BEST TEACHER EVER!!!!!! She is the easiest class to pass, it pays to come to class EVERYDAY not only that she's interesting, if you come on the study guide she PRACTICALLY gives the test out. The papers are fun. TAKE HER WITH ALL MEANS and avoid taking Dr. Payne for Brit Lit.

Some people say she's crazy, but I loved her. I thought she was very interesting even if she's a little flighty. Seriously the easiest class ever. Basically all you have to do is show up for most of the classes and you get an A.

Very Enthusiastic about her subject. You can tell by the way she teaches she doesn't get tired of repeating herself. She's fair in grading and loves to read good papers. She is awesome! At first i felt like i was taking a class with a kindergarten teacher. But she tries so hard to help her students it is insane. She will help as much as you need. I went to the library to get help from her on sundays and it definitely helped. It is your fault if you do not make an A in this class. Great teacher Take Her!

if you miss elementary school take this class! teacher is nice in a grandma sort of way, but she assigns lots of busywork, lots! also she is easygoing on the grading compared to what she says in class, but does not seem to expect much out of her students beyond participation.

All I have to say is "TAKE HER!!!" She is an awesome teacher. Such a pleasant lady and gives points away like they are candy. Coming to class is important b/c she gives lots of attendance points and her test are directly from her lectures.

A fantastic lady. Too republican for my taste intellectually but literature wise, she speaks the language fluently. Sit back and listen to her talk, she explains the crap that old english people wrote and the things that she gets excited about are on the test. Be nice to her, she really is kind and fair. No essay tests either.

She's a great teacher. She's funny, concerned for her students, helpful, and gives advice when it's asked for. She is fair in grading and attendance and gives rewards for coming to class. She will tell you exactly what she wants from a paper. Take her if you need to take English. I'll be taking her again for Literature. She's a gem.

Linda Spain is by far the BEST professor at South Al. If u fail this class it's bc you did not do a single thing. She gives TONS of bonus points, and her tests are 100% based off her lectures. Just come 2 class, take notes, study the notes and you'll pass with an "A." She explains poems n detail 2 where u understand. I am going to miss this class!!

She is a great teacher. If you don't understand something, she is very hands on to make it easier for you to understand. Don't just take her because people say she is easy, she does grade the criteria as well. As long as you follow her instructions you should be fine. She is very helpful with getting your writting idea on paper as well.

I had her for EH 215 and 216. She is a wonderful teacher who is willing to help students. You need to write notes to get a good grade and this needs perfect attendance every class.

GREAT Instructor! Attend class, take LOTS OF NOTES! All material on tests is taken from lecture. Take notes, go to class, pay attention, and you will make an A. A few papers to write, but she gives detailed prompt hand-out. If you follow directions you will do well. One of my all-time favorites! Would take her again for anything!!

She was a nice teacher, however, she grades really hard. I suppose the hardest part is knowing what she wants from your paper. She makes corrections how she would write the paper, not considering your style. Overall, she is a good teacher. I learned a lot.

If there’s any teacher I’d say you should take, it’s her! Spain reads the stories to you during class, leaving minimal work to be done outside of class. The class consists of three exams (one being the final), a final paper, and attendance. Provides a 30 point bonus opportunity at the end of the course. Very easy and entertaining course! Loved it!

Dr. Spain was a fantastic professor. I exempted EH101 due to my ACT score so this was my first experience with a college level English course. She assigns 5-6 papers during the semester, but gives at least two weeks to do them and will review and revise them with you. Extra credit is given for perfect attendance. She truly cares about her students.

She's a great teacher. She gives clear guidelines on what to expect, and is willing to help you develop, or decide, on a topic. She does make you work for your grade, however if you do the work how she wants it then there isn't a problem. She assigns 6 papers, but you are given at least a week and a half for each one.

She was a great teacher! Assigns 5 papers during the semester. Barely any homework. She's a tough grader, but if you follow her instructions you should do well! Gives extra credit for attendance. She's very helpful when you're working on your papers. Very slow at putting grades online, but returns papers quickly. Definitely would recommend!

I enjoyed taking Spain for 102. The only thing I would warn is she is not specific with anything at all and is very unorganized. However, she is a very hilarious teacher, and she is there for you. But very tough grader. I would recommend.

This class is super boring. she basically reads to you the entire class. no homework. there are 3 test and a paper no quizzes. test are all from notes so basically write everything she says down. It was literally hard to stay awake in the class, but easy. Really caring professor.

Dr. Spain is amazing. As a freshman student going to school so far from home I was worried I would get here and have no adult guidance. I was wrong. She was SO helpful. If you write a paper poorly or incorrectly she gives you the chance to rewrite if it was evident that you tried. Email her ANYTIME and she will get back to you ASAP. Best ever!

Professor Spain was an amazing professor and I'm sad to say that she is retired now and does not work at the University anymore. Her classes were always so informative and she brought a sense of joy to learning a subject that I was not really interested in. The exams that she gave were never hard and the material on them were from her lectures.
