Took the 6-wk version of the course, fully expecting to do a lot of work. Had to fully read and transcribe all 23 chapters of the book, and take 3 pgs of notes each on 22 different videos. You take reading notes on every chapter, she doesnt give study guides or a review for any of the exams or the final. When you ask her what to study, "EVERYTHING" is always the answer. She constantly talks about herself, her speech at Oxford, $25000 cubicle vs $50000 cubicle, and my personal favorite "my students at UF would...". DO NOT TAKE HER.

Even if you get an answer correct, if it's not in your noted, you don't get credit. The class average on tests is a D, but with 40+ hours of book notes per week, you can get enough extra credit to boost your grade to a B. You will not learn anything except how to rewrite the textbook. Forget her as a professor if you are disabled. Really bad!!

if you want to actaully learn from someone this is your teacher. prof. Tyson taught everything about ENV to us and made sure we understood it. She makes the class super easy with a lot of bonus points, videos and is able to make up tests for full credit. She also understands that "Shift Happens". There' a lot of work and stuff to do but it' doable.

The valuable thing I learned is to not take her classes again, it isn't worth the money. She is also not good at answering emails and doesn't communicate well. She often changes what or how much is due. The amount of work she assigns to be done in a few days is ludicrous, and cannot be done unless rushed. Save yourself the time and stress.

Very good teacher, I did quite well in her class but she really made me work for it. the reading notes are long and quite tedious, so there will be late nights, but it's all worth it. She is a caring teacher who only wants the best out of the students, and as long as you are able to sacrifice some fun and put a little work in, this class is easy.

Will demean students if they present any sort of differing opinion. Says there is 5 hours of hw due the next class then decides to not grade it. loves to change test dates around. She is a stereotypical crazy cat lady. believes EVERYTHING out of TV is true and admits it. indoctrination class. textbook taught us chimp genitalia sizes & weird stuff.

Professor Tyson is a very genuinely interesting person and an excellent instructor. The class is very hard due to it being condensed to six weeks but it is doable if you study frequently and do all the reading from the textbook. Hard but fun and interesting class overall.

Do NOT take this class if you dont have the time for it, especially if you have a job. She makes you take an excessive amount of notes, which you dont even know for sure will be on the test, and always changes when stuff is due. Shes knowledgeable but at the price of the most stressful class Ive ever taken, passing is hard if you have a life.

I really enjoyed this professor as her lectures made sense and the work load was not too difficult. It is very manageable for a college course and she is very clear on the course load. All notes done in the textbook were extra credit on the exams, however besides notes this course is strictly exams and no outside assignments, overall great class!

Prof. Tyson is without a doubt a phenomenal teacher. I'm grateful I was able to learn from her. Not only did she inspire me to care more about the environment and making a difference, she made me want to reevaluate my goals and plans for the future. She is genuinely a caring person, and down to earth!

Everyone who is saying the work is durable has A LOT of time on their hands. She was not accessible, and the time she spent in class talking about NOTHING, was the time we should've been given to take notes instead of taking them for homework. I learned nothing in that class because I didn't have time to study it. This was the absolute worst.

Professor Tyson actually taught, and was a great teacher. There will be a good amount of notes and writing, and you will have to fully apply yourself, but, you will learn a great deal in the process. The most I've learned from a single class was with her, put full trust in her methods and give full effort and your grade will reflect it.

I'm usually good with trying new things but dropped after the first day. Won't use any technology for anything as she doesn't think useless for learning, she doesn't even want to see any technology out. First day she assigned multiple big assignments. Bringing the textbook counts as your attendance so if you don't have it with you, you're absent.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER! I love Professor Tyson! It is a hybrid class (6 weeks) so most work is done at home. Bring your textbook and reading notes to class EVERY DAY. Quizzes are on reading notes, there are 3 exams and a GELO for the final. No technology, all paper. Best stories, sang us "Colors of the Wind" from Pocahontas, funny, great style.

do not take this class. She is by far the worst teacher I have ever met. She does not respond to emails , doesn't answer questions in person either. U will get a 0 on all her notes/homework if it's not done exactly like she wants it done. She thinks she's funny but she's just self absorbed and only talks about her “stories” for half the class.

Professor Tyson is awesome! I took her six week class and it was a ton of reading and note taking, that take hours to do, so manage your time wisely. She has very specific ways of how she wants things done but it's NOT HARD and she gives a ton of extra credit. It was A LOT of work but I learned so much from her and I highly recommend!

Professor Tyson is a great and interesting professor. Even though the class was condensed into 6 weeks, I've learned more in her class than any other class I've taken so far. Expect to spend hours reading the textbook and taking notes, but its worth it due to the credit you'll get on the tests. I work and have a full load but still got an A!

Class schedule was spontaneous, due dates and etc. weren't very clear. LOTS OF HOMEWORK!! I was very, very stressed!!! But after the class, I'm grateful I stuck through with it.
