This is an easy course to get through ,however the professor isn't organized at all. She doesn't make enough time for all the assignments to be done ,and she has stories for days about her private practice on class time.

Professor is excellent. she's gives open book exams, including the FINAL

She was an excellent professor, brought good atmosphere throughout the entire class, she made it fun, informative, but less stressful. Test are not easy, but if you read the book,you'll have no problem. Because the test are open book, there was no pressurein memorization, so I was able to actually learn and absorb more to what I was really reading.

Professor Mayer is an easy going teacher. I enjoyed her class even though I work full time. Ignore all the comment below~ just Believe me. if you have kids to take care of ,or have to work full time which you don't have enough time to study~ Take her class. You can get above an B,. Getting an A is hard though.

She is a very nice person, good professor and it doesn't take much to get A.

OMG ! She's simply GREAT ! Easy, funny, and has lot's of things to say about given subject ! All test are open book !! Only thing, are the projects and esays, lil bit too much, but overall O.K I was suppose to get B and she got me an A- :)

Her class is boring, however, her test r so easy that U don't even need 2 study. Open book test & answers R in order she also let's U use notes (U really need the book, not to study but to find the answers for the test) but, U will not need to take any notes trust me. It felt like having a break. Even better if is in the short section.

She's a great professor and very easy. This was like vacation for me. Easiest A of my life. Show up, listen, take the stuff seriously despite the ease and prepare to pass. She's a lovely person overall, I think. One of the best professors who doesn't live to bust your b@ll$

I love Prof. Mayers. She is the best at La Guardia! Very considerate and helpful. I love her class discussions. I learned a lot from her class. Celfones make her crazy and she will call your attention. I wish all professors are like her.

This is a wonderful professor!! Dr. Mayers is extremely friendly, fair, and understanding, and her pedagogy is clear and relevant to the material. Im an OTA major, and I truly hope to be able to take her again. Attendance is important, and as long as you show effort, she will do whatever she can to help you succeed in her class. I think shes a great professor! All her tests are open book and the questions are easy for the most part. You must have the textbook (for the tests) or print out the chapters she discuss in class but there is no need to take notes in her class. She also has a good personality. She can be boring at times.I would recommend others to take her class.

Prof. Mayers is probably one of the easiest professors I've ever had. She is very helpful if you are having trouble understanding the class, she's not very strict on turning in your papers but you must turn them in to get a grade of course. And all her 3 exams are open book! If you fail her class then you have no business being in college.

She is a great professor! Her tests are open book so they are easy. The papers she makes us write are pretty straight forward and is a lenient grader.

Easy A, great option for session II class. Tests r open book AND multiple choice so no need to take notes, just read text & then pay attention in class. Material & professor can be a bit dry at times & class is pretty disorganized. But overall, if u are in need of an A (nursing students!) and aren't especially interested in psych, this is ur class.

Class is extremely easy. Test are open books and can be a little challenge at times especially if you do not read the text at least ones. Class is not very much organize. Overall if you read the textbook, you will do fine in her exams. Easy A

Proffest Mayers is a knowlegable woman of Psychology however she moves very slowly. You NEED the text for her class. It's an easy A if you do the assinments!

she is a very caring professor, she understands that life happens but dont mistaken her niceness. She lectures alot and the textbook is a MUST! but other than that its a VERY easy course if u show up, listen && do the work ... && her tests are open book.

She is very knowledgable in developmental psychology. She does however, read from the textbook during lectures. Her exams are open book-but you do have to read the chapters because it is not direct questions. I would recommend her as a professor for this class

Professor Mayers is so sweet and nice. I took her for session two, and she was really easy. Listen, all you have to do is read the textbook and understand the material. And during lecture she goes over her whole exam, and what you going to be tested on, but you'll be safer by reading the textbook too. Because its a open book.

She is a great teacher, she shows material online to make things clear. She does not speak loud, so if you want to hear, sit in the front. Exams are open-book and multiple-choice. Unlike some comments, they are pretty easy if you know what to look for in the book. You don't need to have the hard copy of the book, you can bring electronic copy.

She's a very nice professor. Every easy to pass just read from the book and pay attention. Open book test a bit unorganized.

She's a good professor. The class was mostly out of the textbook so that's a must have, book or electronic. Only four exams and are open-book.

Would definetly take her again. Her lectures are awesome but you must pay attention to everything she says, taking notes are very important in this class, also READ THE TEXTBOOK! She doesn't like using powerpoint however I believe I learned alot more from her than my other professors who use powerpoint. Her tests are super easy and her essays too!

Professor Mayers is a great professor! I took her for two semesters back to back, SSY 101 & SSY 204. I barely have any complaints about her. Her exams are open book however you must still read the TEXTBOOK in order to pass. I had no papers assigned for SSY 101, and only one paper assigned for SSY240. Easiest class!

Professor Mayers makes the class very interesting, you wont want to fall asleep. When you are taking the OPEN BOOK exams on chapters you READ, the previous convos will help you out. I highlighted what I found important and was able to answer the questions easily. One paper throughout the semester.

Dr Mayer's teaching is interesting as she gives latest examples related our course which helps us understand more clearly. Reading the text and understand the concept is really important in her class as it's all open book text but questioned are based on how you really understood the concept...i feel like she let us work more which helps us more.

You will surely feel bored in class but it's ok because you can surely get A....... YES easy A A A A A A ... coz exam is open book .

She's a great professor, i believe all professors should be like her. she gives you the oppurity to learn. rather than all the other professors your intelligence is based on how well you do a test or how smart you are. Just keep up with the work in classs and read what she tells you, you'll do great in her class!

I enjoyed this class. Tests are open book but you need to understand to content to apply the knowledge. Questions will not be direct but if you understand you will know the correct answers. Does not make coming late an issue but she recognizes faces very quickly so she knows who s always there, and participates.

Professor Mayer is a sweetheart. She is extremely understanding and wants to see all her students succeed. She gives you many chances to pass. She is clear and has amazing stories to tell. I have enjoyed her class during the short 6 week semester and would absolutely reccomend her class to all students!

A real sweetheart. All tests are open book, even the final was take home. Interesting class although a little boring bc she reads straight from the textbook. Sits the whole lecture n writes a few words on the board so take notes or read the book. DO NOT USE YOUR PHONE. She will shame you in front of the whole class and stop the whole lesson! Easy A

Enjoyed her lectures, although some seemed silly. She loves to go off topic here and there, but they're all in some what related to the lectures. All exams are open book, but you do have to do some reading. Shes kind, and I would like to have her as a professor again one day.

She is a great professor. She introduces a book which can be found online. There are 4 open book tests, which are easy. of course, you need to do some study but believe me it is an easy A if you study. She is very sensitive regarding using a cellphone in class but it is not hard to put them aside. She uses videos from Youtube which i loved.

Professor Mayers is one of the best professor at LaGuardia, she explains everything clearly , and give helpful examples that we can understand. The text are easy if you read the textbook. She will give the opportunity to succeed in her class. Thanks professor Mayers, I learned a lot in this class.

Her lecturer class is boring but she always encourage student to study better and not worry about exams. There are 3 open book exams and 1 written exam, easy A because her exams are not hard unless if you read the book before exam. Great professor

Dr. Mayers tries her best to make the class as easy for you as she can. She didn't assign any homework, and all of her exams were open-book. Most of her class was lecture-heavy with some occasional videos.

Such a great professor! She explains and helps you understand the material. She loves participation and incorporates a lot of what is going on now into the lesson.

It was unfortunate the year I was taking her course was personally her toughest year. She was very apologetic to us, but she was still determined to teach our course as best as she could. She goes off tangents quite often, but they are usually decent to listen to. Her teaching style is old fashion, but doable. I would take her course again.

Professor Mayers made learning Psychology more interesting. I looked forward to her class every week. She shares videos that help reiterate concepts and various psychological studies from the past. She enjoys class participation and is very clear on test dates and material covered. Show up to class and read the book and you'll pass no problem.

Prof. Mayers was great. I really loved the material she would show us and the conversations she would bring up were really interesting. For exams, be ready to read but thankfully her exams were open book. As long as you pay attention and participate in class, you should do well in your papers and exams.

Not a lot of work. She just says to keep up with the readings, and she's right. If you keep up with the reading and notes you'll pass with flying colors. Especially because each test is open note. She only assigned one homework, and there are four tests, and that's all that determines your grade. Just take notes and it's easy.

I had the pleasure of having this professor during my last semester at this college. She assigned one homework and all of her exams were open book. Shes very kind and caring. The only negative thing I would say about her is that she responds to emails very late. Other than that shes a wonderful professor. Show up to class and participate.

Dr Mayers is such a wonderful example of an educator who cares. She gives great lectures and really appreciates class participation. It's easy do the reading and you will pass. Her exams are multiple choice and open book. She wants everyone to pass, I really enjoyed her class. She made me wish my major was Psychology. Thank you Dr Mayers!

Linda was such a caring professor she was always available after class to speak. She asks the class their preference on assignments and tries to make everyone feel comfortable.

While Dr. Mayer's tone could be better, that shouldn't be centered. She is an excellent lecturer, has great discussions, supplements her classes with lots of videos, doesn't give hw and is an easy class to take. If attending LAGCC, take during any 2nd session; tests are open book if online. Pay attention, have fun with discussions, and you'll pass.

I would take her again, all test are open book, no homework, as long as you pay attention the class is super easy with her.

She is really a good professor. I took her for SSY 101 and I'm taking her online class in second session for SSY 240. Her exams are open book and very easy. She shows video which makes the class more interesting. Definitely take her you wont regret. One of the best professor I had in first semester.

Great professor! All exams were open book, so as long as you did your part in reading the textbook and taking notes, you were set. Exams were closely related to the lectures and she would include videos to help you understand the content

Professor Mayers makes the class engaging with helpful videos. As long as you do the readings and take notes, the open-book exams are a breeze. unstuck AI was a great study aid too.
