This class moves REALLY fast. I would not recommend taking it unless you have taken calc in high school. Professor Green structures it like a flipped classroom, although the class meets like a regular class. Lots of homework, frequent difficult quizzes.

Having taken calculus in High School, Dr. Green went at a great pace, but was also always willing to re-explain a confusing topic. If you go to her office hours, she is always enthusiastic about working out any problem you may have with the class content. Great professor.

Dr. Green is a great professor. She is very enthusiastic about Calculus and is very willing to work out problems during office hours. She makes herself very available to students. I could never really expect what a test was going to be like, but everything turned out alright. Study and make sure that you know the concepts well.

Oh my God. I love Linda. She's literally my favorite person ever. She gets so passionate about math, and she is down to earth. Her class makes sense, and you can easily learn the material by going to class and keeping up with Web Assign HW. She is really open to questions and outside help during office hours. LINDA GREEN IS THE GREATEST! If you want any chance at passing calculus at UNC, you need Linda Green as your professor. Her lectures are well thought out, get students involved in the material, and explain the concepts in ways that actually make sense. Calculus is very hard and without Linda Green I would have failed. She actually cares.

Greatest class ever. I legitimately showed up to half the classes and I'm about to pull a 95+. You may think that is because I'm some super genius (I wish) or that I already took Calc 3, but NO. Linda's class is simply THAT effective. I recommend.

Dr. Green is the best math teacher I've had! I hated math with a passion before this class and now I'm actually enjoying classwork! Lectures focus on understanding concepts, so practice harder calculations on your own (webassigns are helpful for this), but if you pay attention to lectures you will understand concepts easily! Absolutely love her!

This class sucked. Yes she is a great lecturer and really loves Calculus, but the tests and quizzes are really hard. She loves true/false so I've warned ya, don't take it unless absolutely necessary and if you kinda know calc already

I. Love. Linda. Green. This class was tough, but she is an amazing teacher! If you have to take this course, take it with her! However, if it is not required for you, don't take it, as it can definitely tank your GPA. She is one of the best math professors at UNC

Tests are difficult as are quizzes in recitation. Lecture can get dry and when participation is low, it can be hard to focus and grasp the material. Linda is a great person who is really passionate about math, but sometimes she goes on and on when the class isnt really alert. Homework on Webassign helps learn the material and going back over ppts

Linda Green was a wonderful teacher. I started off bombing my homework and tests, but by the end of the semester I made an A on the last test. She is very easy to understand and cares a lot about her students. My advice is to really brush up on integration before the class starts so that the first unit doesn't overwhelm you.

It would be hard to find someone who loves math more than Dr. Green. I had already taken Calc 1 in high school so taking her class was a great way to ease back into college level math. I loved her so much that I am taking Calc 2 with her next semester!

Linda Green is one of the best profs in the department. She operates on a flipped classroom style, which I'm not a huge fan of, but it helped me a lot in this class. She is very fair, gives many opportunities to ask questions and genuinely wants you to do well.

Prof. Green was a great lecturer and really wanted all of her students to succeed. There were many opportunities to receive help outside of the classroom, but was not always the kindest in her office hours. I had not taken calc before and struggled immensely in this class; I wouldn't recommend taking it if it is your first time with calculus.

Green is easily the best Calculus Professor at UNC, and it's not even close. That being said, she is not responsible for making the final so you're still bound to struggle if you aren't amazing at the subject. There is a ton of homework but she is frequently willing to take a few minutes to go over problems that you may have had trouble with.

Linda Green is one of the best math professors at UNC (maybe the best). She knows how to teach really well, and yeah, calculus is hard, but anyone can learn it with her teaching. I had no idea if I would be able to do Calc 2, but it ended up being my favorite class of the semester, and now I'm taking Calc 3 with her as well.

Linda Green is one of the best professors you can take at UNC. Not only does she give great lectures and keep you engaged in class, she's even more helpful outside of class. Her office hours really saved my butt in this class and she gives thorough and patient explanations of topics you don't understand. She's one of the best.

Linda is the bomb . com - Took Calc 1, Calc 2, and Calc 3 next semester. She offers incredible resources, explains the material well, and is super accessible if need be. Under her guidance, I think there is no reason to do poorly with math even if you find it difficult and put in the effort. Can't wait for next semester 8am!

If you have the luck, TAKE PROFESSOR GREEN FOR MATH110. She teaches in a "flipped classroom" style where I was expected to do ALEKS problems and watch her videos on topics we were learning for the day/week. She is an amazing professor and it fit my learning style perfectly. She made the class easygoing and was always available for help if needed.

I love Linda, she is one of the best professors I've had at UNC. I had her for Calc 2 and actually understood it. Plus I'm waking up at 8am to take Calc 3 with her next semester even though I don't need it for my major. If you take a math class with Linda Green, you will not regret it at all.

Like the other comments say, Dr. Green is fantastic. She puts a lot of effort into lecturing, is available outside of office hours, and very fair assignments/grading. TAs can influence quality of recitations but Dr. Green's classes are great. I took Calc 3 at 8AM just so I could take her. Need more professors that care as much as her about students

Professor Green was such a gem! She genuinely cared about all of her students and wanted us to do the best. For each exam, she arranged review sessions that were 1-3 hours long. She teaches you for the long haul and prepares you for classes you may take in the future. 10/10 professor.

Dr. Green does a flipped classroom style the right way. She posts notes that you print out, you watch videos for before class assignments, she works out problems in class, and you get at least 3 days for homework. Her tests are fair, but beware of true/false. If you have to take calc, she is the best option hands down.

Dr. Green genuinely cares about her students' learning and has an incredible amount of patience when you don't understand a concept. Classroom style is flipped, with warmups and reading/videos outside of class, followed by review and harder examples in class. She is sometimes hard to follow in lecture, but she's extremely helpful in office hours.

Linda is passionate and knowledgeable about the content. The material isn't difficult as long as you do not fall behind. Outside of office hours, Linda is approachable and extremely helpful. Her tests, compared to other professors of the same course, are slightly more difficult or at least easier to make a mistake on. Overall, recommended

Linda was cool, nice lady. Her class is really difficult for someone who hasn't seen any calculus before. I struggled a lot for my grade and managed to get to an 79.19, only to have the final knock me back down to a C. I genuinely did not know if I would have to retake, it was loads of work and tests were short and difficult. She'll help if you ask

Linda is a great person, but she is extremely scattered and moves way too fast for students to be able to understand. She will focus on one type of problem in the notes and then move way too fast for other types of problems. She has weird and non-helpful ways for understanding certain concepts, but she is very nice and cares about your grade.

I am horrible at math but Linda was very helpful. She never made me feel dumb. Her office hours are crowded so I found an outside tutor. Overall, she is patient and very knowledge about the subject. Cares about her students and wants to help you do well!

Shes a great lecturer, but if youre like me and not good at math multiple choice, DO not take her class, as her exams are heavily MC. Her exams are very conceptual and do not focus as much on straight up calculations and free response as other professors exams.

Professor Green is absolutely amazing! I really loved how much she put into the class, and she is passionate about teaching. I learned a lot from her, and if you do your homework (Webassigns), and take notes in class, you'll do good on her tests and the final exam. Dr. Green is definitely the best bet for Calc 3. However, don't let the positive reviews make it seem like this is an easy class. There are 2 midterms & 1 final. This was rough because there is a ton of material for each midterm. Attendance isn't mandatory because she posts her notes on Sakai and they are very easy to follow. MC is tricky so beware

Linda is an enthusiastic professor who makes an effort to be accessible to her students (holds office hours every day of the week). However, it is sometimes difficult to grasp concepts from Linda's explanations and notes. Professor Green gave ample materials to maximize the success of her students. She has videos for each topic to be watched before her lesson in class. The textbook was not required, but I liked it for better comprehension. Her lessons were thorough and she would answer any question asked no matter how simple. She is a very passionate instructor.

Linda is a very helpful teacher however, calc 3 was still very challenging. She tried hard to engage the class in lecture, however it was easy to get lost in a big section. It took me alot of work outside of class to keep over a 90. Homework is necessary, and I strongly recommend reading the textbook and watching her YT videos. Study hard for tests

The homework amount was absurd, the ALEKS does NOT help at all. She does not answer your questions at all, in class or via email. Her office hours do not help either. You've got to like math because you're gonna be teaching it to yourself the whole semester, bc she won't. 0/10.

As long as you stay on top of the ALEKS software, you will be fine in the class. Though she doesn't respond to emails in a timely manner, she is available for office hours throughout the week. Get ready to focus in class and to study hard before exams, but the class itself is doable.

Shes supposed to be the best calc 3 teacher so I took her, but it seemed like we had it harder than some other classes. She made it unnecessarily difficult (not offering the same extra credit opps as other profs) but she was the best explainer of math. Shed put a certain type of Q on the test if she knew we were hoping she wouldnt. Hard tests

Multi is a super hard class which I struggle to do well in consistently, but I appreciate all the effort she puts in to give us all the opportunities we can to succeed in the class. Lecture can be pretty overwhelming sometimes in speed and rigor, but she gives really good review materials and works really hard to be accessible outside of class.

Linda Green is a really sweet and caring person, and she does communicate math well. This material is very difficult, and she went a lot faster than many of the other professors, often speeding through content that was heavily tested (we covered two whole sections that weren't on the final). It's obvious that she loves math and teaching though.

This class is so hard and if you do not do well on the exam, you will get a very low grade cause 80% of grade depends on your exams. Prof. Green is a very good professor. There is also a lot of homework online. In a word, if you take this class, spend at least 15-20 hours each week on it.

Professor Green has to be one of the best professors in the math department. Math 233 is a difficult class, and you want to be in Prof. Green's class if you take it. I am rating her at two weeks in which sounds like there is not enough time to make a valid assessment, however, I have already completed 27 hours worth of MyMathLab. Not worth it. Find a different professor who gives less homework.

Professor Green is very kind but this class is very difficult and while she is a good professor, the material could be conveyed better. She tends to go off on tangents and overcomplicate things at times. Her handwriting is somewhat difficult to understand. Be prepared to struggle, study a ton, and spend a lot of time on homework.

Professor Green is a very nice woman but not an amazing teacher for what is already a difficult course. When working on problems she often gets lost in her own work, and her proofs are incredibly long and tedious. The class isn't impossible and she is fairly lenient, but with a lot of homework and complicated lectures, you may want to go elsewhere.

Dr. Green is a gem in the math department. She is a very kind grader, her TAs are nice, and she is really dedicated to making sure students understand the content she teaches. For what its worth, she made a typically boring topic like calculus enjoyable, at least for me. There is a lot of work on MyLabMath though, so be mindful of that.

Great Professor!! Very helpful and nice. She holds review sessions before the 3 exams that are really helpful! She is great at explaining and if you have a question she is great at answering them so that you can understand. The lectures go over example problems and tests are not that bad as long as you do the HW's and practice she provides.

Math 233 is a very difficult course - luckily, Dr. Green is an amazing instructor, worth the 8 a.m. Watch her before class videos and review the book. If you understand those, you're good to go. Final is worth a lot (36%); personally, I wish quizzes/midterms/HW were worth a bit more considering the time they take, but overall fair.

100% take Prof Green if you have the option. She is an amazing professor and is clear when explaining concepts. Although she goes quickly in lectures, they are recorded so you can go back to them. Make sure that you understand the concepts because tests (36%) and the final (34%) are worth a lot. Overall I would highly recommend her!!

Linda really make calc easier by her printed-out class papers and recordings. You do need to practice more on homework like any other math classes, yet you can improve yourself by redoing homework. Exams come directly from class and review sheet so it's easy to get a high score! Linda is the best option for you if you are going to take MATH 233!

I wasn't doing well in the course because of family concerns but she was super helpful outside of the classroom and even emailed me when she calculated my grade and saw that I passed. Dr. Green is super caring and considerate. Math 233 is a difficult class, but Dr. Green stayed behind after class and offered review sessions before tests. If you do homework and pay attention in class, her tests aren't that bad. It's derived from classwork and examples we've looked at before. If you have to take Math 233, take it with her.

I liked Dr. Green! I did take calculus in high school, and I found this class to be very easy. She is super caring and accommodating, and she spends the first part of every class going over announcements and taking suggestions. I liked that I could print slides and take notes directly on them. Good choice for MATH 231.

Professor Green was not accommodating to students who had no prior background of calculus. Lectures consisted of few examples that did not highlight key concepts. It was extremely difficult to follow along with her going 100 mph. I DON'T recommend her unless you have a decent background of Calculus. Her class is not meant to be online. PERIOD.

Calc 1 is not fun. But Prof Green is the cutest, sweetest woman. She tells math jokes before the tests, and really makes sure you understand everything. She explains things very clearly. She wants you to succeed! You would want her as a mother/aunt/close female adult relative. Calc 1 would have been way worse if I didn't have her.

For a non-stem student MATH115 is a great choice, and Dr. Green is a helpful teacher. The class is relatively straightforward with assignments. Lowest quiz and homework grades get dropped (not sure if this is just a COVID thing). Only downside was the group project at the end. It was cool, but group projects on zoom are just generally more complex.

Seriously meant for people who aren't majoring in anything related to math and just need the QR credit. I bombed the ACT math section and still got an A in this class. 4 quizzes, lowest dropped, you take the quiz alone then as a group and your score is averaged. Final is an essay. She's also one of the sweetest professors I've had at UNC. 10/10!

Prof Green is super nice! To be blunt, MATH 115 is a joke lol - if you're not a stem major, I'd definitely recommend this class! I never showed up to class and still got a good grade. She ends up dropping so many quizzes or homework grades that it all works out. I would recommend doing homeworks on-time to avoid late penalties though!

I'm not usually into math but Dr. Green made the class super interesting with crafts and interactive activities. I expressed my struggles in understanding the material and I was asked "why?" and advised to "come to class and take notes". I took this class for a gen ed credit but mostly found Dr Green's lectures to be disoriented and all over the place. She often acted as if she didn't prepare for lectures herself. Linda cares a lot about what she does and provides lots of extra materials+ office hours to help us succeed. However, she goes over problems incredibly fast in class. If you're required to take Calculus 1 for any reason at all. TAKE PROFESSOR GREEN. Calculus (at any level) is known for being difficult at UNC and Dr. Green makes this class so much easier than I imagined. Enthusiastic professor who really cares about what she is teaching. Green does her best to engage with the class, even when they don't want to engage back. She uses a flipped classroom style, but it actually works because the before class material is short (10-15 minute video + 1-3 questions). She listens to us when we need her to slow down and she goes over material thoroughly in a way that is conducive for student learning.

Linda was ok. The lecture style is a bit all over the place and hard to understand esp for someone like me who likes to be clear and understand conceptual details. Homework takes forever (if you are like me), tests are graded roughly, recitation work everyweek(also graded),a quiz/week.Can never get a break to study or have any rest fro this class.

Prof. Green took over my section of 381H. +Good lecturer +Highly accessible out of class +Course grade curved by 5% with linear curve -Notes can be hard to understand -HW takes a lot of time and usually office hours -Final was extremely hard, 4 questions were dropped. Hard, but Prof. Green made her best effort to reward those in the class.

Although Discrete is a beast of it self especially Honors Discrete, Dr. Greene filled in and absolutely killed it as the professor. She is pretty engaging during class and all her notes are accessible and she is very good at communicating. 10/10 professor and I will very much take her future classes.

Prof Green stepped in for us and did great. Her lectures were engaging, sometimes it felt like she was going too fast but discrete itself is a challenging course and some homework questions were really challenging. She made our final really hard but dropped 4 questions from our final and provided a curve on top of that which was pretty incredible.

Linda Green was a great professor overall. While Discrete math can be challenging itself, she made sure to clarify concepts, offering support during office hours. Discrete math involves reading the textbook and doing many textbook practice questions. I would retake the class if needed and would make sure to take a proactive approach from the start.

Professor Green is awesome. She really wants us to succeed. The nature of the class is extremely challenging and her tests are HARD. However, she realized that the test was too long and curved the class and dropped problems. Homework is hard but she is very accessible in OH. She made the class difficult but rewarding.

One of the best math profs at UNC. She connects theory to computation so well. Tests are pretty challenging, but fair. Heavy on concepts so make sure to have a good understanding of that. She's so nice and really gets to know her students. Go to office hours! They're amazing. This class was a lot of work. A ton of assignments, but worth it.

Really engaging professor and encourages deep thought about the content. Pearson homework is burdensome and often irrelevant for tests. I would recommend grinding through her practice materials to grasp her style of problems. Definitely a great option at UNC, but I would mention Calculus 3 at UNC is much more strenuous compared to other colleges.

She filled in for our section which is commendable. Her curriculum pacing and materials are rough. I encountered many questions on homeworks and exams with an "I have no idea where to start" effect. Although honors should be rigorous, Dr. Green's "challenging" attitude is discouraging and places your self-esteem in the hands of a curve.

Linda Green is an excellent professor. She has made over 350 videos for students at all different levels of mathematics education and always stays a bit after class to answer students' questions. She does a great job making an infamously difficult class a little less difficult.

Hard class, excellent professor. Great lecture videos, fair tests+test correction opportunities, helpful in and outside class. The pacing of lectures was great, she obviously loves math and is very kind and likable in general. I never loved math but this was my favorite class this semester, and its all due to her teaching style; recommend 100%.

Dr. Green was a great professor for Calc 2 and I would recommend her to take her for any math class at UNC. She got better at explaining the concepts towards the end of the semester and she tends to move fast through content. Her exams could be hard, but if you put the work in to study you will do good on the exams.

She gives so much partial credit. She gave us opportunities to get points back on actual tests as well so it was easy to get As on the tests. She goes through lecture way too fast so it is hard to learn so you need to set aside time to go through the content by yourself. It is def a hard class but if you find patterns and memorize stuff, its ok.

Linda is awesome, she tries to engage with the class as much as she can though the class does not want to engage back. She even brought candy to try and increase class participation. The workload for her class is relatively low, as long as you read and pay attention to the lecture you'll be fine with the HW and tests. There's office hours too.

Lectures made zero sense, she moves at the speed of light. In my opinion, she is simply too smart to teach. She does provide videos which are helpful but often the homework is different from the videos. She is incredibly available outside of class though. Her office hours are so much better than class.

LIVE LAUGH LOVE PROF. LINDA ! Calc 2 is not easy to any extent, but Prof. Green is phenomenal at teaching. If you want an A, go to the Math Help Center, and form study groups. Doesn't do extra credit, but as long as you do ALL hw assignments and go to reviews you should be set. Final was the highest grade I got on any test, so an A is attainable

Very organized, sends out pdf slides so you can follow along with her notes and practice problems. Efficient and to the point. Tests and recitation could be challenging, but expected from calc 2. Not a class for those who do not like math. A is not hard, but grade highly dependent on amount of time spent studying. Homework problems take forever.

This class was the bane of my existence first semester. Came in thinking I was good at math. D on the first midterm. Linda Green lectures really quickly so learn the content from the textbook. Do all practice problems available to you. Otherwise the tests will have you cooked. Final was decently hard, but she curved it a lot.

She is very tough to follow. Many times, it seems that she has not gone through the required material until she is doing it in front of you in class. Took her class with 2 other professors and they barely even got to talk. I would run as fast as you can from taking this class, for a first-year Triple I it is absolutely ridiculous.

DO NOT TAKE THIS TRIPLE I. I do not usually complain about courseload, but I have a worse grade in this class than in my ECON101 class. This class is so unnecessarily difficult, and the homeworks are extremely challenging (questions made up by the professors, VERY unclear). It is quite unfair that this class is much harder than other Triple I's.

Don't take this class. It is the WORST. Homework is unnecessarily hard and they grade it harshly. For a triple I, they make it way too challenging. I have twice the amount of work for this triple I than my friends in other ones, which I think is unfair. She is very unclear in lectures and when you ask her questions (especially homework).

Professor Green is great. She gives clear lectures on math topics, and provides help outside of class. Unfortunately, she is the only clear lecturer, supportive professor, and fair grader in IDST 131; I do not recommend IDST 131. Linda is a sweet woman with passion for math, but the class was more difficult than needed. There are assignments due every day of the week except Saturday, with very few drops given. Randomly calls on students for answers, and exams were too long. This class wont kill you but it is not fun.

this class was supposed to be mathematics for data science yet they have somebody teaching it who has no idea about data science. I'm a senior at UNC and I've never gotten less than a B- I am fighting for my life in this class and miserable way too much bs for no reason and total lack of application to useful data science

Professor Green assumes you have as much knowledge as her when she's lecturing and moves extremely fast. Grading criteria is extremely murky and unclear. Homeworks were far too difficult and took hours more than they should have, just for me to get a poor grade. I do not recommend taking her classes.

Professor Green is very smart herself and learning the content she gave was fairly easy. However, she would often pass over material way too quickly, continuing with something new before 90% of the students were able to write down what she said previously. Outside of class, this proved to be a difficulty as most the notes she posted were illegible.

The best math professor in the math department, period. Dr. Green is very caring, is always shockingly fast to respond via email and has a lot of office hours slots. She remembers everyone by name and makes an effort to get to know her students. Discrete math is one of the hardest math courses for non-majors and she really made it a breeze.
