Hunter made me feel like I was in pre-school. I found her class to be a waste of time, simply because I felt that she was trying to win the class' affection and be popular rather than conveying the information. Granted, it was a first year class, but I thought that she owed more acknowledgement to her students.

Dr. Hunter is a magnificent professor. She genuinely cares about her students and their perceptions of the course. She ingeniously alleviates the somewhat dry subject matter with contemporary music and art. It makes a big difference. I’d take classes with her in the future, no matter the topic.

Professer Hunter is one of the most involved and fair proffessors I have had. Unlike many she actually cares whether the students do well and is very approachable if you need help. I wish I could have half the energy she does! Its been a great yearin her class!

She is lovely. Comments on her speaking manner are accurate though. MY problem is with the focus on women in soc sciences. they were not allowed to contribute equally to men, so why should they be studied instead of the men who actually founded what we're studying today? (i'm a woman btw) most of the materials are irrelevant, we are losing out.

Clear, makes AMAZING use of the texts, worth it to buy the book and read ahead. Her enthusiasm is infectious and her course is a pleasure to attend. If you show interest (ask questions, go to office hours), she reponds in a very helpful way. Sometimes speaks quickly, but her class notes are online. Awesome undergraduate counselor too.

Great professor! Had her for social deviance last year, and decided to double major CJPP with sociology because of her. Interesting to listen to, tries her best to make class interesting. Lots of video clips that she put in exams so GO TO CLASS and take note on the film. Lots of options on exams too. Favourite prof.

She is my absolute favourite prof at Guelph! Always excited, always interesting, and is excellent at using art, film, television clips, and other sources to supplement her lectures. Her lectures pretty much cover textbook readings, so go to class and you won't need to read as much. I would take another class from her in a heartbeat!

Extremely enthusiastic. Can be a bit rude at times. Her lectures jump back and forth a lot, which can be very confusing especially when referring to different time periods in history. However, her exams and assignments are extremely easy and it is easy to get a good mark in this class.

Her test are fair, she used the textbook a fair bit but her notes are't organized nicely

Love her! She gets really excited about what she talks about, so sometimes she speaks a little too fast. But if you ask her to slow down, she tries. She also pauses every once in a while and asks how she's doing. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

Hunter is extremely passionate about what she teaches and puts lots of effort into her lectures which I appreciated. She really doesn't tolerate students who are distracted in class, which leaves her lectures half empty most of the time, but going to class is really important with her. She is very fair with her grading, overall excellent prof!

She really puts a lot of thought into her lectures and makes them very interesting to learn. You do not need the textbook because she basically reiterates it in class. Also her friday classes were usually cancelled, I think we only had six friday classes during the whole year. Linda also provides study notes before a midterm. This class is so easy.

Hunter is a great Prof and always has interesting material for class. We even got into some interesting class discussions. The lectures were always to the point and relevant for midterms. We had class three times a week with a couple of Fridays for extra help days :)

Great at considering accommodations for students with disabilities and truly cares about her students learning. Very fair on exams and papers.

Dr. Hunter is definitely one of my favourite professors. The level of feedback and care put into the course are unlike any other I take. If you go to class, and actually do the reading, you will have no trouble at all. She is a very very fair grader and is always willing to lend a hand to her students!

Her lectures are fun and enjoyable but make sure that you pay attention as she likes people who participate and this could come in clutch near midterm season if you need extra help. Definitely keep up to date on readings because there is a lot of information in the readings that will be useful.

Is a great, and engaging prof. Very funny, and interesting lectures, and she manages to make less-than-interesting topics very compelling. Reading the book helps preface her lectures so definitely would recommend. She is also a really nice, and compassionate person in general, so asking questions is not as arduous

Prof. Hunter has a big personality which makes lectures fun, however, get caught texting or doing something she's not fond of, she will NOT hesitate to call you out. She is very caring in the sense that if she recognizes that you attend class and do your best, she will do everything she can to help (boost grade with good reason).

Prof Hunter is such a good professor. She really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Her classical theory though it was pretty boring she tries her best to make it interesting. I found the context to be difficult as I was not interested in it. Though, I definitely would take another class with her again amazing prof!

Although most people taking a SOAN course don't want to hear about history Linda does a good job at keeping it interesting and engaging. It definitely benefits you to come to the lectures because she provides alot of extra ideas and connectivity. She has consistent grading as gives you midterms back to be able to look them over.

Tried to make every class interesting, even though the content itself isn't. A few textbooks said you need to buy and read, however I just went to class and took detailed notes. Lectures are pretty detailed summaries of them anyway. Focus on learning the theorists if you take this course. A couple papers (can have a partner), 3 midterms and final.

She's straight up Excellent!

Professor Hunter is a LOVELY human being! She is nothing but kind and has made this semester (F20) so much better. She has been so generous with allowing us to have extensions on assignments and just an overall gem. 100% recommend.

The prof and the TAs were great this semester and were really understanding during this hard time. The class was very well-organized and expectations were clear. She's very knowledgeable about what she teaches :)

Professor Hunter is one of the best profs I've ever had. Her recorded lectures were a joy to listen to and she really did her best at making you feel like you were actually in a lecture hall. The lecture info was a great summary of the readings. She really knew what she was talking about and made sure the info was easy to learn!

You can tell she really cares about what she is teaching. Even in the recorded format, she is very enthusiastic and was able to keep my attention. She makes the content enjoyable. It is also clear that she cares a lot about students.

**COVID SEMESTER** Prof Hunter was such a great prof! She was honestly such a bright light during these dark times. Such a kind, thoughtful, and helpful prof. Course is relatively easy and comes with little homework. Definitely reccommend!

Professor Hunter, is honestly such an amazing person! The way she delivers the course online is so organized, and she is really passionate about what she teaches. She also really cares about the mental well being of her students! I definitely hope to have as a prof again!!!

Professor Hunter is a lovely professor, however, she is a very tough grader - or maybe that was the TA's. Her course was very interesting and the material was easy to follow. We had two term papers. This course was a full year as it starts in the fall and continues into the winter semester.

Professor Hunter was a good teacher. Once you get a hang of how she has her lectures laid out and how to take notes, the class will be much easier. Grading is a little tricky initially. 2111 is harder than 2112. She was understanding with accommodations, but I do find she talks quickly and jumps from point to point.

i loved prof hunter! it was clear she cared for her students and she even made an effort to get to know people. i had plenty of questions about the term paper and she was able to answer all of them and give detailed instructions. 2 midterms; one in person, one online. really easy if you study and pay attention in class! no final exam

Linda was a good prof. the course I took was very textbook heavy because we didnt always go through everything in the lecture and if you wanted to do good on tests you definitely have to read it and make your own notes. But she does make the lectures as fun and entertaining as she's able to

Love her! She always gave good deadlines (moved them even further back!), quick to respond to emails, overall a fun lady! She's extremely colorful and excited to be there even when it's a night class. She brightens the room with a pep in her step.
