Grades according to a curve of 92% for an A-. Class is not as bad as others...but not one of the best either. Overall, an o.k. professor.
didn't like her class at all--she was very very picky on plagerism and "incorrect or unauthorized borrowing" it was senseless..we're in college not high school! took too long to grade papers because of her "plagerism" fetish.
She was horrible. I didnt like her at all. She wasnt quite helpful either. She made us watch a whole bunch of stupid movies and it was boring. She didnt seem to know how to answer questions when asked. this class was just plain boring.
She's very nice and lenient. She's also very approchable and reasonable. I enjoyed her class even though there's a lot of homework and essays to do. You just have to make sure you do all your work in class. But over all she's a good teacher.
She does not answer questions from students very clearly. She is fake and its shows when she tries to understand her students. She is lazy and does not prepare a curriculum for the class, just dives into a discussion with no real depth or direction. Entry level teacher.
Teacher was late to class daily, but never missed a session. Slacked on grading papers, and returning them to students. Allowed people to not bring drafts, but still expected groups to benefit by working together. Lazy.
She rounded my 88% in the class up to an A, she's good in my book. Just come to class regularly and get your essays in on time, and you'll be fine.
To sum up her class in one word: Boring. If you like comments and feedback and one-on-one opportunities, then this teacher is not for you. She didn't seem to care much at all that her students weren't following what she was "teaching".

OMG!!!! Worst teacher of my life. I am learning more from my mom then her!!!
SHE IS HANDS DOWN THE WORST TEACHER IVE EVER HAD....DO NOT TAKE HER ENGLISH CLASS
No Comments
i wouldn't recommend her.she's not approachable and it doesn't seem like she likes to answer students questions.and if you do take her, a word of advice don't forget to quote one word because she'll totally trip.she's VERY obsessed with "plagiarism".
By far the best teacher for English 300. I enjoyed her class and felt she was quite helpful! She does grade hard, but that made me proud of my A in her class. It was not an easy A, that is for sure!
She is tough!! However, I think she is a great teacher for just that reason. She really pushes you to improve your writing and reading analysis skills. And, she doesn't miss a thing when she grades papers, either; some may not like that fact. She really encouraged everyone to write well-crafted papers. I am proud to have earned an A in her class.
She took a risk of using a new textbook. The textbook was a great way for us to become better writers. She used different techniques to better our skills in reading and writing. I hated to write and did not know how to make a thesis statement before her course.
Linda Sneed is an AWESOME teacher! She's tough, but I learned a lot from her. She started a new book, and it was fantastic! She's very helpful, and when she sees you're trying, she jumps right in there with you to help! I got an A in this class, but I worked really hard! I think she's a fantastic Professor!
Ms. Linda Sneed does not want to anwser any of your questions at all. She kind of gives you a look like you are suppose to know it. Her essay arent that bad but she is a hard grader, she likes to pick on the little things. I would not recommend her!
DON'T DO IT. I have always done well in English classes until this one. But maybe that's because the entire class time was spent with me thinking how I would give her a makeover.
easy as hell but also dreadefully boring as hell
As far as my grade was concerned, the little assignments WOULD HAVE made the difference between an A and a B, but I didn't do a lot of them. Since I didn't even try very hard on the essays and still got good grades on them, it goes to show you how important the daily assignments she gives out are. Just make sure to not look her in the eyes. Don't.
She was very helpful.Fair grader but lectures are kinda boring. Down to earth and warm personality. COme to class & finish up all asignments.Work hard and you'll get the grade you want.
A pretty good teacher, the lectures are rather boring and don't help very much, but individual conferences help a lot. She's also willing to send feedback any time you request it on and essay, which is always good to have if you're looking on becoming a good writer...or want a REALLY good essay!
If you like to think and write you'll have no problem with this class. Prof Sneed is pretty smart and open. Her prompts and reading selections were better than most English classes I've taken over the years. Class discussion could be improved, was rather boring imho. A lil disorganized and late sometimes but lets you redo assignments/turn in late
This is the worst proffesor I have had so far! She does not return assignments, and never does what she says she will. I would never take another class from her again, and I love English!!
She goes off on useless and unecessary tangents. Poor use of class time.
This teacher was TERRIBLE. She never returned work and always told you if you returned it she never recieved it. You had to get on her constantly in order to get any work back. Her work may be easy but I never knew my grades on any assignments because SHE NEVER RETURNED THEM. Also she was very unclear and incomprehensible the majority of class.
GREAT Professor! Extremely helpful and understanding. Really serious but with a qorky sense of humor!
Great Professor. Took her for a 2nd 8wk course. Ton's of writing BUT she was extremely helpful and understanding!
This teacher is absolutely the worst teacher I do not reccomend her once so ever!! One day I came to class, the teacher cussed me out along with several others! All because we asked her what an academic source was. Also she will never return anything to you on time, is a complete slob, and is so ridiculously boring!! Do not take her class seriously!
If you want to get an F go for it. The worse teacher ever, never return works back.
I wouldn't reccommend Sneed. She is very angry at the world becuz of her appearance and took it out on a couple that was in love in my class & ended up takin it out on anybody who was friends with them. She cussed at us and never returned anything!Grades very biased after she decides she doesn't like you.So take her only if ur prepared to kiss butt.
if u want 2 lower ur GPA go for it. but, i will say this. she is extremelyyyyyy helpful if u go to her office hours to get help on essays or other writing assigments.
I took her over the summer and she was quite easy. Very laid back, helpful in many ways, and really wants to help for the best. She might take awhile to give your essay results back to you...but overall...she's cool. Just so you know...be prepare to be there for every minute of class. She uses her time wisely. If you have her...HAVE FUN!
Linda is a VERY, VERY angry, hateful person! Totally horrible to deal with her! If she decides she doesn't like you, she hates on you! She can't be bothered to give you your work back. Acts like you're a pain in the a**, and she even liked me! She makes you HATE class!!!
I loved her! she is the best english teacher i had. Very easy and yet taught me a great deal. Many people dont like her and i cant understand why. I took her for both my mandatory English classes and got an A both times. I was out of school for 5 years and she was able to help me get back into the academic environment. i recommend.
Hate her!! She talks about allowing you to express yourself, but then you do she grades you low for doing so!! Never return my work, never responded to my emails, never in her office during SCHEDULED meetings, and lost most of my work!!
Ok so she is a little mean to people sometimes. And overreacts when people are talking when shes talking or even looking at their phone. But shes really easy. Doesnt keep up with grading much, but grades really easy. I missed class alot, just turned in my papers on time and got As and Bs on them. Very easy!
She's very nice and wants to help. At times she overloads herself when trying to help too mnay students with their essays, but she is really laidback with when you turn in your essays as long as you consult with her personally. The books we read are very interesting. I recommned ACTUALLY reading the books. Makes essays much easier ro write.
She's a nice professor, and really does want to help out. She provides plenty of opportunities for you to come see her for help. My only problem, is that the whole class, and everything we wrote about is centered around the Middle East, and its relationship with the US. This got old really fast. Even still, I recommend her for Engwr 300.
boring
If your interested in learning about Iran and you do not mind that your work will not be returned or graded in a timely manor or if you do not need or want feed back on your drafts so you can improve your work she is the teacher for you. If you want or need timely feed back, RUN to another teacher you won't get it from her.
If you want to learn about US/Iranian relations take her class. If you do not want or need feed back on your drafts take her class. If you want to grow in your writing, do not take her class.
just don't take her. She's nice but it's not worth it
she isnt very understanding, she wont excuse absebces for any reason, if you take her be prepared to be in class everyday or else you will miss something, no late work excepted.
I like her class because she understands what I try to prove in my essay. Another thing I like this class is she talks about how to write and read in a systematic way according to the text book. Most of them I've already learned from the previous time but this is a new, fresh approach. no in class essay :)
NEVER gives drafts or any work back. Said her car got stolen w/ all of our work in it. Others have commented that she gives NO feedback, and no drafts & has lost papers EVERY semester. Why hasn't anyone complained 2 the DEAN! If U ask her about it, she will give U a bad grade. DO NOT TAKE HER! Ur GPA will B lowered! SERIAL PAPER LOSER. Unorganized!
Very NICE!! SUPER HELPFUL! She is always making her self available. She may get off topic in her lectures but she is a great professor and I am going to keep taking her classes.
Each person has different mind, I think. I totally disagree with any harsh comments on her. I took her engwr 300 on Spring 2012. We only have to write 3 pgs per essay. Final exam is just 15 questions with short answers. Just finish my final today and it unbelievable EASY! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!
Horrible. Don't waste your time with this teacher. She's not reliable in getting your work back to you so you can see what you need to fix, confusing to listen to, absent a lot, not very much help at all. I asked her once for some clarity on a paper and she told me to find the answer myself. Don't take her, find a teacher that will work with you.
She is very cool with assignments, and is very flexible with due dates. One problem, was that she was VERY slow to get our work back, especially assignments she said we can redo for better grades. She is decent enough and the class structure is decent enough for an English class.
By far the worst English course I have ever taken. She was completely disorganized, missed a lot of classes, and barely anyone knew what was going on. She also had a pretty bad attitude, and was rude to students. Pick any other professors, this one is not worth it
Do not take this professor. Very lazy, misses many days, unorganized. Very difficult grader in regards to papers. Assignments end up being crammed together b/c she misses so many days and due dates become confusing. Can come off as rude. Honestly take someone else.
Worse English professor. She's not clear with what she wants you to write on your papers, never returns graded assignments. You can tell she's lazy. Always wants the students to do group work and talk about the essays we written, which is not very helpful. She's goes off topic a lot. She is so confusing to understand.
Worse English professor. She's not clear with what she wants you to write on your papers, doesn't return graded assignments. You can tell she's lazy. Wants the students to do group work and talk about the essays we written, which is not very helpful. She's goes off topic a lot. She is so confusing to understand.
A very passionate and helpful teacher. She's open to every students level of writing and she ALWAYS offer her office hours availability to students who may need help outside of class. TONS of extra credit is given in this class. It's almost impossible to fail.
Okay, So Linda is strong with her vocabulary usage so this by far may confuse some students. However, she grades based on instructions and not her personal opinions. She is kind. You can learn a lot from her if you take the time to utilize her office hours or be an actively engage in class discussions.I received an A in class Su 2014. Recommended
Really surprised by all the negative comments here. I think Linda is a pretty solid professor being that she is very understanding to her students. She also seems like she has a lot of passion towards her profession, and is always willing to help if you ask. The only con is that she does take a while to grade and give back papers.
Super easy class. She does assign a lot of work but they are all easy and do-able. First writing class that i got an A at, and i struggle a lot when it comes to writing. She is very helpful and willing to give feedback. She is an easy grader as long as you follow her writing assignments.
Do NOT take her. She grades way too hard. I wish I could have dropped her when I had the chance. She seems nice but is very unreasonable when it comes to grading.
Her class is easy and her feedback is helpful. I enjoyed the text materials that she chose. She engaged the class to a level that was helpful
Professor Sneed is very nice but can be confusing on her assignments she hands out as well go off topic. If you go to her for help she's more then happy to help! If you want to pass I would definitely recommend doing that. Also if you don't mind not getting your work back then she is the perfect professor for you! Toughest class I've taken.
Wouldn't recommend it. She never gives back papers. Essay prompts are a little over the top.
Prof. Sneed is an amazing and inspiring professor. She really wants her students to learn and is interested to what they have to say. She stimulates her class to think about interesting and relevant ideas or topics. I thoroughly enjoyed her class and was inspired to read more about world news and current affairs. I've learned a lot from her class.
If lectures put you to sleep, this definitely not the class for you. Tends to repeat herself quite a lot so that you fully understand the material. She is organized, but does not hand papers back in time to know what you need to fix on your assignments. Also there for you out of school hours to give you feedback on your work if it is needed.
Awesome Professor. Actually takes time to make sure you understand the material of what she's teaching and strives to help you rather than burden you. Lots of writing but no tests (besides a final), but you have tons of help from classmates and also from her. She's THERE for you to succeed so take advantage of it if you end up taking this class.
I think that professor Sneed is an amazing professor. I would take any class that she teaches. She has made writing so much fun and learning things that i would normally think is boring she has made fun.
Professor Sneed is very organized. Follow the schedules she gives you and you will stay on track. Make sure to take advantage of the extra credit as it will help in the end. Class is easy if you do your assignments and pay attention to the feedback she gives on your papers. She does keep track of attendance. She also likes when people participate.
She is a good english teacher. She is lenient when it comes to extending the papers. She takes a long time to grade papers though. She does listen to the class if they want to write a paper on a certain topic. She is a tough grader though. Just do all the homework and extra credit and you'll be fine. Would recommend.
She is amazing teacher with her dedication on teach. She always tries to help, so come to her office. She cares about her studies as much as you can image. She grades a little bit late since she spends a lot of time to help student's drafts. Highly recommended.
She wasn't really organized, her lectures were pretty boring and didn't have much to do with writing. We had to buy 3 books, only 1 of which was used, and I only read half of it. We had 4-5 essays or so. If you failed an essay she gave you a chance to rewrite it. She really picked on me for some reason, sometimes in a weird way. I'm ESL, got a B.
Linda is a real nice professor and she wants to help all students. However, she assigns way too many petty assignments; so you do have to show up to get points. She's terrible when it comes to giving back work, especially essays. You won't get your essay back before the next one is due. Just do the hw & add effort to your essays & you should pass.
She is a really good professor. She did take her time in grading and giving back papers. I really did like her because she would understand if I couldn't turn papers in on time. She does give a lot of essays but it is a writing class. She really wants you to understand and write in your own style
This course requires 3 separate books, and they will be barely used. Class time is just group discussion and is not helpful at all. Unless you like politics and economics DO NOT take this class. Essay topics are too much and take very long to be graded. Homework is busy work, but is graded very harshly. In short, would not take again or recommend.
Took her over the summer, really easy writing class compared to other professors, easy A if you do all your work, 3 papers, can earn up to 15% of grade through extra credit , a few quizzes, a lot of informal writing usually less then a page but you get full credit just for doing it so you must be in class because no late work. Definitely take her.
Easy class because of all the extra credit but the lectures are long, boring, and irrelevant but at least she's super sweet and understanding.
She is very boring and attendance matters. She offers alot of extra credit.
I took her for english 302. Her class is really easy, only 3 graded papers on which she offers like 20% extra credit on each paper. There are daily assignments but you get full points for doing them. The class gets boring because she talks a lot but it's really easy so definitely recommend taking her. She doesn't deserve all the bad reviews
Linda was very sweet and understanding! She often extended deadlines for papers to give her students more time. If youre just trying to get through English for your graduation/transfer requirements TAKE THIS CLASS! if youre actually interested in learning English and writing papers, do not take her. Definitely an easy A and offers extra credit!
She is a nice teacher that offers a lot of extra credit. But her lectures are irrelevant and boring which makes the class go really slow.
she is a nice instructor, but I am not happy with her grading and teaching skills, she takes plenty of time grading assignment, and If you ask her for feedback you would never get it unless your lucky, and that is one thing that really annoyed me.
Professor Sneed was really nice and caring. Her class is really easy, but her lectures are really boring and time goes by really slow. You have to show up to class because she assigns assignments and does not accept late work. 3 papers in total and she extended the deadlines. Lots of extra credit. Ignore the bad reviews and definitely take her.
Professor Sneed is a really nice and caring professor. Her class is really easy, but her lectures are a little boring. You must always show up to her class because she assigns assignments and does not accept late work. I honestly learned a lot form her class.
Easy class but her lectures are boring & it took her forever to go over one thing. Classes felt like forever. She went over the syllabus way too much & it took her almost the whole semester to grade the essays. She pushes back a lot of due dates though & gives extra credit for the simplest things.
She is a really sweet, and caring professor. her lectures are a bit boring
Very respectful, cares about your grade, has extra credit opportunities, and if you get lucky shell bring snacks!
She is one of the best professor here at CRC, she give extra credit, detailed feedback, unlimited time, spends out side the class time to make you learn and accomplish your goals. she even prints the chapters of the book for you to use which never no other professor is doing that for you. easy A. I am enrolled in her 302 class too.
Don't know why there's so many people heavily criticizing her but, in my opinion, I thought that she was a great teacher who respected every ounce of your being and I really mean it, whenever we needed help she was there, let us write about what we wanted rather than what she did and I really praise that. Amazing teacher, would take again. Easy A+.
An amazing professor. So understanding of online struggles and having other classes. She cares a lot about her students and genuinely just wants to help. We didn't do a lot of work in this class and it was mostly quick discussions. She had us take a survey at the beginning to see what we wanted to learn and what day was best to turn in things.
She is a stellar asset to CRC. Great papers and projects. Keeps it light, flexible on due dates, very helpful, cares about all students. Gives extra credit, will loan books if needed, Available outside of class and scheduled work hours. Great listener! Would highly recommend her for students who struggle with being kept interested in class.
I love the feedback she gives on assignments. Professor Sneed makes sure that her students arent stressed or frustrated in the class. Allows people to think and write creatively and at their own pace. Highly recommend!
Professor sneed really cares about her students and respects that we also have obligations outside of school if ever we can't turn something in. She accepts late work without point deductions and she is not at all strict when she grades. She gives amazing and thorough feedback on all of our work and she gives so many extra credit opportunities.
Caring professor, easily accessible and understanding outside of class but she is very unorganized. She was rushing towards the end of the semester to complete work and grade.
Assignments seem fit for elementary school students, example of this is discussions and essay on vocabulary words. she should be an elementary school teacher.
Professor Sneed is one of the best English professors I have ever had. She truly cares about her students and does not want to overwork them. She makes sure to always give feedback on every assignment turned in and is always happy to help. I would absolutely recommend anyone to take her class!
she is really kind and well respected. She respect each students and their time. She values her students and really cares about her students. Always asking about the situation her students going through and trying her best to help physically and mentally. Love her soo much. She really her students and respect them. Can't say enough of her.
Professor Sneed is a very caring and understanding educator. A few things to note though. She took a very long time to grade most of the assignments she gave our class. Class is mandatory attendance, but it was a waste of time to attend as it was almost never useful information. Do all the assignments for an easy A.
Professor Sneed truly cared about her students and understands that we have things going on in our lives outside of school. She is flexible with deadlines, offers plenty of extra credit opportunities, and encourages students to write about topics that interest them. I highly recommend her class.
This professor is great professor. Easy class, easy A. She is so caring, she wants her students to pass the with A. But you need to show effort if you want the professor to care about you. 100% Recommended.
ONLINE CLASS: Recommended by my sibling and partner, she's a great person! Allows tardy work and will reach out if assignments aren't completed! Overall very sweet and organized!
Her class is really easy, BUT SHE is super boring. She is very flexible with deadlines. Only 3 essays throughout the entire semester. A lot of what is talked about in class can be done online. The class is just really boring and she rambles a lot when she talks.
Sneed is a kind, caring professor who really cares for her students. She's very flexible with due dates and doesn't assign much homework; however, you do engage in class a lot and discuss numerous relevant topics. I would highly suggest taking her class if you have other obligations in you life or if you need to prioritize other important classes.
I'm definitely not a person that is strong suited in writing, but the way Sneed conducted the class made it much bearable. The assignments (formal assignments) could be completed easily with an A if you followed the spirit of the directions, and put your own true thoughts in them. Sneed also gives feedback on almost every assignment.
Be prepared for her political opinions to be 99% of the class and for her to teach you only left side material. Be prepared to be mocked for being of Caucasian decent. Very inappropriate.
She's an alright teacher. She gives high school teacher vibes. Her class isn't that difficult, as long as you turn in your work, you get credit. She's flexible with late work as well. I did all the assignments except for the last 3, which resulted in an 85% overall.
When there's a paper, you get many rough drafts to receive feedback. Her feedback was okay, to be honest. Didn't feel like I learned much from her lectures, but she takes attendance. Super easy class though
No textbook, but she had you do so much research for your papers. Her feedback on rough drafts were good but didn't make sense sometimes. I had the morning class and she showed up sometimes a few minutes late even though she was already on campus, just in her office.
She is super nice, and super understanding when it comes to missing class and family issues. Her assignments weren't super thought-provoking or hard but I had a great time. Feedback is eh but you don't really need it. Would take her again 100 times.
I found her to be a very easy going and like-able teacher. She cares about her students and really values our input as equal contributors of her class. Its nice to participate to get your perspective out there because she always validates it. She exposes us to real world issues through literature to help you see injustices in society today.
Sneed is amazing. She cares a lot about her students. It tend to get quiet a bit during lectures if you get bored easily but she's definitely someone I'd take for my english classes. She make's things clear and she's understanding. Class wasn't hard at all, felt like high school.
Linda is amazing. She cares about her students and really listens to their opinions in class lectures. She doesn't give much homework and makes class easy to understand. She makes sure to give the class time before final essays are due. She feels like a high school teacher, in a good way. She also gave extra credit for coming early to class.
I took her for ENGWR301 and I highly recommend to take her if you still need to get that class out the way. She didn't assign much homework, no group projects, 2 essays to do, and no presentations. She gives students a lot of freedom to decide what they want to do in class. This class was really easy, just show up and ask for help if you need.
Professor Sneed is a great English teacher and really focuses on advancing the student's freedom in writing papers. A really big point throughout the entire semester is moving away from typical five-paragraph-essays. She makes instructions very clear, and if you don't understand something just ask. Respect her and she will respect you.
Professor Sneed is a great English teacher and care about her students.
super nice and cares abt her students. lectures were superrr boring tho, she tends to talk a lot about meaningless stuff. started grading for attendance bc more than half the class stopped showing up bc lectures were just so pointless. constantly late to lectures and takes extremely long to grade assignments.
Linda regularly brings her personal political views into lectures and often goes on irrelevant tangents, is always late to 10:30 AM class, and likes to post "check-in assignments" during the last 5-10 minutes of class. This often felt like a waste of time. If you have other classes, you may find it difficult to justify prioritizing this class.
I was surprised by how easy this class was. There were two major assignments, both of which she gave time in class to work on. We read a bunch of interesting poems and articles with no grade attached to doing so. She provided useful resources and was lenient with deadlines. If you just show up and do what little is asked of you, you will get an A.
