this was my fave class however she is very unorganized and kind of out there but she really cares about helping her students improve their writing.
She must've been a hippe when she was younger, when you meet her and see her you'll know what I'm talking about. She'll start talking about one thing and then out of nowhere, she'll start something else. The core papers aren't that hard. She takes attendance so you gotta go to class.
Besides her incredibly odd stories about feeding squirrels gatorade; she was absolutely no help. Her ability to understand a student's question or needs is dead near nill and her work is mostly nonsensical and tedious. She's a very nice lady but other than that, I have nothing positive to add.
It was hard to figure out what was due when, and what EXACTLY she wanted due. It seemed it was her fisrt time teaching at the college level, so that might explain being disorgainized. I did find it funny when I was late to class and passed her chatting to people. So it's great if you're late!

She really cares about her students, and she is always there for you when you have questions. She is really good about giving individual help. I enjoyed coming to class. She does go off on tangents, but they're funny. Her papers are easy, and so are her other assignments.
she was the most disorganized english teacher i have ever had. she not willing to help students and when she does it doesnt do any good. all of classtime is spent arguing about politics or religion instead of assignments so it is never clear what she wants. nice lady but too flighty for teaching.
most ridiculous class I've taken yet-goes off on random tangents during class, late by about 5 mins. every day. Assignements are pointless and have NOTHING to do with english and she is so disorganized you never know what is due when. Good class if you're late a lot, other than that, save yourself.
I wasnt really interested in english to start with but she made it a little fun with her war centric class. She was just so unclear in her assignments that the class was intolerable. She is however fair in her grading. This coming from a white male republican. Also very religious in her comments.
Do not take english comp. with this lady. You might be able to get an A, but she's extremely boring. Topics and discussions don't have anything to do with the class. Very disorganized and you don't know what the deadlines are. Group project grading is unfair.

Worst teacher I've ever had in my school life. obviously plays favs. Seems like shes been munching on mushrooms everyday before class because she is always late, constantly changing due dates and requirements, and overal very disorganized. Should not be teaching ever, anywhere. Very unfair grader
changes assignments and due dates so its hard to figure out what she wants. any help was well intentioned but usually only made assignments harder/more confusing. pretty nice woman but boring and religious too. random tangents when students talked to each other were all this class had going for it
It is almost impossible to get an A in this class, but it is not hard tho', just a lot of work. most people would get a B or C in her class
She often loses focus of what she is talking about, repeats herself to no end, assumes you know stuff she hasent told you yet, and changes her mind about everything mid-discussion.
This lady is a total moron she is very unclear and her tangents are damn near unbearable. Grading is either favorites or bias to her own beliefs. Nice lady in general but dumb as a rock. Also she is off topic more then on, it’s ridiculous. If you’re a few minutes late don’t worry about it because she will be about 5 minutes behind you.

Seriously... Easiest class I've ever taken. True, she's a tad loopy, but her heart's in the right place. This is college! It is unacceptable that so many students cannot write a single coherent sentence... And then these same morons have the nerve to blame it on the professor! Once again - easiest class I've ever taken.
Basically it's a very easy class. But it seems as though you learned nothing. Her directions are very unclear and some times you wonder if your in a history class with all of the research you do. Plus the reading was easy.
This woman doesnt seem to know what she is doing. She comes to class at least five minutes late every day and we learn close to nothing once she is there. The work isn't hard but its also hard to get good grades. overall a boring class.
I really don't see what people are complaining about. Mrs. Goddard is a very kind woman, quite understanding. Sometimes her assignments aren't very clear, but they're easy and she's open to different opinions and discussion. Oh, and in my class, she's -never- late or absent. Do you guys have the right teacher?
She is a really Great teacher, all of her assignments are really easy. This is one of those classes where you don't realize exactly what you've learned until the end of the class and afterwards. She is definately leanient on the due dates, and is very understanding and helpful. I would def. recommend. Easy A!!
This woman has no clue what is going on. I do not understand any of her assignment but, somehow I always seem to get a decent grade... I highly recommend not taking her class unless you are interested in war however, you aren't going to learn ANYTHING!
She is the worst teacher I have ever had for English in my life. We don't learn anything about war, and you have no clue what she is grading you about. Meeting with her means nothing because she will deny ever saying things, and your grades do not get any better. DO NOT take a class wit her EVER. She is always late and always wants to keep you late

Very repetitive class. The whole semester is dedicated to a specific war and gets old FAST. Its impossible to predict how she grades; a perfectly good paper could get a lower score than a not so good paper. She's unclear in how she wants things done and doesnt make good use of class time. She's a nice lady but not a good teacher. She gives you assignments and tells you they're due and doesn't collect them. The class is very boring because it's all about war, nothing else. It seems like you're doing the same thing just in 10 different ways the entire semester. You're not sure what she wants out of you. I dont' reccommend her.
She is the worst teacher I've ever had; she doesn't teach. The class is structured, for lack of a better word, around war. She has you do many assignments which you receive no grade for. Her sense of humor is lax.
Hippy reject from hell!Comes in late and/or cancels class without notice, assigns works that has nothing to do with the class, and has no repect for anyone who does not agree with her. She also made us read books at a 9th grade reading level and didn't even know anything about the book. She is a really easy teacher when she actually grades the work
I love writing but she took it to another level, she is never on time, her class set up makes no sence what so ever and she is very biased in grading papers.she made me never want to write again.. if she likes you and agrees with your writing youll have no prob with a good grade. worst teacher EVER! cancels class all the time, and the only notice you have is a sheet on the door! rarely makes herself availible during office hours, very hard to get ahold of, WASTE OF TIME, no one knows what she's talking about because she doesn't make sense. don't even THINK about taking her, she practically ruined my entire year!
I like this teacher vey much... i got good grades and i hate to write, she is very sweet but i think she is still getting used to teaching the college type population. She is a little unorganized but i think its because she tries to teach us so much but theres not enough time.... dont be so mean!
Ridiculously unorganized- keeps faulty records and has NO memory whatsoever. If you go to her office hours (and she's actually there, which is rare) to have her check over a paper, she'll make a few minor corrections, then tell you it's good, but then when you do everything she said and turn it in, you get a low B or even a C. I hated her.
shes very sweet and hears everyone out. shes not very clear because its an english class and your supposed to be creative. be respectful and do the work and youll do fine. she does rush you at the end but its possible. once again dont be rude!!!! anyone who is rude she wont listen too. write your essays, read the book and be respectful.

Claims my class was rude and refused to listen to us, when we politley as possible tried to ask her important questions. she herself would make us give presentations and then interupt us in the middle of it to ask a totally unrelated question. And then because she would interupt, and stop the group. They would lose points while trying to regroup.

Very Hard Class! She is not clear! A LOT of work. Extremely hard A. Busted my *** going everyday to class, and doing the work to get a B+. She is very closed minded. On the good side she is always willing to help you.

she is a horrible teacher. she is not clear at all, does a horrible job at explaining what she wants. she is always late to class and then complains to the class that she never has enough time. some kids in class say she even looks like the teach from The Magic School Bus.

horrible teacher, i had her for comp 1 and it was a waste of time. she is late for EVERY class but shows up just in time so u cant leave, messes up assignmets, doesnt explain anything, blames the students when she messes up, grades hard and doesnt help when you need it. no one in any of her classes this semester liked her... my advice DONT TAKE HER
I think that Mrs. Goddard is a very good teacher. She is such a sweet lady and she wants you to learn more out of life than just receiving an A. She is very helpful and is always there if you need to discuss anything. Assignments are a little unclear, but she makes up for it with her personality. Extremely sweet lady.
The worst thing is there is no direction. She explains what to do for papers the class before they're do. Does not explain anything, and sometimes if she does explain it, she is not 100% on things. Assignments are easy enough if you can figure out what to do, but don't count on the professor.
Pretty easy class. I thought she was crazy at first but after a while you get used to her. Most of the time you don't stay on subject in class because she gets distracted telling the class how it's important to eat fresh, healthy food. Doesn't really explain too well, but 1 on 1 she gives good advice for starting a paper. No Tests.
Mrs Goddard is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet, but she is also one of the worse professors you can have at UCF. I recommend another professor.
Although this class does require some work if you actually come to class and do the assignments it is not bad. The professor is a little flighty at times but she is very sweet.
Mrs. Goddard is a wonderful teacher. If you visit her office hours, you'll see that she tries her best to work with every student. And even though she's not very clear on certain assignments, prompts and tasks, she tries her best to cater to each individual's needs .
Mrs. Goddard is a really nice person and self proclaimed kind. However, she's disorganized and very unclear about what she expects from her students. I made awful grades on her papers and still managed a B. Even though it isn't the best to learn in, I actually got to know and have fun with other people in her class.
Frequently cancels class, takes her 20 minutes to get done with the roll call, totally disorganized and unclear about what she expects from students, goes on tangents regarding spirituality and good health.
Not very organized, tells students to "shut up," has created environment where no one feels comfortable asking questions, some classmates went to head of dept and when she found out she had a fit in front of the entire class over it and also berated our work saying it wasn't "quality." Very immature. Most terrible experience at UCF. RUN!

Terrible professor. She is late every day but complains if you come in with her late. She's extremely unorganized. She makes assignments without paperwork then changes the requirements when you turn it in. She says that what you learn is more important than you're grade.
I've spoken with many classmates since our grades were issued. In my opinion, our grades were based on whether they reflected her personal taste in poetry, rather than our intent as poets. If you read a Mary Oliver poem (dreadfully boring)--that's the kind of thing she's looking for... I felt she made no accomodation for originality. Uggh....
Do. Not. Take. Goddard. Incomprehensible is an understatement. The class would find each other looking around with skeptical faces mumbling, "What the hell is she talking about and what does this have to do with our current assignment?" If you feel like wasting time (and money), take her. She's an angel, but an unsatisfying teacher.

Do not take this class. She grades randomly and never gives A's. If you have a really really well written paper you will probably get an 80. She is always late, can't write, and is soooo unclear.
I really dont need to say much, just read the rest of the reviews about her. Save yourself the F and DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. OMG She's awful, me and the rest of my classmates were already to kill ourselves by the first week. I only took the class cuz it was the last ENC 1101 open, I would have rather taken it next semester. I regret this so much.
If you want a professor that is unethical, unorganized, decrepit, judgemental, emotional and holds expectations that not even she can reach, then she is the prof for you. Ok, she's really not that bad. Yes she rambles on and on, but in the end, her class is a freaking breeze. You can convince her of ANYTHING..the only crappy thing is the community service you have to do. Other than that, it's not as bad as everyone claims. There are 3 papers, all global issue themes. She's not that bad so don't freak out!

This class is simply ridiculous. She's ALWAYS late. She doesn't explain ANYTHING (until after you already turn it in, how convenient). Service hours in the boondocks. She's easily distracted. Agree with her or fail. Good Luck!
Well our class started with 20-25 or so, and by add/drop we had 7 or so. She is by far the worst teacher I've had. I hate to be mean but I wanted to blow my brains out every day of that class. I would never take a class with her ever again. In plain Horrible.
i took her in the summer. the other comments are pretty true, she was late alot, and does talk too much on things that are unimportant. she tends to over-explain alot. i like HER just not as my professor. also very unclear instructions. and yes, u CAN convince her of anything =) so, i hope u will be nice to her, if you choose to take her class.

Please avoid this teacher if possible. She is the worst teacher i have ever had. She is just so unclear with everything she does and i feel she has no idea what she is doing half the time. Most/all of the deadlines get pushed back and she basically made alot of assignments due on our final exam day.
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER. I was a straight A student in high school, never a grade below an A on papers in AP English. I take this class and she consistently gave me D's and C's on papers only because I didn't believe in her evangelistic ideals and I supported views opposite of hers. (Also to magical amazement I get A's in ENC 1102...)
Our class was basically all politics!! It was AWFUL!! We were supposed to be learning english composition and instead she made use write 8 page papers on the fall of our economy...
Professor Linda Goddard best. She is always there if you need help with writing. I go to visit her at writing center for extra help. As an international student, I have been going to writing center a lot, but I have never gotten as much help as I did from professor Goddard. If you take the class you will admire her mind and teaching style.
I love this class it such an amazing experience she is open minded and caring. Professor Goddard such a sweet lady, she care about her students and doesn't want anyone to fail!! Just take her class!!
Professor Goddard is one of my favorite professors Valencia just take her class. I don't know why professor Goddard got a low rate because she really helpful I just think some College students now don't like professors to have their own opinions about social and political changing in our country!
I love her class. Work hard and your grade will be good. Best prof. at Valencia by far that I have had
Excellent professor. Entertaining, caring, personable and very real. Breaks down the material very well. The best professor I have ever had. Definitely recommend.
