The best professor I have ever taken! She makes you work very hard but you truly learn the material inside and out! She is ALWAYS available and is willing to do whatever she can to be of help - even holding review sessions for exams. Also gives you practical case studies for each test which apply to the real world. She's the best for A&P at QU!

You can tell immediately she is brilliant, quite difficult, a lot of work and studying required, but worth the effort because you learn a lot. She is more than ready to help any student who is struggling, She puts in extra hours to help out students during her office hours.

The most brilliant teacher at QU. She explains everything perfectly and is always available for help. She is an easy grader on tests and will do everything in her power to help you master the material. However, her tests are extremely difficult and the class is very high demanding, i would avoid her if your A&P background is weak.

Professor Kaplan is one tough cookie. She is one of the smartest people that I have ever met and she will put you to work. This is the most interesting class that I have ever taken and she makes it. Its the most work i have ever had but also the most knowledge gained. Tons of work but totally worth it.

I had her for bio211 and 212 for lecture and lab both semesters. I took her because she knows her stuff. She's hard but only because she wants you to excell and is always there to help. I feel I am a better student and will do better in life because of her and her class

Extremely hard test compared to any other anatomy class. Yes, you learn the material, but way more than any other class. You'll have to put in hours a day to get an A. Plays favorites, up and down moods, not really open to questions, can be snotty to certain students for no reason.

I really liked her. I think she is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She is difficult, but you learn a lot and she is very helpful. Very nice and very clear so take her if you can. Very good professor.

She is by far the best teacher at QU for anatomy. She has to be the most intelligent person I have ever met and I am thankful I had her for both semesters. HARD! but you learn your stuff! At least 10 - 12 hours a week for studying and even more a couple weeks out from test time. Stay on top of your notes, if you get behind can be a challenge

I loved prof. Kaplan. She usually gives very good notes on the blackboard, making it easier to understand for visual learners. What she gives in her notes is on the test. She also gives other assignments out of class that are very beneficial to succeeding on the tests. She is the best bio teacher I had.

DO NOT TAKE it if you want an A, because few people will get them. Tests are beyond intense and she expects a lot from her students.

Best science teacher I've had so far. TAKE Kaplan over anyone else for anatomy. The course is challenging because of the pace and the depth of her notes not because her tests are unclear or overly challenging (high 90's on each test are very doable if you study hour leading up to the exam). You need to memorize everything that she writes on the board and every word that comes out of her mouth. Yes, her class was hard, and no you will not be used to this kind of fast-paced, in depth material. But I have learned so much from her this semester. Dr. Kaplan is an amazing professor! I have never felt like I actually understood the material until I took her class. She's extremely smart and she has great examples to help you understand the material. You have to work for it though. Definitely not a class to cram for an exam the night of or even 3 days before!

Dr. Kaplan was amazing!! If you have a chance to take forensics, take it. She actually cares about you and what you want. If you don't understand something, ask her and she will do everything in her power to help you. Also, she's so understanding and knows that things happen. One of the best classes that I took.

Great professor but.. Her powerpoints are so detailed and there are about 100 slides in all of them. It's an information overload and you are expected to know all of it. This is a class where you have to study at least 1 week prior to the exam, even then you still may have some difficulty. I am a good student but I don't recommend. Avoid. Avoid.

Dr. Kaplan is one of the sweetest professors that I have ever had! She cares deeply about her students, she even made her test date flexible when people were moving home due to increased covid cases on campus. Her class is a flipped classroom so you will be spending a lot of time out of class watching lectures. This is not my preferred class style

Her lectures outside of class are long, but she gives companion worksheets which make it so easy to be successful! You actually learn the material and there are no surprises on the test.

Kaplan is an intense professor that assigns a lot of work-however- A&P is a class that requires this. Kaplan is a great professor that gives you all the material you need to succeed and posts lectures on BB (at least during Covid) that I watched over and over to grasp the concepts. If flipped classroom is not your style, do not take Prof. Kaplan. For those who prefer it, absolutely take her. The material can be difficult in general and you need to study the PowerPoints (everything on the test is in the PowerPoint). She wants you to truly succeed but it's not handed to you. Take Kaplan if you can. She is a fair grader and cares about her students and what they put into the work and not just only the outcome. The GLP notebook in Lab is the only thing that will really take you a long time. Not too many or hard assignments in lecture. She decides what type of test to give - lockdown mc or open book short answer.

Highly recommend this professor. Did a great job of not only reading over the slides, but actually teaching her lectures. There is homework; however, they are super easy and most of them do not take more than 15 minutes. It is necessary to study for a long period of time for every exam, but her tests are fair and she always gives points back.

This class is extremely hard, but professor Kaplan is very caring and truly wants to see every student do well. Kaplan is probably the best professor I've had at QU. Anatomy is a hard course, but Kaplan makes it easy by giving us the proper tools to succeed. At first I thought that I was not going to like the class, but she truly looks out for her students and want them to pass the class.

Kaplan provides worksheets called companion worksheets, DO THEM DURING CLASS! Bio is hard with any teacher, Kaplans exams were fair. Best advice I can give is meet with her and ask for tips. I did better on exams after zooming with her. Very clear cut. Takes attendance every class using a QR code. I would take her again.

Had to retake this course but I understood the material much better with Kaplan. Explains everything thoroughly and classroom is structured really well. Isn't looking to fail her students but you do have to put in the work in order to do well. Has lots of resources to help you succeed. QR code for attendance, do what you will with that information.

Very intense class, she over lectures and then forces everyone to think they need to know everything. I had no problem on the tests but they had a very wide range of material on them. Average grades would be lowish like 80 but I studied hard and the tests were fine.

Prof Kaplan is very lecture heavy, she is quite harsh but in a kind way. There is a lot of homework and assignments at the beginning of the semester but the % almost cancels out one exam grade. Dr. Kaplan's lectures are very dense, but BIO 211 just is. I think that she explains well, but from what I have heard other profs are easier. She is straight up when she says you will be tested on everything in the slides which can be 100+. If you are confused or want to talk about studying she is open, make appts ahead of time bec she's very busy!

Dr. Kaplan is a great professor. Her slides are definitely overwhelming but if you pay attention during lecture you should be fine. Its a hard class but a good amount of questions on the tests are similar to the slides so if you lock in and actually study outside of class you will be fine.

I loved Kaplan, she was caring and taught class and although she was fast pace, she uploads recordings. She would use her own personal stories to help her students understand and grasp better. The downside is that she would go into very depth with her lectures, all the little things that other professors don't care about. You have to study ahead!!

Took BIO 221 Plastics J-Term class. Hate science, loved this class. This was a super doable work load and the content was easy to understand and access. You have an assignment due about every day of the 17 day semester but they take about 10 minutes to an hour, maybe a little more. Defiantly a class you could take while working a few days a week.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Kaplan, she is truly one of the best professors I've ever had. She is lecture-heavy but her lectures were amazing and incredibly helpful for the exams. There is one group project that is a fair amount of the grade but it really isn't something to worry about. I highly reccomend taking her for Forensics.

Has many assignments but they're easy and she's an easy grader. Exams are pretty straightforward. Offers extra credit class “competitions” for your exams. Genuinely cares and gets to know her students. There is a textbook but it's not very important, I still got an A without it. For lab expect to stay close the entire time. A lot of work for lab.

To be blunt: class is really hard, but doable if you put the work in. Prof. Kaplan is very knowledgeable about anatomy, and she does care about her students. However, she makes her class so much harder than other sections. Tests are weighted heavily but are also extremely challenging. I would recommend her if you actually enjoy learning and rigor.
