I like her, she is really nice and helpful and provides the class with good information to help them study.
She is awesome. Her tests can be difficult, but she explains things really well. She makes sure that the material is related to real-life concepts....like the ozone depletion. :o)
Extremely personable and approachable, her tests are difficult (the take-homes are especially time-consuming), but she doesn't grade harshly. The modules are a little vague/stressing, but sometimes very interesting (ex: the one on cars and gasoline).
Tough but Fair, lots of work but a lot fun too.

Zarzana is a great teacher! Class is broken down into meaningful modules that ties the lectures and labs together nicely. Her lectures encourage student interaction. If you work hard, you can get a B easily in her course, and its fun!
Teaches stuff not well related to general chemistry program
wastes the lecture time by teaching unrelated subjects like ozone hole! does not follow the textbook at all and just sticks to her own idiot modules, would NOT recommend her to anyone.
She definitely keeps you busy. She can be a bit disorganized, but if you approach her w/ anything, she'll be glad to help.

She is very unorgnized and you learn nothing from her class.
Warning! AVOID her , Never take her class.
Unorganized, wastes lec & lab time, doesn't teach all chem 401 concepts, not a very nice person at all. She has her faves, and blows off the other students. Refuses to answer your questions, even when you are desperate for an explanation (maybe it is because she doesn't know the answer).

Plays favorites. Tries to teach from her ridiculous modules instead of the book. If youre lost during a lab (which will happen) dont expect her to help you. Turned me off chemistry.
Makes a point out of refusing to answer questions and assigning too much homework. Lab work is frustrating. Keeps grades hidden most of the semester. Very nice and helpful with those she likes. Unbalanced personality, severe mood swings. Seriously lacks professionalism.
She is very unhelpful, you learn nothing in her class and she is very mean, her lecture are unrelated to topic, does not prepare you for the next class and very unfair and play favortism.
Warning: this teacher is quite grumpy, and can screw ur grade for no reason at all!!!
I cannot express how right-on the previous ratings are. Do not take her class! The alternative teachers are hard but at least you will LEARN in THEIR classes. I am finishing up her class and have learned nothing except how extremely biased a professor can be and still not get fired.
This teacher is hard but what teacher isn't! You have to work really hard for your grade. Stay on top of your work because you have to earn your grade in this class. I enjoy her lecture cause she keeps you wide awake. Get ready to kick azz in this class if not she will!!

I thought that Zarzana was an excellent teacher. Yes, the class is challenging but what do you expect from a college level Chemistry Course? The work can be a little overwhelming at times but I learned a lot. She is very enthusiastic about the subject and really knows her stuff. Highly recommended!
It's a very difficult class. She assigns a lot of work so be prepared to work hard. Tests are different from lecture. It is helpful if you can get a test from a previous semester(she changes them, but at least you know what kind of material to study). Miss one lecture and you could be lost.

She is very unhelpful, and tries to teach from her own "module".. which seemes completely off track from the material we were supposed to be learning. Its blatenly obvious she plays favorites, getting on her bad side will make your grade suffer, which resulted in many people dropping the class.
Great teacher that really knows the subject and loves it, Lots of hard work and the modules are different than a traditional class but you still learn the same material. Very helpful but you have to be willing to ask. Don't let the appearance of her office put you off.

Easy if you keep up with the work.
yes; Z obviously plays favorites, but don't let it get you down. if you choose to take this class, you better join a beacon group. it will benefit you. another word of caution: if she thinks that you are a good student she'll leave you alone. when you need help BUG her until she gives it to you.
This teacher is really cool!!!!!
The class is a test, indeed. However, we are college students and she is preparing us to actually think on our own. She expects only the best of her students and pushes them to do well. She makes you use your brain. If your brain doesn't hurt, you are not using your brain to its' full potential.
She's in my top three all time best teachers list. Her passion for the subject is tempered by her dislike of lazy students. If you ask stupid questions like "Is this going to be on the test", don't take her class. Aced the inorg. chem part of the MCAT because of her class.
She is so helpful when you are not her student. And don't make her annoyed, or you'll regret it. Class is all over the place, and there is lots of busy work...so prepare.
cool teacher, very nice and helpful. Highly recommended.
Z is tough, but it works out. It is a class where you get little guidance so that you MUST learn the material. The tests will reward you if you do. NOT A BREEZE COURSE, but well worth the time. She does play a little favorites as to how much she helps people, even within a group, but prove to her you are trying and she'll soften up to help you.
If she's really a great teacher, then you wouldn't have to suggest to people that they not annoy her... Good teachers are fair to all of their students.
Z Rocks! She is not even tough. She just expects you to be responsible adults. She always answered my questions and was there for me. Just pay attention and participate.
One of my hardest and most enjoyable classes ever. She helps teach you how to think as well as chemistry. Suggestion: don't worry about annoying her, get into study groups and beacon tutoring, try to make your class the most fun(and focused) class EVER. discuss questions thoroughly w/ group, then as her your questions if possible w/ group member(s)
The class was pathetic, and the labs were twice as long as other chem 401 labs were...some of the lectures never covered enough information that would be given on the test...never found during office hour, she always has her favorites in class. It's a chem class not an English writing class. Cancelled many lectures & labs during the semester!
GREAT teacher! One of the best professors I've ever had - it is a tough class (its Chem 5 units) but it you also learn a lot. Just stay on top of everything and go to her with your questions. You have to take the initiative and go to her and make an effort if you don't then obviously you won't get help. I highly recommend her..
Shes a great teacher. But her organization sucks. We never were returned any of our homework or labs or our last two midterms. It's kinda hard to know how you are doing in a class if you dont get your work back. She gives lots of busy work too and then forgets to collect some of it. Its frustrating but I learned my chemistry.
I really think she is a good teacher, but you have to take a lot of the effort to learn whats on the tests. She doesnt give you excatly what you need to know, so it makes it a little tough. I got an A, but didnt have any idea if i was even passing the class until the final grades came in..ha
This class was easy. Her tests are somewhat similar to homework and previous test. Never annoy her, and be sincere towards ur work in order to pass the class in an A.
good teacher. not difficult class if do hw and pay attention to lecture. UNDERSTAND lecture material. they might show up on test. hw almost every class period. it pretty much helps for the test. i found that doing the study objectives and going through recommended hw problems for the first test helped a whole bunch. take her, not roy. nuff said.
Very concerned and dedicated to student's success. Likes to do one on one sessions which is a very good idea especially if there is no time during lecture.
I hated her class. She is the most unorganized teacher ever. I didn't know what I had in the class until final grades came out and he screwed me. She told me I was doing fine when I asked her, then stuck me with a D. Don't take her.
Z is an awesome chemistry teacher she incorporated the world around us to learn and understand everything. She cares a lot about her students and helps in every way she can. There is hw almost everyday but it helps study for exams. Exams are stright forward. She is highly recommended!!
the course work is hard but zarzana trys to break it down so its easy. think of the liberalist theory of education, and that is her teaching style.
What can you say about Mrs. Zarzana. This class was everywhere. We spent three weeks on one subject and 1 week on the next two subjects. She will get the information to you, but the rest is up to you. If you don't put the extra work in to understand 100%, the tests are a head trip. Although, she is still one of my favorite teachers, ever!
Taking a class with Mrs. Zarzana is like training with Mike Tyson. She with show you what you need to know. But then will bite off a piece of your ear with the take home exam and knock you out with the in-class. Make sure you understand completely or you may suffer! Other than that it was a fun class, always keeps you on your toes.
Hard and unclear. Never grades homeworks or labs. You turn in a lot of papers and she never even read them. Her room is so messy.
she is good on what she teaches but you have t o make sure you understand her lecture, if not , then drop as soon as possible. she is cool teacher
She is so unorganized. Be prepared to not know your grade untill the final grades come out on eservices. I emailed and asked her in class numerous times about my grade but she just brushed me off, and I ended up with a D. And dont expect to learn from your mistakes because you wont get your work back till the last day of class if your lucky.
I don't recommend her! Went into the final completely in the dark about my standing in the class cuz she rarely hands things back! She's scattered, only organized sometimes, and her tests (which we never got back) are illogical. She is a really intelligent neat lady, but her teaching style is confusing and not consistent whatsoever.
She's a great teacher. Yeah she is a little unorganized, but it's your responsiblty as a student to be organized. He lectures can be confusing if your not paying attention, the book is more confusing, he lecture really is helpful, and if you don't underatand don't be afraid to ask, she will love to help you, she' awesome, stop being babies.
It is true that she's goofy and scattered. She doesn't get tests back because she wants to make sure you're really learning, and avoids scantrons for that purpose. She has the absolute kindest heart and wants nothing but the best for her students. I highly recommend taking her.
She is a awesome teacher, and will prepare you for the future. I found the class very tough but well worth it. I feel like I can tackle my masters degree after taking her class! She is very helpful and willing to teach people who are willing to learn. All and all one of the best teachers at ARC.
Z is an interesting teacher. She is a great person and a good teacher who would be great if she were just a little more organized. You will rarely get assignments back and to know your grade you have to badger her all the time to get her to get things done. Outside of that she tries to keep the class from being stale and does succeed.
absolutely wonderful professor! I HIGHLY recommend her. Especially over Meador. She always willing to explain things multiple times, very comprehendable, homework is a great aid to studying the tests. very very similar material. you can defintely talk to her about problems on a topic and she is more than willing to help anyone.
great teacher!! makes sure every student understands. always willing to help and answer questions. VERY clear on instructions, Never tries to trick you on tests like some teachers do. is very straight forward. and makes chemistry super easy!!
The class was fairly difficult, but Zarzana made it fun. She is very easy to talk to and extremely helpful. If you make the effort to talk to her she will make sure you understand the material. Recommended.
Zarzana is the most amazing chemistry professor you will ever have! She has a fantastic teaching style that involves a lot of questioning and involving students in active learning. She's both a great mentor and friend who cares about her students and WILL be more than happy to help you until you understand the material. TAKE ZARZANA!
Absolutely wonderful teacher. She teaches everything she wants you to know! You don't have to go read and read and study for endless hours. She will give you everything, plenty of examples, and useful info to use. makes the tests exactly similar to the examples and material she has explained. Completely straight forward/ simple. Recommend her 100%
Love love love this professor! Great sense of teaching style, completely understandable. Ive been going to school many years and this is the best teacher Ive ever had. She makes you understand hard concepts in an easy way. Very devoted to her students like no other. Will take time out to help you, and responds to emails extremely quick.
GREAT teacher! Best chemistry prof. out there. She does a wonderful job at teaching the students a concept in a way where they will understand exactly whats happening and why. And gives you strategies to remember things and make them stick.Very enthusiastic, totally encourages student participation, gives Extra credit, which is rare in science class
Professor Z is a wonderful teacher, and you should do everything in your power to take her class. Very clear, very helpful, very nice. Only downside to her class is that she takes a VERY long time to get your tests back and rarely tells you your overall grade. Other than that, I'd highly recommend her!
amazing professor. however, she grades really slow and she doesn't really tell us our grade until the end of the semester.
Z is awesome. It's true she does take her time grading, but it's ok. Very clear on what she wants you to know. Questions on tests are basically questions she has explained never anything new. That is not to say her tests are super easy, but if you study well, and turn everything in you will do well. Extracredit on online quizs is really motivating
who says she is nice? She does not teach you what she expects in online quizzes and the exams. she expects you to know everything and for office hours! awful! she asks why? how come? why? OK! we go to office hours to be answered not be questioned. And she favors some students and misbehave with the rest.
She is awful. Nice with some and for the rest, she does not care. She asks the questions from MCAT in her exams and expect you to know when she does not teach them in the class. Not everybody wants to take MCAT!!! It lowers your grade but she does not care. Never take her again
She takes some time to grade, but keep in mind most other profs have graders, and she is responsible for grading everything herself. Her tests are really not that tough if you study for them. I got 100% on a few of them. Her quizzes often have new material on them, which is fine since she usually offers extra credit on those quizzes to make it up
Don't take her. Sac City is better.
I felt she was not a great prof. Lectures were more like the students trying to figure out her unanswered questions directed at us. You will not know your grade, and she will not tell you. The only way I learned was watching youtube videos. If I had to do it again, I would have gone to another school. Not helpful, or patient.
It is true that she is nice to some and not to others. She is not very welcoming in her office hours.During the lectures, she has us play games, number games. The students felt lost, and she would expect us to know everything, and when we didn't know something she would get upset if we didn't understand a question.Do yourself a favor, take someone else
At first, I was extremely intimidated by her teaching style; Ithought I'd hate the class. Now, I am more than happy I took the class with her. Yeah, she can be all over the place and kind of confusing but at the end of the subject, you realize you understand everything she was teaching. Be prepared to learn every single class. Totally recommend her
she will teach anything. you have to learn by yourseft. hate it. came to class with some fun number game. group work everyday lab 'n' lecture. quizz online,in class, pre lab. super hw, so you have to know how to solve it by reading a book and tutor help. came for 2 days and did not get anything. exception by studyng by yourseft
Probably one of the best science teachers I have ever had. If you are a natural science major of any kind (chem/bio/etc), I definitely recommend her.. she relates the material to real life stuff. However, it is chemistry after all so you will have to work hard and keep up. Attend all lectures and study old homeworks!
Gen chem is gen chem, just do it and get it over with.
Great teacher, not much more that I can say. Her teaching format is one where hard work will directly correlate with good grades. That is why I put a "3" for easiness, because your success really depends YOUR effort. She is also one of the most helpful instructors I have ever met. Loved her class, learned a lot. I would definitely recommend her
Beyond irritated with this class. Never got my grades posted on time, or at all. Her syllabus is a joke that she doesn't even follow. Mandatory study groups. I followed her guidelines, read the book, studied and still barely made it. I do not recommend her. You can never get one on one time with her, if you do need help she'll send you to Beacon.
She is a very nice, down to earth professor. Highly recommend using her office hours! Once she knows your name and face she tends to be a little easier on you. Always willing to help students out. Likes students to listen well and pay attention when she's giving out instructions. Loves to use study groups and group learning styles.
She's all over the place. No PowerPoint slides, just her talking and constantly changing the topic. Daily quizzes, daily homework assignments, hard exams. She requires you to fix the exam questions you got wrong. Mandatory science skills center or study group sessions. She would cancel class and not send an e-mail so we'd all show up for no reason.
This was the best science class i ever took. There were times when i was confused but in the end everything made sense. It never seemed like i was cramming anything - always understanding. If you like chemistry, take her ! :)
Things you really need to know before taking her class: 1) she requires beacon, group study or science skills class 2) her exams are moderately hard 3) she takes long time to grade & doesnt update often 4) unorganized lecture. I regret taking her class.
Disorganized in class and when grading. There were so many times that I had to have points changed. Never got anything back on time. I think I'm still missing half of my assignments. Mandatory study groups, worth a lot of points and useless. Leaves a lot of important information out of lecture. If you need more chem do NOT take her.
To be honest, she's a down to earth professor. However, she isn't really helpful in class/lab or office hour. She refers students to other students for help. Her tests are not extremely hard. Read the book and finish beacon packets for extra studying. Still don't know what my grade is in the class.
The thing is Z is great if you are one of her favorites, but if you're not one of her favorites your grade will suffer. This is the reason she never posts grades, because grading is subjective to her. A students final grade reflects her personal opinion of them and not there actual class performance
She just wants you to think. daily homework that prepares you for tests and easy labs that focus less on proper note taking and more on thinking conceptually about what is happening. Ask her questions, but don't expect her to just hand you the answers. Life is about problem solving. This class just lets you get some practice doing that.
She expects excellence in the lab. She will make you do experiments over and over until you get them "right" even though you technically made no errors. She's a nice lady but kind of irritating in that respect.
Zarzana is a brilliant and creative instructor. Her teaching style is very unique, and makes a difficult class feel "pHun." Take this class with a friend or two, or prepare to make some friends, most lectures involve group work. She can you teach you how to learn more effectively, extremely valuable. Embrace the quirks and you will have "pHun."
Zarzana expects you to understand the concepts rather than give you rules to memorize and regurgitate--which I admire and appreciate. Homework everyday, worth a ton of points. Save your time and Google online quizzes, you learn more on the worksheets. Tests follow HW questions and practice tests--study these and understand everything for an A.
I wish she would actually teach something.
Zarzana does not teach, cancels a lot of lectures/labs, gives assignments that are never finished, 3/4 into the semester and no one knows their grade, we don't even know what we got on our 1st exam. Taking her class feels like Russian roulette, some of us work really really hard but have NO clue what our grade will be... and neither does she.
She gave up on our class after Spring Break. Things became so unorganized. No graded homework or labs. No one knows their grade and it is a week from the final. Just a big mess. The exams are odd, material we never went over. Better hope she likes you for a good grade. EVERYTHING IS SUBJECTIVE. Clearly dislikes some students and loves others. Bad.
Sooo, my final is coming up in 2 days and I have NO CLUE what my overall grade is. If you're the type of student who likes to get their graded work back on time then DO NOT take her. She takes months to grade exams as well. The material covered in lecture doesn't help with her online quizzes or her exams. Her grading is subjective as well.
Zarzana has a lot of homework, usually one paper and one online quiz homework per class session. Exams are entirely curveballs, but it's applying what you've learned in class. Know the concepts (very well) and calculations, and you should be fine. She cares about your well being, but you come out of the class feeling like you learned nothing.
Final grades were due three days ago, and I have all my other grades, except hers. Zarzana cannot grade in a timely manner to save her life. That being said, complete the entire beacon packet she hands out and study it for the exams and you will be fine. Go to her office hours and discuss the answers, as you think it's right but it won't be.
She might seem hard in the beginning but trust me once you get to know the way she teaches the class gets easy ! in the beginning i was quite nervous about the class but trust me her class made me love chemistry her lectures are quite fun since it involves group work and participation. Do the old exams and practice test they help a lot.
This is zarzana's class... I worked my butt off for every HW assignment, did every extra credit, got between 80-100 on every biweekly quiz, and got B's and an A on the exams- I ended with a B in her class... (No grades were every posted). But my friend did not do half the HW or quizzes, no extra credit, and got an A... You do the math...
Zarzana is a great professor, but she doesn't grade anything on time. It may seem like there's a lot of homework to do, but it becomes routine so you get used to it quickly. Labs are easy and fun at times. You won't understand anything in lecture but if you ask her individually she will go to the ends of earth to make you understand. Amazing lady.
Zarzana is one of the best profs I have ever had and I encourage people to take her class if they have to take chemistry. Chemistry is not an easy subject but if you go to her office hours and ask her questions she will love you and do her best to help you out! She has also brought us cookies twice this semester :)
Z is one of the best professors I've ever taken. Her teaching style is extremely different from the traditional power point style, which took some getting used to. She has you do a lot of partner work in class and forces you to think for yourself. Don't bother buying the textbook, because she prints it out and hands them out during class.
I don't understand the bad reviews, she baked cookies on the first day! She's kind, knowledgeable, makes you really think & LEARN chemistry. I improved my grade in her class because of her hands on lecturing style. Office hours and beacon packets are there, exams are straightforward, there's no excuse to do not do your part and achieve an A!
This class was a breath of fresh air after Chem 400, there is a lot less material that you cover in 401, its just in greater depth. Zarzanas teaching style may seem strange at first, but you get used to it after a few weeks. Tests are super easy as long as you go over the beacon packets. Only downside to this class is she doesnt grade quickly.
everything in her class was alright except she takes forever to grade things, as all my exams were a B plus and 1 A and did all the homework and almost got full credit on the quizzes still ended with a B in her class and without posting any grades on canvas at all, she didn't show up in the final exam and no one know what they got in their finals.
She is energetic &makes her class atmosphere light. Tests are from the study packets &are really easy. Shes a good teacher &is helpful during office hours. Looking at the notes &exams of other 401 professors in the district, I can say that shes the easiest. The downside is she wont grade lotta stuff, so final grade would come out as a surprise.
the best professor of chemistry. she actually makes you fall in love with chemistry. work hard and you will get an A. Her teaching style is the best. she wants everyone to understand and not just read the book. 100% recommended.
My favorite chemistry professor because she's so energetic and quirky and loves what she teaches. She has a few online quizzes throughout the week and a take home portion of the test (the take home is much harder than the in class part). The topics are kind of conceptually based, but with a little effort and A in this class isn't unreachable.
grade was never posted untill the end of semester
No one in the class knows their exam 4 and final exam grade. Some of the students who were expecting a B ended up getting C's and a few who didn't even think they would pass got A's or B's. Although she is sweet she should have posted grades students think that she gave final grade randomly without grading out final which was so annoying for every1
Ended the class with a C and I'm still not sure how, I did all homework with good grades, averaged a low B on Exams, and got 98% on one exam. No one ever found out their exam 4 or final exam grade. The only thing that is on canvas is the online homework which automatically fills in. Although she is very caring and prepares you for O-Chem well.
we received exam 1 and 2. didn't receive homework for exam 2. She teaches qualitatively and interactively. She give study ungraded packet highly recommending to finish that before exam. She give homework and quiz after every class meeting and Fridays. She is lenient and lab is easy. But here grading criteria is unclear. I don't like her attitude.
Prof. Zarzana was one of my best chem profs at arc. She will teach you with her own unique method which will make you love chemistry. Take those study pockets and practice tests serious because they're your key to earn an A in this class. I highly recommend taking her, because you'll have an enjoyable & fun class that you'll never regret.
Prof Z is one of the sweetest chem professor I have ever had. She made online class during the pandemic very easy and accessible. I love her online class more than face to face lecture. She's so chill, and funny. Her exams are hard but she gave multiple practice exams and quizzes that will be similar to the exam. I recommend taking her.
She's a very sweet, kooky professor, but I did not care for her teaching style. She never responds to any emails, and she's a very slow grader. I feel the majority of our class were struggling to understand the material. She was well aware and just had a "so be it" attitude about it. I revieved an A, but it came with great work. Not an easy course.
From reading all the reviews on here I was scared to take her. After taking Professor Z's class it was not scary at all, but she is very slow on grading. She does have a different way of teaching style, but it will make you learn. She cares about her students. Her exams are not bad, but the questions could be confusing. She is lenient on grading.
The large majority of people leaving bad reviews, I am certain are the ones that did not pay FULLY attention during lectures. Chem401 is not a difficult class. It is a watered down version of Chem400. She is pretty generous on tests, as long as you are articulate about your explanations. Def. read txtbook early, but later you won't need it.
PROS: Prof. Zarzana has a fun personality, loves making connections with students, and cares about students who care CONS: She can be a bit disorganized, but this arguably makes you study outside of class and ask clarifying questions. The main con is that she is a slow grader, especially when it gets to the end of the semester.
She is really sweet. Tests are straight to the point( Multiple choice). Very laid back, labs are easy A's. However, take your notes, take them!! And go to tutoring once a week. I took Chemistry and it was taught. She made it easier. However, takes a long to grade. Test and quizzes are graded on the spot. Take her!
If you have another option do not take her. She does not respond to her emails during the pandemic, unorganized and confused most of the time. Very very slow on grading, does most of her grading after the final exam and by then you cannot reach her if you find out that some of your assignment is missing
If you have another option do not take her. She does not respond to her emails during the pandemic, very very slow on grading, unorganized and confused most of the time. She does most of her grading after the final exam and if you find out that your assignment is missing, you may not be able to reach her
Hardest Professor I have ever had. During a pandemic you would think the professors could be a bit more caring about what their students have to say. No response to any emails unless you send 10 back to back. Lectures were super long and our questions were never answered if we needed help. It started off great and ended up with an F.
She not bad at teaching, but she took forever to put in grades. they're were so many assignments and tests but none of then counted towards the final grade she had small quizzes with 15-20 questions that were only worth 3 points. its the next semester and I can still see assignments ungraded.
Professor Zarzana was an easier professor than I thought. 5 exams, multiple choice and some written (very easy). Lots of quizzes but were very easy and were similar to exams. Lots of Homework that was helpful and easy. Labs were easy. If you do the work on time and try your best with it, you will have a good grade in the class.
The worst part about this class is her grading. She takes forever to grade your work and it's hard to know where you stand on your grade. Other then that she does teach great and breaks things down so you understand. She does take forever to respond to emails. weeklyDUE: hw, quizzes, labs and study sessions. helps you stay on track on studying.
She was a very sweet lady, but overtime you realize her lecturing is extremely long and boring. I can't recall a single thing that I learned from her course. It was mostly self-taught than from her teaching. A lot of group in-class work. VERY unorganized! Does not keep grades up to date.
She is nice and will do activities to make sure you understand the material. You just have to do the work and pay attention in class. She will talk about her dead cats.
I loved Zarzana. Her way of teaching is very easy to understand and has almost no reading. She walks around the room to make sure everyone understands and would explain it further if needed. Labs had very detailed instructions, she would do the experiment in front of you before you try it. I highly recommend her I wish she taught CHEM 400
Linda Zarzana is a wonderful Professor. She is caring. She can be strict at grading but otherwise she is okay
Had a really tough time during the semester, it was not worth the stress. She is very strict and by the book. Most of the time you will not get 1:1 help. Sometimes kind and talkative.
Enjoyed this class! Zarzana has a structure that is easy to follow. Textbook based but she will print out the textbook material for you, no need to buy anything. Study guides are pretty much the exams, point for point. Sadly there is just a lot of hw. Don't take if you rather not do hw. She's quirky at times but genuinely cares about her kids.
Outlines what is on exams very well. Uses textbook but prints out the chapters for you! A lot of HW, but comes in handy for understanding material. Study guides are basically the exams. Overall, super caring and awesome professor. Attending lecture and lab regularly necessary to pass. Avoid if having a lot of HW is not for you.
Zarzana has a structured teaching style, though she can be strict. The class requires consistent work - homework, quizzes, labs, and study sessions. Using resources like Unstuck ai alongside the textbook material she provides can really help with understanding the content.
