This class was unnecessarily more difficult than it needed to be. The material is so straight forward, but her texts and quizzes were extremely ambiguous, and tricky. I would have learned much more had she not worked so hard to trip us up.
Very nice, funny and kept me interested but her tests were unnecessarily hard. It's pretty much straight memorization. To make matters worse, most terms you memorize have similar meanings which just made it tricky and annoying if you ask me.
She makes this course way more difficult than it needs to be, quizzes through mcgraw hill suck and lectures are just straight definitions that all overlap. Dont buy book, im glad i didnt
Class is way harder than it needs to be. The class is not streamlined at all and isn't organized very well. There are materials due on two different websites which makes keeping track of them difficult.
Her exams are SO hard for no reason. Assignments are scattered all over the place. Very unorganized. Pretty much have to memorize everything for exams & definitions are all similar to each other which makes it so much harder. I hate this class with a passion. The exam questions are so tricky. I wish another prof. taught this course
Many students don't like this class because it's not an easy A like it used to be with the old professors. In all honesty, though, the class challenges you to think like a manager. The class is book-heavy. Buy it and read it and you'll know the definitions. Prof. A is funny and kept me interested. People just don't like not having a free A.
Exams are very hard for no reason. Group assignments were a nightmare especially since the people in my group did not want to do the work. The people in my group were hard to get in contact with and did not meet the deadlines. There were 5 group assignments all with the same group of people. It was a very stressful and horrible experience.
Very unhelpful. Lectures were not coherent. Very unorganized. The MH connect portion of the class was confusing. Not a good professor.
Not too hard of a class. The grade is made up of three tests and three online quizzes which you can take twice and keep your highest score. Need a 93% (930 out of 1000 points) for an A and there's a chance to get up to 40 extra credit points.
- Tests are extremely hard and do not follow the booklectures. Expect to be tricked. Her goal is to have an 80% median on tests, so at least half of the students receive a C or lower on the tests. - Lectures were hard to follow and incoherent. Expect to hear a lot of "um", "ah" and general breaks in her speech pattern. Avoid if possible!
very hard tests and the material showed in class is very ambiguous with the material tested on the exams. I will not recommended this class if you're doing online classes.
Her lectures are a carbon copy of the information given to you in the textbook, making watching them a huge waste of time because the textbook gives you the information in a much more concise and easy to understand format. Her saving grace is the generous amount of extra credit she offers. Get the max amount of extra credit and you're golden.
Tests were tough. Felt like they were far different from what was talked about in class or in the book. Definitely do any extra credit available. You'll need every point you can get.
All the other reviews are right. Her tests are 10x harder than the practice exams. Questions are very tricky, especially on the final. I don't know where she even comes up with these questions. I had an A- in the class until I took that awful final exam and ended with a B, ruining my GPA. (
Yes, the tests are very tough but it seems to me she wants to make sure you learn the material. She is very nice and there to help you via office hours, during class if you go, answering emails, TA's always available, and even offers 40 pts extra credit. I am grateful she taught the class because I learned incredible amount of valuable info.
I need to write a post to defend professor A. Those people who complained so much probably did not do the required work (should watch lecture & read smokin notes) . 50% of the material was repetitive from marketing class and common sense, the rest is new material. You should pay attention to definitions. She tells you EXACTLY what's on the exam.
I am surprised with all of these bad reviews. To be successful in the class you should read the textbook and take detailed notes. Her lectures don't always include everything in the textbook, but you will definitely still be tested on it. A lot of the stuff is common sense. Her tests aren't always easy and there's always some confusing questions.
As this is an online course, the lectures are online. I didn't watch a single one as they're too long. Use Smokin' Note and you'll at least get a B. Be careful with assignments! They're not all listed in Canvas as she uses an online book for assessments. Extra credit is easy to get and will buffer a bad exam grade. Exams are on campus at night.
Dr. Archambeau's lectures are really long but they're pretty helpful. Reading the textbook and doing the learnsmarts are very useful (I didn't use the smokin' notes because it was still a lot to read). The exams are very fair (just read). Overall, the class is very easy if you read and do the 40 points extra credit.
Worst professor and class ever. Meant to be easy and makes it difficult to get a decent grade. No structure to her class and is not clear on anything. Her discussions are useless. Mind as well not even watch lecture because 90% of the things on the exam were all textbook. Got an A in finance but struggling to get a A here.
I would take any class she is offering. Her life experience as well as college experience gives you a crystal clear example of what to expect in the real world. She is very welcoming and wants to see you succeed. Its an easy class if you do the work and put in the time.
The test questions are extremely poorly worded, with answers put in to trick you. The lectures are dry and uninteresting. Her voice alone makes me want to jump off Heavener.
If you do all of the assignments, get all 40 points of extra credit, and get the smokin notes for the exams, there is no reason you shouldn't be able to get an A. Even if you never watch a single lecture all semester.
This class wasn't "hard" per se, but definitely one of the most boring classes I've taken at UF.
Those saying her tests were easy and they received an A, were we in the same class? I'm lucky if I made a C. Tests do not compare to the practice exams or quizzes.
I wish her successful CEO sister taught this class. She is very unclear on so many course mechanics and she is all over the place. Would've gotten an A if I didn't forget about one of the online assessments (50+ points). Do the extra credit online studies, get Smokin' Notes a few days before exams, skip lectures entirely -- you'll be happy you did.
The course is a bit disorganized with assignments all over the place, but if you stay on top of everything and turn in assessments and discussions when they are due, you will succeed. Put forth the effort and tests will be easy. I watched every lecture, read the text, kept on top of assignments, did the extra credit, and got an A in this class.
Long lectures so I only watched the ones where I needed clarity on the reading material. Her tests are tricky. I really didn't do well on the tests, but did the learn smart modules and a couple of gator management studies for some extra credit and ended the semester with a high B. Learned a lot from this class. Thought she was a good prof!
I don't understand why Dr. A is rated so poorly on this site. She's very quick witted and intelligent. This class is definitely not an easy A, but it's interesting and contains valuable information for anyone looking to work and become a manager. Honest,y, if you do all the work she asks of you and don't slack off, you'll do perfectly fine.
This professor tries too hard to be cool and act tough, which is off-putting. The exams are comprehensive and require studying but otherwise not a difficult course. Just stay on top of your assignments and studies and you should earn an A or B.
Professor Archambeau tries very hard to be cool, as said in other comments. She cracks jokes that are not funny and her lectures are not helpful. The lectures are boring and she basically reads off of the slides. I highly recommend smokin notes for this class and doing the learn smarts and her practice exam!
Pretty easy, I got an A. There were 3 exams, a group project, and a few other HW assignments. I used the smoking notes for the exams and used the learnsmart module questions to hammer home the concepts. Group assignments were a 3 page analysis of a business case study. Didn't watch the lectures. Felt like a psychology class geared to business.
This class wasn't horrible but it also was not my favorite! The group projects were annoying to deal with but were easy assignments, and your grade is only based on a few quizzes, the group projects, and your tests. There are opportunities for extra credit. Def a smokin notes class!
Pretty chill teacher, just make sure you get the Smokin Notes or you wont pass. Also be aware that you really need to read her textbook on top of that. I tried very hard and ended up with a B, and if I tried harder probably would have gotten an A. Also do the extra credit!
Class is easy, watched lectures only up until first exam then never watched a lecture again. If you purchase Smokin Notes and STUDY the notes, you will do fine on the tests. I ended up with an A- only .8% away from an A because of stupid mistakes along the way. Make sure you do well on all of the assignments, not hard to get 100 on everything.
One of the worst professors I've had and I'm only a month into her course. The exam questions are so confusing for no reason, not cohesive to the practice questions. And her lectures are horrible, impossible to follow. And her VOICE, it makes me want to throw my laptop across the room. Don't watch her lectures, they're useless. Just read the text
I want to preface this by saying I do not like ambiguity. Ok, that being said, if you are wanting to get an 'A' in this course, that is largely contingent upon how well you do on the exams. In my opinion, her exams are riddled with ambiguity. This felt more like a psychology course than a Business course.
One of the worst professors at UF. Tests are confusing and nothing like the practice tests.
My rating is solely based on poorly worded exam questions, designed to trick and confuse students. This is a deplorable way of evaluating our knowledge. I don't know if the professor wrote the exams (I doubt it), but she is certainly responsible for proofreading them. Students deserve better.
3 tests are where the majority of your grade comes from, make sure to buy smokin notes and take the practice exam on CONNECT before the tests as those questions were very similar to what you see on the exam. also there is some EC available if you really want that A+ just make sure to do the game learning study one on gatormanagement, very easy
Pretty much useless to go to class and watch lectures. Get the smoking notes, it has everything from the lecture, a week before the exam. Cram, and you will pass exams. The exams are poorly worded, confusing for no reason, missing the meat of the material. Easy to get 100s on her side assignments and group assignments. Do EC.
Very nice and knowledgeable lady. Watch lectures online and read the chapters, read the key terms at the end, read practice questions, and do all the learnsmarts and do them over and over again. Don't think this class is easy. It is a complex class with so many different words and topics to be learned in a short time. Tests contain many chapters.
beware of group assignment. Final grade went from a 93% to a 88% becasue my team member decided to plagiarize. Easy A overall.
This teacher, as well as her class, is a heaping pile of useless garbage. Students would be better off reading a few books on management than attempting to "learn" anything from the prepackaged load of crap in MAN3025. Sorry that this is a required course with a minimum of C for upstream courses. Just get through this and know none of it is useful.
Good professor, long lectures but an achievable A or A-
I used Smokin' Notes; the lectures didn't give a whole lot of new information. DEFINITELY do the extra credit!!
She is a good teacher, but be prepared to work because this class requires a lot of time. There are a handful of group projects that are a good chunk of your grade. The tests are ridiculously hard. I made a B on one and felt like I won the lottery. I ended up with a B+ in the class, but I definitely gave 100%! She's a great teacher and very fair.
I know a lot of people here in the reviews didn't really enjoy this class, but I honestly enjoyed it a lot. The lectures are all online, but I opted to go to the recordings instead, which, if possible, I highly recommend that you do. You can tell that Dr. Archambeau is really knowledgeable about the subject. All in all a good class though!
Lots of opportunity for extra credit. Tests can be worded pretty hard even if you know the info. Helpful professor who is good about answering any questions. Your grade is deff what you put into it/how much you study for tests. Group assignments that are annoying but you can pick your group. Graded on more things than usual in this type of class
Overall a useless class. Tests are tricky and there are a lot of typos, so your grade will suffer. Her lectures are useless. Do the extra credit as a grade buffer. I wish I didn't have to take this class--it's a waste
The exams are quite hard, but use Smokin'Notes! I didn't watch 1 lecture and managed to pass the class. However, I could have done better in the class if I had planned my studying better. Also, extra credit is a must, DO IT! do not let it pass!!! Group projects are a bit annoying.
Not too hard to do well in if you study before the tests, but all of the material is just so, so boring. Group projects tend to be easy points if you put the work in. Also, she loves to spoil movies for some reason, so that's no fun.
The professor is great and the movie examples help make a point during lecture. I love business and this is possibly the best class I have ever taken. If you plan to go into the business/corporate world, this course is absolutely crucial to your career. Exams are hard but as long as you study the chapters well, you will be fine.
Lectures are long but not too boring...I've had much worse! I only watched the lectures right before the exams while I studied, with the exam review next to me and that worked well. Lots of extra credit which is great. Group projects are a bit of a pain but not hard work at all, if you get a good group.
extra credit bumped me from a 91.5 to a 94.6 it will be your savior. tests aren't that hard, i only watched her exam review lectures and used smokin notes and got two As and a B on the exams
It does not matter if you read the whole book or watch all of her lectures, you will do badly on the exams because they are very, very poorly worded and are extremely confusing. Do the EC, group assignments and the other assignments are easy 100s, but do not expect to do well if you don't use something like Smokin'Notes.
such a hilarious women that makes me enjoy attending the optional lectures! lots of extra credit is available. Tests are somehow super tricky so be very familiar with the concepts from the exam review. Smoking notes are a must
class isn't too bad if u study a lot before exams. don't watch lectures just study smokin notes hard. group assignments are annoying (3-5 page papers, three of them) but doable. she allows 30 points of extra credit so make sure to do as much as you can bc it makes a huge difference. not a bad class overall just know the material well for exams.
Really nice lady that is extremely knowledgable on the information. Tests are difficult but study the smokin notes and you will get at least a C. Do well on assignments/extra credit and you will be fine. Overall, not very difficult but stay on top of it.
Hated this class, the assignments were easy as pie. The exams were HARD. Hardly anyone managed to get over a C. I went from being an A student to having a D after the first exam. Never recovered even though I got A's on every assignment and did all the extra credit. Prof never replies to questions. Exams were BRUTAL and determined your grade.
Class is straightforward and I think the professor gets a bad rap in some of these posts. Content is laid out in the syllabus. There are 4 group projects and 3 tests. The class is divided up into 3 segments and there are 5 chapters in each segment. If you reread the chapters 1-2x and watch the exam review then you'll be fine. Lecture not mand.
People are just mad they actually have to study for a college course. Her lectures are great, she explains everything well and includes tons of examples. Assignments are easy and she gives extra credit opportunities. smokin notes are not necessary if you watch the lecture. Exams are hard but if you actually study you'll do fine.
Exams are not horrible, buys smoking notes a week before the test and read them once a day. Group projects are easy if your group is good. Homeworks are also easy. I never read the textbook. Never watched the lectures either. If you study enough for the exam you will do fine, extra credit can help if you don't do well on those though.
I took this class as an engineering elective, and it frustrated me. Lectures were boring, she poorly communicated the group assignment format, and there was lots of ambiguity in the exams. The material isnt hard, but it seems like the useful material from the entire class could be condensed to the front and back of a sheet of paper. Not good.
The material is interesting and she seems like a nice enough professor but her exams are ridiculous. Her lectures don't cover the questions in the exam, it's just her talking about movies and food. Your grade is heavily weighted toward your exams and the exams are basically 60 trick questions. Smokin Notes is critical to get a decent grade.
This class was very demanding, so it was really hard to balance with my other 3 classes. The material itself wasn't hard, and I got good grades on all the assignments, but the tests were hard in my opinion!
This class covers 16 chapters. Do the extra credit learn smarts and EC Discussions. There are 4 group projects. Suggest doing them early in case your group members don't have great participation. Take good notes and use power points as well as textbook for 3 exams. Lot's of real world application questions. Clear expectations. Great class.
Just took her Exam 1. Like other's before me her exam's are worded TERRIBLY. It feels like she wants you to fail. Choose another professor, her lectures are boring and cover nothing that is on the exam. Use smokin notes if you want a decent grade.
I actually enjoy the subject matter, which is a shame because these tests & assignments are very confusing. I agree, it's like she's setting you up to fail. Do not take this professor. She takes an interesting class and ruins it with trick questions . I've never received below an A in a class and I currently have a C.
Professor Archambeau is great. I have no clue how she gets such bad ratings on here. The tests are easy if you watch the lectures and you read the chapters or Smokin Notes. This has to be the easiest A there is in the Business School.
This class is not a difficult class. However, lecture does not cover the amount of things that are tested for. At least 70% of grade is based on 3 big tests, the remainder is divided between easy open book assignments, and case application assignments. Case application assignment questions are very ambiguous and confusing.
Not sure how she gets so many negative reviews. This class is EASY EASY EASY. Grab the Smokin Notes, do the practice tests, and watch the test review lectures... that's it. Easiest class I've had so far in the business school.
Her class is easy, you do not need smokin notes and her exams are fair. a lot of information, but i loved this course. just stay up to date with lectures and the practice exams.
A great subject with a a lot of interesting material. Too bad it is taught by this teacher. Her lectures are horrible, she says "right" at the end of every sentence and what makes it worse is they don't help on the tests, which are supposed to be "application questions", but the questions are so out in left field that it is frustrating.
Easy class for anyone who pays attention. Some oddly worded test questions, but once you understand her style it is easy to understand what answers are correct. I personally enjoyed her conversational lecture style. Highly recommend!
Hated this class. She does not teach well and makes the tests tricky on purpose. Does have extra credit but it barely makes a difference. If you can avoid taking this class, do.
Unfair class. Exams are very hard, and I read the book. Lectures are useless, she wastes time going off on tangents. Exams are worth like 80% of your grade so there's not much else you can do to improve your grade. Only other assigments are assessments (open book, non-timed tests) and a group project. You can earn 30 pts EC, which you'll need.
Bro... very nice lady. No issues with her personally. However, if you bum a test mad hard, you're hosed. The tests are so gd hard, the way they are worded, the triple-negatives used for questions, it's just unnecessary. Unfortunately, this does not make learning enjoyable for tolerable. Lectures don't help for test, just read the book and pray.
kids, be prepared to buy 2 tubs of BOGO Edy's ice cream at public bc ure gonna need it after these exams. archambeau is nice, helpful, and passionate but the tests are so mad hard u better pray to the almighty sky fairy if u want a chance at doing well. too much content. Exam 1 was pretty fair, exam 2 was just terrible, exam 3 was a big big oof.
The professor really wants everyone to do well and cares about everyone's grades. It's a hard class, but if you study a lot, you should be fine. There's a decent amount of extra credit to help out, and I liked my group so group projects were fine. The professor has an entertaining personality. Overall, the class was hard but enjoyable.
Honestly the class itself is not that hard, but the exams are beyond difficult. She sets the answer choices so similar to trick you, and is not understanding at all when it comes to them. All of the other work is easy but the exams will kill your grade. Nice lady just difficult.
The work is not bad and there is a lot of extra credit opportunity, but the tests are absolutely ridiculous. They do not test your ability and understanding of the material, they test your ability to read questions and answers.
This class is a hard course but if you study you should be fine. My biggest issue is with the professor replying to emails. I have sent emails from canvas even the regular UFL email. Not once have I gotten a reply back this semester it's really discouraging when students try to contact their professor all semester and can't receive any replies...
Dr. Archambeau's class is VERY boring! Don't watch her lectures as they are a waste of time. The material is boring and dry. Get Smokin' Notes, study them closely and you'll do just fine. Definitely max out the extra credit too!
The lectures were very long and tedious. I often skipped or didn't pay much attention to the them. The material is straight forward but the exams can be tricky. Stick to smokin notes and be ready to memorize a lot of information.
Words can't describe how frustrated I am. I am an A/B student, A's in all economics and accounting classes, and an A+ in calculus. The practice material/lectures/learnsmart do nothing to prepare you for exams, which are so illegible you're rapidly too exhausted to even process any info. UF cares about research > education. Feeling sad & betrayed.
Professor Archambeau is the worst professor I have had in the Warrington College of Business at UF. Her lectures have little to no relevance to what you will be tested on, she rambles on about irrelevant topics and fails to relate her lectures to the course material. The tests are misleading and do not correlate to the study materials. Good luck.
She is not very professional when it comes to emailing her students back at all. She will not answer until you email multiple times. She is inconsiderate to anything you are going through. Her exams barely cover the review. She gave lots of extra credit and not a lot of work, however being a good teacher is more than the work you give out.
She was my first professor I took at UF, I didn't find it "extremely" difficult. I took a class at community college with this exact same textbook, so that helped me. The lectures are long, yes, but I found them helpful. Exams are difficult, I averaged a B. Group projects are fairly easy. Definitely do that extra credit Learnsmarts, they help!!!!
This class isn't difficult as long as you put the work in. The tests are tricky but I've managed to do well on them by memorizing notes I took from the book. I don't watch any of her lectures. The group projects are easy. I highly recommend doing the extra credits because it will help you in the end.
She is the worst teacher I have had in all my years of school. She has little to no interaction with her students outside of lectures and is very inconsiderate. She also answers no emails. I had her during the COVID-19 incidents and all i have to say is hope nothing life changing happens to you when you have her because she will not make it easier.
AVOID IF CAN! The absolute worst teacher. Lectures do not help on exams, do not even watch them, it WILL waste your time. You can earn 30 pts e.c but it barely does a thing. SHE WILL NOT ANSWER YOUR EMAILS until you send multiple, she may still not reply. If she doesn't want to interact w students she should pick a different profession, good luck.
The lectures were long and boring, but they did cover all the material on the exam. I highly recommend reading the textbook thoroughly and studying the smokin notes well in advanced before exams since there is a lot of material. The class wasn't too time consuming and was actually interesting. Overall just an average class with difficult exams.
MAN3025 isnt that difficult, but it got so annoying at times. Be careful on the assessments and group projects and maximize your points on those. Do the extra credit. Study for the exams using her review lecture, practice exam and read Smokin Notes and you should get at least a B. Exam questions were sometimes very weird and didnt make sense.
While Professor Archambeau's lectures are very good and entertaining, the exams are very difficultly worded. Watch the lectures but be sure to read the textbook word for word because there will be at least a handful of things of each exam that isn't in the lectures. Group projects are fairly easy if you have a good group. Do the extra credit!
Dr. Archambeau is great. Her lectures are interesting. Tests are worth a HUGE portion of your grade so be prepared to study. I used Smokin' Notes which I think helped. There are a few group projects which aren't bad. Do the extra credit! It's what helped me get a A- instead of a B+.
This class was all about the exams. I read the text book and watched the lectures but after the first exam realized the lectures were no help. Don't waste your time on the ridiculously long lectures. Read the text, do the extra credit, and get smokin' notes if you need help beyond the text.
First time I've ever gotten below a B-. The content itself is not hard but the professor does her best to make it unnecessary hard with the worst questions I've ever seen. An ESL kid could write better exams. There is extra credit but it wont help much. Case assignments destroy your grade for no reason. Basically teach yourself and pray.
She's actually a nice person and has really informational lectures, but the class itself is really hard. The material isn't hard to understand but the exams are hard. The case assignments are difficult and what mostly kill your grade. I would say study, but there's no guarantee it'll actually help. She gives lots of extra credit though... good luck
Where do I even start? Don't even watch the lectures. Just read the textbook and study Smokin Notes a week before the exam. All the online work is not hard accept for the Case Assignments. You would think that there is only 1 correct answer, but once you take the exams and realize how the questions are written, 2 answers look right. Ambiguous.
Horrible class. The lectures are long and she just reads off 10 year old PowerPoints that are horribly formatted. Better off just memorizing the textbook. The exams are complete filled with ambiguous and opinionated multiple choice questions. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IN THE SUMMER!!! She does case assignments that averaged 60% and killed grades.
The worst professor I've had in my 4 years of college. Her tests are absolutely insane, Multiple questions on the exam with only wrong answers. How are you going to give the same questions on the practice exams and not include the correct answer? I emailed her & the TA's and NOBODY contacted me back. It's sad when an advisor warns you about a prof
I really want to know how she is teaching at UF?? She is absolutely terrible. Her class was nothing but tests (3) and 10 point assignments (easy) but do nothing for your grade. Her test is set up to fail you. The material is easy to learn. I really believe she wants everyone to fail bc her tests are straight trash. Garbage. Shes garbage.
This teacher is one of those who legitimately just wants to see their students fail. She is an awful lecturer and she makes the exams confusing n purpose. She gives a lecture telling you what to know and what not to know and then purposely puts stuff from the do not know section on the exam. Worst teacher at UF bar nun.
The lectures are the key to the tests, but some questions are also from the textbook. SmokinNotes is a life saver on this class! Generally easy class, the tests are kinda confusing though!
She does not care in any way about her students. My dad passed away right before the final exam and she was not kind and did not create accommodations for my difficult situation. She has boring lectures and does not teach the subject well at all. Might as well buy smokin notes.
Class itself is not hard- exams make it stupidly hard. Exams are structured in a very unorganized way (ex: she makes a mistake in a question, has to drop it, never drops it; puts on questions about material that was not supposed to be on the exam). Be ready to read textbook to learn, did not find her lectures helpful. Do all extra credit
Do the extra credit. Her exams can be somewhat unreasonable. My class specifically had material on one exam that she had literally placed into a PowerPoint slide labeled "WILL NOT BE ON EXAM". Use SmokinNotes. I didn't watch her lectures. Personally, I think it's a waste of time. Nice lady, but poor professor.
I didn't watch any of the lectures, I just studied from smokin notes and I got an A. If you do that, make sure you really understand the material. Also, DO the extra credit you can earn up to 30 points
I didn't watch any of the lectures, I just studied from Smokin notes and I got an A. If you do that, make sure you really understand the material. Also, DO the extra credit you can earn up to 30 points.
The professor does an amazing job taking extremely easy, common sense topics and using that information to craft ridiculously difficult exams. I studied the textbook, lectures, and Smokin' Notes and still could not get an A. I wound up very close to an A but did not make the cut. The information truly is simple, but the exams aren't.
There is no reason for this class to be as stressful as it is. The material is straightforward but the professor doesnt know how to write a test. The tests are hard because the questions are unclear and full of spelling mistakes. Tests you more on if you can read her mind than if you read the chapter. Still, skipped the lectures and got an A.
Material is very easy, but this professor makes the exams as frustrating as possible with test questions which have multiple answers, many spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, and even test questions duplicates. I wouldn't even bother with her lectures since she states "This won't be on the exam" explicitly and yet it still appears on the exam.
Could care less about students. Emailed about medical emergency days before exam and she asked why I was telling her about this. Exams questions are hard to understand. The lectures and readings are barely related. Easily the worst professor Ive had at UF so far.
The content of the class was interesting, but the lectures honestly did not help at all and they were boring. DEFINITELY use Smokin Notes. It helps a lot. Also, make sure to do all the extra credit (30 points) because that is great at the end of the semester when you might be on the borderline of any grade.
With any class, people love to exaggerate and complain. Definitely invest in smokin notes. The exams did have some mistakes, but they didnt affect my ability to understand what she was asking. I like her lectures a lot but smokin notes helped me study since its a lot of info. Definitely one of my easiest classes this semester.
Definitely an easy class, but the tests are very time consuming to study for. She can also get very tricky on exam wording. Get smokin notes and start studying like a week in advance, and you'll be okay. I could've gotten an A, but I focused on my difficult classes more. Lectures are very boring, but watch them if you are more of a visual learner.
Study for the tests. The rest of the work is easy but you must do well on the tests. Conceptually understanding the content is extremely essential because the questions on the test are almost purposely confusing and can lead you to poor grades.
The topics and definitions in this class are simple and easy; however, Dr. Archambeau makes this class unnecessarily difficult. The exams are difficult because she writes them in a way to confuse you on purpose. You have to read the questions at least 3 times to understand them. Make sure you actually study because there are no practice exams.
Class is pretty difficult but not impossible. Exam 1 is pretty straightforward but exam 2 and 3 are much more difficult. Understanding the concepts is key to success as her wording on the exams can be extremely confusing. She seems like a nice lady but her tests are unnecessarily difficult.
Professor A is very nice and has good lectures. The course has 3 exams and 16 role play assignments. The assignments aren't very hard but the exams can be. I would recommend smokin notes and reading the textbook to help study. The exam questions are worth a lot so I would study up for the tests. Make sure to do the extra credit ( up to 30).
This class was much harder than what it needed to be. The exams contained so many badly written questions you couldn't even guess what your score would be. I recommend using Smoking notes religiously and going to the TA office hours for extra help (Russel's ones saved me). With the easy assignments and extra credit passing shouldn't be hard.
so, I started strong. read the book, studied, smokin notes, watch a few lectures. took the 1st exam, got an 84% on it. I did all the assignments and extra credit. I used smoking notes for the last two test, I didnt really study or apply myself and still ended up with a C+.
Yes there is extra credit, but for the mere reason that her exams are bad. She tries to be tricky with the questions when she can just be straightforward with "situational" scenarios about the things that were taught. Her lectures are definitely not the best source of information - try SmokinNotes. The class could have been so much better.
Dr. Archambeau had many lectures that were often really long and boring. I didn't find that they helped me learn very much. I love management and leadership, yet this class made it seem like a bore. Class is exam heavy and they are confusing- Smokin Notes were helpful!! She is kind of rude (yelled at tech person) and never really answered my emails
Professor Archambeau makes an easy subject more complicated than it needs to be. As many have said, SmokinNotes is a must-have. But, you have to remember even the tiny details to get an above-average grade. Utilize the extra credit. It will more than likely boost you by a letter grade. Overall, It's a passable course, but the exams are annoying.
This is the worse class I ever had to take at UF. Her lectures are too disorganized and confusing. It is truly best to just read the smokin'notes material and the textbook. The review for the exam are not really participative for you to ask questions about the content and honestly if you do ask questions you can end up more confused.
I would not recommend this class to anyone who can take an alternative. The lectures barely cover what will be on the exams, i eventually just stopped watching them. exams make up a large portion of the final grade. I read every chapter, took hand written notes and studied for a week before all three exams. Smokin notes helped.
I got an A without ever hearing the professor's voice. All I did was give myself 3-4 days to cram Smokin'Notes before the exams, it's fr that easy. The extra credit is easy and allows you to add up to 3% to your final grade. I waited until her exam reviews came out to start learning the material, as they tell what will and what won't be on the exam
Lindy isn't the best. Her tests are really difficult because of her wording choice and there is a lot of vocabulary to learn. I got a B on all 3 exams. Do the practice exams and the extra credit! Keep up with the material and don't start studying the day before the exam and you will do fine.
This class should be much easier than it is. It's like she enjoys the usage of trick questions on Exams. Smokin-Notes is a must-have!
Just a badly designed, confusing, and overwhelming class. She is cold, stern, and thinks shes better than everyone.
I maybe watched half the lectures. That being said, Dr. Archambeau is engaging and tries to keep it light by using real-world examples, videos, movie clips, etc. Smokin' Notes was key. 3 exams make up 70% of the grade, so don't take studying lightly. Follow the SN 3-day or 5-day study plan and you can do very well in this course. I got an A
This class is honestly pretty tough. There is lots of material to get through, and it is extremely exam heavy. 30% of your grade comes from homework, which is basically free points. 70% comes from exams, and the exams are no joke. Tricky wording and multiple answers that sound correct. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!!! BROUGHT ME FROM A- to an A!!!
Doesnt care about her students
This class is despicable solely due to the incompetence of the professor. The class is useful but the professor contradicts herself and the textbook yet we are tested on both. She said apple is not an innovative company but apple is one of the most innovative companies. Does not understand her own material or how it applies to the real world. sad.
If I could've avoided this professor I would've. Unfortunately she's the only option for this course. The material and content is fair but her exams are ridiculous.
Professor actively tries to trick you on exams. Her wording on exams is so bad and unclear that it is sometimes extremely difficult to know the right answer even if you do study for hours and hours.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
She makes management feel like orgo
Listen to me when I say to run from this professor. She is absolutely ridiculous. Her exams are worded as if we are taking a Spanish exam. Literally cannot understand a single thing she is asking in the questions even if you studied the material. RUN
Likely the worst professor in Warrington. She is just simply terrible and neglects to proofread her exams. This class is management yet the only application of the material is some not-helpful role plays we do. It's pathetic how bad this class is.
She makes management so unnecessarily difficult even for those who understand the content. The questions on her exams make no sense and have a million typos in them. She doesn't proofread the exams and puts duplicate questions. She is rude during lectures and you can tell that she does not care about her students. UF please let someone else teach.
I like her, she integrates humor and real world examples with the course content. There is a problem with some exam questions, but you can still easily do well if you learn the material and do the extra credit. I’m an older disabled student, I passed on smokin notes and focused on reading the text and her lectures. I will likely get an A or B.
Get Smokin' Notes so you don't have to attend lecture. I've gotten an A on every exam so far, but I will say the exams are quite difficult. The way in which the sentences are structured are often filled with grammatical errors and misplaced modifiers, which makes understanding the problems difficult. Study a week in advance at LEAST, LOTS of info.
DEFINITELY get smokin notes for this class. Smokin notes is the reason I passed. Professor Archambeau does not provide enough content to help benefit you for the exams. The exams do not align with the stuff she teaches in her lectures. 3 exams, and short homework assignments every week. Not a huge workload.
She truly is an awful professor. Her exams are riddled with spelling errors and duplicate questions. She words her questions so that they are hard to understand and figure out. You have to get Smokin' Notes to pass this course. She gives 30 point of extra credit so do everyone that you can because you will need them.
Probably the most unprofessional professor I have had at UF. Tests are riddled with errors, and she is cold in person. She puts forth little effort in designing the class. Smokin' Notes are a must.
Nothing that hasn't been said before. Join a groupme for entertainment because you will lose your mind and it's nice to know your thoughts are shared with 1000 other students. Smokinnotes are a must and for the love of everything do the extra credit you WILL need it. This class has me doubt that UF actually reads gator evals, nothing has changed.
Lots of errors on test (although that could work out in your favor if you're lucky). Doing extra cred is very helpful for your grade. Content learned in this class was kinda useless lol, lots psychology stuff. Smokin notes helps. Definitely do her practice exams multiple times before the exam
These reviews had me terrified, but the class was cool. I got an A by watching the lectures and reading the book. Smokin notes was a waste, and nothing more than chapter reviews. You can't fake your way through it, and you have to use your brain and learn, which may be challenging for some. The professor was awesome. Do the extra credit!
Don't let these other reviews scare you! MAN3025 is not that bad. Yes, the exams are really annoying, but as long as you take the time to study (maybe like 5 days ahead), you should do just fine. Definitely cop Smokin Notes - I literally did not watch one lecture after the first exam and pulled an A just by cramming with those. ALSO, DO THE EC!!!
Contrary to most of these ratings, Archambeau is not bad. It's easy to blame others instead of taking responsibility for your own actions. Read. the. textbook. and use SmokinNotes to study for exams and this class is an easy A. I didn't watch any lectures, I didn't find them helpful. DO ALL EXTRA CREDIT, it'll bump you up a letter grade.
Few things: a lot of homework, need Smokin Notes, and application based test questions. Also, response time for emailing is insanely long for both TAs and professor. Be ready to read an entire textbook worth of management material. Good news though is that marketing and management have many of the same concepts and both use Smartbook.
Poorly prepared professor who doesn't grade. Had ~4 group essays & only the 1st was graded within ~1wk. Went into the final with 2 grades (1 added 30min before). Never knew what needed improvement. Exam was mostly confusing multiple choice, which made no sense since all assignments were written. Lectures were useless but had fun activities lol.
Easy class. Exams kind of hard. Most people got smokin notes to do well. Lots of extra credit. Homework is super easy. Don't need to go to class she posts the powerpoints.
Professor Archambeau is very kind and cares about her students. She is very approachable and understanding. Only 69% of the grades come from exams. The assignments were easy. She gives a variety of extra credit opportunities to choose from. Use Smokin'Notes.
Semester ends soon and have only been graded on two quizzes- no group assignments or written work have been given any kind of feedback. Group work, although necessary, is also annoying and generally unhelpful. Professor is kind and accommodating and course is easy enough, but late grades and frustrating group work isn't ideal.
The worst class I have ever taken. Do not take this class if you do not have to. The topic should be fun and inspirational. This class is an example of making an easy thing hard.
Exams didn't assess understanding concepts. Instead, they seem to have been written to ensure a large portion of the class scored beneath an A. The questions are poorly written and are posed in ways that allow for several correct answers depending on their interpretation. It is a complete toss-up & feels like gambling regardless of study habits
Don't let the other ratings scare you - Professor Archambeau is a wonderful professor who cares about the subject matter she's teaching. The tests are tough but doable. Do the extra credit, watch her lectures, and get Smokin Notes - You'll do fine.
This subject should be a great intro to management in business. Sadly this professor ruins that. She is completely unorganized and illiterate. The tests seem more like riddles you must decipher than actual questions. Unfortunately, she is the only professor who teaches this course, get smokin notes to save time for yourself.
Make sure to watch the videos & get smokin notes to prep. How you do on the first practice exam and her own practice exam will give a good idea of the test. It's not that difficult. Do the gator management extra credit, the smart book, and watch the lectures so you know what is important.
It's one of the easiest classes in the business school. Her lectures are very boring, but they are imperative to passing the exams unless you read the entire textbook. There are many extra credit opportunities offered and they are definitely worth it.
There's some extra credit, but the class isn't too bad. You can literally cram an entire exam into like 2 days of studying and get an A
Professor class itself is made up of weekly smartbook assignments, and 3 tests and 3 exams The tests are over a certain chapter if you study the chapter you should be ok. The exams are definition and conceptual. Do the practice exam, and smokin notes are a plus Read book and do extra credit
Incoherent, rambling lectures with no structure. Says things won't be on the test, and then they are. Practice exam unavailable for the final. Assignments, notes, slides don't reflect what's on tests. Lecture content differs from book. Smokin Notes will not help much either. Students gave feedback on poor questions, her reply "agree to disagree".
I only took this class because I had to and I would not recommend it. I did not get smokin' notes because I did not want to waste my money and I did the bare minimum for this class and still passed so theres that. It can be done but you definitely won't have fun doing it.
Awful professor. Takes ages to respond to emails, lectures are useless. If you read the textbook and take good notes, you won't need SN. Material is easy, but exams are hit or miss bc the questions are worded so poorly. Multiple answers seem like they could be correct, so it's a guessing game. Do the EC, it's easy and adds 3% to your final grade!
This class is not at all hard, I'm not sure why it is rated as difficult. Going into this class all you need to do is memorize the smokin notes and spam her practice test prior to the exam and you will do well. Do all of the extra credit as it could be clutch end of semester.
I was wary at the start of the semester because of all the negative reviews. I don't get what all the complaints were about. It's a test-heavy course, but she gives plenty of extra credit opportunities to pad your grade. Get SmokinNotes, if you can; the practice quizzes are helpful. But I think you can still pass by studying w/the textbook quizzes.
There is really nothing wrong with this professor, I was concerned reading her reviews before taking the course but they seem fabricated. She gives the most extra credit compared to any course I have taken. Her exam reviews are accurate and the practice exam gives great insight into the actual exam.
Class was just exams and some easy assignments in connect. A couple weird writing assignments but all easy to keep up with. Do yourself a favor though just skip the lectures and get smokin notes. They explain it way better and more straightforward. Not a hard class, just weird almost common-sense info- take practice exams and do extra credit
GET SMOKIN NOTES!! her lectures are so bad, but if you have smokin notes you are set for the class. Her questions are tricky, so pay attention when reading it. Do the extra credit because it helps a lot. Not a lot of assignments, overall an easy A.
This class seems to be overhyped and is not actually difficult at all. Smokin notes is great if you want to save time and still get an A. Test questions are worded in a lengthy and confusing manner. Do not attempt to cheat in this class because Prof, Archambeau will report you to the DSO.
Professor Archambeau is a mediocre professor. Her lectures are not helpful. She repeats almost everything the textbook says. Extra credit is available for the class, and most of the class assignments are done in SmartBook. Her exam questions are usually not clear or concise, but her reviews cover the content asked about in the exams.
As long as you do well on the exams, you'll do fine in this class. I used Smokin' Notes and just looked over flashcards and took their practice exams the day before the tests and did fine. Do the extra credit as well, its worth it.
While Archembau is a humorous orator, she is mostly an ineffective lecturer. Her tests are extremely dense and random, it felt like there was no way to prepare. I used lectures and smokin' notes but still felt blind going into the tests. I probably just hate the subject material as it gave superfluous and unnecessary def. to innate processes.
The exams are poorly written, with multiple answers technically true and essential context habitually excluded, which felt like gambling. 20 minutes of tardiness warrants a zero on an online exam which accounts for 25% of your grade. Homework was easy and I definitely enjoyed the concepts as they were well-taught and useful for me and my business.
A great personality, but very tough to give an upstanding rating when studying for a week doesn't prepare you for the curveballs she throws into her tests. Given a 20 minute window to open exams or it's a 0. Book assignments were enjoyable and informative though. Complete all the extra credit, nearly bumps you up a letter grade.
She def was not my favorite professor. The class was not the hardest, I took about 3 days to study for each exam and I never invested in Smoken Notes. I did all the extra credit, and read the textbook, but sometimes she would ask about stuff that she explicitly mentioned wasn't going to be on the exam. An A is possible but requires a lot of time.
Many negative reviews are heavily overstated. This class is like a glorified high school psychology course with some business. If you give minimal effort can easily pass this class. She gives credit back for her exam mistakes. Smokin' notes is not necessary for this class. Homework is the easiest homework you will have for any class at UF.
Class does not encourage learning whatsoever. The answers to each test and quiz are hidden so you are left guessing what you got wrong and unable to appeal. Professor also does not proofread which leads to incorrect answers and unnecessary information on quizzes (which are created by McGraw-Hill). Overall, a very frustrating class and professor.
Terrible professor, also accused 1/3 of the class for cheating...
Not particularly the best professor is known for accusing a ridiculous amount of the class for cheating. Entering her exams late is an automatic 0 regardless of the reason. Class is easy but very uninteresting and the professor does not make it particularly interesting either.
One of the worst professors UF has to offer. Doesn't teach anything really, kinda just repeats the text book. Her entire job is done better by the smokin notes packets for the class. Extremely unfair to her students as well. Accused more than half of class of cheating last year
Hilarious email following the first exam each semester where she accuses half the class of cheating. It appears to be identical to the previous semesters emails, I almost think it is scheduled yearly. Exams differ from the assignments as the questions are her own from long long time ago. Many nuances to the questions. Find a good quizlet to study.
Professor Archambeau has interesting, yet almost useless lectures. Along with this, her exams contain questions that are worded horribly and are often misleading. This counterintuitive aspect makes a class that is not very difficult in material very frustrating.
continuation post: Furthermore, before the second exam, she released an announcement regarding honorlock troubleshooting because of many recent problems surrounding the exam proctoring service. Not only did none of the troubleshooting tips work, but she said even if honorlock was not working correctly, a late entrance to an exam would be a zero.
continuation part 3: This is not only very irresponsible but inconsiderate to anyone slow to troubleshoot computer problems, or those with any genuine excuse. With all of these in mind, I believe Archambeau should be removed from the business college and is no longer fit to be a professor.
Awful experience, got an A in the class but she sent me to the dean accusing me of cheating. I was never once notified, nor did I cheat. They ruled in her favor, so I am currently retaking the class. Awful at answering emails & very inconsiderate to personal issues. Will give u a 0 if you're late to the test and enjoys accusing students of cheating
Easy A
Sucks that they make you take this professor for business majors. Exam questions are basically opinions, and every question is arguable. The definition of someone who is over-educated and didn't do anything with her life.
Crazy how a professor can get paid 130k + and just use connect. Her office hours and test times are super weird and she gives you a 0 on test if you are late by 10 min. Very hard to get ahold of. She needs to be removed from business school and can tell she is over educated with no experience in real world. These kind of people do not need to teach
Material in the class was useless. The exams were subjective, poorly worded and did not make sense. The proctored chapter quizzes weren't much better. I didn't have any problems with the professor specifically, but this was the worse class I've had in years. Moderate effort and still got A. It is worth getting smokin notes
A class that should not be hard turned incredibly difficult by horrible exam questions that are almost all subjective. It's wild to me that professors can get paid well for literally just using Connect which we have to pay for in addition to tuition. The most dull class it had me questioning my major at times. Just get Smokin Notes and do the EC.
This class is overly stressful for no reason, with the exams having some questions with multiple right answers. What should be a fun, hands-on learning experience in the world of management is bogged down by nonstop proctored quizzes/exams and a copious amount of textbook reading. Archambeau will give a 0 if you show up to an exam 1 second late.
Quiz and exam questions mostly have multiple answers and questions are unclear. Exams are on Canvas, while the rest of assignments are on Connect. Professor isn't clear on that and doesn't post it on the calendar, so it was an easy zero on the first exam. Prof is extremely strict and hard grader. Connect assignments are easy except for quizzes.
All she does is basically repeat the textbook. Her lectures are completely useless and the material is not helpful at all. She gives you a 0 if you arrive more than 15 min late on a test. She basically accuses half the class of cheating and is very strict overall.
Lectures were not helpful and the assignments and quizzes were nothing like the exams. She gives a practice exam but the questions are wordy, confusing, and repetitive. Use smokin notes and read the textbook, do not know why this class even has a professor as everything is through connect, she only is concerned about peope cheating, not learning.
Basically all lecutres were summaries of the textbook, so I just stopped watching them and felt better about the exams, she also rambles on about random things during lectures. Material isn't difficult but exam questions are 'choose best fit' so you might be right but will get it wrong if it isn't the best answer.
Lectures just summarize the chapters. Do yourself a favor and just read the book to limit any confusion you might experience watching the lectures. Tough grader on the discussion boards and group papers, use a lot of key concepts. Using just one won't be enough and will dock you points.
Professor is useless, TA's are more useless, exam's are worded in a way where you're meant to get it wrong. I spent a week studying for the last exam and I ended up with a C- on it somehow and a B overall when I am an A+ student. No matter how much studying I did it didn't matter bc the exam had questions phrased so bizarrely. I hate this professor
Overall, the class isn't the worst if you do your readings, watch lectures, and do practice questions. I recommend Smokin Notes for this class, explanations on SN are easier to understand. I never went in person, but I liked how she applied real-world examples to our content. Exams seemed sort of difficult because of the wording she may use.
The exam questions were super specific things from the textbook. Smokin notes was useful to an extent but the exams were unpredictable. Would not recommend taking during the summer term.
The class content can be manageable if you stay engaged, but the exams are tricky due to the wording. I found Smokin Notes and unstuck study helpful for study prep. Attendance is mandatory, so stay consistent. Overall, it's a course you can get through with diligence.
Thought this class would be a lot worse based on reviews. Class is test based so Smokin Notes is recommended. She doesn't play much of a role besides emails. Connect assignments are super easy and dont take long.
Hilarious is the only way to describe wording for her tests. All questions are multiple choice, with the correct answer sharing 4/5 words of the sentence with another answer. Test is designed for the student to get tired looking for detail and do poorly. Closes homework assignments so you cant check what you did good and what you didnt. hilarious.
Worst teacher I had in my 4 years with the University, get her out of here! Especially considering she teaches a class that is a prerequisite for so many others, for her to be as rude and non caring as she is, is beyond me
she wants you to fail. exams are meant to confuse you. she writes her own exams but doesn't know what complete sentences are. management course that is supposed to teach how to manage for success, well the teacher manages for student failure.
Professor Archambeau is charismatic; it made watching her lectures fun. I'd recommend watching the class lectures and taking good notes as well as getting smokin notes and reading and take notes on the packets while watching her exam review videos to understand what to study. Doing both of these things made me always feel prepared for exams.
Professor Archambeau is a very passionate and caring teacher. Her lectures are important to watch because she gives a lot of great examples and videos to help students understand content. Her exams are mostly application of concepts and she only provides one practice exam, so Smokin Notes is super beneficial for extra practice and examples!
Professor Archambeau was an entertaining professor and plays movie clips to help the students understand the lesson. The class is mainly graded by exams and smokin notes was useful for extrta help with studying!
Dr. Archambeau is knowledgeable in the material and has clear grading criteria, which makes the course expectations straightforward. However, her response time to emails is quite slow, which can be challenging when taking the class online. While the class has strong content, much of the experience felt independent and lacked her active involvement.
I took this class because I had to for my major. The text is McGraw Hill so be prepared for hours upon hours of worthless and mind numbing readings. The exams are extremely tricky for no reason at all. All these management theories are useless in real life. The professor clearly just regurgitates the textbook that was provided to her. Run.
Her tests are bs unless u get lucky with the random assigned questions. She screwed up my 4.0.
I loved her lectures! She is funny and uses video clips from popular shows to explain different points. Lots of reading, but if you watch the lectures, read the chapters, and do all the assignments, you can easily get an A. She also offers 20 points of extra credit, so do that too! It's a great buffer if you're on the edge of a letter grade!
Wasted opportunity to introduce students to the field of management. Turns dynamic subject matter into stale, uninspired regurgitation of textbook terms and definitions. Multiple choice exams are a terrible method of evaluation for this material. This entire course should be restructured. I genuinely feel that I have gained nothing from this class.
She is scatterbrained which hinders her ability to lecture. Her quizzes are pure busywork and do not help out with the exams. Her exams are ambiguous and there can be multiple correct answers. You are better off not watching her lectures and purchasing Smokin Notes
I don't think I have ever come out of a class and thought that I GENUINELY learned nothing. Lectures taught absolutely nothing, textbook is not a helpful way to learn management. Cool topic ruined by a terrible class structure. Exams are probably the worse ive ever taken in all of UF. Written terribly, completely useless class don't take if you can
I was better using SmokinNotes for the class. Even then, her tests were ambigious and the homework assignments were nothing in comparison.
This course was not the best. Her lectures are useless and are not worth the watch at all. Exams are very difficult with most questions being subjective with multiple correct answers. Purchase smokin notes as it will help you.
This class is a joke. Mainly common sense on homeworks. Exam questions can be tricky but it's not difficult to do well on them.
I found the lectures useless and shallow. If you study based on lectures you will not pass the class because the exams rely on the textbook (there is 1 concept in exam 3 that the lectures cover, but the book doesn't & she just shows a table). She expects you to know 150+ definitions from the book when she herself messes them up during lectures.
While the course material is easy to comprehend, her exams are often choose best fit. I would fully recommend reading the textbook as it is what most prepares you for the exams.
i liked attending the in person lectures but her content is very vast and a lot of memorizing. i don't recommend cramming and def get smokin notes. her test questions are weird sometimes so read rly carefully
Overall, class was easy and content was easy to understand. However, Professor Archambeau was a terrible professor as she didn't take a personal matter of mine that was very serious into consideration. She doesn't care what is going on in your personal life at all, even for health emergencies. One of the most non-sympathetic professors ever.
This is not the way to teach management, I wish the class was more interactive and there should be a project element involved. Instead, it is just an exam dominated class that requires you to memorize hundreds of vocabulary words and apply them to poorly written questions.
Her lectures are pretty poor, and she yaps about pretty much nothing the whole time. It is basically a learn yourself course. Her exams are poorly written, and most of the questions make zero sense. It is lowk nothing like the practice test she gives you. I mean thus class is fine, because she doesn't grade anything its just homework and exams.
The absolute worst. Homework all easy vocab stuff and then exams long word problems with multiple correct answers.
Management is an easy class, Archambeau is not a good prof. Lectures are absolutely a waste of time as she rambles on and hardly knows what she's talking about. Doable class, read the textbook, take notes, study on your own terms. 20 points of extra credit (2% grade inc). Practice exams do not correlate to real exam and the real exams are ambiguous
The professor was very nice, but many of the exam questions are very vague with no appeals process, which was very frustrating. The homework questions are not comparable to the exam questions at all. There are 4 exams on 4 chapter each, with the material being much more condensed later in the year. The class was basically all memorization.
Dr Archambeau is an OK professor. She is funny but her exams are terribly written and insanely ambiguous. Definitely get Smokin Notes as they will help. Read the book, Smokin Notes, and 2x her lectures and you can get an A.
Don't take this class lightly. Principles of Management doesn't initially sound like a difficult class and the material makes it seem that way, but her question-writing makes exams way harder than expected. Her practice exams do not mirror the actual exams, I'd recommend smoking notes to get access to more questions. Avoid if possible.
Awful professor and the exams are very hard. DO NOT TAKE !
She's okay, her in-class activities are fun. All the content is very straightforward but her exams are nothing like the practice exams/textbook. Her questions are written poorly and u must goto office hours to see any questions missed (even though this is literally an online class). Didn't need Smokin notes but I was scared for my grade for a while
I wish she wasnt the only professor for this course,
Hey, you—yeah, you, reading this—I am so sorry that you will have to take Archambeau. You have no choice. If you did, she would not be employed. Here's my advice: her lectures are worthless, do not depend on Smokin' Notes, and READ. THE. TEXTBOOK. If you do ANYTHING, study the textbook. I PROMISE. Do the extra credit too. Godspeed, soldier.
Exams have a few random questions from out of nowhere- tiny details that were never covered.
Read the textbook, do the extra credit, and watch lectures at 2x speed. I Used Smokin' Notes mainly for practice questions. Interesting content, but the class is straight memorization.
Truly didn't learn anything meaningful. Dr. Archambeau's lectures were thorough, but I think I would've received the same level of info reading out of the book. Tough grader who doesn't provide much direction on assignments. If you need an elective that's straightforward, it's not a horrible option, but don't go out of your way to take it.
Took this w/ 3 other classes in Summer A and no smoking notes and still survived. Don't bother watching the lectures, just read the book and look at her exam review lecture to see what content outside the book is tested. It is a memorization class to put it bluntly. Do all the extra credit opportunities!
I took this summer A so it was super fast but the exam questions were not well written. I used smokin notes and did everything I could, but couldn't manage to average an A on them. No matter if I knew the content inside and out, it always felt like the questions had multiple correct answers.
mid overall. she hatess kale
Worst teacher ever! The four exams are only open for ONE HOUR on only one day. I cannot take the exams now because I missed the ONE HOUR TIME SLOT!!!!!
Awful experience! I'm in UF Online and this professor forces four exams at fixed times with only one hour each, no flexibility. I missed an exam they allowed no retakes. I'm in Europe and had to take them at 2 AM. I know the material well but the setup is unfair and inconsiderate. The worst class and professor I've had at UF. Worst professor ever!
Professor Archamebau's exams are horrible, she offers practice exams that are way easier and topic based than the actual exam which has horribly worded questions meant to trick you and choose the wrong answer. Because everything is "choose the best answer" she makes the answer choices extremely vague for the question so there isn't a clear answer.
This class is all AI Slop. Literally just McGraw Hill quizzes and "role plays". You dont even need to hear her voice for an A. Pathetic this is even considered a 3000 level course, so take it in stride because zero effort is put in by her, so zero effort is needed from you.
Awful professor. No matter how well I know the content for the exam each question has multiple answers that can be correct. The practice exams are 100 times easier than the real exams so you never really know what you're going to get no matter how much you practice. Used smokin notes and still couldn't manage an A.
lectures are useless, exams have nothing to do with the practice exams or what she talks about, and she is extremely rude. joke that this is required for credit, she needs to be fired.
Honestly this class shouldn't even have a teacher... all you have to do is read the textbook and study the terms in the textbook. Archambeau provided NO value to this class at all. Everything is done by Mcgraw, I genuinely feel like the professor quit literally did nothing besides use the AI assignments and exams that Mcgraw creates. Have fun :))
She's not a great professor, schedules HW on the same day of tests and is not super easy to talk to. Unfortunately, this is the only professor we have for this class.
The professor knows the info and articulates it well, the actual examined content is ridiculous. I did hybrid and completed all homework, all extra credit, and used office hours. Got a 90%-100% on all homework. However, the practice exams and reading the textbook solidified my knowledge just to be bombarded by poorly worded exams. Good luck!
actually awful. i stopped watching lectures and just took notes on the textbook. exams are the entire grade and I understood the material but the exam questions were just soooo weird. like the questions didn't make sense on purpose. she's nice but she just yapped all of class and wasn't helpful.
I think this professor is very knowledgeable about the topic, but her lectures do not encompass all the material needed to succeed on exams. Make sure to read the textbook, to learn some of the smaller details and definitions not reviewed in lectures. Smokin' Notes was a lifesaver when it came to studying for the exams!
I did not watch a single lecture and somehow pulled out an A in this class. The exams are super content heavy, so the only way to do well on them is to memorize every single piece of material from the book. This class is a lot like marketing except with a less useful professor.
I'm surprised this class has such low ratings compared to MAR3023. The class is much more manageable and reasonable when it came to the workload. Exams are also better and not as ambiguous in my opinion. It also is much easier to earn a higher grade in given the point system and extra credit. If you struggled in this class, good luck with MAR3023.
For the poor souls that have to suffer through this class. I feel your pain. I learned nothing in this class. The exams are awful. Smokin' Notes saved me some time, and the lectures are not worth sitting through in this class. I'm not sure if there is a right way to teach management in college, but this is surely the wrong way.
This is a flashcard class. Nothing you 'learn' in this class is really all that practical if you're just an ordinary business major. Just write down the terms and definitions, review them, and you'll be fine. I personally did Smokin' Notes because it was easier but wouldn't say its necessary. She offers practice exam (1 per exam) and extra credit.
Print out the syllabus and have it with you at all times. If you do not follow her syllabus, you will completely fail. If you are late for an exam, she'll take away two entire letter grades. Make sure to complete all of the extra credit! I emailed her, and she never replied.
Very easy class. However, the professor demonstrates a subpar lecturing ability and treats students with a lack of interest. This professor does not seek to resolve issues with understanding, only what's more convenient for themself.
The textbook will be your best friend for this class; her lectures are just confusing and not the best. The practice tests do not emulate the actual tests. Test questions do not make sense and are hard for no reason. Just read and memorize the terms/charts in the textbook, and you will be good. I did not use Smokin Notes.
