Handelman's a great professor, she's waaay better than these rating but you NEED decent writing skills to pass this class. If your willing to work hard this class is easy breezy. Pay attention, write notes, and take advantage of her office hours. oh yeah, BEWARE THE PORTFOLIO! The material pretty interesting. You'll have fun if your open minded. :]

Handleman's philosophy class is highly recommended. I looked forward to walking in her class every thursday. Her class is all about class discussion, written responses to the readings, and the PORTFOLIO (rewrites of the responses). She highlights the main points of each reading needed to write your rewrites, and takes time to answer any questions.

Those that have at least an average IQ you will definitely pass the class. I read and did the writings one day before it was due and thanks to her portfolio which are rewrites of the assignments, I was able to claim my A. The final is pretty much a reiteration of all the readings throughout the semester which she will explain to you in detail

Overall the class was pretty good. Sometimes she can get frustrating because she wants you to learn her opinion on the reading more than to formulate your own. The discussions were always really good though..and its true if you just do the work in the way she cleary states you will pass the class fine. I got a B overall.

BUT, I had an A for participation, A for presentation, & B for final & still failed because of rewrites. I don't recommend her, this is not intro. to philo. it is philosophy of Professor Handelman. Very opinionted & hers is ALWAYS "right".

If you want to learn anything about ethics, take the class with another professor. Unless she likes you, you will not pass this class. Her grading is terrible. You will be graded on how well you can recite back to her what she "taught" you word for word. Do not take this class with her or any for that matter. Awful professor.
