Took her for my first semester. She would grade our papers a little harshly and would cut points for minor grammar mistakes. She also likes people who participate and count as 15% of the grade.

PARTICIPATION IS EVERYTHING. You have to talk a LOT to get an A. Had a B+ 1st quarter despite having all As in written work. She said I needed to talk more still - I did and got an A in the end. Great lectures. Easy essay assignments that she gave great feedback on. She can be quite blunt.

Lectures are very organized and inspiring. Professor Davies really wants students to speak up in class, so participation is an essential part of grading. (Got an A- in midterm though all my written work is A) Very nice when you reach out for help. Gives great feedback on assignments.

Loved her! her lectures helped me understand the reading on a broader scale. Her attention to detail and her background knowledge of the context of each written work makes you appreciate the novel on another level. wish I could take her again

Professor Davies is warm and kind. Her feedback on papers almost shocked me from how harsh she was. She is understanding and loves participation. Group project at the end of the semester is pretty easy. The readings are sometimes boring but she makes it interesting.

She is very nice but her grading can be tough sometimes. You just have to figure out what she likes to read about.

She is an amazing teacher who is super passionate about what she does, which is revealed through her knowledge of the subject. You'll do well if you engage in the conversation and follow her instructions on the assignments. Make sure you commit to assignments and don't do it at the last minute, and you'll easily pass. Overall would recommend!

Davies is a really nice lady. as long as you participate during class and read the books (so you can actively participate without sounding like you read off chatgpt), you'll be fine. she can be blunt if she cannot follow your thoughts (in class and on your papers), so have tough skin

Overall, she gave me high grades. I'm really happy about that. However, she is definitely tough one. Participation MATTERS A LOT. IF YOU DON'T TALK, I'M SURE YOU WON'T GET HIGH GRADES. She is not easy.
