always keeps you entertained. The speeches are a little embarrassing in the beginning but she makes you feel comfortable. The class is easy as long as you do your speeches and study your notes you will pass!

Really fun class, but she grades extremely difficult. For just a GE course, I had to work too hard.

Great class, I really enjoyed myself. It is a hard class, you need to read the text and take notes. The extra credit is easy and fun to do. I had taken her for Comm 2 and I also loved that class. She is straight with you from the beginning of all the work you have to put in. The class goes by so fast when you start doing speeches.

She is an amazing teacher. I wasn't even sure if I was going to take the class until I went in the first day. She helped me overcome my fears and I had a lot of fun. I am actually interested in taking more comm classes because of her.

Awesome teacher! From beginning to end she gave the class 100% of her attention and help. She really makes communication fun and interesting with ALL of the stories she tells along with jokes! Just don't get her upset and you'll do just fine! :) Really recommend it!

I've known Mrs. C for three years now (I've taken Comm 1,10,&25). I've always been afraid of public speaking but I NEEDED to take the class. She coaxed me out of my shell and challenged me to do my best. There's no way you can fail this class if you try. She's inspiring. I kept taking her classes. I'm now minoring in Communications!

Mrs. Cooley is the best female teacher that I have ever had. She has no filter and tells it how it is which was always amusing. The class was a lot of fun and I highly recommend taking her class! To be successful you must read the material not only go off of the notes, complete every assignment, don't procrastinate on briefs!

I loved her class! If you attend every single class meeting and do all of the assignments you will pass her class with flying colors. You will not need the book if you are a good note-taker. I actually missed the speech critique assignment, yet I still passed with an A. I would recommend this class to anyone!!!

Mrs. C is by far the most down to earth teacher at Reedley college. I was so nervous to present & I'm defiantly no speaker but she makes the atmosphere so comfortable and welcoming. Their is hardly any homework but do read over your notes & book. She's more than just an amazing teacher but a really cool friend. If your trying to find a great comm teacher.. Cooley is a great professor. She knows her stuff. She will push you to do better and make you think critically. I went wrong by not reading the textbook. Come to class everyday. There was never a lecture where i was bored or wanted to leave. Take this class if you are ready for a real college course.

Mrs Cooley is an Awesome teacher! she is the best at giving you feedback and will help you if you are struggling to speak infant of class. Just go in to her office hours and you will come out 10x come confident. We only did 4 speeches and 3 Hw assignments, there is also a lot of extra credit. I passed the class w an A and didn't even buy the book.

expectations were kind of unclear but I passed just make sure to show up to class. Not the most approachable teacher but she does offer extra credit towards the end of semester. If you can take another communications professor I would probably do it.

The lectures in Comm 1 are always entertaining and lively. Mrs. Cooley makes time fly with her hilarious stories. One key point of importance is that even though the class may be fun, she takes attendance seriously and you gotta be responsible for finishing your assignments. Be Responsible and you'll love this class. Be lazy and you'll be drop.

Took this class and got a 976 of 1,000 which is an A. Speeches are obviously the most important part of the class. Have many sources on speeches. Research would be the hardest part of the class. Attendances is very important even when your just listening to speeches. Being responsible helps here.

I absolutely hate public speaking, but when she taught this class, it wasn't as bad as i thought. She is really funny and it turned out to be my favorite class. So many speeches though...

Mrs. Cooley was an amazing teacher, she really brought out my confidence in public speaking. She was very understanding and really cared about her students. She took the time to get to know her students, and developed her class in a way that every one would understand. You have to do all your speeches because that is how you earn taking the final.

Comm 1 class was a class I looked forward to attending, would leave inspired:) Mrs. Cooley, by far one of the best teachers when it comes to communicating and she is very specific of what she expects, so don try to wing the class you get what you put into your work. You will do fine if you follow instructions. READ THE SYLLABUS!!!

Her class was easy if you do ALL her work! Read the syllabus because it says exactly what you need to get an A! It's a fun class especially towards the end!

One of my favorite professors! Take advantage of the extra credit that is offered. Professor Cooley is reasonable with her grading. Lecture notes, her stories, outlines, and speeches are things to keep in mind. Very passionate about communications. Also take advantage of her office hours, she is always willing to give input on speeches.

Dr. C is an absolutely amazing professor. She is funny, caring, and above all else, a great teacher. You will actually learn the art of public speaking as well as learn to get over any anxiety you may have. However, it is not an easy class. She will work you and encourage you to keep up. Do not miss any speeches or the make-up day or you will fail.

I must say Dr. Cooley is one of my favorite teachers overall! She is very supportive,full of positives organized, has great stories to tell, I loved every single one of them. She offers extra credit at the end of the semester, gives tons of examples for speeches, and she emails back fairly quickly. I will definitely retake her without a doubt!

I may have failed this class, but even still, she is a good professor. Just be sure to do everything on time, and pay attention to Canvas, things can be posted last minute on there so check regularly. Awsome lectures, funny, and is caring too.

took the 6 week hybrid public speaking class it was really intense but worth it. she is a tough grader but it shapes you into a better speaker. if i needed to take communications again she would be the professor i'd choose.

Dr. Cooley was one of the best professors I have ever had. I was really dreading taking a public speaking class but she was amazing ! I took her 6 week comm1 class and it went by super fast and I finished with an A. Attendance is mandatory because it is a short term class but she is super understanding and encouraging.

I took Mrs. Cooley's 6week short term class. Of course there was a lot of work since it was a short class. She is very nice, and explain everything very well, and her lectures are easy to understand. I will say this I am someone who can't stand being in front of an audience, but by the end of the class I was able to manage my fears and nervousness.

She truly loves her job and she will indeed help you be a better presenter and help Win the debates. If you put in the work and constantly try you will pass the class with a solid A.

I don't understand why so many people don't like her! When I read the reviews before I started I was very nervous, but once I met her, she was nothing like what the other people said. Overall an amazing teacher. Her quizzes and tests are very lecture based as she doesn't provide the presentations or notes online, but the lectures are very enjoyable

Professor Cooley's COMM1 class is challenging but rewarding. Her lectures are informative, and she's understanding of students' schedules. unstuck AI's resources helped me stay on top of the workload.
