Professor Chen is one of the best professors. She is very helpful. The grading is fair and clear. You must attend class everyday because if you miss a lesson, it can be a set back since lessons are not repeated. She truly cares about her students and wants all to get a good grade, but you must do your work, you must study and do well on exams.

I was afraid of chemistry before taking her summer session class, but she makes everything understandable. Just read the power point slides and do all of the ungraded practice exams and quizzes and you will get an A. There is alot more math than one would think. There were 4 exams, 1 final exam, and 11 labs. Labs are a free 20 points!

She is a super nice person, very smart and very low profile. I am glad I took her class in this summer. As long you study the practice questions and review the learning checks, you will be fine.

Took her for 122, her 121 class is structured different to obtain an easy A. In 122, she's a stickler for no freebies. Had a 92 overall & it wasn't boosted to an A, it stayed an A-. She will give extra points if the class average is below 80. Exams are straight forward and labs are easy. Great prof who holds you responsible for your own effort.

Class is totally diff from 121. She doesnt drop lowest grade for this course, but you'll still have 5 exams. My grade suffered from one bad exam. All you need is her Power Point notes. Dont miss a lab, always gives a 100%.Good professor. Doesnt follow schedule, shortens lunch, for you to leave early if you have class on Saturday.

Took class online in Spring 2013 having no chemistry background. The text, (by Karen Timberlake) was very understandable and the course has quite a bit of maths. Discipline and application of self is important. Helpful and knowledgeable professor. I worked hard and got my grade 'A'.

I loved her class and it made me love chemistry. If you study hardcore like I did, you will do great. Her online class is clear and she skips some parts of the chapters and puts questions on the tests that were on the review exam. You will do great but you must put on your own effort. Also no deadlines!! (don't forget, ask on blackboard).

This was an online class. She takes time out of the lab days to go over the chapter material and stuff we don't understand. She adds extra points on the test. She drops lowest test grade. Everything was on blackboard so participation on blackboard is a must. She is very nice and helps you understand the materials. Best and easy teacher !

I was a little nervous about taking chemistry but this professor made it unbelievably easy. She is also very fair and does not deduct points for petty things such as attendance; if you do well on her exams and do the labs then you will pass with high marks. You don't even need to read the textbook as long as you just read her slides on blackboard.

Took her Hybrid on-line Chem Class, so it is on-line lecture/in-class lab. She was great, took the time to talk to students via e-mail and in-class. There is a lot of material to cover and you will have to work really hard to stay ahead in this class but I thought the way she presented all the material on-line and in-class made it a lot simpler.

She is very kind and thoughful and only wants you to do your best. I bought the textbook but I didn't hardly open it because most of what's in the book is on blackboard. I thought the tests were pretty easy especially if you keep up with the class and read on blackboard. If you took a chemistry class before this one, you'll do fine!

Have to be careful with discussion board. Even though she says you can do up to 2 chapters per week, you will only get credit for one chapter.

Straight forward assignments and grading criteria. She has test grades posted within 2 hours after the exam. Non-cumulative final. Just do the assignments, pay attention to her lectures, and it's an easy A. Gives practice quizzes and exams before every test that have some questions on the actual exam. She gives an easy A. The lab reports are just straight from the lab manual including pre and post-lab questions. These lab reports count towards your attendance. The tests are easy if you just study her powerpoints, quizzes, and practice tests that she gives you. Very easy course.

Easiest chemistry teacher. You'll do labs timely 2 lowest dropped, exams done at least 5 exams 1 lowest dropped, and 1 final, these will highly affect your grades. The Final gives 20% to your grade but only 2 last chapters are included. Do not miss any labs you'll be fine always ask for help from classmates. Make sure to have a tutor u'll be fine.
