Great teacher, fun class, easy to grasp and understand. Some students in the class felt she was not very effective but to be honest, they were just too lazy to do any work. I really enjoyed this class and it isn't hard to get an A if you simply just remember key terms and important people.

She answers any question you may have (you just have to get off of your but to ask, instead of sitting and whining about the clarity of the question) she's quick to respond to email and I would highly recommend her to anyone! She also gives a study guide for each test. This teacher wants her class to pass!

Each week was a struggle not to pull my hair out! If you enjoy being treated as though you're in high school then this is your class. It wasn't too difficult since most of the topics covered are encountered to some degree in everyday life. However, her tests have questions not addressed in the text. The bright side she grades on the curve. Good luck

Nice woman, but avoid her as a teacher. Don't even bother going to class, read the book. For somebody teaching about social problems, she's very out of touch with the current state of society. She makes statements out of the book, and is uninformed about society. I learned nothing in this class, and I had really hoped to.

She isn't very helpful, or assertive. The class has various discussions all at once, but it does cover some very controversial topics. The teacher doesn't really jump in on discussion. She is very timid and I feel that when I speak she will break or something. Bring a book, all you'll mostly do is read from it, and then get tested on most of it.

Linda Whitman is a very nice woman, but is an overall marginal teacher. We had one person in our class that was a consistently disrupted a productive learning environment, and she did nil about the situation. Her lectures are weak, but her tests are good. She makes the student relate terms in the book on an everyday level, not just by definition.

Mrs Whitman is an amazing and caring teacher, she does not want anyone to fail her class. From the first day of class to the last it is very clear what you need to do to pass the class and she is very flexible if you have any issues come up. 4 tests, 1 paper and 1 extra credit. She appreciates participation and it helps your grade!!

Multiple choice and true/ false exams, one paper on domestic violence, extra credit was a song that related to the text. She gives you information via PP and terms are on quizlet. I wouldn't buy the textbook. Prof. Whitman is lovely and wants all her students to excel. Show up to class and engage and she will work with you. I would take her again!

I love Prof. Whitman, I was lucky enough to take one of her classes when they were still on campus. She is just so sweet. Now that things are online, she does a discussion and small activities each week that aren't very hard. The test are very straight forward. If you do your discussions, and do well on the tests it'll be an Easy A class for you.

Professor Whitman is fine just pretty hands off. The class was easy enough. 2 assignments a week, a discussion and a Canvas assignment, 1 paper that you have to attend a Zoom for, 4 exams and 1 extra credit assignment. Only need the textbook for the exams but the exams are pretty tricky and the book doesn't always help, just do your best.

She is very sweet and cares but I felt I learned more by reading the book than her lectures. She had a very hard time with the computer and I always left feeling I didn't learn anything after class. The only assignments for grade was a paper and then the tests. Her study guides did not help with the test at all.

This class online was a BREEZE. Super easy grader. There is 1 activity & 1 discussion every week, always on the same day makes it EZ for remembering due dates. All test answers including final are from Quizlet. 50 word requirements on discussions make them EZ. Had the book but didn't use it one time. You can choose to learn from this class or not.
