She is a really subtly funny person. Be sure to sit where you will be able to see the demonstrations. She is willing to help, just don't be afraid to ask. Don't miss discussion, it is where I learned the most.

Can you possibly make chemistry any easier? Offers oodles of extra credit, drops your lowest quiz. A lot of the questions on the practice test are word for word the same as the real tests. She's very funny looking and has an unusual voice, which is somewhat entertaining.

She is a great teacher! There is no way you could do bad in this class. She lets you retake exams, drops a couple low quizes,and gives you cheat sheets for exams. I used to be scared of chem but she made it better. Plus she is a good teacher and funny as heck!

Excellent lab professor.

I really liked her. There were over 150 kids in my lecture and she knew everyone by name! She reviews for EVERYTHING that is graded. The last time I had CHM was about 4 years ago, but the class went really well by how she taught it.

I am terrible at math which has made Chem really hard for me. I have taken this class twice and I really think I might even be taking it a third time...but I keep taking Stevens as a prof because she is very helpful and wants you to understand. She is a wonderful teacher I recomend her to anyone :)

If you need help, she is there to help, but I think has a hard time slowing down to let people catch up if they don't understand. I personally liked her a lot. A lot of opportunity for extra credit...I ended up with almost 100% oin the class thanks to the e.c.

She is just a great chemistry prof. She explains the material well and gets to know everyone's name. She also makes lecture really fun. You have a great time. So far, she's my favorite prof. Her wardrobe keeps you entertained as well.

She is a great prof. I would recommend her to anyone. Sometimes it felt like we were moving a little fast, but just study your notes and you'll do fine. Watch the tests, they can be tricky, but she offers a lot of extra credit which helps out alot.

Stevens was an excellent chem. prof. She had great examples during lectures. Giving us pre-tests was great, that way we had a good idea of what we needed to know. She was always available if a student was having trouble and really wants her students to do well.

Professor Stevens is an excellent teacher. She knows the material and teaches it very well. She is VERY helpful and really takes time to get to know each and every student. She wants everyone to do well in her class. I HIGHLY recommend her for anyone taking this class!

this is the only thing that made chemistry bearable for me. after i finished my lab, i would ask her questions from my lecture that i didn't understand. i went to her office hours and if i couldnt make it to her office hours, i called her and she called me right back with an answer...great prof...take her!!

She was an excellent professor. I hate Chemistry and I was really hoping to get a B in the class, yet going to lecture and doing very little of the reading I actually came out with an A. I would highly recommend her.

Great Prof. If you had a question she would stop and answer and explain the material more. Always available for OH. Do the q's at the end of each chapter before the quiz. same q's, just different numbers...Take her if you can

She is a great prof! She made one of my least favorite subjects in high school to one of my favorite classes in college! She goes out of her way to help you and is always willing to meet with you outside of class! Take her for Chem- you'll love her!

An A guaranteed... although the quiz before lab can have tricky questions. Lab reports are graded very easy.

She's awesome! All of the other students I have talked to complain about their chem profs but Stevens was great! She gives rediculous amounts of extra credit and candy before every exam. The third exam was tricky though. She is very helpful and learns everyone's name, even in our huge lecture. Just go to class and you'll do fine.

Great professor. Knows what she's talking about and is always willing to help/clarify when you need it. Print out notes before class...she lectures from the notes and they are pretty clear. Lots of extra credit opportunities and cool experiments during lecture. Nice and friendly woman.

I had her during the semester when her husband died, and she was a great prof despite that. If she can teach that well during a rough time, I can imagine that during a better time, she would be GREAT. I recommend taking her class.

A terrific teacher. Very understanding, she let me take quiz early becuase I had a mip court date the time of quiz. She makes sure you know everything and wants you to know everything. Will vary the speed of class depending on topic. Highly recomended.

She is a terrific teacher. Very helpful, and make sure that when she answers questions that you understand. She is also very understanding...I had a lot of medical issues, and she helped me work around and get different lab times. Get her if you can!

Great professor. Very helpful and caring. She wants her students to understand Chemistry and will give all the help you need! Tests are sort of hard.. but she gives extra credit to make up for that! I would definitely recommend her. Attend lectures because it definitely helps!!

Prof Stevens is great! She puts notes on bb for you and always has extra credit for tests, quizzes every week but they are easy. She often does interesting demos in lecture and she's very organized and very clear when she explains things. She will go over things over and over again until she's sure almost the whole class gets it.

I had her for CHM 115 lab, and she is by far one of my favorite teachers! She was always very helpful and was very clear when explaining the labs.

She's a great teacher, all notes on BlackBoard and goes right along with the book. Lots of examples and tries to learn everyone's name with her note cards. lol Take her, she's great.

My first day of class, I couldn't understand why she got such good ratings, but after a week or two it occurred to me. She's smart, funny, easy going, and best of all, gives tons of extra credit. I'm by no means a science wiz (which my exam grades showed!) but with the extra credit I ended up with almost 100%! She's a sweet lady. Take 109 with her!

Very nice lady. Always willing to help. Pay attention in lecture (actually go!) and you'll do fine, if not, ask lots of questions. She's always willing to slow down. Lots of quizzies that are average hardness, just study and do well on those because there are so many the points add up.

Professor Stevens is a great teacher. She is really helpful, and knows what she is talking about. You always get your assignments back ASAP and she always keeps grades up to date on Blackboard.

Stevens is a great prof. She is so knowledgable about Chemistry...I think she invented it! She puts you in groups of 4, which I thought was awesome. My group was the only thing that kept me sane. Her class goes quickly, and her tests are EXTREMELY hard. All I can say is study, study, study.

Great Professor.She is easy to contact, and always there for help. She really trys to make lecture interesting but sometimes is boring. Exams are pretty hard but if you study and pay attention during lecture you'll be fine. For her groups, its great. You really get to bond with other students and help each other out. I loved working with mine.

Prof Stevens does an excellent job with this class. I am now in CHM 115 and definitely feel prepared. She made alot of mistakes when doing problems on the overhead, but you get the point. Lots of group work. Extra credit opportunities.

EXCELLENT Prof! She breaks things down so that you can understand material. She gives extra credit after every test and lets you redo the questions that you got wrong for extra points. She's a very nice lady. She does go through material somewhat quickly but in lecture she will take her time to explain something to you if you don't understand.

Make sure to ask her if you have questions, she is always willing to help. If you have taken high school chem, this class will be a breeze. I havn't studied 4 a quiz yet.

I believe she is pretty much the best teacher i have ever had. She learns your name like after the first week. Very personable. Lectures are not to bad. They go by fast. Structured outline on what your class will be like. Easy to go and talk to if you dont understand. Doesnt talk to you like your an idiot. Understands if your on sports.

She is a great teacher. Offers extra credit all the time! Very helpful and nice lady, but easy class. I don't recommend buying the book. All you need is your OWL card and Lab book. She gives you EVERYTHING you need. Take her if you can!

I had her for lab. She is very helpful and willing to explain and answer questions. She makes sure everybody understands the procedures and purposes of lab. Quizzes are easy if you have a basic understanding of the lab beforehand, and if you come to lab it's very difficult to do poorly in this class.

Great Professor. She sparked my interest in chemistry. Because of her I switched my minor to chemistry. Had a blast

AWESOME. I hated, Hated, HATED chemisty before I took this class, and now I'm a science major. She is so helpful, funny, and this class was great. I was never bored, and it's hard not to get an A in this class. She lets you re-do exams to get an extra 5% on you grade. HIGHLY recommend her, by far the best so far at GVSU.

Wow being a chemistry class and going four times a week, this was probably my favorite class! She really tries to learn every bodies names (class of over 100 students). She is an amazing professor and i would recommend her for anybody! I wish she taught a higher level chemistry like 115 or 116 because I would definitely take her again!

Prof. Stevens was a great professor. She was very helpful, and made Chemistry very very comprehendable and easy. She gives you a 2nd chance on your exams to earn 5 extra credit points, she only takes top 10 quizzes out of 12. I would highly reccomend her for anyone out there.

Stevens is a fantastic professor. She loves what she does and loves helping students to understand chemistry. I hated chemistry before this year and dreaded the first day, but she really almost makes it enjoyable. It has been my favorite class this semester.

If at all possible take this professor. She is a really great prof and helps you understand the material presented really well. I was in a class with 130 students and she knew everyone's name by the 3rd or 4th week of school. A really great prof and definitely take her if at all possible.

This professor truly cares about her students. She took the time to learn all of our names within 2-3 weeks. If you pay attention, you will get a good grade. There are lots of chances to earn points (group work, extra credit, etc.). Sometimes the way she explains things is kind of confusing, but she's always willing to help you understand.

I would recommend this professor. She's a really good teacher and will help you if you need it; she explains things pretty well. She has a ton of students, but still takes the time to get to know them all. Again, she's a great teacher and if you have an option to have her, take it!

I had Dr. Stevens for Chemistry lab, and she was an amazing lab professor. She knew everyone's name by the 2nd week, and walked around checking everyone's work and helping as necessary. Very very nice lady who sometimes helped me out more often than my lecture prof. Take her if possible!
