Professor Davis really enjoys what she does for a living and likes to crack jokes which makes it fun in class most of the time. If you really listen to her and do your work you can pass no problems.

She is a wonderful teacher. She really relates to the students and is very funny. She is pretty open about her OCD for grammar. She said she corrects grammar mistakes on restaurant menus. LOL!! she is great!!! VERY fair and is pretty laid back, not like most UPTIGHT english professors.

Ms. Davis is one of the best profs I've had. She believes firmly that students can't learn unless their challenged, but she doesn't hang you out to dry. She'll push you, but she'll meet you half way. She really wants you to succeed but she won't just give high grades because she's nice.

She's a great teacher but she's tough. She won't let you slack but she makes class interesting so you kinda want to pay attn (at least more than any other English class I've taken! LOL!!)

I took Ms. Davis for Comp I and Comp II, and she definately challenges students to do good work. She's tough on plaigarism but only if you try to steal work from other people or on line essays. She doesn't give you a zero for just a typo with quotation marks though!! LOL! If you struggle with writing I reccommend going to her office hours for help.

Yeah. She's definetly hot. She comes off like a hardass for the first half of the semester but then she loosens up. She teaches MLA details and stuff, but that's not why you'll fail. You fail if you plaigerise! She is extremely helpful if you see her in office hrs. Tough overall but still really nice.

I wouldn't recommend this class during the summer sessions because it literally ruins half of your summer. She gives tons of homework assignments and deductes points for minor errors. Five out of twenty students dropped, and many struggled. She's an Aggie, so that explains why she's a ****.

I have her for comp 2 and she definately assigns a lot of reading but she lets you work on essays in class. i've gone by her office a couple of times for help on essays and she was really nice and helpful. She's nicer in person than in class. she tells you strait up that she has high standards and she's not kidding! Just ask her for help.

She is one of the best profs I've had but she's not easy. She should probably be teaching at the University level. If you pay attention its pretty interesting stuff and you can tell she's really into it. But if you're not into writing or lit (or getting smarter), take someone easier. Go in to office hours to go over your drafts. VERY helpful!

Ms. Davis is cool and her class is only tough if you don't make an effort. If you're lazy don't take her because you have to do the work to pass. She's really funny, so I liked her class. She uses turnitin.com to check for plaigirism but she let's you do practice uploads so you can have a chance to fix any stuff that comes up highlited.

I took developmental writing course to improve my english. Before this class I scored 3 on Acuplacer. After this class I scored 7. Mrs. Davis is the best teacher, so nice and willing to help if you make an effort. She cares about students' and really knows how to explain things clearly. I wish I could take could take comp I from her to!

Mrs Davis is a GREAT TEACHER. I was fearful of writing, but with her teaching skills I learned how easy it is to write. She's comical, which made class INTERESTINGLY FUN in learning how to write. Best English Professor Ever!!!! TCC is lucky to have someone who cares so much about her students success. She has high standards for success and she made me work (more than I wanted too) but I'm glad I pushed myself, because my writing really improved. This class is NOT an easy A. You will work your butt off, but it is so worth it. She is such a fun teacher. She will do whatever she can to help you, so make sure you stop by her office at least once during the semester. A very nice, genuine lady who's number one goal is to see her students succeed.

Professor Davis is without a doubt the best English professor at TCC's south campus. She is very invested in each student's success in the class. She never just assigns a paper and leaves you to your own devices. She is there every step of the way to help, and make sure you are on track. Her grading is FAIR, so just make sure you're on point.

Without a doubt, I would be screwed without Ms. Davis. She not only helped my wit my writing skills, she helped me through a very difficult emotional and financial crises and was my knight in shining armor by finding poeple on campus who could help me. If you care about your education and life goals, take her class!

Mrs.Davis' class is a joy to attend. She pushes her students to perform at the highest levels at all times. You will have to read everything assigned, though it's not a taxing load. You will have to write, though the level must be high to achieve high grades. She will help you improve through extensive analysis of readings. Great class.

L.D. is a great teacher, her class is a little difficult, she grades hard but you will be a better writer when you leave her class, and you will have fun in her class. She is very funny. I am taking her for comp 2.

You need to read all assignments especially if she tells you about the "Surprise Learning Experience." They are never a surprise she always tells you about it ahead of time. Oh she might tell you that there is no Extra Credit, but depending on the semester, you might get lucky and get some.

Definitely not an easy A class, but she's really funny. If you don't read the stories you'll fail every quiz. And if you don't really pay attention while reading, you won't get an A. She doesn't just give out A's, you have to earn them. But shes a really really good teacher.

Professor Davis is a great instructor.She provides you with elaborate and clear instructions and resources for every assignment. All you need to do as a student is pay attention, follow direction, and put forth the effort. Professor Davis expects you to work hard, and if you do, your grade will reflect that.

I've taken five online classes now and think that Ms. Davis' was the clearest in terms of what she expected. She lays every thing out for the whole semester in to do lists step by step and includes detailed instructions for every thing. You write four essays but its an engl. class so that is typical I'd think. You could probably not buy the book.

Ms. Davis is a tough grader, but she's really funny and nice. She always returned grades and emails in a timely manner. I put as much effort as I could; got 100s on the orientation quizzes, some of the journals, but she always had something to say about my papers. This isn't a blow-off class by any stretch of the imagination, but do yourself a favor and take it anyway. Ms.Davis is excellent. She comes prepared, and you should too. Late papers will kill you, so give yourself time to do a good job, and take advantage of the resources provided in her lessons. You couldn't ask for a better teacher!

I like Mrs. Lindsey. I was passing her class with an A+ until her replacement came in halfway through the semester. She loves her job and she will do her best to help you pass. Funny, insightful, tough, interesting and good looking. She is an amazing professor and expects a lot from her students. Do not take this class if you are looking for the easy A. No book required for the class and 4 essays over 16 weeks. She is very hard on her grading and any plagerism will result in a 0 for the essay.

While she was a hard grader, she has been a delight to have as a teacher. As long as you complete a few articles, show up to class, have rough drafts, and ask questions then you are in the clear.

I took Prof. Davis's course Fall 2015 & it was a lot of fun. There was a Poetry Unit Quiz, Fiction Unit Exam, Drama Unit Exam, 3 papers, 6 "Surprise Learning Experiences", Peer Reviews for each paper -it was a really good class! If you have no more than 3 tardies/absences then she drops your lowest grade! I would definitely take her class again!

Professor Davis is hilarious. I took her class in the Spring semester. If you use all the resources she gives you like the peer review day and stuff like that you can get an easy A or B. She makes the class easy to pass if you pay attention and actually try.

Mrs. Davis goes out of her way to help you pass her classes. She will go over your papers with you and tell you want to change, and if you do it you get an A or B. She does not leave any questions unanswered, post very detailed information on work and then goes over it in class. Do what she asks of you and you will pass this class.

She Is positive on all levels, is clear about what she is looking for in assignments, and is readily available should students have any questions. I am sad that I am unable to take her for my second English course. This class rocked.

Funny but also very well prepared. Class runs like a well oiled machine. Will give feedback over email or in office hours before you turn paper in so take advantage of this! Very clear with her expectations and if you do what she ask you will do well but A is not guaranteed. You have to work for it. Learned a lot and really enjoyed the class.

I REALLY HATE ENGLISH. But this teacher made it so easy for me, she is young, nice and funny, so her class if full of good energy. Her teaching styles make is easy to understand. Only 5 papers and 1 test the whole semester. Not a lot of reading, just don't be lazy and put effort. Highly recommend if you've always struggled in English.

Good teacher! fits clear you are a bad writer she won't fail you but will try and push you to get better. total of 4 essays but will give you lots of examples of what she wants and will go over your paper with you multiple times before she gives you a final grade! drops your lowest grade at the end of the semester if you don't have any absences!

Professor Davis is easily among my all-time favorite teachers. I loved the class. She makes her expectations very clear and her grading rubric is very detailed and easy to follow. She is very encouraging and will be there to help if you need it. Regardless of your affinity for the subject, you will 100% pass the class if you legitimately try in it.

3 essays, 2 tests, about 10 daily grades. Great lectures, encourages deep thought and conversation. Very structured and expects people to not only do the work but think critically and follow directions. Not a blowoff class. In my opinion she is intelligent and hilariously witty. Especially during the COVID mess, Mrs. Davis went above and beyond to show she cared about us not just as students but as humans. She is kind and thoughtful and cares about what she teaches too. I think both extremes are hard to do in her class, to make an A or an F. She does her best to keep everyone on track who is trying. I'm grateful to her.

I never liked reading/writing but she really really helped me improve my writing. She encourages you to pick topics that matter to you which made the research a whole lot more interesting. She helps you whenever you need it but expects you to do your work. She's kooky and sarcastic AF which I love but may not be everyones cup of tea.

It's not an easy course, but she does teach this class with care. If you participate and ask questions, you can really take away something from this class. She helped me become a better writer. On top of that, I love how she was careful to pick writings from women and black literature. I loved everything she had us read and work on.

She required 3 essays, only one is a research paper and its only 4 pg. Really detailed clear instructions and rubrics helps a lot. Maybe it was only cuz of covid but she was super nice and chill on extensions. She did take a long time on grading. she writes a ton of feedback and she does these video recordings with feedback to. Very helpful.

Great professor! Clearly outlines what you need to do, and will go above and beyond in helping you with your paper. Three essays in one semester, and little to no homework. Really funny. Covid hit mid-semester and she went way out of her way to adapt everything online. Wish I could take her again.

She is a super caring teacher. Her feedback made me a better writer, but her patience with me made me a better person. If you listen to instructions you will do well. If you expect to just coast by her class, you won't. If you come to her class as a good writer, she will expect more of you than those who are just okay so be prepared to work!

This was my second time taking the course and its night and day difference between my first professor and professor Davis. She teaches things so much clearer and is very caring and supportive, I learned so much from her this semester despite being really nervous at the start that I was going to fail again. If you apply her feedback you can pass.

My first time taking this class and i loved it. There are 4 major essays and if you havent taken a college level writings class i would recommend you to visit the writing center prior to class. She grades by the rubric and provides clear instructions. If you come to class and try, you shouldnt have any issues. I recommend her class 100%

Professor Davis is great and is very helpful with providing feedback, she sends us feedback videos instead of emails which help so much and she is also hilarious. There are 3 major essays and they're usually over controversial topics which I don't mind but some do. She is a little tough grader on the essays, but she provides lots of help.

A total of three essays.The last one is a research argument essay and it is difficult. One exam and it is open book and a few quizzes. She gives good feedback sometimes as a video or just types it in the document. She does take forever though to put in grades. You do have to put it in the work if not she will fail you as she's a tough grader.

I loved Mrs. Davis, she really cares about her students and that you learn the material she provides. If you need any extra help after class she will help you out. She is very flexible if you communicate what is going on if you have any trouble with meeting deadlines. A great and caring teacher and I definitely recommend her.

She does fall a bit behind on grades & had to cancel class once or twice but she obviously cares about her students & provides the extensive feedback on your essays and outlines. She explains assignments and provides rubrics. Her class is not one you can just blow off but not it's not impossible, just put in effort!

Ms. Davis was a phenomenal professor to take for my Composition Two class. She is very kind and incredibly funny which makes her lectures so enjoyable. There are three major essays and you do have to put in a fair amount of work to be successful at them but she gives you lots of time and tons of resources so you never feel too overwhelmed. LOVE HER

Prof. Davis is the real deal. She cares about students and helped me get a scholarship!!! Any time u need help go to her office, she will help with whatever u need instead of acting put out like my govt prof. It was my 1st semester so I hope more of my teachers are nice like her…and not like my govt prof (C.J.)!!!
