grades very hard...never gives perfect scores (even for homework)
She is difficult, NO original thinking, just what SHE thinks.
No orginal ideas
this teacher is horrible, avoid her and her stupid ideas. you cant think on your own, you have to think and write using her style
I'm not sure why people are giving bad marks to this teacher becuase if you are a good student and not a slacker then you can easily get an "A". I suggest if you want to show up whenever you want and not do work then I suppose you should not tak
Not very helpful.
grades very hard!
Great Teacher.Follow the book format on all exams not your own creative mind. Not a creative writing class.Get to use your book on exams.Just remember the "you" attitude and save all the exercises to your disk and you will pass easily.

I didn't like the class, i earned a B though. It's boring but if you show up for lectures then you should have no problem passing. Good teacher.
This Class is exreamly hard. No creativity. So boaring
the tests are impossible, you'll get a C no matter what, she doesnt explain what she wants at all. Well she does, but then she'll contradict herself the next day which makes it nearly impossible. Open book on texts don't help since she grades soooo hard.
she is very hard. Lots of homework. Crazy. Grade hard too
She's always in her office to help. Really helped my writing. I liked her a lot.
She is a hard teacher. Do not take her. She makes jokes and laughs at them weird. Do not take her.
She's tough teacher and grade very hard. But she's very helpful teacher, always helped me a lot when I went to see her at her office. Remember! You will not pass the class, if you didn't pass the final!
Very difficult to understand. Very unclear on assignments. Hard grader
don't take her class!!really hard and really unhelpful. everything is unclear and confusing.if you are an ESL student, don't take her!!
Teacher is nice. Very organized. Grade is based on 7 papers. Which all are fairly short and easily written in no time. I would reccomend her for BUAD 301. As long as you go to class and do the assignments its not hard.
she's ok .. she grades pretty hard and also theres is not a day when she does not give homework.. she sticks to the syllabus and is very organized..you have to go to class all the time cause if you miss a class she'll make you write her a memo and also take points off
The class is somewhat hard, and you have to figure out what kind of style she is looking for. She is very very organized, and sticks exactly to the sylabus. She is pretty nice, but a hard grader. If you are willing to work hard, then she would be a good teacher. Not an easy class.
She is a very nice professor, I recommend her for every one. She is very clear and organized too. I like her a lot.
Okay teacher. She is kinda boring and annoying. She tries to act excited but sucks at it.She is organized & class is structured and well planned, but you can never guess how well or bad you did on assignments. You dont really know how she grades,so that's not good. But you shouldnt have a problem passing the class if you go and do ur work.
Fair teacher a little on the hard side. No sense of humor. Very professional.
The worst teacher I have ever had.
I have never done so much work in my life! Lots of memos/reports (research!), ending in a final portfolio (about 45-50 pages) and 10 min presentation (w/partner). Very challenging and time-intensive. However, she is very willing to help you after class/in office hours and she grades relatively easily.
Dr. L. Fraser is one of the worst professors I have experienced at CSUF. She is quite unreasonable and unable to relate to her students. I earned a B in her class, but I still thought she was a terrible professor. She is most comfortable attempting to explain her subject, but when questioned she becomes agitated and irritable. Do not take her!
GO TO CLASS ON TIME!!! I was docked 35 points for being late!! Class is not hard. Read chapters and do homework you will be fine. In-class papers every week worth 100 points each. I had a high C going into the final because of the attendance points. Would have had a solid B. GO TO CLASS ON TIME!!!! O, and don't leave early.
Strict and very formal. She enjoys teaching writing and can be very enthusiastic about it. Easy b, b-, or c+. However, if you are looking for an A go somewhere else because she rarely gives higher than a 90 percent on a paper (which is barely an a-) even if it seems perfect. Quizes are difficult and docks points for attendance or going late.
she gives in class writing every week. easy B,B-, but never A, once i took my writing to another professor & said i should get A for it, but she gace me a C+, so hard grader but nice teacher. she doesn't really explain the assignments. but just a lot of work in that class. time consuming. take another teacher if u wanna a good grade
Easy B, she does not give much A's but basically she expects exactly what she teaches. You only need the book to read a few cases so you might be better off barrowing the book, you can just read (copy) the cases listed on the syllabus. Just show up and do you work, its not too hard. Just have a good group for the group project.
This professor was HARD. I was unfortunate to have a dumb, foreign classmate as a partner on research papers, so I pretty much did all the work myself. I think I did more work than anybody in the history of this class. I did end up w/ an A, but I worked my butt off for it. Take someone else if you know there's an easier teacher.
I think this was the first sem she taugh BUSAD 301 with a focus on Acctng, and she did a good job. Class was well structured, and it was fair. Though she does subtract points for missing attendance..
I took this as an honors class. While she expects 100% effort, I think she is a fair grader. I received 100% on at least 3 papers so she does give out A's when you earn them.
Since this was the 1st time the class was taught with an accounting emphasis, I felt a little like a guinea pig. The format wasn't quite structured yet, but she was a fair grader. Gave me plenty of A's, so I don't know what others are talking about.
70% writing in class. Easy B if you are a good writer. If you are not, avoid her. 2 group presentations, but only 5% of your grade. Do not miss or show up late to the class, she may deduct your points. Good professor! Do not buy text book, just copy 2 pages as assign.
I had her for BUAD with accounting emphasize which is easier because it focus only on accountign field(only you're an accounting major). Her writing assigments are not hard just that she doesn't explain well what she wanted. Textbook is helpful for examples and format for the papers.
Great professor and a fair grader, very visual teacher. Offers examples for almost all of your assignments on blackboard at least a week ahead of the assignment due date. Final project is a personal portfolio and is VERY helpful in the professional world, DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!! The portfolio alone can get you a job in an interview!
Good teacher, she expects alot. Many in-class, timed writings. Class is for Accounting majors, which is helpful, because the assignments relate specifically to the field. One assignment after another, but she is a fair grader. Don't buy the Mgmt Comm.book, only need it for a couple things, which you can read and/or copy from the library.
Very nice professor. Just have to do your work. Many in-class work. 1 research paper. Portfolio of all your papers at end of semester.
Expect A LOT, but is very vague when it comes to explaining what she wants. The portfolio is stupid, if someone really shows that in an interview I think they would laugh at you...all it shows is that you can go to KINKOS and have something printed and bound. We had to ask for EVERYTHING to be posted to blackboard...did not do it for us.
Fraser is tough but fair. If your taking 301, it's expected that you can write adequately, so if your ESL, I'd recommend u show your papers to the writing center or ur friends for revision. She checks attendance. Study her examples and samples and pattern your writing after them & you'll get a decent grade. Not difficult to get an A.
Expect a lot of work, one assignment after another. Grades hard so make sure you get your writing checked, go to the writing center for help. At times can be vague but provides good examples of writing you will use in business.
Lots of busy work. She is a hard grader. Don't call her Ms./Mrs. Fraser or she may snap at you. It's DOCTOR Fraser!!!
Dr. Fraser is definitely qualified to teach this class. She really helped perfect my business communication skills. If your are actually willing to LEARN and DO YOUR BEST WORK, you will receive a very good grade. The negative reviews are likely from lazy students who will get little out of their education. (But consider someone else if you are ESL)
Expect to be frustrated and at times frazzled in a repeat of BUAD 201. Enormous amounts of busy work. End of semester portfolio assignment of revising all previous work, compiling a summary report of each, etc. and then having it printed on resume quality paper and bound at Kinko's is over the top considering its combined with team presentations.
SHES THE WORST! Vicious mean and just such a bitter person. with that said...shes fair with her grading but grades hard, LOTS of busy work, and lots of surprise work...be prepared for this to be your hardest class. Not superbly clear, lots of vague wording.
Don't know where to start with this woman-She knows her stuff for sure&isn't the hardest grader.Tons of busy work, pop quizzes, she is fickle, easily frazzled, she is very dry, unclear, lots of group work, takes forever to return papers.Class before the final we didn't know our grades, her response was "I'm not your secretary&I have other papers to grade"
hard grader.do not take her if u're expecting an A's for this class. and do not take her if u're an ESL STUDENT .please stay away from her. she is not clear in her assignent at all.i hate her for failing .
You can learn A LOT from her class. She's always clear of what she expects. I agree that she's really a hard grader. She grades every word, writing style, and even spaces of your paper format. However, if you follow her directions, study well, do homework, you will get good grade and improve your writing a lot. Also recommended for ESL students.
The portfolio can get you a job? Yeah right. I had two interviews, and I'm still unemployed. What a bunch of crock.
In Critical Thinking Class,I accidentally called her Miss Fraser,It is DOCTOR Fraser. She seems most comfortable sticking to what the book says and if you response varies from what the editors suggest she seems a bit lost. She doesn't have relate to students. Class consists of reading, essays, and review. Things that seem redundant.
sound like the person who wrote the review on 7/13/10 just may have been the professor...
never take her class please. She doesn't fix your writing before tests, so you will not improve your writing and do not know you do correctly or not. No chances for revision. Not clear. She changes her minds a lot of times so you will not know what should you do.
Dont take her class even though you are a good writer. You will die. Trust me.
totally not recommend. her class made me depressed. You should take PETER or DALY. You will learn a lot.
Last semester, I did not have a priority to register early, so I had to take her class. It's damage my time and my GPA, SO That's better to wait to register the best professor. you can compare: 4 months in her class, then FAIL, 4 MONTHS IN OTHER CLASS, THEN PASS. Which one you want?
no,no,no
Do not take her class. I worked so hard and so depressed for 4 mos. If she doesn't like you at the first day then doesnt matter what you do, still fail.....her class is useless and waste of time. She doen't explain and give enough time for all assignment. She is a cold blood.
totally agree with the previous comment. NIGHTMARE! If you hear Franser Linda, STAY AWAY, RUN AWAY. DON'T TRY HER CLASS
Dr. Fraser does not adequately prepare you for your in-class writings. She is VERY unclear with her instructions and there is a tremendous amount of work for this class. She docks points off for tardiness, no exceptions; that's why i ended up with a B in the class instead of an A-. Honestly,I'm a solid writer, but this class is just ridiculous.
Please please save yourself! She is very unclear with instructions. The saddest thing about this proffesor is that she discriminates. If she doesn't like you she will make the class horrible.Even if you do very well she will discreetly deduct points. I have been really sad becuase I have always excelled in writing SAVE YOURSELF!
DO NOT TAKE HER! Unclear and discriminates! Even if you are a great writer.
Hated starting my day with this horrible teacher. She could not explain her instructions and assignments. She got mad when students wouldn't follow her incomprehensible instructions. She does not teach and expects students to know everything before being taught.
I read some of the previous reviews and I have absolutely no clue what everyone is ranting about. I was on academic probation when I took her course and I got an A in it. Dr. Fraser actually helped me understand through her exercises how overly verbose my professional communications were. Her class room and teaching style are very professional.
I took her over the summer and there is a lot of work and expectations are high. I got good scores, but my papers came back covered in red ink. She's very picky. Visiting her office hours to get more personal help did help me a lot. I think I improved by taking this course, but I had to work pretty hard.
DO NOT take her!!!!! She is the most RIGID professor EVERRR!!!!! Does NOT budge the slightest bit & very sarcastic!!! BE WARNED!!!
Don't take her. She's terrible. Her instructions are extremely vague, the course criteria is super vague, she's a horribly difficult grader, and no one gets A's.
She is one of the worst professors I have ever had, she made the class difficult and was condescending to her students if she knew you did not have the book or did not know an answer. I had her for an honors class and her paper and its instructions were never clearly stated or communicated and I have no respect for her as a teacher.
Dr. Fraser is an older woman who will probably bore you. We had a project we worked on throughout the semester that seemed pretty easy, but she is a tough grader. She gets on you for little things. Bring both books to class EVERY DAY, even though we don't use them every day. Also, buy a flash drive. I would not recommend her.
Didn't watch her lectures, all of the hw consists of Aplia and posting on forums. Most of the exams were held on campus AT 7 O CLOCK IN THE MORNING ON A SATURDAY. I fell asleep in 2 of the exams and still got a B in each one. Not a difficult class to pass, just put some effort into it. And shes mean.
I am really happy I took her class. After reading reviews on rate my prof. I got super nervous and almost dropped. She is not too hard, and if your really try your best then you will do well in her class. Go to her office hours for any questions. She is very friendly. Really enjoyed the class.
Tough grader. She tells you in class that ebooks are not recommended, but she should just say that they are not allowed at all. I couldn't use my ebook in class for an assignment because of internet access. she needs to be more clear to avoid confusion on material and book requirements. Fraser's email communication is not great.
Assigns super long and dense passages to read, picks out the most insignificant details, and quizzes you on them. She's super nitpicky about details in your writing and literally goes by the textbook. The class is actually easy, she just makes it more difficult than it should be. Quite condescending when answering questions as well. DONT TAKE
Took the online class. There is a lot of small assignments but they are easy. Exams are easy - you just need to pay attention to what she's looking for. Dont buy the book, you get an online version with the access code. Would take again.
I liked Prof. Fraser. She provided good examples as well as ppt presentations for every lecture. Clear but still pretty hard writing class. Writing homeworks are assigned almost every week, plus a comprehensive writing research project. Time consuming, but you really will polish your writingpresentation skills. I would recommend her.
Prof. Fraser was okay. She's an insanely picky and tough grader. You really don't know what you're going to get on your tests. I got "B's" I thought were worthy of "A's" and I got "A-'s" on assignments I'd get a "B" on. There were three in-class. Two were on Fridays at 7AM and one (the final) at 7AM on a saturday. Get ready to do a lot of work.
She's a pretty nice prof. We had 5 in classes, some quizzes, and a final. lots of easy hw to pad our grades. Nice grader for in class essays. Just attend class, read, and write according to the formats in the book and you'll be fine. Her class isn't difficult. You just do more work than you would with other profs according to what I hear.
At first I was scared to take this class. She wasn't bad though and if you needed help it was always available. Even though the class was boring, I am more prepared for future interviews. Yes you have to work hard in this class, but if you try she really appreciates it. She can be strict at times, but she is a nice person. Do bring the book though.
She confused herself half the time by what she was teaching. She was so confusing and not specific at all. Her homework was not useful and just busy work. It was a very boring class.
This class was like taking 2 or 3 classes in 1. There is a TON of work and she is not an easy grader. There is always going to be something that could have been done better written on your papers. There is hw & group projects weekly + 3 7am on campus tests. The worst is the group projects find 2 people that are not lazy and request them or struggle
She said e-texbooks are okay to purchase, but don't buy them. She did not let me use my e-book during an in-class assignment. Everyone else was able to use their paper textbooks. Very strict and very tough grader. I got an A, but I would not recommend her.
Not a very good professor. Treated the class as a high school course. Wouldn't even let students leave to use the restroom and pulled me aside after lecture to say I wasn't allowed to go to the restroom. Took off points for having phone out in class as well. Assigned lots of busy book work. Would not recommend
She has a shaky voice and boring lectures. She can't pronounce your name right and won't remember your name at all. Seriously, I think she should have an eye exam because she keeps asking for something that is already there on the paper (page #, title). I keep getting 85 no matter what I wrote while I was doing well in BUAD 501.
You really do not gain anything from her as a professor, it may just be that the course is pointless, but she seems to be a very poor teacher. You have online homework and in class pop quizzes and writings. She's a tough grader and is not very specific on what you have done wrong to deserve low grades.
The grading rubric and her instructions were unclear. Textbook is needed and only helpful if you have time to read it. Online code is expensive, only used for pointless homework. Takes attendance. Wasn't helpful during office hours - very unwelcoming, and seemed annoyed that I was asking questions. Difficult to receive a grade you deserve.
She is not qualified as an instructor for me. There are couple issues as following: 1. She gave students incorrect sample and template, and didn't tell you in class. 2. She's not willing to help students in office hour (or at least her attitude made me feel so.) 3. She doesn't value her commitment. Nobody would take her class if it's not required.
She gave template but the format of template was not what she wanted. She was not friendly during the office hour and not helpful. Don't take the class if it is not required.
I have never written a rate my professor review, but I have never felt so upset with a professor before. Her grading criteria is not clear at all even though she gives you a rubric. the way she teaches does not benefit the students in a way where we can actually learn how to write effective business letters.
She is the least bit helpful and feedback is slow! You are unable to see where you can improve or even if you need to improve before the next assignment is due. If you ask her a question her attitude/response makes you feel uncomfortable as if she thought she made it clear. Text book not needed, but she makes it required.
Not a teacher. Do not have a clear thought, even though she insists she has. Very bad attitude towards students, especially in office hours or when you ask her questions after class. Be prepared to repeat saying your answers in class even though everyone else has clearly heard your words. Grading is based on her wired thoughts, no logic.
She's an okay professor, not the best but not the worst. Her grading style is unclear but she gives good feedback on graded essays. Online code is needed, aplia sucks. You need to work in groups a few times during class and one major group project. Her teaching style is boring and she gets very touchy about people using their phones
She is an extremely tough grader, and does not give clear instructions. Attendance is mandatory, and her lectures or unbearable. AVOID THIS CLASS AT ALL COSTS!
She is by far the hardest grading professor at CSUF. Her grading method is very unclear. Oftentimes doesn't know how to pronounce words/names. Her lectures are super long and super boring. Get ready for a long semester.
She takes attendance every class and this counts towards your participation grade. She is extremely tough grader, but you don't get your assignments back until like a month later and it's hard to understand how to improve through her feedback. She does teach the class well though. You don't need the textbook, the access code includes digital copy.
Definitely a hard grader who does not give the best feedback. The majority of her lectures were a complete waste of time. She does not do the best job of explaining the content, I learned more from the online assignments. If taking this course with her is your last option, I'd say just take the class. Otherwise, I'd look for a better professor.
