Great teacher! Fun to interact with. Kept class interesting. Super funny. You don't really have to go to the lecture if you have common sense, but they are fun anyway. By far my favorite teacher this first semester. She's really a wonderful person. She comes to class with a high spirit and will turn your day around. Learned a great bit and enjoyed learning. She's not too hard, but when it comes down to business... she like it handled. Class isn't particularly mandatory, but you wouldn't want to miss it.

Ms. Hobbs is awesome. I tell her good morning every time we have an auditorium class! Quizzes about every Friday and 2 impromptu speeches. The final speech is the biggest nerve wrecking thing you can do but she gives pointers on what to do and what not to do. The class overall depends on the lab instructor you get!

Everybody says she is the best teacher, and out of all the public speaking classes she is, but honestly i didn't learn anything in this class. If you are comfortable with speaking in front of people you will get an A, but if you aren't, most likely this class isn't going to help you out much, it's just something you have to get used to on your own.

Hobbs is a great teacher, orator, and person in general. She is absolutely hilarious. The lectures can be pretty long, but she tries to keep it as short and interesting as possible. She throws in jokes throughout the lectures, so it's impossible to fall asleep. She wrote the textbook that we use in class, so of course she knows the information.

This class is an easy A. You cannot fail this class. Just do your work & you should be fine. Don't skip your lab class to much, they give participation points. If your afraid to speak in front of the class you should start practicing now bc you WILL have to speak.

This course is so interesting, if you've taken Hobbs before you know she's different. To really learn something from this course you have to understand the reason behind what she does. You might get frustrated early in the semester, but at the end you'll understand the most important aspects of leadership.

She makes this class funny. She is hilarious. Mostly small quizzes about the lecture like 3 or 4 questions not hard, 1 test and a final. Only had homework twice, will have to give a speech but it was very simple and you choose the topic. Relaxed and fun. Take her. I don't see why anyone would take anyone else.

CMNC 203 is just the honors version of 100, but there's nothing difficult about it. I'd show up to class and she'd just share stories and how it relates to communication. Really laid back. Few easy quizzes here and there, but nothing to stress about. She's aware that there are other difficult courses we have to focus on, so this is low priority.

I dreaded this class!! I have real bad anxiety, but she made the class very fun. I was uncomfortable going into the activities, but found them very enjoyable once we started each one. She's very funny, very friendly, very approachable, and very informative. I still felt incapable of giving my speeches, but she encouraged me every step of the way.

It was my first communications class and I fell in love! Lindsay Hobbs is hilarious and more than willing to help any student in any way she possibly can. Because of her, I'm pursuing a minor in communication. This was an honors section of fundamentals of communication and she was very straightforward and informative.

Very engaging during her lectures. She has this way of making the entire lecture hall of 250 people laugh. It's a very enjoyable class. The tests are straight from her lectures. The speech is given in front of your lab class, and it's made to be as easy on you as possible. Make an outline, get comfortable with your peers, you'll do fine. Take her!

Professor Hobbs is down to earth and engaging. She loves to make jokes during lecture, but their not corny jokes at all. Great lectures! She's really funny and makes her class relatable! Although she doesn't grade your papers or speechs, she has teacher assistants so you would have to go to one of their office hours to find about your grade. Extra credit is easy you can just take a survey she sends you.

She is such a funny person that you want to go to lecture! The only assignments are 3/4 small speeches, one big speech, one homework assignment, and 3 super easy tests. Literally just show up to lecture and listen and you'll get a B on each.

Mass lecture is not usually mandatory, but this is where all test material is given. Lab class attendance is mandatory or you lose participation points. I thought I would hate this class, but it ended up being my favorite class. Lindsay is hilarious &amp; the lab class exercises helped make all of us not nervous about giving our speeches.

Definitely an easy A course. This professor is funny and gives no big tests except the final at the end. She does assign quizzes about every week but they are short and sweet. Also, no class on Friday!

If you have a problem with public speaking, every teacher is gonna be hard, but Hobbs is an absolute hoss and can make you come out of your shell. I had her for fall semester. She is the best professor I ever had. She is very caring and is respectful towards everyone. She does tophat assignments and the homework is on there. If you do the work you should be doing, then you will pass like I did. Her notes are exactly the exams. There are lab classes, so be prepared to give out speeches.

I actually loved this class, which is strange because I dont usually like online classes. Her class is well-organized and interesting. I lucked out because I hate public speaking, but I took this class when it was online only, so I only had to speak in front of my camera, which wasnt so bad. Id definitely take a class with her again!

Absolutely loved taking her online, due to covid-19. Super organized, straight forward, easy to understand, and simple assignments and homework. She communicated with us extremely well and addressed any problems we had. I definitely extremely 100% recommend taking her class, it was such a smooth ride and very interesting.

Genuinely had me interested 99% of the time in her class when she would give lectures. Did an outstanding job of integrating her book lessons into her lectures while maintaining my level of interest. Requires that you learn to communicate more efficiently through many exercises in our lab classes. An outstanding teacher overall.

Despite teaching a million sections, she manages to keep her Moodle organized and student-friendly and her lectures super hilarious and engaging. No doubt, you will LOVE her!

i cannot stress this enough, take this course online. it will be the easiest course u will ever take. theres like 4 exams total and plenty of homework assignments. you have to submit a video of you reading off a paper at the end of the semester. super easy

Super easy class with lots of grade opportunities! Weekly homework out the book and occasionally adds in small papers (300 words)! Three exams for the year and super easy to pass if you study the notes from the book! Theres one speech you do but its not bad! 10/10 recommend this class!

Took CMCN online with Professor Hobbs and it was super easy. Online assignments are due every Sunday, but they're really easy to do. One written assignment each week but they're opinion-based and only 300 words. 3 exams and only 25 questions each and are really easy.

Very easy class if you are looking for an online elective. Class consist of quizzes and discussion forums. the quizzes can be found on quizlet for the most part.

took her human communication class and absolutely loved it. there was never any confusion when it came to the course work, all homework that she assigned related exactly to what the assigned reading was, and she gave opportunities for bonus points.

The entire course was open, and everything was due at the same time before the term ended. It was all very easy and pretty interesting. It was a relief to not worry about due dates for at least one of my classes, and I was able to breeze through multiple chapters in one sitting when I did do this coursework.

I've never met this professor, but her class is super easy. Just do the Top Hat assignments, submit the easy papers, and your exams are super easy.

This was an online course. It's an easy class to get an A in. I got a B because I fell a little behind in my other classes I pushed this course to the side lol. Take Lindsay, she's great!

It is kind of hard to say if she is a good teacher or not because she did not actually teach anything. It was completely online so you you just to read mostly. She did give many chances for getting bonus points and it is super easy to past the test if you actually read the textbook.

They are not only very informative but if you pay attention they can be more of a large group conversation, as she encourages feedback from the group! To get the most out of the class BE INVOLVED! Also I dont understand how some can get an incomplete and say the class is easy?

She's a great teacher, I find her lecture's easy to listen to and follow along. She is very funny and her test are fairly simply, if you pay attention in class you should have no hard time passing. There is plenty of extra credit opportunities, be ready to give speeches though.

I LOVED Mrs. Hobbs. I would take her class again just for her. Her tests are not very hard and we only had 3 exams. But, she did have a lot more homework on Top Hat. But she also offered so much extra credit. We only had 3 speeches (2- one minute speeches and 1- four minute) and the TA in charge of lab class was nice and graded us fairly easy.

Her lecture class does NOT require attendance, but the lab class does. There is a decent amount of homework, but most of it can be found on quizlets if you're feeling lazy. You'll get the most out of this class if you pay attention to the lectures and put effort into your speeches for lab class. You won't fail. She's also very, very funny.

lindsay hobbs was one of my favorite professors! she was extremely communicative with her students, and the atmosphere was very welcoming and lighthearted. just keep up with your homework, put in effort, and youll be fine! i looked forward to all lectures! my TA, julianne michael was excellent was well. very sweet and helpful.

Ms. Hobbes was a good teacher with clear guidelines for the course. We had weekly discussion boards with quizzes based on the chapter of the week. Three tests throughout the course based on the previous material. Easy enough, as long as you complete all the work you will pass with an A

very good and interesting lectures, and easy quizzes and everything else. wants you to do good. only complaint I have is I missed my "final" quiz for her because i got the dates wrong, she wouldn't let me take it or do makeup work to replace the lost points, i ended up with a B, but the communication with her in that time lacked.

this is a super easy and fun class the only and only thing is she does NOT answer emails and is never in her office, she is impossible to get ahold of whenever you need something, but other than that the class is not hard at all

I love Mrs. Hobbs. She made her lectures fun and entertain while still making us retain the information. Your lecture will be split into lab groups and attendance is taken every day in labs so beware. Overall a great class and a great professor

Her lectures were so funny and enjoyable. We had lab sections and the assignments were always easy. She used Top Hat for assignments and they were always graded easily. Attendance is mandatory but isn't at the same time. You can miss mass lecture but there is random attendance checks. If you're scared of public speaking, she makes it bearable.

Hobbs is easily one of the best professors I've had at UL. Although she did not have a lot of classes, she communicated well that she had a lot going on personally--and was still accessible. She is hilarious and is so understanding. Even if you don't need this class, TAKE IT!! Hobbs is a peach and was seriously the highlight of my semester.

took her hybrid course, she was fun, was a chill class. Easy assignments, so if you failed you most likely didn't do the assignments. Though the speeches we have to do is what stopped me from getting a A, being that I just don't like public speaking but I still improved throughout the semester and finished the class with a high B.

The class was spelled out, took it in the summer intersession. No problem at all.

Professor Hobbs makes her lectures entertaining while keeping the content engaging. Attendance is mandatory for labs, but the course overall is pretty straightforward. Unstuck ai proved helpful for class prep.

Super funny and nice! Just please... SHOW UP TO CLASS. You only get 3 unexcused absences, period. Besides that, she offers a bunch of bonus points and all you need to do is stay on top of the busywork. It's easy.

Ms.Hobbs was great! Vey clear communication, and a very good sense of humor. Hobbs does remind you about any important and upcoming assignments or things on campus in general. All you have to do is complete homework and show up to class and you will be great. &#128522;

Class consisted of Lecture on Monday and Labs on Wednesday and Friday. You will have to give some impromptu speeches but they were not bad.

Mrs. Hobbs was an amazing teacher. Her lectures were always funny and makes you want to learn. Her tests were so easy. The homework is easy and don't require much work. Only a few speeches that you have to give and even if you do bad on a speech, she gives so many bonus point opportunities that there is no way you can't receive a passing grade.

I like this class. It will help you learn lots about communication and how to operate societies in groups.

I found her class very enjoyable when you sit in front of the class, and she makes her lectures interesting. You will be assigned a TA for the lab class which means that it might be in a different classroom than the lecture hall. You are given 24 hours to take the test online; there were only 3 tests.

Funny professor with very slow-paced curriculum. Not heavy in major public speaking, the most we ever did was impromptu speeches in front of at most 30 people. Online exams as well.

So funny and gives out SOOOOO much binus points. Such an easy A if you just go to class

Her homework is so easy and can be done in less than 20 minutes. Attendance is mandatory, but her lectures are literally amazing! She could be a comedian; she's so funny! 100% % Take her class!!

GO. TO. CLASS. especially the lab classes. if you do, you will be fine. i did not, so that's on me. incredible teacher though.

This is one of the professors who will brighten your day just from her welcoming smile. She is always cheerful. Not to mention, she's curved/gave so much extra credit just because she can(her words). She's an absolute sweetheart who I would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat. If you need help with speaking publicly, or in general- She's your girl!

She is so funny. I am not a morning person, but she made having a 9 am class so worth it. Also- GO. TO. CLASS.

She literally talks and jokes the whole 50 min. Her TA's take attendance everyday. She gives out bonus points ALOT and she is so understanding. Her room was always cold only downside. Her exams and homework are 100% online! On exam days, there is no class. There were only 2 speeches too. Take her!

You will make an A if you attend class and turn in your assignments on time. Exams are all online and open book. Only problem with this course was some of the TA's not doing their job.
