Mrs. Emerson is really nice. The class is easy and you learn a lot. She gives you the tests to study from then you take the same test in class. She lectures straight from the book so I just highlighted when she lectured rather than read the chapters. I give this teacher an A+

Emerson is a great teacher with a huge amount of knowledge in pshychology. As others stated, she gives the exact test as a study guide one/two weeks in advance which makes the class very easy. I took developmental psychology and really enjoyed the class. She makes the subject very interesting and fun to learn rather than teaching for a test.

She is always about 5 to 10 minutes late to class, and often gets behind. But she is a great teacher. She gives you the exact exam as the study guide.

Interesting, knew subject well, respectful and very helpful and nice to students. You can tell she loves what she does. Highly Recommended!

don't be fooled by a couple bad reviews! she is one of the best profs of campus! easy to work with, great with class participation, her study guides ARE the tests, and she is fun and sweet. do NOT leave COD without taking a Psy. class from her!

She is an amazing Psychology teacher, and has a strong grasp of the subject, and is easy to talk to. she is the main reasons why I choose psy as my major. the study guides are the test but they're not as easy as every one thinks. as long as you pay a good 6-8 hours on it, theres no way you cant get out of the class without an A.

Fairly easy class, test are all have study guides, As long as you do the study guide you will pass the class.

Good teacher. Study guides are EXACTLY the tests. Only way you get points off is if you miss an in-class assignment (no make-ups) or if you do poorly on the tests. It hard to tell whether she is genuinely irritated or not though, lol. I would take this class just to know more about parenting, and families.

Enjoyed her lectures because it was all about talking and not really about anything from the book. So in all honesty, her lectures have nothing to do with exams. Her study guides are literally the tests but she changes the answers around. I didn't like that she refused to give out the answers, so you're on your own in finding the answers.

Marriage and Family is like her developmental class combined w her human sexuality class relationships & family of origin. Her class was such an easy A if you do the essays (2). Easy A. Attendance matters, although every class is just a lecture. Interesting lectures though. No homework, hardly any in class assignments. Tests and quizzes are very easy. The best and my overall favorite professor at COD. She is the best, not only does she give the best and detailed lectures, they are never boring! She is very informative, and always provides the best feedback. She is legit an Angel, and the biggest sweetheart ever. If you skip an assignment, she usually lets you make it up the following week.

Professor Emersons voice in in itself makes you feel at ease & soothing it opens your mind to where your receptive to the lesson. She NEVER embarrasses you for not answering correctly. (PSY-007) Taking Positive Psychology with Professor Emerson it truly an honor. Learning Positive Psychology taught me to become a better individual. I really enjoyed the lectures and topics. My class was all online and it was easy. There are only 3 exams, multiple choice, and she gives you the study guide beforehand which is the same thing. Only have to write two papers, not too hard, and only two short easy discussions. Attendance is somewhat mandatory, just check in. Personally, I didn't use textbook. Overall, nice teacher easy class

I took professor Emerson online for 8 weeks, her lecture slides were detailed, a little long but interesting. Her quizzes do relate to the textbook which I found online for free. She gave 1 quiz, 1 enjoyable discussion every week and 1 autobiography paper towards the end, it was pretty straightforward. Great class!

It was a really interesting class! The 8-week course was super manageable. Be sure to read all of the powerpoint slides and the textbook. Never had to reach out to the professor but she seemed super willing to help with anything. Autobiography as the final where you correlate each unit to your own life. No late work accepted at all.
