Mrs. Evans takes the pressure off of performance and places emphasis on learning and self-exploration. She is fun, laid-back, but very passionate about writing. ENG 217 is her version of "healing from ENG102", so if you need some writing healing--take this class!

Linda is by far one of the best teacher's I have have thus far. Her stories are great and she makes me smile on days that wouldn't necessarly be possible! Thanks Linda! It has been a great semester!

took her online ENG101 class during the summer, it was an easy A. She answers any questions straight away but I left not feeling like I learned much, could have been due to the online environment?

Online class. Take this if you enjoy writing down your feelings. Due dates every Tuesday: one journal entry, three opinion questions from text. One essay every month. She gave lots of feedback and took interest in what you were feeling. Easy grader, must keep up with work to gain points.

Banned Books and Censorship is already an interesting subject, and this teacher is really encouraging, relaxed, and makes sure that everyone takes something away from the course. I highly recommend it

i took this class online, and WOW does she have her stuff together. this is the best organized online class i have ever been in! all the assignments are different and cover all different aspects of banned books and censorship. HIGHLY recommend! she's really nice, really engaging, smart, and quirky too! finally a teacher has it all!

Not going to lie, I was a little intimidated by this class but it turned out GREAT! Linda is such a nice lady and very passionate about what she teaches. I took it on-line and it was super organized and way easy to follow! Take this class, you'll learn a lot!

I took Banned Books online. Very easy class, fair share of work, but all easy work. She gets grades back to you almost immediately and she gives AWESOME input! Very easy grader. All around great class. Never though I'd be interested, but I actually was!

Online Class. She was an AMAZING teacher. Interacts a lot with her students. Makes writing fun. Helps you to find your passion in writing. Great class GREAT TEACHER! Homework is easy no tests in the class just essays about yourself.

She is the best teacher I have had so far at MCC. She is always willing to help you understand and she gives you extra credit for turning your homework in early.

Fairly easy class if you do all the work. Make sure you have every assignment submitted online correctly because she is NOT UNDERSTANDING at all about internet errors. I proved to her that I had done all the work and had people email her that had seen me. She didn't care and dropped my grade a letter.

I took this class online and LOVED it. Ms Evans is so involved in the online chat, really there with her students and gives GREAT feedback. Easily the BEST online teacher I've had, and the banned books were too cool to read. I HIGHLY recommend this teacher.

I took Ms. Evan's online class and it was all crystal clear! The entire semester is outlined for you. The class is an EASY A and the assignments do not take long, but MAKE SURE you do not forget to turn in an assignment. There are NO exceptions for late work, whatever the reason. She is a very nice person. Take her class!

She is WONDERFUL!!! Storytelling has been my absolute favorite class. I learned so much about myself and other people. Linda loves what she does and it is obvious in her teaching style. Do the stories and turn in all of the journals and you'll have an A. She doesn't grade on performance because she appreciates each individual's strengths.

Took her class over summer1. This teacher is a very sweet and caring woman and a great instructor. Just make sure you devote enough time for homework and submit everything on time. Definitely recommend her!!!

I took this class online, and it was super easy. There are a lot of assignments, but they're not hard. Just pay attention to the instructions and the calendar and you'll be fine. She responds to every request and question quickly, but she won't make special accommodations so don't even ask. No rewrites and no late assignments. All around a good exp

Reading assignments were clear and easy. The teacher is very knowledgeable and answers all of your questions in a timely manner. She does not accept late work but she will give you the opportunity to resubmit some assignments for a better grade. This class was easy, straightforward and I enjoyed it.

Linda was an incredible instructor. She gives meaningful feedback on your assignments. All assignments were very clear with the expectations. She responded almost immediately to all questions!! I learned a lot in this class.

She was a good instructor. Left great feedback on all assignments. If you actually try she pretty much gives you 100% on all the assignments. The only thing I didn't like is that there is no leeway with assignments. I submitted an assignment through copy&paste since my attachments weren't working and she still gave me a 0 on it.

I enjoyed her Banned Books course. She made the class fun and the assignments were in line with the course. Not a hard class. She made it interactive (online class discussions) and fun.

Took this course online and it couldn't have been more straightforward. 4 personal essays and a weekly assignment from the book. The "textbook" was awesome! I kept it after the class was over just for reference and it was actually interesting. Highly recommend this teacher!

She grades fairly and gives clear directions. Easy class. She is also very nice which makes it even better.

Mrs. Evans is a great teacher who lays the class everything out clearly. There are 4 essays total, a weekly reading assignment. She is always very giving in her responses and feedback and will help you in any way! Shes a great teacher and I would definitely recommend her!

Mrs. Evans is a great professor! I took ENG 101 online, and #1, she opened the class a week prior for an early birds, #2, her syllabus is well defined and crystal clear on what, when, how, etc she expects on each assignment. The class consisted of 4 essays (12 total writing assignments) and 8 or 9 reading assignments. I'll be taking her again!

I would reccommend ENG101 online with Linda Evans to EVERYONE. It's really easy. The due dates are the same every week so you get into a routine. 4 essay all semester and they are all personal narratives so it's easy to write about. She is very helpful too. Take this class!!

Online summer course went fast, but I thought it was fun and easy - 3 essays total about yourself - the book was an easy and good read. Instructor gave good feedback and always responded quickly to questions and assignments. I totally recommend this instructor for this particular course.

Professor Evans can be a bit nit picky sometimes. I wasn't sure in the beginning that I was going to like this class, but it turned out better than I thought. She communicates well and often. Overall is was an enjoyable class.

Class had a simple layout making it pretty easy and fun. Linda is AWESOME about communicating and will give you feedback if you turn assignments in early. She is an english teacher so expect to have to write up to certain standards. Follow her directions and you won't end up like these negative raters.. I definitely recommend this class/teacher!

Take online during the summer if you can. You have a short essay due once a week but have assignments that lead up to it. Dont waste a whole semester going to english. She graded papers so fast and even let you turn in early if you needed help. The best.

She really gives you every opportunity to get an A. Her feedback is awesome and she really develops a one on one relationship with her students. She is a gem!

Great communication. Grades and responds right away. Fair grading. If you work with her and write your essays way ahead of time and get feedback, there's no reason you shouldnt get an A. Four 750 word personal narratives. Nine 30min-1hr reading exercises. One prewriting and one freewriting for each essay. Definitely less than 3 hrs of work a week.

Super easy class. Take english online, dont bother going to campus. Weekly essays with super easy prompts. If you turn in assignments early she'll grade them ahead of time and tell you what you need to fix. emails you back almost immediately and is clear in her responses. You have an assignment every week in the book so get it.

I took this for a humanities and would definitely recommend if you need one. Very interesting subject and received great feedback. No late work allowed. If you turn in the assignments on time and in the correct format, guaranteed at least a B.

What a great teacher! Class was straight forward and to the point. No unnecessary assignments. I actually learned how to write good papers and she left great feedback on every single assignment. I would definitely take her again, and I highly recommend taking her class!

Her grading system is the most effective I've seen so far. she actually offers feedback. She tells you exactly what needs to be fixed, and if you do it then you'll get 100. She only puts 0 to gain your attention, so it's crucial to turn things in early if a good grade is wanted. She has helped me become a better writer, and I got 100% in the class!

Linda is a wonderful teacher and extremely helpful. Yes, the rumors are true, she will give you a zero on an assignment BUT it's so you review her feedback to help improve your grade. This was by far my favorite thing about her. It was nice to be able to go back fix your assignments, and a great learning experience. I highly recommend her.

The textbook assigned was extremely helpful and actually enjoyable to read, but she seemed to get harsher with paper grading as the semester went by and was a little hard to please. Her feedback was very in depth though, and she's very friendly.

I learned more about writing from her feedback than all my previous English classes put together. Amazing dedication to her students!

I'm impressed by her. She got back to me immediately, is fair and easy to understand when it comes to the work. Do the assignments as describe, do it on time and put some actually care into your words and this class becomes enjoyable.

Professor Evans was one of the best teachers I have experienced in a long time. She is traditional in that she expects you to put for effort. However, she provides constructive, interactive feedback. It feels refreshing to have a teacher read your work and offer feedback throughout when it feels like so many professors just glance at it any more!

I like how she teaches like she is genuinely interested in the topic. You do have to get a head start on reading or youll be behind on some assignments.
