She's the best!!
If you want anything over a B, don't take this class. She is very unclear she teaches as if all the students are professionals. She is hardly available outside of class although she claims she is. STA or CIS majors beware, Oh I dropped the class.

Very boring, doesn't teach, did not learn anything, do not take.
The worst!
She sucks! During tests she hands out small calculators where the only thing U can do is add, subtract, multiply and divide. She brings in an army of proctors like the president is in town. She wears the Hitler-style hats every day with drapes for clothes! She does not know how to teach. She doesn't tell you how many questions are on tests. BEWARE
Don't get swayed by the negative remarks. She's not so bad. I'm bad at math, so I sat in the front row. She was very lucid and clear about the material. She was actually better and easier than I thought. DO all the homework, read the text for multiple choice Q's and attend recitations. If u can't get any other teacher, she's not too bad.
test are very confusing, especially multiple choice part, do not take
She puts all her notes online and that helps a lot.
She's Ok. Follow the notes posted by her on the website. The book is more confusing than the lecture itself. Go to her lectures, you'll do fine.
the worst,do not take, some times i think she's lost her self, she keep saying "don't listen to me", she makes lots of mistakes in her notes, stay awy ...
she's not that bad. very easy going and doesnt mind where you sit and doesnt take attendance. listen to her speak in class and review her online notes and go to recitaiton and do hw. focus and the hw and the solutions. shes easy going so if you know the hw then you should do fine.
i never went to class. did no hws. just went to the recitation. day before final studied for 12 hours and read all her online notes. ended up with an A in the classjust study the notes and u'll be fine!!
she has online notes which helps a lot but the notes has some mistakes in them. she doesnt take attendance, racitation helps a lot. i learned most of the stuff in the rec class rather than the actualt class she 'tries' to teach desperately :) she's ok though i wouldnt take her again...
she is ok, u don't need the book. u just need to download the notes and study them. the midterm is easy, but the final is difficult.
Mid-term exam is really a piece of cake, but when it comes to the final, you really have to be aware of. No textbook and attendance required, download and study the note from the web, and you will be fine. Not a bad professor, helpful out side the class. Recetation counts one fourth of your final grade.
you donot need text book and attendance for this class. the class subject is not hard, but i think the exam is weird. it is really easy to lose points cause she is really strict on grading. what she teach is easy but final is hard.
Pretty easy A. I really didn't go to lecture... just the recitation. Just read her class notes she post on her site and do some practice problem and you should have no problem getting an A.
She's not bad. If you read all her slides and do the problems and the homework she has posted, you will get a good grade. However, her jokes are horrible.
just go to recitation, hw every week, so that keep u catching up all the materials. if u r a lazy ass and like to study in the last minute before exam, then dont think just reading her notes can help u survive, coz those notes r such a huge and hard to understand. i dont like her teaching method
Kinda crappy
She's ok. Not great but alright. Study on your own.
having heard what people say about Frankel i am surprised. I guess friedman is alittle better than he is. But even so she is not a gift, you have todo more work then she does all semester long.
Do not buy the book. Not worth it. It is a waste of almost $200!!! Her word document notes are long but sufficient. Tests are hard. Just study the notes and got to recitation because her lectures are not even helpful. I repeat, DO NOT BUY THE STST BOOK !!!
I think she is an okay teacher. Nice easy to talk to and helpful. The text is not needed her notes will help more. Read her notes before class and go to recitation class it's more helpful than the class lectures.
She is a very nice Prof., her lectures are very boring but she doesn't mind people sleeping in her class. There is a midterm and final, and 1 quiz during recitation. There is no need to buy the text book, her notes are ok. You would be better off going to recitation class, you will learn more because Prof. Friedman only reads out from Word notes. A
The final was mad hard, what the hell. Why does she do things like that. Overall bad quality prof avoid if you can. do your self a favor
Not the worst prof in the world she is very genoures with her grading. If you take her , you have to study hard on your own and you will do fine. exams are not easy but if you study her notes you should do fine
don't take her. if u do, no need 2 buy the book, don't waste ur $ honey, lectures r easy but tests are so hard, especially the final, which is 45%, one midterm, one recitation quiz and a final, thats all but, if u don't do good on them, u r screwed, lecture questions r never in the test, she makes up the questions very hard for finals don't take he
she is a very very nice grader. if she feels that you are really into improving your grades she will help you out a lot. but yes you do not need the book...her classes are pretty slow but if you get a nice recitation teacher like jaime whom we had it is fun.
tricky
she is great.knows her material, doesn't use the book.all done on her website.no attendance taken but presence is very helpful.take her
no need to buy the textbook coz her tons of notes are pretty enough. there are 3 exam + 1 quiz + 1 project, fairly easy if you study.
Take her if you really want to learn C++
this is a online class, so she makes the class as easy as she can, and the important thing is you have to communicate with her like send her email. she gave me full credit for most of my homework. even though the final is essay format, but the questions were from the homework, just like doing the homework again.
Be prepared to do a lot of writing (about 2 blogs per week)and reading (newspaper articles 5-15 per week). If you do all the HW and participate in class, is's an easy A.
EASIEST PROFESSOR EVER @!!!!! SHES SO FUN AND YOU GET TO LEARN ALOT ABOUT COMPUTERS if youre planning to major in cis. do all the work guarantee an A
THE BEST!!!
I think I have learned more in her class than any other class. Im sure the bad comments must be a mistake. She is amazing, but you gotta stay on top of you work or you wont get a good grade. No final. One 5 page paper. And one annotated bibliography (5-10 sources) every 2 weeks. I really want her to get a pepper! lol
Great professor, easy class. All you have to do is research and then dicuss in the class. One term paper(5 pages) and No final. Take her if you want to get a good grade.
Great professor, easy class. All you have to do is research and then dicuss in the class about what you have found. One term paper (5 pages) and No final. Take her if want to get a good grade.
most interesting class ever. she's such a cool professor. no book. she gives students a lot of extra cred opps. everything is pretty much online. recommend taking the online course for this class. i took the hybrid course, class and online, but everything is straight forward so better takin it online! a must take for elective or minor and even majo
Don't read the comments and feel the class will be a breeze. It is still Statistics @ Baruch after all, and the final is departmental. Ya. Still have to understand the formulas/concepts, gives hw every other day, but if your dedicated an A is very achievable.
For a hybrid class you must study hard for a good grade. Her tests where fair and she responded to my emails usually really fast. First semester of a departmental final and I felt like I did well. As long as you arent lazy and keep up with the work an A is possible
If you have some knowledge in Statistics - this class is an extremely easy A. Take it! I don't know why people complain here. 10 formulas in total, you can bring cheat sheet to the exams. Very helpful, always responses to the emails, always in her office and the most important - Prof. Friedman wants you to get a good great! Plus, she is a fun prof.
Took course as a Hybrid class and learned a few things #1 Horrible teacher, doesn't clarify anything or give directs responses #2 The department final was nothing like her tests #3 Had an A going into the final, failed the final #4 Gave 85% of the class 0/5 on participation and graded out attendance even though it was optional ... Max grade of 90
she's a good prof. Just remember Email her with your questions in order to get 10% of your grade. Easy class, spend 2 hours before every exam to read her notes and you will get A. Exam she gave were the same as the hw, and the final was more focus on my stat lab. Do more questions.
Guys DO NOT TAKE HER for STA 2000 !!! Her Final Exam worth 40% and it is worse than the departmental final, it is completely different from what was covered in class. She has very tricky questions on her exams. 3 EXAMS (each 10%-15%), HW 5% (A lot of them), Attendance & blackboard Discussion (each 10%). AVOID HER !!!!
She's not much of an educator. Be prepared to teach the entire course to yourself. Attendance isn't mandatory because she knows nothing is actually ever taught during class. Hard tests and her final was difficult. On the + side, she is nice, gives some xtra credit opportunities, and is very approachable. U may want a bttr prof 4 such a hard course
Here's a fact: This professor cannot teach. She thinks that everyone understands Statistics, which she's wrong. She always say, we don't need this to discuss further because you know it. Hello! that's her purpose, TO TEACH! I was so disappointed and I dont recommend her, NOT AT ALL! Save your GPA by not taking her.
Hard teacher and very hard to understand the work, she thinks everyone is an expert and her tests and quizzes are so hard, you have 3 tests and a final that was very hard, make sure you do your extra credit!! it will save you in the end, make sure you also do all of the homeworks correctly and pay attention in class unlike me and you will get an A
Great Professor and Great Class. This class is extremely organized. Her notes are clear and concise. Her exams are very fair. She wants you to get an A. Just study her notes and do her practice problems before each exam. There are 3 exams, one final, and some HW assignments.
Exams weigh heavy on final grade. Be prepared to teach yourself. Not very approachable. Not very engaging. Dissapointed.
Took her for Special Topics: Jewish Humor at Baruch. She's very approachable and friendly, and the class was incredibly easy. I can't speak for her statistics teaching skills, but if the Jewish Humor course is offered again, TAKE IT!!! Easy A right there! Thank you, Professor Friedman!
One Word.. SKIP!!! If you are a good test taker this is the class for you, but if you dont do well on every test there is NO WAY to get a better grade! Homeworks, extra credit etc. Will not help you
Honestly, you should take her if you're good at teaching yourself the material, because she gives you all her notes online along with other helpful resources. If you like your grade after the two midterms and quiz, then you exempt yourself from the final. She doesn't use homework to calculate your exemption grade, only the tests and quizzes.
I took a hybrid course so attendance was not necessary and the lectures were mostly going over questions that students had. Her homeworks are helpful and super easy. She had other things such as blackboard discussions that are basically a ton of free points. Her tests are super easy, I studied for 1-2 hours for each test and got A on all of them.
AT THE END OF THE SEMESTER GIVES YOU AN ESTIMATED GRADE WITH AN OPTION TO SKIP THE FINAL. Hybrid. Minimal work required, but without doing it it's unlikely for the best grade. Advanced material but explains it clearly and gives you many resources. Gotta work for it, but it's possible to do well. Not an easy A.
She is an easy professor if you know the material and can study on your own. In my opinion, she is not good at teaching but she made everything super clear. She post all the slides, hws, and review questions since day one. Exams are easy as long as you can do all the questions on HW.
Awful. This class is a hybrid which means you have to be prepared to learn the information from the resources this professor makes available online. The problem is that they don't prepare you for her tests at all. And her tests will determine your entire grade. Do yourself a favor and don't take this class.
take her if you can! she let's you skip the final if you do well enough/show her you know your stuff. her lectures are clear enough if you aren't on facebook 90% of the class. gives solutions to the hw to help you along if you're stuck. do all the exercises and pay attention in class if you wanna pass!!
She is absolutely horrendous. I had her for the Fall 2016 semester and I failed because of her stupid exams. She's such a hypocrite as well. She told us we won't need to certain words to define and the test had define words. I ended up getting an F! Recommended teacher for STA 2000 instead of her, Professor Junyi Zhang
STA 2000 with Linda Friedman is a hybrid. She says at the beginning of the course that if you're not self motivated to learn the material ahead of time, you will fail. The class is manageable if you have a study partner for homework or are motivated to learn on your own. She's also hilarious and tells a lot of Jewish jokes.
If you have at least a C by the end of the class, then the final is optional. She is a nice lady who wants students to do well (will count later tests with more weight if you do better). Does not really teach in lecture so I advise to really watch the videos and take notes. Don't buy the book. We didn't use it and it was a waste of money.
If you did well in the previous exams. She provided you an offer to skip the final which was really great. I saved the time to study my other final. Please remember to read her notes and videos, it will help you a lot.(Because most her exam questions are from the hw and notes) Trust me!
Amazing. Easily the best STA professor. 3 midterms I believe, and if you do well enough you can skip the final and get an A. If you're a serious student, that can do well on the not very intense exams, you'll be golden. Love her. Also the only hybrid STA2000 professor I believe.
When she spent 2 classes talking about THE CONCEPT of "what is simulation" and 4 classes on students' video presentation, I knew this class is gonna be a waste of time a money! Lots of stupid assignments and learned nothing, however a mandatory course!!! Worst professor ever met
If you don't take Professor Friedman for STA2000 you're making a terrible mistake. This woman literally tells you everything you need to do to get an A in her course. Just read the lectures before class, because it is a hybrid, and do the homework assignments, which are super easy. She gives you exam prep and you can opt out of the final. TAKE HER.
Professor Friedman is a hybrid class, however, there are online youtube videos, excessive notes & powerpoints provided. If you take the time to watch the videos, and actually do the homework you should be golden and more then prepared for the fair tests. The class is far from an easy A, but there are 5 points xtra credit, & she is accessible 2help
Professor is great and will make you work for your grade. I did well on the first midterm but not so well on the 2nd midterm and she allowed the class to skip the final for a certain grade which I got a C- on. Do take the final as it made my final grade an A- instead of a C-. Watch the lectures as they are extremely helpful and do the extra credit!
Easy A. 10/10 She gives you a link to her website at the beginning of the semester that has her lecture notes, videos, homework, homework solutions and exam help. Her lectures are more like recitation classes. Just watch the videos and do the homework as you go. It helps a lot. 2 exams, final is optional. Easiest class I've taken at baruch.
It's a hybrid, so her classes are more like reviews for the lessons you do on our own. She provides a lot of material on her website, so just teach yourself, go to class if you need extra help and you'll get a good grade. She even lets you skip the final if you do well on the previous exams.
If you aren't disciplined to actually watch the lectures regularly, do not take this class! I read all the great reviews for this class and it is not as easy as it is made out to be. You really have to put in the work even though it's a hybrid. In class she rarely teaches the material, so if you don't teach yourself well, DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS.
Everything you need is on her website. Lectures dont really help. You gotta self-teach. Weekly assignments with no specific due date, 2 midterms, 1 quiz, 1 final. If she has a grade in mind for you by the end of the semester and you accept that grade, you cant choose not to take the final.
Prof. Linda is the worse professor I've ever had in Baruch College ever, she literally does not care about her students and not responsive with emails, you have to literally teach everything yourself and Statistics is a class you must see examples and guidance but she just likes to pick on people and expect you to know the materiel without teachin
She keeps it real with everyone, telling us the structure of her class on day 1. She has her own website with everything she'll ask for on it, you can do things ahead of time if you want. Final is optional depending on how you're currently doing. Always ready to meet outside of class, no statlab/textbook. Knows her stuff and is very understanding
Was originally a hybrid course at first. The first exam given IN class was fair. Has lecture notes in the form of powerpoints w voice notes/YT video/PDF of notes which were very helpful. When class got moved fully online due to the pandemic, her exams were on blackboard, you CANNOT go back to a previous question and she made it hard to understand.
Don't take her if you want a high grade. The first blackboard exam was alright, except there's absolutely NO backtracking and VERY LITTLE TIME. By the second and third exam she gave fill-in blackboard questions that are extremely hard to understand. Being in a pandemic, this professor cares more about people trying to cheat than actually teaching.
Linda Friedman is the type of professor who takes pride in "rarely does anyone get an A in my class" which speaks to her teaching abilities rather than the student's abilities. All the blackboard test questions are twisted and much different than the lectures and homeworks and she's also admitted it, she doesn't care about helping students
This is a hybrid class so its self teaching. Many don't understand that. As long as you watch the YouTube lectures and do your homework you will definitely get at least an 85+. One downside is that you can't go back to your questions during exam. She also won't you see where you went wrong unless you schedule office hours but she wont show the qs.
As an online class, I'd say avoid. You get one asynchronous day and one zoom day. She doesn't teach on zoom, doesn't really answer questions, and expects you learn from the youtube lectures. On exams, you're not allowed to backtrack to see your answers. She does let you opt out of the final if you do well on the exams, tho. It's a very meh class.
Do yourself a favor and dont take her, If you want to learn something she isn't the right professor for you. She pretends she cares about students but she doesnt give a .... She doesn't teach, all you can do is go watch her youtube videos she made about 3+ years ago with a horrible audio quality. Her tests are designed to trick you. nothing like HW
Worst professor to take during COVID. It's a self-taught class, everything for the class is on her website. Even if you go to office hours she still won't explain anything just direct you to videos. She won't show you what you did wrong on exams just explain in words. You're not allowed to backtrack either.
She's not a good professor, if you want to be taught you need her to avoid her class. She literally says she's not there to teach, I will say if you do the practice problems on your own you can probably get a decent grade. However, if you struggle to teach yourself she is NOT the prof you want to take. Also does not curve.
Avoid taking this class with her. She does not teach at all during class time but only goes over the homework. All class material is on her website including her lectures. If you do not like classes where you have to teach yourself don't sign up for a class with her.
an abomination!!!! She is super tough, no mercy for students. Her tests are so hard and she does not curve. Everything is fill in, she makes her own questions so you cant find them online either. Poor outdated video lectures, her live classes are useless. 5 exams including final and homework every week. Wish I didn't take this class, but here I am
Worst professor at Baruch, she does not teach at all. If you don't like teaching yourself then avoid this class. Her lectures are outdated and have many errors. She gives homework every week with no defined due date for them. She does not review before an exam but would rather link an outdated recorded review lecture.
What people don't understand is this is an asynchronous class meaning you have to teach yourself a lot of the material. The exams are somewhat hard but theres a lot of resources to do good. The Prof is also very considerate as I tested positive for covid and was very nice about it. Work hard and earn that grade!
you have to teach yourself. there are old videos she uploads for each topic. SHE DOESNT TEACH IT. class once a week is useless, only useful for practice probs and questions. tests are HARD, nothing is online so don't even try. Do all the homework and try your best on the exams so you get exempt from the final. She gives you the hw answers, only +
AVOID! This year has been a tough one for many students and professors alike but she seems to show no remorse for that. During her class, I attended office hours and requested many meetings of hers and instead of being taught anything at all, I was discouraged. She told me I would never pass and should drop out without aiding me with my problems.
You're better off taking another professor who actually teaches. She just has YouTube videos with her husband and makes it difficult to actually ask her questions during the live lectures. This class was hard and you have to set time aside to study and do well. Only good thing about her is you're exempt from the final if you have a decent grade.
In the world there are very nice people...and Professor Friedman is one of those people: Kind, caring and knowledgeable. This does NOT mean Professor Friedman can teach. She is a terrible professor and talks in circles. Best of luck learning anything. I gave up and just taught myself Statistics because I was sick of how terrible she is. Run!
Her slides makes you confused, doesn't really show you how to do the problems. Just look on Youtube they actually give examples on how to do the questions. She has 4 exams AND a final, questions are confusing and different from homeworks. You still have class after exams. Doesn't go over the test or give it back. Tons of hw but only worth 5%.
Honestly not sure why so many people are hating on this professor. Stats is just a hard class and she has plenty of resources to use to study. Yes some of the tests can be challenging but if you put in the work you will get a good grade. She has recordings of all the lessons that you can watch when ever as well as plenty of practice questions.
You take 4 exams in the class and our average exam grade on all 4 exams was a 62%! Run for the hills! Do not take her class. She is disorganized and always uses trick questions on the Exams. You will NOT pass the exams nor this class. She has failed her students and failed herself when saying she is a professor of statistics. Such a shame.
Overall, pretty simple class. Although the professor wanted us to get something else out of this, most of this is honestly simple concept and mostly formula. If you want to learn, then this is probably not for you. Do the homework and practice problems, and this class is an easy A.
She was a great professor. She explains everything during her lectures and answers questions if you have any. Even if you don't pay attention during zoom, she has a website that has all her lectures and a bunch of handouts. If you practice and do the extra material on her website, the class will be an easy A!
Watch her YT videos before her lectures. You have to do practice problems almost every day if you want to get down the concepts you learn in class. The people who didn't do this were the ones who contributed to the class average on tests being a 60 or a 70. The test questions are similar to her HW and practice problems and its an easy A.
Very difficult and wants her students to drop out. She insists that you will fail the 3rd exam if you did poorly on the last 2. She gives no motivation and doesnt know how to teach
Heartless and no curves, her exams are extremely long and she declines to give us more time or to backtrack
Do not take this professor. Exam heavy course where they are based on material that extends and beyond of any provided material in lectures & practice material, no curves no matter what. She claims there is a final date to submit ALL hws, yet refuses to grade them because they are "too late". She takes pride in failing people and shows no mercy.
Professor Friedman is a cancer, she spreads her negativity and idiocy to her students. Claims we have until the end of the semester to finish all the homework (which she lies about and multiple students get notices that HW is LATE) her exam average for all 3 are 55%
She has given me a migraine since the first exam, she shows no sympathy towards her students. Save your GPA and do not take her
She pretty much has you rely on her youtube videos as her lectures are useless, attenance is mandatory, exams are long and you wont have enough time nor can you backtrack. She encourages her students to drop out as she believes you will fail the dourse if you failed the first and second exam (which about 60% of the class did)
Never in my 2 years at Baruch, have I encountered a professor so careless about the wellbeing about her students. She encourages her students to drop the course. You tell me, what type of professor encourages their students to drop the course? An impertinent one
Ask a self proclaimed Statistician, she refuses to use the data of class averages as a cue. Her teaching style is rather lecture heavy with not the best level of explanation. I don't recommend this class at all especially if you are just looking to fulfill this requirement for your degree. I am simply hoping to pass!
She gets angry if you dont turn on your camera, she is quite rude and would not recommend anyone to take her
She basically has given us another exam a week before the final, no curves at all, no leniency towards HWs, the class average right now is horrendous. She encourages her students to drop as well its ridiculous
Many professors think that students rate them bad because they receive a bad grade but this is not the case. She deserves a low rate because she is not a good professor. Exams are extremely hard, and lessons are confusing. Very few students do well in this class and she does not care about the fact that over half of the students are failing.
I spend days studying for her exams, and end up barely passing. When you email her asking for a curve or extra credit she never responds. I believe that if a professors sees a majority of the class struggling he/she should try helping the students instead of telling them to drop the class like she does. Her exams are unfair and extremely tough.
Take this class if you've had some experience in statistics before. Take someone else if it's your first time.
This course is easy as long as you do your homework. The practice exam is similar to the real exam. She gives all the resources that you need to pass the course. Just spend a little time, you will get a good grade. Professor Friedman is very nice because she gives a 'proposed grade' before the final, you can accept this grade to exempt final exam.
The last thing you need to ever feel is brushed off when asking for help. She clearly didn't want students to improve when reaching out because she ignored emails. She has the "well it is what it is mentality." No curves were given overall. Honestly take a better professor.
As long as you study the review sheets she provides and do the homework, you should be fine for the course. Her website helps with resources to prepare. You need to do well on the exams or else you are going to get a bad grade. However, the issue is that she has FIVE exams, including the final in one semester, which is too much to give.
going from an A-B student to dropping this class. unfair, and harsh exams. i can assure u that less than 1/3 of the class has an A or a B. she talks about her reviews on rmp and says how students have talked about her answers not being online, no one cares about that. looks like she ignored all the bad reviews on her teaching.
GPA killer, terrible teacher. The out dated lectures that she puts on her website are difficult to understand. She has 5 exams, no drops and no curves. No type of care for her students, she suggests students dropping the course. I would NEVER recommend her for a statistics class.
So out of 100 students 10-15 students took the final and they all failed. Class average is a 50, save ur self from this witch
ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!! SAVE YOUR GPA AND STAY AWAY! She claims in the beginning of the class that if you complete the HWs and watch the lectures you will get an A in the class. SHE IS A LIAR, I did all the HWs, watched all the lectures, and studied for countless hours and still struggled to receive anything higher than a 50 on her exams. DO NOT TAKE
This professor isn't as bad as everyone says she is. It's a very test heavy class but it is manageable. In order to do well you must put in effort. Watch the videos on her website and do the practice problems and you'll do fine.
Gave my class the option to not take the final and keep the grade we have currently. Heard those that didn't take the final failed the exam. Her 4 exams (not including the final) are going to be difficult since the material she post online that are suppose to "help" the students are outdated. Would not recommend.
Lectures are extremely boring and hard to understand. She gives 4 exams which count for 90% of your final grade. I beg you not to take her unless it's the ABSOLUTE last choice left. And if that's the case, please pay attention and good luck.
Demeanor wise: not the most dreadful prof. Can occasionally be polite, but lack of regard for how poorly class performed on exams she prepares is discourteous. Time allocation = incredibly unfair; does not grant curves/partial credit for roundoff errors. Doesn't go over the exams after class collectively requests her to.
I tried to use her resources on her website and work with other students in my class yet the class average was still around a 50%. There was not a curve for any quiz/test and I ended up having to learn most of the material by myself. Dropped and planning on taking a better prof later. GL if you have her.
THIS PROFESSOR IS TERRIBLE, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS AND STAY AWAY. VERY VERY TEST HEAVY AND THIS WILL REALLY LOWER YOUR GPA. SHE TAKES FOREVER TO RESPOND TO EMAILS AND DOES NOT TEACH MATERIAL CORRECTLY.
AVOID!!! It will tank your GPA for sure. No curves, no backtrackings on exams, and doesn't grant partial credits for roundoff errors. If I could describe it in 1 word, it would be "RUN!!!". Thank god I didn't sign up for this class in the last minute during last year.
She has less than a 3.0 rating as of now for a reason, trust us when we tell you to AVOID taking this class at all costs! She can't teach, no sense of clarity (will not clarify things), has a really bad attitude, is so disrespectful, passive aggressive/gets annoyed when you ask questions, often contradicts herself, exams don't reflect in class work
Professor Friedman cares about her students success and understands what it's like to be in our shoes. She's there to help us learn and succeed and provides her own resources. She's also very accessible outside of class, I highly recommend!
Does not care about the students, rarely replies to email.
The average of the class was in the 50. Imagine how awful you got to be for your class to have this kind of average. Please stay away!!
Avoid this class if you want to keep your GPA. The professor lacks clarity, is disrespectful, and the exams do not reflect the coursework. However, using resources like unstuck ai can help offset the challenges.
Make sure that if you're taking this course, you start studying from the get-go otherwise you'll be lost. Have another student/buddy in the class that you can rely on to form a study group. Do the homework and pay attention in class and do practice problems. Seriously, SERIOUSLY do not goof off otherwise the test scores are not gonna look great.
Only take this class if you're willing to teach yourself the whole course. The only thing that was helpful were the recorded lectures that she posted on YouTube which I used to study. Exams are the biggest part of your grade. The class average for 2/3 of the exams were below 65%. Homework is time consuming. Good luck if you take her.
The extra star comes from her STA 2000 website. She's been very judgemental, convinced that students don't do well because they don't try, may not answer emails, and can be demeaningly cynical. The last "quiz" she refused to give the whole class time on the basis it was "easy". Quizzes are 60%, but has given leeway depending on final performance.
She made the course harder than it is. the exams are so hard and wont be graded fairly. does not have a clear instructions for homeworks and attendance. Doesnt give extra credits and are sometimes rude to students. waste of time and effort and you will not learn anything. avoid if you can
